Spike TV has announced that Ultimate Fighter Season 10 contestant Kimbo Slice has been slated to fight on the season finale episode of the Ultimate Fighter on December 2 on Spike TV.

This comes as sad news to fans of the show because it was looking like Kimbo was going to take the place of a quarter-finalist on the show, but this announcement has squashed any thought of this.

Kimbo Slice will be fighting UFC fighter Houston Alexander on the 2-hour season finale.

Le combat de boxe organiser entre Dana et Tito ne s’est finalement jamais réalisé. Il faut croire qu’ils ont réglé leur compte d’une autre façon et ainsi s’entendre pour effectuer le retour de Tito avec la UFC.

Finalement, au nombre de fois que Dana White à déclarer que Kimbo Slice était sans talent (regarder video) n’était qu’un bagarreur de bbq, qu’Urijah Faber 145 lbs vaincrait sans l’ombre d’un doute le gros de 205 lbs. Ce n’est sûrement pas avec sa performance contre Roy Nelson que Kimbo Slice a convaincu White qu’il avait le talent qu’il faut pour faire partie de l’organisation du UFC.

Évidemment, Dana White n’a jamais prétendu à ce titre d’homme de paix, mais on se doute fort certainement que finalement, malgré toutes les choses qu’il peut dire contre une personne, l’homme d’affaire est prêt à changer son fusil d’épaule une fois une bonne affaire $$$ est flairée.

This week brings us week 2 of the quarter finals.  Our scheduled fight is Brenden Schaub and Jon Madsen.

However, the bigger news seems to be the ongoing soap opera of Matt “Meathead” Mitrione.  Mitrione finally returns to the training center with a story of his brain swelling as the cause of his recent absence.  BS is called by the coaches and several castmates.

Meanwhile, the speculation continues as to who will replace Mitrione if he does drop out.

The prohibitive favorite seems to be Kimbo Slice, but that train may have gone off the rails this week.  Kimbo is having pain in his knee.  An MRI reveals missing cartilage in his knee that may require surgery.

Scott Junk still looks like hell from his fight with Mitrione.  Maybe he wouldn’t be as good a choice as I suggested last week.

The less said about the beach volleyball “coaches’ challenge” the better.  We’re obviously padding.  Of course, Evans does manage to pad his wallet and the wallets of his team by winning the thing, but still.

Rashad Evans calls Mitrione aside for a heart-to-heart.  He asks Meathead straight up if he wants to fight and only gets another evasive answer.  Fed up, Evans puts in a call to Dana White.  The president of the UFC calls all the fighters together and gives them his version of a pep talk…

You want fame?  Well, fame costs.  And right here is where you start paying.  With sweat.

Wait.  That’s not right.

For those of you keeping track at home, that’s two Fame references on GonzoGeek this week.

We really are gonna live forever.

White’s speech talks about fighters getting hurt, fighters fighting hurt and how nobody is forcing the contestants to fight.  The entire time he was talking all I could here was Debbie Allen’s Fame speech.

He doesn’t single out Mitrione, but the implication is there.

Then its on to the fight.

Schaub and Madsen have a good first round.  Its a back and forth fight.  Things change dramatically in the second round when Schaub uses his reach advantage to simply knock Madsen the hell out.  The punch was solid and it sent Jensen to the mat hard.

Schaub joins Big Country in the semi-finals.

Alice was entirely puzzled by her surroundings when she fell through the rabbit hole. I can relate.

Here I sit, in YVR (Vancouver International Airport), surrounded by an eclectic and motley crew of characters. In front and on one side of me is the Deja Vu Modeling (sic) troupe, comprised of six- to 18-year olds; all of whom are busy talking over each other, commanding each other’s attention and taking flash pictures of everything that moves. At this very moment five of them are following another in a haphazard yoga-like routine. Perhaps coincidentally and somewhat shockingly, three rows away (and entirely minding his own business I must say) is a 55-year old man in a black leather jacket reading a Penthouse magazine. He’s in a sequestered corner of the seating area, but still in public. Another young man, a tall and thin 25-year old is sporting a toque, extremely loud red and white python loafers, and a black tee shirt that says “Kimbo Slice” on the back.

I am excited to be heading home. I had fun in Whistler, and though it rained prolifically in Vancouver today, it was still nice to visit. I’m home for a couple days and then on Wednesday I’m off to Toronto. Enough time, I hope, to get my laundry done and pack again.

Tonight we begin the quarter finals.  There are only 8 fighters remaining.

Tonight’s fight is between Roy “Big Country” Nelson and Justin Wren.

Wren impressed me in his first fight by submitting UFC veteran Wes Sims in the first round.

Tonight he takes on a much tougher opponent in Nelson.  Nelson’s physique belies his abilities as a fighter, but he still hasn’t impressed Dana White.

Other happenings?

Matt Mitrione may have a concussion after his fight with Scott Junk.  OR, he might be faking it like he did the arm injury before his fight with Junk.  The house is pretty divided.  Dana White paid a surprise visit to the house to check on Mitrione.

The talk turns to who would replace Mitrione if he isn’t cleared to fight in the quarter finals.  Everyone seems to think the spot should go to Kimbo Slice.  Granted, he’s the biggest name among the eliminated fighters, but it was Scott Junk who went three brutal rounds with Mitrione two weeks ago.  If I was junk and Kimbo got the call ahead of me, I’d be pissed.  I’m just saying.

Team Rampage filled Rashad’s car with chickens (or “cocks” if you’re 12) because, well, I guess they don’t have much to do with only 1 fighter in the quarters.

Let’s go to the octagon for the match.

Wren comes out throwing.  Nelson doesn’t know what hit him, but it was several strong punches from Wren. Wren absolutely owned the first round.  He pounded Nelson mercilessly.  It was only a clench in the cage that saved Nelson from getting knocked out in my opinion.

The second round was not as clear cut.  Wren was exhasted and missed some big punches.  Nelson picked his spots and mades some good punches and kicks.  By the time the second round was over, Wren could barely hold his hands up.

Everyone in the gym was expecting a third round.

They didn’t get it.

To everyone’s surprise it was announced that the judges had reached a decision.  If I’d been Roy Nelson I would have been worried.

But despite Justin Wren’s clearly superior first round, the judges somehow gave the fight to Nelson.

JUSTIN WREN WAS ROBBED!

That fight should clearly have gone to a third round.  Its also entirely possible Wren would have gotten knocked out in that 3rd round, but he at least deserved a shot.

So, Roy Nelson is in the semi-finals and Justin Wren’s season is over.  That being said, I think his showing on TUF will get him some more looks by the UFC.

Next week its Brendan Schaub against Jon Madsen.  That one should be interesting.

On mmajunkie.com we  see that last saturday event on CBS have an average audience of 4.04 million viewers for the 9-11 p.m. timeslot??? It’s true that the pre-fights wasn’t as good as the Fedor-Roger’s fight (specially the Mayhem one) but i wish that a talented fighter like Emelianenko bring more fans to MMA than brawler like Kimbo Slice did with TUF 10.

Tonight’s episode of  The Ultimate Fighter included trips to the ER, grown men chasing cocks, and the weekly Wes Sims one liners. However, it was highlighted by a quarterfinal match between Roy Nelson and Justin Wren. In a performance that only Roy Nelson himself found impressive, he defeated Justin Wren via Majority Decision. Personally, I thought the fight should have gone to a third round…so did everyone else in the world except the three people juding the fight. Justin came out early in the first like a bat of hell and took it to Nelson, almost putting an end to a fight. In fact, I agree with what Dana White said after the fight. If it wasn’t for a desperation clinch, Roy “Give some cheese on that whopper” Nelson was getting knocked the f*ck out. Even thought I gave the second round to Roy, and Justin was very gassed and probably would have lost the third round anyways, the fight definately deserved another round. My pick to win it all is still Nelson, but that is now two very sub-par performances.

There are continued teasers of a Kimbo Slice return as Matt is still complaining about his “brain hurting” and went to the hospital overnight. Is this legitimate or is there going to be a return of The Beard? Who knows? I really hope so, cause me likey some Kimbo and Matt is a mega-douche.

I really wanted a box of Topps UFC for a long time now and I just finally got my hands on one. I know this product for the price is hit or miss (what product nowadays isn’t) but I’m feeling kind of lucky today.

Hmm so my box was missing a guarantee memorabilia card but that is OK because I got Kimbo freakin’ Slice auto and it is on card.

Kimbo Slice is like the best hit you can pull in this product and it alone more than paid for the box. I just wonder what does the 303 inscription mean. Anyways, honestly Kimbo isn’t my favorite Ultimate Fighter contestant; Marcus “Big Baby” Jones is and guess what? I pulled a Marcus freakin’ Jones auto too.

In addition to that I pulled two more autos, Bruce Buffer, who my brother likes for some reason, and Martin Kampmann, whose name sound familiar.

The relic card I did pull is of Clay Guida, 89/99. They call Clay Guida the caveman for obvious reasons.

Counting parallels as base cards, the base set is about 60% (91/150) complete with 17 doubles. This is the a set I want to complete and I am missing: 5,6,7,8,10,12,15,19,22,23,26,28,30,35,36,38,40,47,48,49,51,53,54,55,60,63,68,

I also got 16 (one in each pack) inserts. The bloodlines inserts are probably the best of the bunch.

So I beat the odds and got four autos and a relic. It definitely surpassed my expectations and this may be the best box of anything I opened so far. I still can’t believe I got both Kimbo Slice and Marcus Jones autos. I hope Kimbo Slice can actually win a fight to back up all the hype about him.

I’m suprised to see Dana White exited about poor fights that we see week after week on TUF 10. Habitually UFC’s president is more critic.
Almost every guys on this season’s cast are fat, have no cardio, have no talent and no technic. Brock Lesnar suck and it’s not in this bunch of Heavyweight geek that UFC’s will find a good opponent for his champion.
I think that this TUF season is more about popularity then talent. Having Kimbo Slice, ex-NFL players, semi-popular Roy Nelson, Wes Sim… bring hight TV rating (4.1 millions, 2.9 millions, 6.1 millions…) but really poor quality. Isn’t what Dana White deplore for the last years?

Don’t get me wrong he could totally kick my ass. In fact his 12 year old daughter could kick my ass. I was listening to the Adam Carolla Podcast this morning and  some MMA dude  (Brett Rogers) was on with his trainer and his trainer made an excellent point. I have the worst memory ever so Im gonna paraphrase what he said:

“Kimbo’s internet videos were staged, I mean what he was doing is illegal. if you were going to do something illegal such as buy hard drugs, would you bring a camera crew along and video tape it.”

“All those fighters signed waivers it was as legit as any other fight, he  just fought chumps.”

It’s true when I go to buy tranny hookers and crack (hypothetically) wouldn’t bring a camera crew, I would do it on my own.

I don’t watch MMA but from what I hear all the street tough guy (Kimbo) sucks ass in the ring and loses to real fighters all the time.

I wrote this whole piece just to post a funny pic of Kimbo so enjoy (yeah he is playing Nintendo Wii) cute.

Dana White is one guy that keeps things real honest and when he was interviewed by MMA Fanhouse regarding Kimbo favoritism and Rampage’s blog let’s just say he handled it in typical Dana fashion. Dana handles things straight up even though the delivery is brash the man speaks truth. Do you agree with is comments

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is a tool.  There I’ve said it.  I haven’t posted a review in the last couple of weeks because I was trying to avoid going on a rant, but I’m tired of watching him on my TV, so here goes.  Good Riddance.  Good luck with your movie career, I hope that Dana and the UFC don’t take you back.  Your attitude and actions on this season’s TUF have been childish and annoying.  The fact that you continue to jaw with Rashad is acceptable (except that you’ve found a way to duck that match), but the fact that you keep trying to pick fights with contestants on the show is embarassing.  It makes you look unprofessional.  Couple that with your third grade wit, and it makes watching TUF this season more like watching two toothless hookers cat-fight on Jerry Springer.  Then, you add to that the fact that you’re a terrible coach, losing seven bouts in a row, walking out on your fighters and poorly preparing them to fight, and I would say you’re basically worthless.  Now don’t get me wrong, I was just as excited as everyone else when you came over from PRIDE (I’ve watched that KO slam on Ricardo Arona many times), but you’ve worn out your welcome.  Good luck becoming the next Mr. T.  I pity you, fool.

Now, for the review of week 7.  The build-up for this fight was basically that Matt Mittrione was crazy and that Scott Junk was the real deal.  Mittrione had already irritated his teammates by spilling the beans on fight plans for Team Rashad, plus he was hearing voices.  No one seemed to give him any chance.  Junk was touted as Rampage’s best chance at securing a victory, and a likely candidate to win the whole show.

The fight was very entertaining, at least for the first three minutes.  Matt rocked Scott early, and clearly had the upper hand throughout the first frame on the feet.  He knocked Junk down several times and Junk’s takedown attempts were less than impressive.  The final couple of minutes of the first round and the entire second round were dominated by utter fatigue.  Both fighters could hardly keep their hands above their waists.  Several clean shots were landed, but not with significant power.  Scott was able to get a takedown, but did little with the top position.  In the end, I think the decision in Mittrione’s favor was fair, plus neither of these guys would have survived a third round.  I guess as a BJ Penn disciple, we should have questioned Junk’s stamina coming in, but I was surprised by his lack of conditioning.  I think he may have been in worse shape at fight time than when he came to the show.  Strong work, Rampage, you just lost your best fighter.  The good news is that I think Marcus will win next week.

A long-rumored contest between UFC sluggers Houston Alexander (9-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) and Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson (3-1 MMA, 0-0 WEC) will take place at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale on Dec. 5 in Las Vegas.

That explains why Alexander is applying for a license to fight with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, but what about the weight difference between “The Assassin” at 205 pounds and Slice as a heavyweight? The Times of Northwest Indiana has the answer.

Citing sources close to Alexander’s camp, Matt Erickson is reporting not only confirmation that the bout will take place in Las Vegas rather than the previously rumored UFC 107 event in Memphis, Tenn., but also that the pair will meet at a catchweight of 215 pounds.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has since verified the location of the bout but has been unable to get official word of the catchweight agreement.

Slice fought at 230 pounds when he met Roy Nelson on the third episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 10: Heavyweights.” Following the loss, Slice told AOL FanHouse he’d be willing to try his hand at a light heavyweight contest, though he apparently hasn’t made it all the way down to 205 pounds just yet.

Alexander seeks his first UFC win since September 2007. After earning devastating knockout victories over Alessio Sakara and Keith Jardine in his first two trips to the octagon, the Nebraska native has suffered three-straight UFC defeats. Alexander was allowed to take a fight outside of the UFC in September, earning a TKO win over Sherman Pendergarst under the Adrenaline MMA banner.

Slice, who recently joined American Top Team, seeks victory in his first UFC appearance. Despite being eliminated on “TUF 10″ in a TKO loss to Nelson, the former streetfighting legend has shown the ability to garner huge ratings during his stint on the show and previous fights under the EliteXC banner.

The bout seems a lock for the evening’s Spike TV-broadcast main card.

Featuring two heavy handed punchers who have shown little interest in ground attacks, the Alexander vs. Slice bout is the odds-on favorite for “Knockout of the Night,” though either fighter could conceivably claim the prize.

Well, life caught up with me and I’ve gotten a bit behind on these reviews.  That doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten them.

I spent a good portion of my weekend catching up on Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter.  I’m glad I did.

When last we checked in on our Vegas house full of MMA wannabes, Roy “Big Country” Nelson had just laid a beating on Kimbo Slice.

Rashad Evans, still in control of picking the fights, pairs Brendan Schaub with Demico Rogers and our matchup is set.

Marcus Jones is shown training and then sweating profusely back at the house.  You know something isn’t right when Kimbo Slice comes to your rescue.  Big Baby doesn’t get the fight and doesn’t like it.

The fight was set after Justin Wren balks at fighting Scott Junk because they’re buddies outside of the show.  Way to man up Justin!

Rampage Jackson continues to be edited like an idiot.  He doesn’t give his fighters much good advice and spends most of his camera time making silly cracks about the other fighters.  I’m not sure if this is part of Rampage’s punishment for shooting the A-Team movie, but he isn’t being portrayed in a good light at all.

And then, its fight time.

In the first round, Shaub takes the victory with an anaconda choke.  Rogers was outclassed.

Jackson was not happy with the submission and left Rogers alone in the ring.  It was a childish display.  The only person giving Rogers and positive reinforcement was Rashad Evans.

Team Rashad is is now up 4-0.
