Questions, we’ve got answers, on the am 1090 eco-minute –

Bill sent an email to me with this problem:

He needs some help in finding out how to dispose of old double A or triple A cell batteries and old florescent light bulbs. He says he doesn’t think they should be dumped in the trash and has a collection in plastic jars, but that isn’t a long-term solution.

You’re right, Bill, both the batteries and flourescents shouldn’t be dumped, and its great you’re stock piling your questionable items to make one trip to the right place.

The First place I always go to is the King County website called “What do I do with…? “

For those alkaline batteries and used flourescent bulbs, both the big kind and compacts – you can hit the king county wastemobile in auburn on selected weekends, or the City of Seattle North and South Hazardous Waste Facilities – somne local businesses even take your hazardous stuff. This website is great to find out what exactly can and cannot go in the our trashcans.
