Après un calme relativement plat cet été en nouveautés jeux, voici un petit lot de titres phares très attendus sur console DS.

Autant dire que les joueurs seront gâtés en cette fin d’année!

Kingdom hearts 358/2days :

Après déjà deux premiers épisodes bien réussis sur console PS2, Square Enix nous concocte un troisième volet de Kingdom Heart mais cette fois sur DS.

Dans cette suite, on y retrouve Roxas et l’organisation XIII confrontés aux terribles Sans-cœurs. Malgré la petite taille de la console DS, le graphisme et la rapidité du jeu sont une véritable réussite.

Professeur Layton et la boîte de pandore :

Suite à la remarquable réussite du premier épisode, Level-5 nous remet ça avec un deuxième volet. Une nouvelle histoire passionnante et de nouvelles énigmes vous y attendent, le style dessin animé de la cinématique est maintenu et rallongé pour un résultat encore plus impressionnant.

Mario & Luigi, Voyage au centre de Bowser :

Le chouchou de Nintendo n’a plus de soucis à se faire, chaque série de Mario est à lui seul une petite merveille unique en son genre. La nouveauté réside dans le mélange assez rare du jeu de plate-forme et du jeu de rôle. L’univers du jeu y est très coloré et complètement déjanté.

Finally E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) got started a couple day ago and with Sony, Nintendo,  Microsoft conference all over. I will list thing that really interest me.

Sony:

PSP Go look awesome, price is well not so awesome

God of War 3, uncharted, Metal Gear, and a game that could be a Mario Kart killer!??

Nintendo:

I was kind disappointment for Nintendo this year.They didn’t feel as exciting as they was back in 2006 E3. Wish they could have done better.

Mario galaxy 2,  4 player mario game on wii, Golden Sun DS,  A new Metroid call Metroid: The other M. Made by the same people who make Dead or Alive, Team Ninja!?. Wii fit plus… sure.

Mircosoft:

This year, they did alright. Two new Halo game coming out this year and 2010.  Left 4 Dead 2, Dead rising, Mass effect 2 , etc.

Other thing that interest me:

No more Hero 2, Bayonetta, Kingdom Heart, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and many more.

Really, what I am really looking forward to is…. FINAL FANTASY 13!!! Coming out next year! Also coming out next year… Final Fantasy 14 for PS3 and PC!?? Aka next installment to the MMO Final fantasy 11.. Hope they fix all the con of FFXI and add a nice pvp system in FFXVI.

The Cover:

Normally, when it comes to covers, Utada really isn’t one to look out for. However, I think the covers during her Ultra Blue are definitely the best. As for the cover for COLORS, I think it could have been a lot more “abstract” and confusing like the song itself. However, I think the confusing borders, the handwritten title, the glare, and the gorgeous Hikki is good enough.

The Digital Stuff You Listen To:

As one of the first songs to start showing her more electronic synth style music, COLORS is a very unique song to me. I remember long ago that I was addicted to this song and I always had it on playing on my iTunes. With a combination of percussion, a haunting synth arrangement, and Hikkis unstrained voice, we get a song that just makes you want to walk around the world and see it in a different kind of light. The song is extremely beautiful and mysterious. Take a look at the translations for the lyrics, and just like me, you’ll be pretty damn confused at what it means, but it doesn’t matter anyway since the song is beautiful.

Possibly THE SONG that made me a fan of Hikki, I’m very happy to see Simple And Clean on here. Every time I listen to this song, a sudden burst of memories goes through my head. Bringing about memories of me growing up and transition from elementary to intermediate, and me slowly becoming more interested in music and my very first CD player. A combination of an acoustic guitar along with percussion and light synth practically makes this one of Hikkis “trademark” songs, and I’m sure that this is the first song that they have heard from Hikki thanks to Kingdom Hearts. Words enough cannot express my love for this song and the feelings it brings about, you just have to listen to it.

The Video:
You know, it’s a big shame that recently Hikkis videos have really sucked ever since her divorce with her husband and what not. Luckily, her videos during her Ultra Blue era were definitely the best. In sticking with the theme of not making a lot of sense, the music video features a lot of very confusing things. Consisting fluorescent lights (which Japanese people apparently hate), gigantic contrasts in colors, 2 girls posing in awkward positions, a scene by an elevator, a scene in an errie white hallway (there’s a big contrast in colors here), and a scene with shirtless guys in the background doing nothing sexy. The video is hella confusing, but it’s really interesting to watch, and I’m sure that some may get some meaning out of it, or inspiration make a video out of it. And of course, there’s Hikki who looks GORGEOUS here. Makes me wish that she had her long hair back already for her debut in the US.
