Bueno como buen fan de kingdom hearts que soy aqui os muestro mi colección de cosas de KH: podeis ver dos tomos manga del videojuego que la verdad no son tan largos como esperaba pero la verdad me gustan bastante, los videojuegos respectivos kh (lo tiene un amigo asique no he podido ponerlo), kh2, kh chain of memories y kh 358/2 (si, puse el manual fuera para darle más vidilla al asunto.

Arriba veis unas fotos que imprimi hace años y que guardaba en el kh2 y me dio por sacar, aparte de un anillo que se parece al logotipo de roxas y que me encanta.

I was going to write something else as the title, but in the age of sue happy people and everyone being P.C. I decided not to. The last thing I need is…..On second thought Happy Turkey Holocaust everyone. Yeah still not putting it as the title though. Anyway so yesterday’s blog brought in 3 people that were doing searches and my blog came up so they clicked. Well the first one just really made me laugh, but also sad at the same time. Someone typed in “is there such thing as Thanksgiving Eve.” Well if they do come across my blog they now know it’s not real, but at the same time I really hope that was a little kid looking that up. Someone else typed in “Thanksgiving Eve Christmas Shows.” ok I kinda get it. Then I got one that was kinda like wait what? “watch the wholewednesday november 25ths.” No I didn’t forget the space that was really what was put in the search. Now I bring these up because I’ve never gotten 3 hits from a search before. Well probably did, just never noticed it before. It was a good day at the shop with a bad ending. It’s never good when a customer comes in and says you guys close in 10 minutes right? That means they plan on spending that 10 minutes looking and maybe buying. This guy spent 5 minutes at the clearance table (looking then finally getting something) then gets what he wanted in the first place, then spends another 5 minutes looking at protein bars. As soon as he left it was (shockingly) time to close up. Well on the plus side I got to enjoy sleeping in and my Comedies. Yay I love holidays when I don’t have to work. Well time for squiby power. Today’s video is the first battle you have with Jafar on Kingdom Hearts. Why this video. Because there is this spell that Jafar uses that creates like this cyclone with shards of ice that my party members always got caught up in. It’s also a spell that he finishes despite the fact that you are kicking his ass with a blade. Not to mention whenever I would play he would use this spell like 20 million times before I kicked his ass. Now what I don’t like about this video is that this guy used so much magic. When I fought Jafar there were only two spells I used. Cure (heal) and Aero (the wind). I mean come on Jafar is a sorcerer and they are kinda all but immune to magic attacks. Now granted I had the guide book so I could see how ineffective magic could be on him, but still come on common sense. Well enjoy. Look for that ice spell. You’ll know when he’s going to do it because his hands glow blue and he holds them out and looks like he’s going into a trance. Today’s tip is on a day when people stuff their faces one being is truly thankful, Tapeworms. Happy Thanksgiving.

Yeah so a new amazing Final Fantasy 13 Trailer was released like yesterday and I saw it this morning and have probably watched it like 20 times since then till now. Really got me pumped for the game. Check it out!

My very first anime convention, and it was the incredibly awesome Anime Festival Asia in Singapore. While many people chose to focus on the merchandise, I decided to focus on the participants of the con – the cosplayers. SIXTY crazy photos ahead! With Singapore being the next most proliferate anime hub, the cosplayers have quite the reputation to hold up, and it doesn’t disappoint.

I would have posted earlier, but being sick kinda delayed it a little. Oh, the above photo wasn’t taken by me, as I didn’t bring my DSLR with me on my trip, that and I also couldn’t get that close to the lovely Gwendolyn.

So I arrived on late Friday, and basically my first breakfast before going to AFA was my absolute favorite breakfast delicacy in Singapore – Roti Prata. Delicious start to my visit!

On the way to Suntec. Decided not to go through the City Hall to Suntec underpass because my friend wanted to have a smoke. It was a nice day for a walk anyway. The weather is nice this time of year – much cooler than summer. It’s like Vancouver’s summer weather!

Inside Suntec. The convention hub is also a mall!  Not too much has changed in here since my last visit, compared to the rest of Singapore. (more photos in the near future).

My AFA ticket. It’s rather unfortunate that my Sunday ticket is still firmly attached to the stub. I got pretty sick near the end of Day 1, and basically was wrestling with the idea of whether to attend Day 2. I regret not going, but at the same time, it probably would have destroyed the rest of my vacation here.

My lunch. Swenson’s baked chicken on rice. I haven’t had Swenson’s in over 4 years! Singapore’s chicken has a very different texture to it, one that I can’t say I really like. The meat is stringy and dry – even with all this sauce.

Into the fray I go. Fortunately, thanks to Zh3us’ organizing, I was able to obtain tickets without needing to line up for hours. I arrived late, and the line-up was still insane! When you walk in the door, you’re greeted by this large (or should I say small) Gundam.

No idea who they are, but frankly, I don’t care. THIS is how cosplay works. Not like most of that North American crap.

A Beyond-Perfect-Grade Gundam. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen something as cool as this at that kind of scale.

I’m speechless at how cool this looks. BADASS!

After finally seeing a Cintiq for the first time in person, I’ve decided to buy less anime figures, sell more anime figures, and save up for a Cintiq.

Absolutely amazing work. I enjoy these kinds of paintings more than the typical anime fan art nowadays. I especially love it when they introduce a more asian/anime influenced edge into this kind of work. It’s what I hope to accomplish in the future.

Suigintou cosplayer. She’s absolutely adorable! And I’m not just talking about the outfit! A very friendly, and timid demeanor from the brief 15 seconds of interaction I had with her.

This is what the convention is all about – jacked up prices for large volumes of anime merchandise, and a lot of rare ones too!

K-On! Not much else I can say about this photo other than “NICE GUITAR!”

I kinda know who the girl on the left is (Bleach?) But the rest escape me. I’m guessing they’re just loligoth.

Same deal. Who are they cosplaying as? Doesn’t matter. I’m sure any girl would love to wear a flowing princessy dress for a day while people snap pictures of her like a celebrity/model.

Can’t say for sure, but I think this guy is a very famous artist. (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time?). Autograph signing had just closed when I got there.

I absolutely cannot wait to see this movie! Production I.G. FTW!

Absolutely awesome Black Rock Shooter cosplayer. The eye thing is a very nice touch. What I find interesting is that you can have ANYONE simply carry a samurai sword, and it will look like cosplay. Wear loligoth, carry a katana = cosplay. Wear a school uniform, carry a katana = cosplay. Wear street clothes, carry a katana = cosplay.

Awesome KH cosplayer. Those weapons are hand-made! I asked what it was made out of and what was involved. It was very technical. I was lost at “composite”.

Terrible fanart is terrible. I like how well it’s rendered, but the entire thing looks… dead. There’s just something incredibly lacking about it – the facial expressions, the poses, the composition, how stiff everyone looks, the complete lack of dynamic movement, it’s just all wrong. Being a huge fan of Valkyria Chronicles, I found this image insulting.

Actually very good cosplay. I’m not a Bleach or Naruto fan, but again, THIS is how cosplay is done right.

Yes, this is how good fanart looks. Stylized in your own way, but in ways that add to the original concept, not take away. While the general style is “generic”, it’s done well, and works well with the character.

There’s something about a group of cosplaying girls sitting around chatting. Bonus points for them being frilly loligoth cosplayers. You’ll notice they’r still segregated between the “anime hair color” group and the “natural hair color group”.

There were better poses from her, but oh well.

This guy was a great cosplayer. Very friendly, totally open, and very patient. He held that pose for a good 30 seconds while someone with a DSLR snapped away silently.

Then he took a picture with me like we’ve always been good friends. XD

Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere. When I first saw her wandering, I was floored. I wasn’t camera ready as she went through a door and vanished. I wasn’t satisfied leaving without a shot of her. I ran into her again (friend pointed her out). Unfortunately, this photo doesn’t do her justice anyway. I also saw ONE girl dressed as Konata (height was accurate too) but wasn’t camera ready at the time she went passed and disappeared around a corner.

Quite sad that this was the only pic I got of Danny Choo as he was mobbed and rushing away. I shouted “DANNY!” he looked over, and said “Hey!” That blurry thing in front of him is his hand as he waved. If I’m not mistaken, that’s Alodia. It’s blurry, but you can see her Witchblade makeup still on.

At the end of it all, after looking through all my photos, I feel it’s time I bought a new point and shoot camera. Most of the photos I got were blurry under this low light condition. There are cameras nowadays with face tracking, smile tracking, and anti-motion blur processing. I want to get a point and shoot that I can take out for quick shots and not have to worry about missing a moment.

AFA 09 was a lot of fun, and I really wish I was able to attend Day 2. I’ll definitely try to attend again. I’ll at least be attending my local anime con – Anime Evolution, though my friend tells me that I’ll be disappointed after having been exposed to AFA.

I’ve still got more to experience here, and I’ve already taken quite a number of photos of Singapore – the next most proliferating anime hub on the internetz. So stay tuned to check out what Singapore is like!

A new PSP Bundle will be available, offering a customized Silver portable console, engraved with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep symbols on its back and obviously, a retail copy of the game.

Jak obiecałem w poprzednim wpisie, zamieszczam najnowsze materiały z FFXIII i Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

W przypadku FFXIII pojawiło się tylko takie zdjęcie. Gdy pojawi się więcej, zaktualizuję wpis. Na razie możecie zobaczyć, że z Adamantoisem można faktycznie walczyć! Na innym screenie widać z kolei, iż potwory będą walczyć między sobą o teren.

W materiale poświęconym Birth By Sleep (ktoś bardziej postarał się ze skanem) widzimy natomiast między innymi nową postać, niejakiego Braiga, przejawiającego zainteresowanie Keyblade’ami. Magazyn sugeruje, że tak mógł wyglądać niegdyś Xigbar z Organization XIII. Widać również trójkę głównych bohaterów przebranych w zbroje jakie mogliśmy zobaczyć w dodatkowym zakończeniu KH2. To może się jednak ograniczać tylko do Mirage Arena, gdzie — jak przy okazji podano — będziemy mogli zmierzyć się w walce z przyjaciółmi (nie wiem tylko czy chodzi o growych przyjaciół czy o rzeczywistych; chyba jednak ci drudzy).

Pojawiło się kilka informacji więcej. Odnośnie FFXIII – Grand Pulse (グラン＝パルス) to rozległe miejsce z monstrami olbrzymiej wielkości. Ujawniono przy okazji, że umieszczenie znak równości (cokolwiek miałby znaczyć) w niektórych nazwach czy nazwiskach to standardowa praktyka w tamtym miejscu.

W wielu miejscach Pulse napotykać będziemy dziwne obiekty będące tym co zostało z l’Cie niepotrafiących wykonać swoich zadań. Są one określano jako (mniej więcej) “mroczne monumenty” (冥碑). Będzie przy nich można przyjmować misje polegające na ubiciu specjalnych przeciwników.

W kwestii mini-gier z Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep – są to Fruit Ball (strzelanie goli piłką przypominającą owoc), Keyblade Ride (wyścigi) oraz Rhytmic Ice (wciskanie przycisków do rytmu). Wszystkie znajdować się będą w nowym świecie – Disney Town.

Wow… hi there everyone that still watches this blog, I really appreciate your persistance. I’m really sorry this blog hasn’t updated in, wow, months actually. I just got REALLY busy leading up to and after my Japan trip (which was wonderful I must say, really it was) and therefore this blog hasn’t been updated in a while. I’m behind on a lot of stuff so I’ll need to catch up, but for now I’m going to try and get back into my regular blogging schedule… hopefully.

However after all this time I didn’t come back empty handed. Get ready all you Kingdom Hearts fans, becaus according to Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep’s Official Japanese Website, the Japanese release date for the game has been set to January 9th, 2010 (a mer 52 days away!) No word on an Official North American or European release, but for now this will do; I just wanna know it’s gonna be out soon. Go check out their website if you have the time, it’s pretty nice and has all kinds of goodies~ (like the new game is including a world for Lilo and Stitch – about time! >3<)

W dniu dzisiejszym Square Enix oraz Disney, choćby poprzez Game Watch, poinformowało o wydaniu nowego zestawu w którego skład wejdzie PSP-3000 i najnowsza część Kingdom Hearts o podtytule Birth By Sleep. Oczywiście opublikowano zdjęcia.

Game Watch informuje, iż kupując taki bunde pack zaoszczędzicie 890 yenów. Trafi on do sprzedaży wraz z grą, czyli 9 stycznia, w cenie 22,000Y.

Przypominamy, że KH BBS to prequel rozgrywający się przed wydarzeniami z KH1. Zawierać będzie między innymi multiplay, zwiastun nowej części a także masę całkowicie odjechanych pomysłów Tetsu-chana.

This is the Limited Edition PSP that has been made for Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. It will be released on the 9th of January 2010and will be bundled with a copy of the game too. The retail price is ¥22,000 (USD$245/£147).

Don’t expect to see this outside of Japan though, as with most Limited Edition PSPs it will only be released over there. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep still doesn’t have a Western release date yet but one day I’m sure it will arrive (Hopefully).

La gente que vea esto se va a quedar “jajajaja Fantasy no dibuja asi, que copiona”. Ok, si quiero aprender yo misma me tengo que ayudar de algo, vale? ok. Lo cierto es que eso no es ni copiado realmente. Hace tiempo lei que hay unos muñecos con multiples articulaciones que usan los artistas para ayudarse de poses etc etc… cosa que a mi me haria falta, MUCHA falta.. entre mis problemas de proporcion y que no tengo imaginacion para hacer poses ni que salgan bien, bueno.. Decidi ayudarme de algo asi, el problema es que, ni tengo dinero, ni ganas, ni tiempo de buscar un muñeco asi para comprarlo. Hasta que se me ocurrio la idea de usar el MikuMikuDance, y me ayudo. Pongo una pose, la copio y me ayuda, obviamente poniendo otro personaje, dandole mi estilo, mi coloreado, mis detalles y lo que yo quiera, solo uso la pose, cuello y la posicion de los ojos, que es lo que mas me cuesta. El pelo y lo demas acabo apañandomelas para hacerlo bien. Fijense:

Misma pose, nada mas. Ademas que comparando con el dibujo de Xion que hice arriba, ni siquiera la cara es igual, ahi ya meti un poco de mi “estilo” por asi decirlo, aunque aun ni tengo. Miku tiene el cuerpo to largo y grande, mientras que Xion al ser estilo KH es mas/algo mas, pequeña por asi decirlo, ahi tambien me centre en no hacerle un cuerpo tan asi como el de Miku. Ademas de los estilos, SÉ que Xion esta rara, muy rara, pero porque ella es estilo KH, que suele ser medio 3D con unos ojos algo mas reales.. y esto es medio anime ok. Me gusta como me salio, veo que tiene parte de mi toque personal y a la vez no, por guiarme por el MikuMikuDance, pero vamos, para ayudarme a aprender, me gusta, y si me quedan medio bonitos/decentes, pues tambien.

A peticion de Dani, le hice a Genis, que le gusta muxo C:.

Aqui ya me duele un poco, porque es clavado, medio clavado al de la serie oficial, CLAVADO si. Use a Len del MikuMikuDance para hacer esa pose, lo malo es que, me descuide y no guarde la captura x_x;; y no tengo pruebas de que saque ahi la pose, mas que nada porque me pueden acusar de copiona del propio anime, joer, es clavado vale?. Tiene sus diferencias, al igual que Xion copiada de pose de Miku, la cara de Miku ni la copie (las caras del MikuMikuDance las veo muy extrañas aveces) y le agrege mi toque personal. PERO, en el caso de Genis, mi “estilo” de cara, se parece mucho mucho al original… pero es mia la manera de dibujarle :/ solo copie la pose y la posicion de los ojos, la expresion y lo demas es MIO, al igual que el coloreado, detalles, arrugas de ropa, etc etc.. Hasta me moleste en agregarle el brillo al coloreado, porque en la ref que use para dibujarle, ni tenia.

Venga, criticas adelante xD solo digo que por ahora ire asi dibujando, estoy agusto, contenta y me ayuda.. Obviamente no siempre, ire aprendiendo poco a poco por MI cuenta.

I’m going to be posting a couple entries that I’ve written recently in other blogs, just so ol’ Cocktail can have some content until my creative juices get flowing again. This one stars Mr. Nobody from the Kingdom Hearts series who gets my vote for one of the most memorable RPG characters ever.

(For those unfamiliar, that image of him is a fan-rendering, and he doesn’t QUITE look like that in the actual series, but it looked so nice, I had to use it. I don’t know who the artist is, but if it’s on Google image search, I consider it fair game. The rest of the world seems to think so for anything I throw together for Wikipedia, anyway…)

But be aware that there a lot of spoilers, especially regarding the entire storyline (and the big twist) of the recent 358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS. If you don’t wanna know anything about Xion, the entire chronicles of Roxas, some key plot elements from the first two Kingdom Hearts titles (including some mention of KHII’s ending), and even a possible plot twist for the upcoming Birth by Sleep, then steer clear. I ain’t responsible for what your eyes behold… Got it memorized?

Ever since the inception of Roxas, playing Kingdom Hearts games makes me extremely sad.

I wanted to cry after the first 7 days of KHII when Roxas accepted his fate to return to Sora’s body after fighting for so long for the right to exist as his own person. Now I’ve played through 358/2 Days, and if a year of Roxas having to deal with the fact he’s not supposed to exist wasn’t depressing enough, now we have Xion, a girl who becomes one of his best friends, but who is supposed to exist even less than Roxas!

(Whereas Roxas was a Nobody, an empty, emotionless vessel left behind when Sora released his heart from his body in the first game, Xion was artificially created as a replica of Sora who took an identity of its own represented by Sora’s strongest emotion, his feelings for Kairi…

Which is a load of butter, I might add, considering Sora barely reacted to his long-awaited reunion with Kairi in KHII, but he basically spewed baby-batter against his skivvies when he finally met up with Riku again, and the whole ending of KHII was essentially a glorified SoraxRiku yaoi love-pie waiting to happen.)

Anyway, I digress…

So an entire game of the two main protagonists, Roxas and Xion, searching for their memories of their past lives, and struggling to accept they cannot be their own persons once discovering they have no past or memories to hold onto… No right to live their own lives, to have their own feelings, to exist any longer… Because they are fated to return to Sora’s body so he can awaken and save the universe from the Organization and the Heartless.

And not only that, but their strength see-saws; if one becomes stronger, the other weaker, until one disappears forever. Best friends struggling to help one another find their pasts, unknowingly existing as pieces of the same puzzle, and unintentionally one another’s eventual undoing.

To make matters even worse, once they return to Sora’s body, no one remembers them anymore. There are no remnants of their existence… Forever gone without a trace. Their struggles, hopes, dreams, aspirations, and accomplishments erased from everyone’s mind.

And the tale of Roxas isn’t even over… We’re getting Birth by Sleep in the next year or so, taking place a decade before the first Kingdom Hearts title. One of the three main protagonists is a boy named Ventus who looks EXACTLY like Roxas. Now I’m curious to see how Squenix explains why Sora’s Nobody took the form of Ventus, and how Ventus is ultimately connected to Sora.

I know Ventus is going to have some kind of relation with Xigbar (or as he was known in his human form, Barig). Xion’s appearance is said to be a mirror; this is why she looks like Kairi to Roxas, because of Kairi’s strong presence in the memories of Sora (the memories of which encompass Roxas and Xion). But when Xigbar is battling Xion, she takes the appearance of Ventus, which had the gamer not read up on Birth by Sleep, they would have mistaken for Roxas (except for the clothes).

I read something on a YouTube comment that mentioned Ventus “became Sora’s Keyblade,” therefore when Sora released his heart, his Nobody took the form of Ventus. Possible, but I’m not buying it yet.

Yeesh… My head hurts. For a Disney crossover franchise, KH probably has one of the most solemn, poetic, and down-right brain-fucky storylines I’ve ever experienced.
