O podio ficou assim distribuido:

1º Gonçalo Gomes

2º Henrique Cláudio

3º em exequo : Nuno Farinhas, João Fernandes e André Pires

I finally got to test the new trigger. Bear in mind I sell them for UK and ireland , so i feel a review would be slightly biased.

At first i was horrified to hear that they had changed the trigger design to 3 struts instead of 5 , and had made some big profile changes.I have always thought if it aint broke dont fix it and the trigger was a fantastic all rounder for beginner and intermediate kiters in 2009. We got great feedback from all riders and testers. It did exactly what the blade product blurb said it would.

Ive had a test now (eventually ) and am very impressed and think that again that blade have delivered on their product aims.

Have a read of the marketing blurb and if it sounds like the sort of kite you are after just drop me a mail and i will arrange a demo kite for you.

blade trigger 2010 kite

ride everything

From its debut in 2009, the Trigger has been recognized for its Pump-and-Go style, delivering a perfect balance of power and control with minimal effort and bar movement. For 2010, the Trigger is designed to provide more depower, and the larger sized kites have been developed to deliver quicker turns. Keeping its great all around qualities, the result is a best of breed freeride kite.

All around kiters will love this kite for the simplicity of one kite that does it all and does it well – great pop, incredible stability, tremendous low wind ability, and effortless relaunch. When you’re riding waves, you will appreciate the Triggers quick, direct turns. With the 2010 Trigger, you’ll get the most of windy days by riding in most conditions, while other riders will find themselves ending sessions early.

The Blade 2010 Trigger is such a competent kite that its all around ability can be enjoyed by new riders, while it’s sophisticated characteristics deliver a seriously good ride for even the most skilled kiters.

• Direct turns

• Tremendous low end wind abilities

• Incredibly stable

• Power-up from the start

• Great pop

• Blades Reflex Relaunch System

blade 2010 kite technology
educate yourself
Blade’s 2010 kite line begins with the combined knowledge and experience of years of kite design and
technology, but the real development is on the beach, at our design headquarters and around the world
where hundreds of prototypes are tested every year, every day. While we can’t fit a year’s worth of R&D
here, we can share a few of the techniques that contribute to the impressive ride characteristics of the
2010 Trigger, Vertigo, and Prime.

Reflex Relaunch

The name of this exciting new development in kiting technology says it all. The innovative kite shape,
forces the tips of the kite out of the water, so there is virtually no work to be done by the rider to get the
kite back up in the air. Found in both the Trigger and the Vertigo, the Reflex Relaunch system activates an
instinctive response in the kite to relaunch the second it hits the water.
Three Struts
A well tested design principle of bridled kites is that when the bar is pulled, the force of the pull continues
effectively through the canopy until hitting a strut, at which point the force is weakened. The strut placement
in a three strut kite design allows the force to affect a larger portion of the kite than a five strut design
– resulting in faster turns, a more direct feel, and enhanced relaunch abilities.
For mid or low aspect ratio kites, the performance benefits inherent in a three strut kite have always been
recognized, but their inefficiency in maintaining kite shape made them undesirable. Blade has been
working to innovate the three strut design, and after three years of development we are very excited with
the performance we have achieved. For 2010, the Trigger and Vertigo are developed using three strut
designs which maintain the shape of the kite. Combined with other design techniques, the new three
strut design provides low and mid aspect ratio kites with improved Reflex Relaunch, a more direct feel,
and faster turns.
Construction
We use the best material available on the market with uncompromising construction. Blade kites are developed
to reach the ideal balance between heavy duty build quality and lightweight efficient
performance. Finding that balance comes from knowledge, experience and endless long term product
testing. Keeping high end performance in mind, we build our kites to last – they can take the hardest hits
to keep you in the water and out of the repair shop.

• MAD2 – The Blade designed valve pieces are 100% foolproof and will have you pumped and
ready to go in minutes.
• Tough Guard – The durable leading edge is doubly reinforced with additional webbing and
double layered insignia tape to protect the stitching preventing LE blowouts.
• Reinforced Trailing Edge – Double Teijin Ripstop material protects the delicate areas of the
kite for increased durability.
• Leading Edge Protectors – The redesigned double layered protectors are more aerodynamic
while still providing the same great protection.
• Front Defense – Insignia tape borders the LE and other critical areas to protect your kite
against collisions and abrasive outdoor elements.
• Z Cubed Stitch – An innovative stitching procedure that provides three layers of stitching
above the Insignia Tape and serves as triple protection in the critical connection of the canopy to the
struts.
• Kevlar Guard – An innovative shield used to protect the end of the struts and LE, especially
in case of impact of friction with hard surfaces.
Isolated Bridle System (IBS)

The Isolated Bridle System (IBS) found in the Blade 2010 kite line, separates the back lines from the front
lines and efficiently distributes forces along the length of the leading edge. This highly efficient design is
kept simple and fast, providing the rider with a very direct feeling, typical of a C Kite.
In 2010 we’ve refined the IBS by designing bridal connections almost to the center of the kite. This new
system enhances more leverage in the angle of attack resulting in substantially increased depower of the
kite.

Turning Axis

Turning is one of the key performance characteristics which differentiate each of our kites. Being directly
connected with the kite’s power characteristics, turn handling is ultimately the reason why each kite fits
certain types of riders and riding styles. For experienced riders looking to reach their potential, we firmly
believe it is irrelevant to think in the “one kite fits all” philosophy.
The Prime’s turn axis is designed all the way at the tip of the kite, which generates a maximum power
turn and doesn’t release any power throughout the movement. This is ideal for stable full power freestyle
maneuvers and those looking for an extreme ride.
The Vertigo’s low aspect ratio and central turning axis allows it to perform tight pivot turns which can release
power as needed. This is one of the key reasons why it is considered one of the most well mannered
wave riding kites.
The Trigger’s turn axis is positioned in between the two, giving a mid-pivot turn that is a balanced blend of
both characteristics. This is ideal for those who want a kite that can do it all with a great all around ride.
Power
Always looking for ways to increase power without sacrificing the usable performance of the kite, the
2010 kite line is stronger than ever before. In addition to each kite employing a different turning axis, the
kites are designed with unique profiles, each delivering specific performance traits complementing the
kite’s other design characteristics.
Normally, designers do not use the strongest profiles available because they have to allow the kite adequate
depower abilities. With the refined IBS feature of this year’s kite line providing plenty of depower,
we were able to employ significantly stronger profiles in all the kites across the line. The 2010 Blades
harness even more controllable power than our previous designs, now it’s in your hands to take it to the
next level.

If you cannot live without the journey sport of kiteboarding, then what you need is the Cabrinha Cro

If you cannot live without the journey sport of kiteboarding, then what you need is the Cabrinha Crossbow. The company that makes the Cabrinha Crossbow, Cabrinha Kites, was the idea of Pete Cabrinha. Pete was a huge wave surfer from the U. His dedication to water sports events has made him an excellent and a pioneer in his field. He has additionally been presenting kitesurfing appliances to help others like him enjoy water sports too.

Thanks to the foil-like shape, both the rear as well as the front-lines of the Cabrinha Crossbow can get attached to the forefront. There are a sequence of pulleys that permit the bar to enhance the depower, and there is not any Recon or 5th line, either.

Using the Cabrinha Crossbow is easy also and is completely safe when the user is adequately trained. All you’ll need to do is just pull the rear line and the kite will roll over and relaunch. The Cabrinha Crossbow is sure to be plenty of fun for the rider who loves the massive air and the waves. The Cabrinha Crossbow uses the corporation’s exclusive IDS technology and that is why it is typically known as Cabrinha Crossbow Ids.

Each and every Cabrinha Crossbow and all of the other products are hand tested by real folk in extreme water and wind conditions, which is how you can be sure that they may always deliver quality products.

The company makes various kinds of kites like the Convert, Cabrinha Switchblade and naturally the Cabrinha Crossbow. When you pair a kite with a board from Cabrinha like the Prodigy, Rival, Cabrinha Custom, Plasma or the Caliber, you’ll have something that’s just excellent for the lake or surfside wakes. you will still have to make sure that you’ve got the correct fins, bindings, and harness, and that everything is stowed correctly in the bag for the entire kiteboarding package.

2010 Cabrinha Crossbow

The 2010 Cabrinha Crossbow is the speediest kite in its class in the world. In fact, the Corporation has put in years of refinement and the result is there for all to see – it is the best performing free ride Race kit that you’ll be able to find. It has the capacity of winning the most competitive course races in the world like the U.S. It is among the 3 kites in the world that will beat the velocity barrier of 50 knots. It is, actually, the essence of security, flexibility, control, and speed.

Cabrinha Crossbow 9M

The legacy of the 9M continues and it remains a leading performance bow kite. Designed for potency and maximum performance, the Crossbow two stands out thanks to the wave, free go reputation and hang-time. Based on the Pro Span extraordinary arc, its performance has improved even more due to reinforced durability, the new sprint and Override systems and the faster flying options.

Are you ready to jump? Just send the kite and you would not be pulled from the edge. Just pull the bar when you are in the air and while coming down, you’ll have to sheet out using the bar to fall under your kite. Extended depower of the Cabrinha Crossbow gives you extended range – it gives you the range of 3 kites. Now you can watch all of your chums using smaller kites as you use your Cabrinha Crossbow. The depower of your Cabrinha Crossbow works on both the unfastened and the hooked riding.

Get to know it all about the amazing Cabrinha Crossbow.
Go through the Crossbow review at http://www.othersideboardsports.com/kiteboarding/cabrinha.html to learn more.

Daje nam zdrowie i lepsze samopoczucie. Zdrowy tryb życia to ewidentnie ćwiczenia, ruch, dbanie o ładną sylwetkę.

Big smiles, big air and big waves for South Coast riders… It’s been nice to see lots of

Big smiles, big air and big waves for South Coast riders…

It’s been nice to see lots of people out along the South Coast this week; seeing lots of kitesurfers and windsurfers along the coast from Brighton/Hove, Shoreham, Lancing, Worthing, Goring, Littlehampton and beyond (is there anywhere else? Not that we need to travel when there are south-westerly winds!).

You’re going to see lots more of the same over the next week or so as the forecast is bloody great! Today’s already quite fruity as gusting high 40’s and looks like we’ll keep 7m weather for the rest of the day. If you’re a low tide rider there’s still just enough light left for you to squeeze sessions today and tomorrow. Tomorrow the wind looks equally fruity but could chill out a bit towards the end of the day.

If you’re still leaning to kitesurf and are in need of slightly calmer winds than we’ve been experiencing then Friday is looking good for you, don’t wait for the weekend as the wind is due to kick in again and could well be bang on shore. Tuesday next week is looking like another good day for you but don’t the forecasts like to change!!

Had a really nice ride on Monday in Hove and it was really nice to see some of the Hove kitesurf massive out, you know who you are. Had a chance to put the 7m 2010 Cabrinha Switchblade for a couple of runs now and, like the rest of the 2010 Cabrinha range, it did not disappoint. Super east to control and relaunch, with a constant pull and direct feel; can’t wait to get back out on it to give it a more of a test run but so far I’ve not found a fault.

Zaafaran Student Trip feedback has been great and everyone loved the spot, our group and the fact they had wind everyday. 2010 Cabrinha Nomads, Crossbows and Converts were taken out to test and have been given both thumbs up from the guys. Chris has been loving the Nomad and claims it’s the best kite he’s ever flown for unhooked riding. Cabrinha have been doing lots right and have not only changed the look of their kite range but have managed to improve the performance – thank you Cabrinha! Kitesurfkings had already ordered the full Cabrinha range, for the school, personal use and resale before they came out, all based on the success of previous years, fortunately there are NO regrets!

Here’s the report from the BBC: Two kite surfers from West Sussex took advantage of strong win

Here’s the report from the BBC:

Two kite surfers from West Sussex took advantage of strong winds on the south coast to realise an ambition to jump over Worthing pier.

Jake Scrace, 25, and Lewis Crathern, 24, had been planning Monday morning’s jump for three years but had to wait for perfect weather conditions.

Carpenter Mr Scrace, who makes kite boards, and professional kite surfer Mr Crathern are both from Worthing.

Between them they have 16 years’ experience in the sport.

They took off from Goring to the west side of Worthing in gusts of wind that were more than 40mph, and had two helpers on the beach.

The pair said the jump was quite hazardous and should not be attempted by amateurs.

“It was probably the most terrifying thing I’ve ever built up to,” said Scrace.

“We were practising down the road and we were pretty confident we were going to do it but as soon as we got nearer the pier it was quite hard.”

Mr Crathern said the jump was “epic”.

“It was everything I’ve lived for – amazing,” he said.

Here’s the link to check out the video: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/8362671.stm?ls

Post drinking day on the water – forecast was for 25-35mph. I packed the car with only the 7m as I have really gone off big kites …. just not the kiting I like anymore.

Wind wasnt quite strong enough – I normally sail in winds were I have to use the depower …. but today was a bit underpowered. Still good 2 hours on the water …..

Had hood and gloves but barefoot still – although think booties might have to make an appearance soon.

We couldn’t see anyone kitesurfing in Hove, Shoreham or Lancing. Went to the beach to check out the conditions and the sea looked inviting but with it being dead southerly and gusting over 50 knots we headed to the Beach Café for a cuppa and a bit of munch. After gusts of 71mph (Sea Sprite) at 1pm the wind swung around to SW and down to 38 knots; Hon and I went to pump up our kites on Shoreham Beach with the excitement of nippers at Christmas.

The kite of choice was a brand new 7m Switchblade 2010. Fully depowered and sheeted out I managed just two tacks and was taken up by one gusty loft, not much fun but had to christen the new kite. Decided to pump up a 5m Convert but another squall came through pumping 60+ and so packed up and called it a day.

The windsurfers looked like they were having a blast, even the one that got washed up without his kit whilst we were packing up. Maximum respect to the sea, Mother Nature and anyone that decided to sit today out.

On the up side we met some really nice guys on the beach and in the Café; Sunday, Monday and into next week are all looking good.

There will be more info on the 2010 kit and Zaafarana Student Session imminently.

Hello!

Not had swine flu yet? Keep it that way, it sucks!! Kite surfing lessons have still been carried out buy the KSK’s team and our Student Session to Zaafarana continued as planned, gutted I didn’t get to join the session to Zaf but we still had two IKO instructors for the group and everyone has been having a blinder, wind everyday! New guys that are now kite surfers! Yeah baby!! More details when the guys get back next week.

So, Zaafarana…

Maybe not the place to go on your own but if you’re interested in joing a group then we have Beginner Kitesurfing Sessions and Advanced Kite Clinics planned for 2010 – don’t miss out, get in contact.

Brighton, Shoreham, Lancing and South Coast kitesurfing in general has been a challenge in terms of kite surfing lessons because there’s not as much light any more and the wind has either been too light or too strong; Kitesurfkings are not giving up on you! We are still teaching and will continue to do so. Lessons are cancelled for tomorrow as 60mph winds and 15ft swell is not what we’re looking for but it could be good times for experienced kite surfers.

2010 Cabrinha kit has been making its way to us in bits and pieces, we love you Cabrinha kites! How nice are the 2010 Cabrinha kites!!! If you have not seen, flown or investigated them yet then what have you been doing?! Kitesurfkings are agents for Cabrinha Kitesurfing and have Cabrinha Switchblades, Cabrinha Converts, Cabrinha Crossbows and Cabrinha Nomads in stock – Cabrinha tastic!! Give me a call directly to chat kit and deals (Luke 07878 399 419). I’m looking forward to trying the smaller sized kites tomorrow and getting to play on the new Cabrinha Custom board; I’ve had a play already and it is like no other board, a nice toy to add to the colection. Anyway, kit, kit, kit…

Hope to see the South Coast massive representing South Coast kitesurfing tomorrow, it’s gonna be big! If you’re still early days or still learning to kitesurf (hopefully we’re all still learning – hope you know what I mean) then just hang out and save it for Sunday as it could be a lot calmer.

26th of November is the big day. Finally I am off for some holiday time in Egypt. This time there is a mix of diving and kitesurfing activities planned. The place I will go this time is Dahab in Egypt. Dahab is a former beduin settlement about an hours drive north of Sharm el Sheikh. Plenty of information about Dahab can be found online.

The hotel I will be staying at is “Le Meridien Dahab Resort” overlooking the gulf of Aqaba.

Great day at the beach.

Well any day that involves kiting on a 7m is good in my books. Was going to be kiting with a pal and so i dropped my daughter of at nursery then bombed down to the coast. I was on the water at 11am – just one other kite out and 4 windsurfers (it’s rare to be outnumbered these days)

Onshore wind veering cross onshore as the rain squalls came though. Wind was gusting 18-26knots and once it actually dropped to about 14 and nearly had to do the walk of shame back up the beach.

A few little wave kickers coming in and had some lovely floaty jumps … I really love the Waroo – wish my 12m was one as well.

No kiteloops …. no raileys or anything fancy just floaty jumps and board grabs.

Packed up and Ed arrived but after 2.5 hrs I was bushed. Back to Glasgow and popped in the Western Baths quickly for a sauna (and only here did I feel my toes) and shower. Then picked up daughter home and put her to bed before friends came around for dinner. Pretty smashed but that’s a separate issue ……

On a nice an sunny day in May I rented a car and went kiteboarding in Shoeburryness, at the mouth of the River Thames. With me a collegue (Andrea) and her friend (Ursl) from Germany. Both were very keen on getting their first experiences in kitesurfing. The conditions were perfect, sunny around 15 to 20 knots and almost no waves. We all had a fantastic time. To be repeated next summer.
