Voorop de hoempa-pa, dan de adelborsten in statig pak, dan de landmacht in groen overal. Ze zijn nog jong, hebben nog geen oorlog gezien, hebben nog geen napalm geroken ..maar synchroon lopen kunnen ze. Indrukwekkend.

Dinsdagmiddag liepen twaalfhonderd soldaten in opleiding in parade door Breda. Onder hen waren driehonderd adelborsten (mariniers in opleiding) uit Den Helder. Reden was de verjaardag van de Koninklijke Militaire Academie (KMA) die gevestigd is in de binnenstad van Breda.

181 jaar
De KMA werd opgericht in 1828. Sindsdien zit de officiersopleiding in het kasteel van Breda. Aan Generaal der Strijdkrachten Peter van Uhm, ooit zelf kadet aan de KMA, was het de eer om het defilé op de Grote Markt af te nemen. Van Uhm verklaarde op Omroep Brabant het van groot belang te vinden om contact te hebben met de jonge generatie soldaten. “Dit is de toekomst van de krijgsmacht, dus de toekomst van Nederland”, aldus Van Uhm.

Soldaten in opleiding steunen verlenging missie Uruzgan

TILBURG – De eventuele verlenging van de missie in Uruzgan stuit op weinig verzet van toekomstige militairen. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van deze krant onder soldaten in opleiding van de Koninklijke Militaire Academie (KMA) te Breda.
Minister van Middelkoop (Defensie) liet afgelopen vrijdag weten zich niet te verzetten tegen een afgeslankte voortzetting van de missie in Afghanistan. Hij kan rekenen op bijval van de troepen. Majoor L. Delleman, docent aan de KMA: “Er is ondertussen een hechte band opgebouwd met stamhoofden en dorpsbewoners rondom Kamp Holland, het zou zonde zijn om alle opgedane ervaring weg te gooien.”.
Volgens Delleman is er een hoge bereidheid van soldaten in opleiding om uitgezonden te worden naar Afghanistan: “Daar tekenen ze immers voor.”.
In tegenstelling tot van Middelkoop is minister Bos tegen een mogelijke verlenging. Zonder de steun van de Partij van de Arbeid kan er geen kamermeerderheid behaald worden en is het plan gedoemd te mislukken.Door

I enjoy working, it doesn’t matter what it is as long as there is an end result.
With driving in the UK, it’s easy to get into tight situations and what would be easy in lets say a car, can be the thing of nightmares in a truck.
I guess it’s one of the reasons I will never do ex-farm.
There is a degree of personal satisfaction when you achieve a very basic goal, but in the greater scheme of things, this pales into insignificance when you you consider the number of people doing these things and there is always so much more to do.
The other issue is the wages – in the South West of the UK, the moment you drop below Bristol the wages plummet! Yet the cost of living is much higher! This is a far cry from the days of contracting in Comms and IT, and certainly much less than the days spent ‘house-bashing’ which I used to do many years ago.
But the one benefit is that you’re part of slightly greater thing, the stuff being delivered is mainly consumable and you soon realise just what a knife edge this industry runs on.

It’s really quite odd, hold on – let me explain, I use Twitter quite a bit and one of the people I follow (KMA) someone quite well-known in the UK – who literally lives the next village or so along, She also lives in London during the week and irony being is that the milk she uses in London every day – probably comes from the farm at the end of her road here. Really, it’s no joke. Nearly all the milk from this particular local area either ends up at Oakthorpe in London or Bridgwater Dairy – so you see what I mean by odd.

However, the financial return and personal toll are simply incompatible, as I have mentioned in previous posts and I think it’s high time I put myself back on the contractors job market – besides, all I’m really doing here is getting fat! lol.

Here is a rough map of the roads I’ve traveled in the last week, most of which have been traveled several times – London twice, Westbury 4 times, Cadburys 3 times and so on. (click on the map to see the full size image)

I miss it already.  The interactive installation ‘Volume’ which was ‘touring’ Federation Square in Melbourne over the past month or so has been packed away, getting ready for its next city.  What am I going to look at now while I wait for my tram?  Oh well, thank you youtube for feeding my lust before the next installation hits town.

Siendo esto como una subsidiaria de Waraños, o mejor dicho, un ente descentralizado de Waraños (…), este blog va dirigido a todo; desde lo más charlatán y banal, hasta la temática más doctrinaria y jurisprudencial. Son dos caras de una misma persona que no han logrado mezclarse, para lograrlo necesito tomarlas a ambas en serio, y la vida es demasiado corta para calamidades existenciales.

Ewig gleiche Mode von der Stange, möglichst noch von kleinen ausgebeuteten Kinderhänden angefertigt, ödet mich schon lange an. Daher liebe ich es, daheim und auf Reisen die kleinen lokalen Läden der heimischen ModemacherInnen aufzusuchen. Da finde ich immer was, auch zu rationalen Preisen. Und für besonders schöne Stücke lass ich mich auch mal dazu hinreissen, tiefer in die Tasche zu greifen. Zum Ausgleich sinds dann halt nur ein paar wenige ausgewählte Stücke im Jahr, an denen ich lange meine Freude habe. Kurz gesagt: Klasse statt Masse.

Der jährliche Modepalast im Museumsquartier, die Messe für individuelle österreichische DesignerInnen und ihren europäische Gäste, wird daher jedes Jahr dick im Kalender markiert. Unkonventionelle Stile, wunderbare Stoffe, witzige Ideen wohin das Auge blickt! In der Preispalette von 10.- bis 600.- Euro ist alles dabei und bei keinem Stück hatte ich das Gefühl, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis würde nicht stimmen. Es ist einfach ein Vergnügen die saubere Verarbeitung der Modelle zu begutachten, die ungewöhnlichen Schnitte zu bewundern und nebenbei noch ein Schwätzchen mit den ModemacherInnen zu halten.

Meine Favoriten dieses Jahr:

km/a – das freche Label Katha Harrers fiel mir das erste Mal schon vor rund einem Jahrzehnt auf, als ich ihre ersten Kleider aus Windjackenstoff entdeckte. Und sie wird immer besser!

FAC - die Fashion Art Center Linie der Bulgarin Mariela Gemisheva ist ein Traum. In aufwändiger Verarbeitung kombiniert sie außergewöhnliche Stoffe, von hauchzart bis grob, vorrangig Weiß auf Weiß zu zauberhaften Kleidern.

Studio-Eposh – Die Niederländerin Elleke van Gorsel verwandelt Tücher in Kunstwerke!

Hypnosis Berlin – Niklas Kauffeld besticht durch raffiniert schräge Schnitte und humane Preise.

Elke Freytag – aus Klosterneuburg. Puritanische Eleganz, klare Linien, zarte Stoffe.

A marca é o principal componente da Imagem Corporativa de uma empresa, tornando-se na maioria das vezes o bem mais valioso de uma organização, “algumas marcas têm suas cotações na Bolsa de Nova York independente do valor de suas ações. Por exemplo: A Marlboro é uma das mais caras do mundo: vale mais de 44,61 bilhões de dólares”.

Podemos dizer que a marca é o ícone da organização, simboliza uma promessa formal para com os clientes, por trás desse ícone os consumidores identificam atributos, benefícios e serviços que a corporação oferece.

Após a chegada da “Era da Informação” as marcas ganharam ainda mais valorização no contexto da comunicação das empresas. Devido a isso, as corporações investem muito tempo e recursos na intenção de criar, consolidar ou manter uma marca forte. Segundo Philip Kotler, “um dos gurus da administração” uma marca é complexa e pode apresentar até seis níveis de significado. Vamos procurar entender com esse artigo o uso do apelo sexual pelas marcas (cervejas, cigarros, moda…).

Nosso corpo é o meio de comunicação dos mais primitivos. É, sem dúvida, um sistema de comunicação, e também um sistema de comunicação sexual. Em todo momento, emitimos sinais para atrair possíveis parceiros, porque nosso lado biológico se preocupa com a perpetuação da espécie. At the 6th annual Korean Music Awards taken place on March 12, Netizens picked Wonder Girls as “Group of the Year.”
Since the Wonder Girls were unable to attend because of their US activities, JYP rep Jung Wook accepted the award on their behalf, and said, “Wonder Girls could not attend the award ceremony because of their activities in the US, however they have been anticipating the results of this award show. Diseases are part of the daily concerns of citizen and governments of most African countries. That is, millions of African die annually from AIDS, Malaria, etc. Most African governments have dedicated substantial resources to address these concerns; however, providing heath services to a growing population appear to be a

challenging endeavor. Ehealth initiatives offer some innovative solutions to overcome some of the obstacles. That is, the ability to bring closer health providers and patients through the use of Internet enabled services. Most of the existing literature primarily focuses on the particular ehealth technology (e.g. Telemedicine) and the users of the technology (e.g. physicians).

Why should Kenya embrace eHealth solutions?

 In Kenya eHealth solutions and applications are at their infancy. But this should not be so as patients are increasingly turning to Internet for medical solutions why is this so?

• Patients are increasingly using the Internet to research medical conditions

• Physicians view this behavior as a mixed blessing: on the one hand some patients are better informed, on the other hand patients may come in with a lot of misinformation that the physician has to spend time correcting

• Some physicians are spending more time keeping up to date because patients who come in are better informed than they are

• Face time with physicians is only about 10 minutes per visit

Medical patients in Kenya; one has to assume that these patients are middle class. Still, it points out an important truth: as long as people have uncensored Internet access (and understand written English) they can use all the sites that an American or other rich country resident can. Sure, not all the information is relevant, but much of it is.

There’s a chronic shortage of medical personnel in Africa and it’s not going to get a lot better anytime soon. On the other hand, access to the Internet is growing fast: partly through laptop and desktop computers, but also through cell phones. Finding ways for scarce and expensive doctors and nurses to leverage online medical information and decision support tools will be a key to improving access to quality health care for poor countries in all parts of the world.

Health 2.0 companies might also want to look to contributors from outside the rich countries. Although such contributors won’t be highly valued by advertisers and other sponsors, they are certainly capable of generating valuable content that can enhance the value of the site overall. I haven’t seen many Health 2.0 companies pursuing such a strategy explicitly, but I expect that to change within a year or so especially with the entry of Afyanet Africa into the market, a company dedicated to medical ICT information and networking of health care personnel in the east African region.

We should note that a time is coming when most patients will only go to the doctor for the prescription, since after consulting the Internet they know what they are suffering from. Hence more effort should be directed in developing accredited medical websites with local content and supervised by the ministry of health MOH or other government body such as Kenya medical association (KMA) Pharmacy and poisons board (PPB) etc.

Tanisha, the stripper, was probably stringing me along so she could get more money from me at the titty club. I can understand the tactic – most men are motivated by the prospect of sex. But, I am an eclectic man, and dangling the carrot of sex in front of me does not motivate me. Instead, I simply go to where I can get the sex. And, when I do find the sex, it is the sex, not the illusion or promise, that motivates me.

Nubi, the voluptuous intrigue, probably spoke with someone she knows and heard some kind of statement like, “And, he’s married? I’d be careful. If he is divorcing, you don’t want to get in that mess. And, if he’s still married, you don’t need to be fooling around with some married man.”

Nubi told me she would like to get together with me over Labor Day weekend. Well, she never called me back to let me know when we could hook up.

I am not one who will chase a girl. Yes, I like chasing tail, but I do not put myself out chasing one particular girl. So, my response to Tanisha’s and Nubi’s lack of response was to permanently erase their numbers from my phone. Erasing their numbers was actually part of my Drunken Frustration night. I was feeling a little depressed from the thought that any woman would not be attracted to me and wish to spend time with me. After getting drunk, I quickly did not give a shit. In my anger, I erased their contact information and cleared my recent calls, permanently erasing all traces of their numbers. The next morning, suffering a hangover, I was a bit frustrated having erased their numbers. But then, my KMA quality in my personal character kicked in and kicked them no good girls out of my mind.

What is KMA? It is a powerful governing value I live my life by. K-M-A are the initials to a personal saying, “Kiss my ass.” That’s right, baby. Kiss my ass!

Yesterday, I met another girl at a McDonald’s where my work crew took our afternoon break.

She is a BBW girl with an incredibly pretty face and a very high standard of fashion. She has blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and rose colored lips. The other guys did not find her attractive as a woman they would hit on or fuck. But, they did admit she has a pretty face.

How we met…

The crew and I went to McDonald’s for our afternoon break after checking and clearing storm grates during an all-day rain, yesterday.

Entering the establishment, I noticed Sam sitting alone at a booth reading a magazine. As we ate, I would casually look over at her. Casually, but not hiding.

The crew and I had finished eating, but I was not satisfied and returned to the counter for a Dollar Menu item. Returning with my double cheeseburger, I picked up everyone’s trays and trash at our table. After dumping the trays, I casually walked over to the booth where Sam was quietly sitting and reading.

My hand hovered near her tray, giving the impression that I would pick it up. Not wanting to be rude, I asked with a smile, “Are you done with this, sweetheart?”

As if I were a ghost, she sharply looked up at me, agape. For a moment, I did not think she would answer. Maybe she is deaf and I startled her. Maybe she does not like strange men approaching her. Or, maybe I just fucked up and walked myself right into a women’s lib advocate lying in ambush for the next unsuspecting man for her to castrate.

“Yes, I am. Thank you,” she said with pleasantness and sweetness in her tone. The words rolled smoothly and gently off her moist, pink lips. Eye contact between us let me see a sparkle in her eye with a hint of sexual arousal.

My eyes lingered on her for just a brief moment, and then I promptly and gentlemanly removed her tray.

I returned to the table where my crew was sitting, and I finished my double cheeseburger.

Now, the crew and I had been boisterous with wit and silliness since entering the McDonald’s. However, it was only after I had initiated some kind of acquaintance with Sam that she began responding to our raucous, laughing at our jokes, rolling her eyes, and shaking her head.

She was showing interest.

Finished eating, the guy on my crew that I am most sociable with had to use the restroom. Doing so required him to walk right by Sam. As the rest of crew went outside, I acted like I was going to use the bathroom, too. Except, upon reaching Sam’s table, I allowed my co-worker to proceed as I paused and asked her with a smile, “You don’t mind if I join you, do you?”

“No. Please,” she responded with equal charm as her first words. I sat down, turning my body so I could rest my back against the wall, hanging my boots over the open end of the bench seat, and using the table as an arm rest.

There we sat together in her booth. She commented enjoying my antics with my crew, as I seemed to be the comedian of the bunch. She shared with me her love of football and the articles she was reading in her sports magazine, Sports Illustrated. She did not care that I do not follow football, but enjoyed laughing when I jokingly asked if she was a sports agent.

I enjoyed her attention, loveliness, beauty, and wonderful smile.

She gave me courtesy; she gave me respect. She gave me affection.

We exchanged names, but did not have an opportunity to discreetly exchange contact information due to the return of my co-worker.

At this time, I do not wish to share my sexual discontent and marital trouble with my co-workers. Therefore, I do not collect or share that kind of information with females when I am in the presence of my co-workers.

She told me where she works, and it is right across the street from the McDonald’s. I tried calling, today, but only received a recorded message explaining a list of representatives and their respective phone numbers.

I hope to see Sam, again. Perhaps she and I will hit things off, huh? No need hold my breath, as time will prove the course.

I like quotes, so here are some I wrote. Perhaps they will continue the hope of fleeting love’s return:

This song reminds me—Jerry Reed, country music artist and actor, recently died. I think his passing is a real shame. I like his movies, especially Smokey and the Bandit, and his music. I can not say I have all of his music, but I have some of his albums on mp3.
