The year 2009 is full if controversy both to the industry of K Pop and showbiz world of Korean. 2009 they said is the year of girl bands 5 Decades of Korean Girl Bands.

So many issues been running in this year. The power of internet can cause harmful to the entertainment industry just what happened to 2pm leader JaeBum.

The success of Girls Generation (or SNSD), Wonder Girls, and 2NE1 proved that 2009 was a year for female pop groups in Korea. The year marked the rise of girl bands in K-pop. Besides the three, other all-female K-pop groups who’ve made significant impact include Brown Eyed Girls, T-Ara, KARA, Davichi, 4Minute, f(x), and After School. SNSD ruled Korea in 2009 with their song “Gee” and bagged major awards.
4. Wonderful Wonder Girls
Entering the US entertainment industry has been a dream for many Korean artists—one that Wonder Girls successfully fulfilled this year. Not only did Wonder Girls tour with the Jonas Brothers, their song “Nobody” entered the Billboard Top 100, a first for a Korean pop group. They will launch their first US album next year.

We reported earlier on actor Kwon Sang Woo and Big Bang rapper T.O.P. being set to star in a new movie titled ‘Into The Gunfire’. After much anticipation, photo stills of the actors on set have been revealed!

The two began filming after the hit spy drama IRIS finally ended earlier this month. A representative from YG Entertainment had stated that T.O.P. would begin filming for the movie as soon as the drama was over. If you recall,YG turned down a lead role for another action drama that was offered to T.O.P. for this movie role.

Kwon Sang Woo said, “There’s a scene where we have to chase North Korean soldiers in cold weather but I slipped and felt embarrassed. However, after watching the crew go through even more hardship, it gave me strength to do better. We’re giving our all.”

T.O.P commented, “It’s an honor to be in such a big scale movie after IRIS. To complete the project, we’re working and rehearsing day and night.”

It’s great to see T.O.P.’s acting career going to new heights and the movie may be hitting the theaters in the summer, but you can check out the stills below.

That’s right, the Take 7 of Inkigayo is now also a magazine. SBS Contents Hub’s president Lee Nam Kiannounced that they are creating the country’s first music program magazine called SBS Inkigayo Magazine Take 7″… creative, right? SBS wants to take a step beyond the performances aired on TV, so this magazine will include interviews, pictures and much more.

The first issue will feature special pages about artists that have been active from the first week of December to the third week, including 2PM, SHINee, CL & Minzy, BEAST, f(x), MBLAQ, and Rainbow. They will make up around 80 pages and definitely will be a hit to young people.

An associate of SBS Contents Hub said, “This magazine represents the mainstream music features on Inkigayo. It’s a new thing we’re doing and everyone should keep an eye on it. We will have all kinds of music program information as well as concert news, behind-the-scenes features on music videos and more. We are aiming to become Korea’s #1 music magazine.”

The first issue of the magazine will be up for grabs for those attending 2009 SBS Gayo Daejun for free. For those who are not in attendance, they will start hitting the stores in January and will come out with a new issue every 28 days.

Yoon Eun Hye and Nichkhun get down in a club. Why? For the newest Cass CF, the same brand Sandara Park filmed with Lee Min Ho.

The two grind it up on the dance floor and prove they are one good looking couple. And judging from the still shots, it seems like there’s going to be some interesting drama in this one, just like there was for Dara and Lee Min Ho.

Korean actor Lee Min-ho has successfully wrapped up another fan meeting in Singapore, according to his agency Starhaus Entertainment.

Some 2,000 fans attended the fan meeting — titled “MINOZ, THE FIRST ASIA FAN MEETING – FIRST LOVE…with SINGAPORE” — which took place on December 21 at the Max Pavilion auditorium.

“It was the last fan meeting of the year, so many Korean fans wanted to attend as well”, an official at Starhaus was quoted as saying. “But tickets were sold out, so they were unable to do so”.

The official went on to explain that many people from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand came to Singapore to see the Hallyu star.

Lee, who recently visited Japan and Taiwan, performed two songs during the event; his solo single “My Everything” and theme song “Boys over Flowers” from the soundtrack.

The 22-year-old actor shot to stardom after starring in “Boys” earlier this year. The drama co-starred Korean actress Koo Hye-sueon and idol group member Kim Hyun-joong of SS501.

Korean actress Shin Min-ah attended Chanel’s fashion show in China by invitation of the brand’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld, according to fashion magazine W Korea.

W Korea ran a special feature on the actress, who showed up at the “2010 Chanel Paris-Shanghai Collection” held in Shanghai’s Huangpu Park on December 3.

Shin, clad in a Chanel dress, represented Korea among a handful of international celebrities attending the fashion show, including French singer and Johnny Depp’s partner Vanessa Paradis.

The 25-year-old actress has appeared in numerous Korean television dramas and films, including “A Love To Kill” (KBS, 2005) alongside Asian superstar Rain and movies “A Bittersweet Life”, “Sad Movie” and “The Beast and the Beauty”.

The fashion spread featuring Shin at the Chanel show was published in the January issue of W magazine, currently available in bookstores.

Many of you know that the boys of Big Bang and official endorsers of Korean Sports Apparel Brand FILA. Well, FILA recently released a new line of jackets and Big Bang had a photo shoot for the new line. KBS2’s Entertainment Weekly was on hand for the photo shoot and had a brief interview with the boys.

In the interview they asked G-Dragon if he watches the hit drama IRIS and he said that he does and that he’s very curious on what’s going to happen in the story. He also mentioned a particular scene where his fellow Big Bang member T.O.P was fighting Lee Byung Hun in Akita, Japan. In the scene, Lee Byung Hun escapes from T.O.P by jumping off a tall dam with a rope and eventually escapes, G-Dragon stated all T.O.P had to do was cut the rope instead of trying to shoot him which drew some laughter. They also asked G-Dragon on which girl he preferred from IRIS, either Kim Tae Hee or Kim So Yeon and he said he preferred Kim So Yeon. After this statement he blurted out Noona Noona, in reference to Seungri’s patented move to win over Noona’s hearts.

“I want to play a macho guy and try my skills at melodrama as well. I want to try so many things. But since I’m still very young, the best role for me would be a cheerful one”, said actor Lee Min-ho, who rose to stardom for his role in “Boys over Flowers”, at a news conference on December 15 in Taiwan. The news conference was held prior to Lee’s fan meeting at the National Taiwan University.

The actor said he felt significant pressure with regard to his next role because his previous role was very popular. “Boys over Flowers”, which ended in March, recorded viewer ratings of nearly 35 percent. Lee said choosing the right role was his priority and dilemma at this point, saying, “I’m feeling pressure because everyone around me keeps asking me about my next production. I want to receive recognition for my acting skills and I want my next drama to record high viewer ratings while also receiving credit for its high quality. I hope at least one of these aspects will be realized”.

Lee says he wants to receive the Best New Actor award from KBS this year. He will appear in a new TV drama early next year after choosing a new role from among three roles that he has been offered.

Lee said he had been watching the TV drama “IRIS” lately and that he would like to appear in “Iris 2″ if he were offered a part. He said, “I admire Lee Byeong-Heon for his excellent acting talent. I envy him. A candy kiss? Hmm, I haven’t thought about that”.

Lee had to postpone choosing his next role because of a leg injury that he received in a car accident. He said, “The surgery is done. My leg is still in bad condition. When it rains, my joints ache a lot. I head that once your cartilage is damaged, it’ll never recover again. But I think I can still run in a marathon, but I’m not sure if I can finish it”.

Whenever he has free time, Lee learns English and Japanese and enjoys shopping with his production crew. He also likes to ski with actor Kim Bum and Jeong Il-woo. Lee said, “I feel the need to learn foreign languages because sometimes I hold fan meetings overseas. My foreign fans can’t understand my jokes immediately. That’s why I’m learning English and Japanese. I’m learning English from my sister, who majored in English. My skills are still similar to those of a 3-year old”.

Korean Wave star Kim Jeong-hoon is set to release a solo debut album in Japan today, according to his agency Mersenne on Wednesday.

The singer’s new album “All I Can See Is You” is a Japanese version of his solo album “In Your Eyes”, which was released in Korea on September 1 and sold over 20,000 copies.

“This solo debut album did very well although it was released after Kim entered the military,” an official at Mersenne was quoted as saying. “The Japanese fans kept requesting that we release it in Japan, so we produced the Japanese version.”

Kim rose to fame in 2000 as a member of K-pop duo UN. When the group disbanded in 2005, he started acting in several movies and TV dramas, most notably in MBC’s hit TV series “Goong”.

He has continued his music career in Japan, releasing his seventh single “Blue Moon” which debuted at No. 7 on Oricon’s singles daily chart in July. Last year, in a poll by the Korean Wave magazine “Wanna Know More Korean TV Drama (Vol.32)”, Kim was voted the most popular Hallyu star, beating out actor Bae Yong-joon.

The 29-year-old singer and actor entered the army in April to fulfill South Korea’s mandatory military services.

Representatives for actor So Ji-sub and actress Han Ji-min over the weekend flatly denied rumors that the two stars will soon tie the knot.

So’s agency 51K and Han’s agency Ava Entertainment called the rumors “groundless” on Saturday, playing down growing speculation that the co-stars of SBS TV series “Cain and Abel” were planning to get married.

The rumor had circulated amongst the financial circle on Friday, along with talk that a statement announcing their marriage would be issued the following day.

Reports in August said So and Han were dating but both sides have also denied being in a romantic relationship.

Han, 27, appeared in various commercials and music videos before gaining recognition in hit TV series “All In” and “Jewel in the Palace” in 2003.

So, 32, is currently one of the most popular actors in Korea who has appeared in numerous TV dramas and movies since his debut in 1995. He became a household name in Asia with the back-to-back success of “Something Happened in Bali” and “I’m Sorry, I Love You” in 2004.

He recently starred in the film “Sophie’s Revenge” alongside Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and is set to make a comeback to the small screen around June next year in an epic war drama titled “Road Number One”.

Synopsis
Sun-kyeong is a retired police officer and father of three sons.
He had high hopes for his eldest son Gun-gang, but he has fallen short of expectations almost every time. He has made wrong decisions many times in life, ending up being divorced and going bankrupt. Sun-kyeong was not happy with Gun-gang’s decision to remarry Chung-nan, but after finding out Chung-nan’s secret, he keeps it unknown and wishes the couple’s happiness.
His second son Hyun-chal is the envy of the town and pride of his father. Compared to his older brother, he was not favored as much by his parents as a child, but now he runs a number of businesses which are quite successful. Sun-kyeong always feels indebted to Hyun-chal’s wife, Wu-mi who has long sacrificed her happiness for the benefit of the Kim family.
Sun-kyeong feels proud of his last son Yi-sang as he follows in his father’s footsteps by becoming a police officer. However, due to the generation gap, oftentimes the father and the son clash each other.
As opposed to Sun-kyeong’s expectation, Yi-sang married Eo-yeong, the daughter of his deadly foe, an ex-convict Sun-kyeong traced and eventually arrested a long time ago.
