Recently, I treated a patient struggling with depression and substance abuse who had found a legal way to get high. He had ordered Kratom capsules on the Internet. Lots of his friends have ordered up supplies, too. I hadn’t heard of Kratom, and you probably haven’t, either, but I think you will.

It mimics some of the effects of opiates (like morphine and opium) and can relieve physical pain and produce a sense of increased well-being and increased energy. Depending on the dose taken and the way it is used (smoking versus chewing leaves versus drinking Kratom tea), it can cause anything from euphoria to sedation.

Kratom trees are native to Southeast Asia, including Thailand and Malaysia, but plants can be and are being grown in this country, as well. While Kratom may turn out to have medicinal uses in treating chronic pain, helping people detox from heroin and even in controlling anxiety and depression, very little is known about its real risks and benefits. It can certainly be addictive, especially for those who end up using Kratom on a daily basis. Abruptly stopping it can lead to severe depression and severe anxiety.

With marijuana decriminalization potentially on the horizon across the country, I expect to see even more of the long-term effects of daily marijuana use in my psychiatric practice. I have treated many patients who have lost motivation, succumbed to chronic depression and found it difficult to focus their attention after months or years of smoking marijuana. Kratom could be another “quick fix” that young people flock to in order to avoid their complicated emotions and the complex realities of the world in which we live.

Only time will tell, but I can tell you this: My patient didn’t limit his substance abuse to Kratom. He ended up using cocaine, too. And Oxycontin. Underneath it all, there’s an epidemic of anxiety and depression in our population. Ultimately, that epidemic will only be addressed through introspection, counseling and the judicious use of approved medications. Kratom, alcohol, marijuana and the rest of the quick fixes for unwieldy feelings are really only roads to my office and those of my colleagues.

Salvia divinorum is native to the highlands of the Sierra Mazateca Mexico ; it belongs to the mint plant family. This herb has been of divination and healing benefit for the indigenes of Sierra Mazateca Mexico ; they used this plant as a hallucinogen. Other hallucinogenic plants used for a similar healing and religious purposes like the salvia plants are psilocybin mushrooms ( teo-nanactl ), peyote ( peyotl ) and ( ololiuqui ) morning glory.

Historic Use of the Herb

The employment of Salvia divinorum and other psychotropic plants in Mexico is traceable to the 16th century in the Spanish invasion ; at this time, religious practices associated with the utilization of these plants were prohibited by Catholic clergy in most part of Mexico. But the data and use of this plant was still maintained by the isolated group in central Mexico. This herb was identified in the U. S. as new specie of Salvia ( sage ) ; following the transportation of its sample in 1960 by R. Gordon Wasson and Albert H. To the U. S. .

Salvia Divinorum As A Therapeutic Plant

Only the leaves of the plant were used after picking up the foliage in the required quantity by the Mazatec shamans for healing and divination purposes. It is removed or brewed as severely sour tea from its squeezed, ground or crushed form. For restoration of regularity and headaches relief, four or five pairs of either dry or fresh leaves can be a dose. Also the same dose of four or five leaves can be a tonic for the treatment of generalized weakness, pains and aches. The healing nature of this herb is also extended to ailments like panzon de barrego ( swollen belly ) ; a magician’s caused infirmity. On the other hand, hallucination occurs in an individual when a dose of 20 to 60 leaves is employed.

The utilization of Salvia Divinorum by the Shamans to prompt hallucination is for many reasons. The plant is used for diagnostic purpose for an individual whose source or reason for sickness isn’t known. The Shamans who use the herb for healing would generally kneel to wish when they climb the mountain to harvest the herb. A dose of a hundred leaves is used for a patient who suffers from the influence of alcohol by the Curandero ; and the dose of fifty leaves is used for other patient. The Shaman healer will generally squeeze the leaves into an elixir of water for the patient to drink ; after which the patient is drunk into a trance. The words of the patient at this time are translated to be the real cause of the ailment ; an assistant typically accompanies the Curandero to an isolated place where the process of recovery for the patient is conducted. The patient will get rid of his dress at that moment as a mark of freedom from the sickness and then goes to sleep. The recovery process will be completed the next day, after the healer bathes the patient.

The healing use Salvia Divinorum described so far is the method utilized by the Shamans healer ; there are other uses of the herb which will be discussed in other sections of our site. Our site is consistently updated with information on this idealist herb.

Kratom is one of the best herbal mixes that produces enjoyable experiences for the user. Kratom, or Mitragyna speciosa as it is biologically called, is a massive tree that that can grow up to fifteen feet tall and is native to Southeast Asia. While Kratom has been used for medical purposes in Africa, it is essentially been known and used for its psychoactive effects on the body. Historically, Kratom was used principally in Thailand by employees who wanted to relax after working hard every day as well as providing an energy boost to work harder. As a result, this herbal drug has traditionally been called the”worker’s plant.”

This product is principally utilized in Southeast Asia for its psychoactive effects, but more people are starting to use it in other bits of the world particularly as it is legal in most countries including Australia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, some pieces of Europe and the United States.

In Thailand, Kratom users would historically take the leaves right off the tree and chew them while they were fresh kratom can be ingested in alternative ways and these are some proposals :

* You can chew Kratom although it is fresh
* You can use the dried leaves to make a powder for chewing
* It is possible to make tea with Kratom
* Smoking is also possible, but not as hot as chewing or drinking
* Dried or fresh leaves can also be boiled to make an extract which has a paste-like texture

Many have announced that smoking the herb doesn’t have any added effects compared to chewing or drinking as a tea.

Kratom creates two different experiences-Sedation and Stimulated. Kratom may be employed as a stimulant when taken in low doses or a sedative when taken in high doses . The duration of the effects can last anywhere from four to six hours with a steady fade. The active chemical that is responsible for the effects of Kratom is mitragynine, which is an alkaloid that produces the dual effects. These are some examples of what you can feel when you consume Kratom :

Effects of Kratom

* Reducing pain, treating diarrhea as well as treating those that are addicted to opiates.
* You can feel extremely alert and energetic
* Increased capabilities to socialize
* Feeling energized and heightened moods
* Increase in sexual kick when taken in tiny doses
* Sedated-sense of tranquility and relaxation with nice feelings
* Possibility of closed-eye visuals that can be enjoyable and exciting
* Can in part have a dearth of real world consciousness
* Sense of being in a dreamy state and losing connection with actuality

While the effects of Kratom are largely positive, you can experience some negative effects including itching, sweating, and revulsion. All the effect of Kratom haven’t been fully investigated or documented. Anyone that uses Kratom should do so with caution and be accompanied by others in order to avoid risks and perils in the environment and the body. Depending on the amount that’s ingested and the technique of ingestion, Kratom can produce a selection of enjoyable experiences for the individual.

I’m going to skip the customary quashing of my erratic, irregular style of updating so far. I

I’m going to skip the customary quashing of my erratic, irregular style of updating so far. I have been strangely busy lately. I suppose it shouldn’t be strange, since I have deadlines looming for school, but actually school has not been stealing away with all of my time, I admit. I have been a little reckless lately with my indulgances, but I haven’t the usual glee or begrudgingly satisfied hangover to show for it. Not that I haven’t been enjoying myself, but that’s another story and this isn’t the place to tell it.

Since updating last, I came into some Thai Kratom, which I enjoyed together with my girlfriend, as well as a couple of doses (? We shall see if it’s enough for two people: I have my suspicions that it isn’t) of Heavenly Blue Morning Glory seeds. We haven’t partaken of the Morning Glory yet. I’m not a very intuitive person, but I’m not totally seized to get into the LSA right away, so I shall keep an eye out for that “right” moment. In the meantime, I have gotten a 24-days’-supply of Calea, the “dream herb” of the Oaxaca, which I’ve already penned on.

I had been putting off trying it out, completely unaware of what I should have been preparing to endure. Blissfully unsuspecting, I enjoyed myself while I brewed up a few grams (eyeballed it) of the loose leaves and then let it steep for about 15 minutes. It was very interesting to observe the surface of the tea, as little drops of oil would bead there and float amidst each other. By the time it was done, they had all clustered together, shimmering funnily in a layer. This would be the end of any “blissfully” anything, because holy shit, this shit is horrid.

Acrid. Detestable. I had visions of spiders being cruelly hairsprayed, that’s what the cells lining my alimentary canal were impressing, nay, burning to me to understand their torture. They struggled, freaked out a little, but ultimately, could only screw up into pathetically scrunched balls of “Why?” It took me a while, and I finished about 90% of it, I guess (pausing to sip water and rinse my mouth, courageously bearing the prod of pre-nausea). Another 23 days to go.

It’s been over 40 minutes since I finished the tea, and I have to say that it’s very… relaxing. Although I’m not sure if this is induced drowsiness (I was sufficiently sleepy before downing the brew), but I am going to say that it probably is. And now I am off to sleep.

Common side effects and difficult reactions of agony killers are : nausea, puking, drowsiness, dry m

Common side effects and difficult reactions of agony killers are : nausea, puking, drowsiness, dry mouth, miosis, orthostatic hypotension — frequently happens when arising too swiftly when getting out of bed in the morning, urinary retention, constipation and fecal impaction. Patients can innocently start taking discomfort killers after a moderate injury or due to a serious injury in a vehicle accident, fall or for post surgical agony. A person exhibits compulsive behavior to deal with their craving for a pain killer or pain medication even when there are negative consequences associated with taking the agony killer or drug.

Chronic agony affects one out of 3 or four adults ; millions of men and women suffer from dreadful disabling agony. Treatment options for discomfort killer obsession include : medications,eg methadone and LAAM ( levo-alpha-acetyl-methadol ), and behaviour counseling ; sometimes, the patient is medically detoxified before any treatment approach is started. 2.2 million people aged 12 and up first abused painkillers in the past year ; this is more than the number of people who started using marijuana and has gone past the utilization of cocaine.

obsession to pain killers is a rising problem today, especially the abuse of opioid discomfort killers. Many lingering discomfort patients may be under-treated as a result of doctors who are attempting to gain control over discomfort killer obsession, they report. Agony killer obsession includes : opiate dependency, opiate obsession, narcotic dependency, drug obsession, and discomfort killer dependency or painkiller dependency.

When you are dependant physically to a drug, like discomfort killers or alcohol, etc, it is down to the fact you’ve suppressed or shut down your body’s production of endorphins, which are natural opiate agony killers ; when this happens you start craving the drug that you replaced the endorphins with whether it’s alcohol, any of a number of drugs or discomfort killers. If you believe you are addicted and wish to get off discomfort killers or other drugs, it’s best to get detoxified as quickly as you can and then go thru some type of rehabilitation ; it’s important to have others to lean on and learn from and offer support to you. Opioids should never be taken when consuming alcohol ( also a drug ) or when alcohol may still be in the system.

More than 415,000 people received treatment for agony killer abuse or obsession this past year. An opioid-dependent discomfort patient has improved function with the employment of the drug while an opioid-addicted patient does not have improvement. Though detoxification is not therapy for agony killer obsession, it can help relieve withdrawal problems while the patient adjusts to being free of agony killers or other prescribed drugs.

Find out from your local health professionals where the nearest and best agony killer addiction treatment centers are. Some insurance corporations will pay for 1 or 2 weeks ; some may pay for rehabilitation too. It’s important to go through rehabilitation following your detoxification stay : make it part of your plan.

taking the time to spend in therapy center, detoxing, is of the greatest priority. It’s important to fetch help and not to try getting off agony killers on your own. If you can’t do an in-patient rehabilitation, find out how you can do outpatient rehabilitation and pay for it under your insurance plan ; take a look at your insurance policy to see whether it’s covered.

researchers are resolutely working on different ways to optimize pain alleviation while reducing the danger of drug abuse, including reformulating specific drugs. Do things that cause you to feel good so long as it’s natural. If you believe you’ve got an obsession to discomfort killers think about getting detoxed as fast as possible ; you can do it, thousands have done it before you.
And now there is a new herb emerging, known as Kratom. It’s used in Russian hospitals to treat opiate addiciton the natural way and by thousands of people who chose the natural alternative over Pharma chemicals. For more info on Kratom, you can visit the official Kratom website, by clicking here: Kratom

Nicotiana rustica (Sacred Tobacco) was used for hundreds of generations by virtually every Native American tribe, making it the most common entheogen in the Americas. It was said that a mischievious spirit rolled his enemy onto the embers of a fire while they were sleeping, catching his hair on fire. The awakened spirit woke and ran through the forest, while ashes of hair fell to the forest floor, from which the tobacco plant grew.

Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom), a member of the Coffee family, is widely used in its native Thailand where it has been made illegal. Over 25 alkaloids have been isolated from kratom that share some similar activity with yohimbine and opiates. The primary alkaloid, once thought to be matragynine, is 7-hydroxymitragyne and acts as an mu receptor agonist effectively alleviating opiate withdrawal. In Malaysia it has been used to treat opiate addiction since the 1800’s. Kratom has been used to prolong sexual intercourse and has immunostimulant activity similiar to cats claw. Kratom is a complex and unique ethnobotanical that will prove to be of great importance to the future of phytopharmacology.

Buy Kratom – Kratom and Mitragynine

Mitragynine is the main active element in Mitragyna speciosa, sometimes called Kratom. The mixture of alkaloids from this plant contain 66% Mitragynine, another interesting active element is the 7a-Hydroxy-7H-Mitragynine, but this only makes 1,6% of the whole alkaloid mixture. The dried leaves of this plant contain approximately 0,5% alkaloids. The effects are called a mixture between Opium – Papaver somniferum and Coca – Erythroxylum coca. Also scientific researches had shown that Mytraginine has the noteworthy capability to react on both receptor groups.

In the 19th century the first reports had been delivered, they contained information this plant was employed in Malaysia to treat opium obsession and had been used as substitute. But closer researches of the plant had begun in 1920. Today it is employed in Thailand from truckers as replacement for amphetamine. The plant is also called <a href="http://buykratom10.blogspot.com/2009/07/buy-kratom-mitragynine.html
“>Kratom, Biak, Gratom, Katawn, Kraton, Mabog or Mambog from local people.

Natural sources: The plant can be discovered in Thailand, the northwards peninsulas of Malaysia up to Borneo and New Guinea. There it grows principally in swampy regions.Growing : There is only obscure the way to grow the plant in artificial environments. Also almost all of the available products come from natural sources.Usage:Traditionally the dried leaves had been smoked, but this just seems to create delicate effects. An alternate way is to prepare a tea with the leaves or to make an extract. The extract is known in our regions as “Resin” or “Resine” extract. The exract can be placed in boiling water to dissolve and than be drunk like a tea. The mixture of alkaloids from this plant contain 66% Mitragynine, another engaging active element is the 7a-Hydroxy-7H-Mitragynine, but this only makes 1,6% of the entire alkaloid mix. The dried leaves of this plant contain roughly 0,5% alkaloids. The effects are described as a mixture between Opium – Papaver somniferum and Coca – Erythroxylum coca. Also systematic researches had shown that Mytraginine has the noteworthy capability to react on both receptor groups.

Amanita muscaria, the highly visible and strikingly beautiful mushroom, also known as the Fly Agaric, is yellow to red in color and speckeled with white. It has been speculated that this ancient entheogen was the original Tree of Knowledge as well as Soma, the intoxicant beverage of the Aryans. Some believe that it was a secret means for Buddhist monks to induce states of enlightenment. Although its use by Siberian shamans wasn’t known until the 1700s, it is perhaps humanity’s oldest entheogen having been used throughout Europe in the Stone Age prior to the Bering Straight being crossed.

Our ancestors must surely have been intrigued by the Amanita muscaria–they appeared magically from nowhere, in strange and beautiful shapes and colors and gave magical visions of the beyond when eaten. Today Amanita muscaria mushrooms are widely known: the Alice in Wonderland mushrooms, the fairytale mushrooms regularly seen in fairy tale books. Yet most people aren’t aware that they are, in fact, real. A must have addition to any ethnobotanical collection. We offer Amanita muscaria mushrooms harvested from the following locations:

Yerba Mate has been used for centuries in South America and is really starting to get attention in the United States as a healthier substitute for coffee. Drinkers of Yerba Mate usually find they get more of an energy boost from Yerba Mate than from coffee, without any of the jitters or stomach and other health problems. Yerba Mate has 5 mg of caffeine compared to 137 mg in the same amount of ground coffee and has more antioxidants than many vegetables, improving your immune system.

Fly Agaric Mushrooms, Amanitas

What do you know about these beautiful mushrooms?

Amanita muscaria, the strikingly beautiful mushroom, is yellow to red in color and speckeled with white. Amanita muscaria’s history has it associated with both Shamanic and magical practices. It was identified as the “Soma” of the ancient (4000 BC) Rig Veda by Gordon Wasson.

Amanita muscaria is probably humanity’s oldest entheogen. Amanita muscaria has historical use as far back as we have history, and is easy to suppose that prehistoric humans, recognized that there were mushrooms and other plants that had benefits not related to hunger.

Yet most people arent aware that they are, in fact, real. A must have addition to any ethnobotanical collection.

Amanita pantherina are also known as Panther Caps. This cousin of Amanita muscaria ranges in color from dark to light brown, tan to dull yellowish. The Amanita pantherina mushrooms came from new mexico.

Amanita muscaria portrayed as the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil” with Adam and Eve in a 12th century fresco at the Abbaye de Plaincourault, France

Caring for your Kratom plant is easy. When your plant arrives, carefully remove the plant from the b

Caring for your Kratom plant is easy.

When your plant arrives, carefully remove the plant from the box, minding use of sharp instruments, cut the tape, not the box in a warmer area, free from drafts to avoid dehydration. Carefully remove all packaging disturbing the plant as little as possible. Your plant may or may not be noticeably wilted. This is to be expected from the shock of transport. Do not be alarmed if it looks a little ’sad’. Keep plant away from direct artificial or natural light for at least a day. A dimly lit room, such as the counter or table top in front of drawn shades or blinds is considered indirect lighting. It needs to adjust to the new environment.

Water the plant generously, but do not allow to stand in water for more than 2-3 hours per day. The plant should ‘perk’ up within a few hours. Give another drink if needed after being revived.

This plant will need acclimation to direct sunlight. You may acclimate it by gradually increasing the amount of daily exposure 30 minutes to 1 hour per day over the next week or two. Any greater exposure to direct sunlight may risk significant sunburn. Keep a close eye on the plant and adjust accordingly.

I highly recommend Miracle-Gro potting mix as an excellent source of nutrients for proper leaf production and plant stability. Kratom requires an ample amount of lighting that is very bright, however not harsh sun. If adequate lighting is not maintained consistently, leaf drop will occur quite severely until the plant can use what light is available. You may find the use of fluorescent lighting to be amicable and ultimately will be easier to control during the shorter winter months. Consider the plant’s native habit, Thailand and Africa, where the tropical zones are moist and warm and days are long. Should artificial lighting be impractical for your needs, 4-5 hours of early morning sun should be sufficient.

The temperature that you may find comfortable will ultimately make your new plant comfortable. Much higher than 90 degrees F and leaf production is slowed slightly, although the plant loves plenty of humidity and higher temps. Much lower than 50 degrees F and the plant will stop growing pretty much altogether; remaining dormant until warmer temperatures are maintained all the while, dropping nearly every leaf. Please understand this plant is tropical in nature and will not survive freezing temperatures.

You should want to water when the very top of soil becomes slightly dry in appearance or to touch. Lack of sufficient water will result in smaller stunted leaves and much slower growth. Misting once or twice daily will help alleviate stress of a drier climate as well help prevent many opportunities for pests which often prefer the dry undersides and joints of plants in general. Kratom prefers fairly damp, VERY well-drained potting soil. I use ONLY miracle-gro potting mix for the Kratom. No moss, no vermiculite, nothing but the potting mix. Root growth, again, is rather slow, allowing you to keep the plant potted longer.

Watch your plant closely and you will learn to accommodate it to the most suitable growing environment. With lots of love and care your Kratom plant can grow up to be a Kratom tree.
