Nel male perchè per la prima volta si teorizza una separazione netta tra i poteri del popolo e quelli di uno stato che è determinato come entità a sè, astratta e separata dal popolo, con un potere univoco verso il popolo al quale eventualmente il popolo non può reagire. Vi è il primo iato tra demos e kratos.

Poi arrivarono i successivi, con lo stato (o le multinazionali) che si accaparrano il monopolio delle materie prime, delle energie, e gradualmente anche dei media e pian piano di tutto quello che appartiene al nostro quotidiano (abbiamo visto ad esempio come agisca in questo verso l’uso del satellitare per trovare le strade e altre cose del genere)

On pourrait penser que la valeur de la God of War Collection réside dans le fait que les  deux jeux soient regroupé en  un seul disque, mais vous vous trompez. Vous pouvez également pointer vers les  mises à jour visuels, l’application cohérente 60 fps présentation, et l’inclusion des trophées et je crois que ce sont des bienfaits, mais encore une fois, vous êtes incorrect. Non, la vraie valeur de God of War Collection est qu’il permet à ceux d’entre nous qui ont déjà terminé les deux premiers titres de prendre du recul et de réfléchir sur le fantôme du voyage de Sparte au sommet du mont Olympe, et à la suite d’anticiper ce qui se cache à suivre  Kratos dans le God of War III.

God of War Collection vous permet aussi de rejouer dans les moments qui ont fait les titres des deux premières classiques instantanée, comme la première bataille contre le colosse dans God of War 2 — – l’un  des plus grands séquence d’ouverture dans l’histoire moderne du jeu vidéo.

One of the greatest Hack and Slash series of all time that I discovered first in 2008 through Skorch82 video-walkthroughs is about to get its third installment. I did not know what to expect from it. I was a big fan of the Soul Reaver series and after I have watched two videos of Skorchs guide I knew that I am going to like the God of War games, too. In 2008 I made my PlayStation2 ready again and bought me the two parts of God of War that I missed. I played 5 hours per day and finished both games inside one single week and I was still screaming for more! God of War III will come and now I get the chance to replay this two epic stories again on my PlayStation3.

A short overview

There is no need to explain the story of the game because it would spoil too much. All you should know is that you play as Kratos – one of Spartans greatest Warlords – but his fate condemned him to serve the gods and to obey their orders in reverse for everything he once loved. Terrible nightmares dont let him sleep most of the time until Athena offers his soul peace after one final task:  He needs to destroy Ares – the god of war.

The God of War games are well known for their varied gameplay. Most of the time you will slaughter, tear up and kill enemies in a very brutal and bloody way. You collect orbs of different color to regain health, mana and to upgrade your blades and force wich you need to unlock while playing through the game and solving tricky puzzles. The games won a lot of prices, including “Game of the Year” honors from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and is listed in almost every Top Playstation 2 game ranking of admitted sites and magazines.

The game was re-released on the Playstation 3 this year in a Collectors Edition, featuring a trophy system and remastered for rendition in High Definition. I got it for 23 EUR in reverse for my Playstation 2 releases at GameStop and played it today. Lets see if the promotion campaign that promises “a much better experience of two greatest hits” is justified.

Collectors Edition

Lets get straight to the point: The Collectors Edition for PS3 is better as I have expected. You get both games, including all their features and mini games that were inside the original releases and every “Making of” episode + new “Making of” content can be found and viewed directly from the blue ray disk. The games itself were remastered f0r rendition in 720p HD. That means that every texture and model was edited and drawn again by hand to give the edges the look of a 2x AntiAliasing (AA cant be rendered by the PS3 graphics chip) and better sharpness. But there are still some weak points wich I dont like that much: All with the ingames engine premade cut scenes look as awful as they were in the original releases for the PS2. Only the animated videos beat their predecessor versions by far! The graphic inside the game looks a way better as before but always reminds you on the fact that the God of War games were first released on the PS2. Some textures look very blurry and misplaced, but this is what you need to accept if you buy a game that was mentioned to be played on a platform from the last console generation.

Please dont misunderstand me, the Collectors Edition is great and the games look really awesome and you can see that they put a lot of effort into the remastering. I only wish that they had put in a little bit more time into making it. The same goes for the trophies. I thought there were much more but until now I just see trophies for God of War I. The CE does not remove the old gameplay and the game’s atmosphere is still the greatest you will ever experience. God of War I and II are outstanding games that I really love to enjoy both a second time. It’s a dirty, brutal and violent world in wich Kratos lives and a MUST BUY for every fan and people who never had the chance to play the originals.

Aion is no more.

After thinking about it for quite some time, I’ve decided that I just don’t have the time and interest to continue playing Aion, so I’ve cancelled the account.

Now, it actually has nothing to do with Aion itself, I think it has more to do with my current state of gaming. I acquired Dragon Age: Origins just the other day, I’ve been playing a lot of God of War (1, 2 soon AND the demo) and I keep going back to Modern Warfare 2 multi-player. Throw on top of that some Borderlands, which in itself is another RPG, and of course keeping up with Street Fighter IV and Blazblue and I basically have no time to grind.

It sucks, but all the other games I’m playing are free, Aion is $15 a month… oh well. Hopefully, I’ll be more ready for an MMO when Old Republic rolls around.

Anyway, Dragon Age is intriguing, so I really want to continue with that game… I think it has to do with the Mass Effect-ish style of furthering your story by answering questions in your own way and not really being able to go back once you’ve made a decision. I felt there was weight to my actions. For example, I betrayed my friend and his love, but I actually didn’t want to. I felt sort of bad about their idea of running away (long story) and deceiving the higher ups, so I told someone I thought would help. Of course, he told me to help them so that they could be captured. Well, I felt bad about that too, so I told them about it. Of course, the friend was furious. All and all, it’s pretty cool to know that had I done things differently, my story would have unfolded differently. It’s crazy to also note that I’m not sure what happened to my friend, but I am sure I’ll see him again.

On a different note, God of War Collections is a MUST buy if you own a PS3 and are a God of War fan. It’s so fantastic to see how well this game has aged, it’s soooooo much fun. And the God of War 3 demo is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure this game is going to EAT other games. Like, when it comes out, it will nuke Barbie’s Adventure Island. It may actually be too hot to put in your PS3… it’s like they took 1 and 2, threw it in a blender, asked fans what would be awesome, threw in some super mega killer graphics, made it super brutal, and put a dash of perfection powder. Viola, the game to beat in 2010.

March cannot come soon enough.

Anyway, I’d thought I’d leave you with some inspiring words, by a FANTASTIC artist, someone who’s words define a generation… /endsarcasm:

The other day somebody reported finding out that God of War III would have online co-op via a Sony Retail Site (Full story here). However anyone who was happy to hear that will be disappointed to know that it won’t be happening. Evic Levine, Sony’s Product Public Relations, gave the rather definitive statement of:

“This news is false.”

There you go then, no online co-op in God of War III.

A rumor dropped about a CoOp mode being added to God of War 3. Examiner.com reported in this post they contacted Sony and received and answer from Eric Levine “This news is false.” The rumor gave me plenty of ideas of Kratos destroying enemies while teaming up with a bow-and -arrow using Athena, Hercules teaming with Kratos while beating down opponents with his bare hands, and Nariko from Heavenly Sword combined with Kratos creating a dream team and becoming a nightmare for any god. The rumor sparked my imagination, how about you guys post in the comments what ideas that came to you.

That’s the rumor floating around. During a recent Q&A with TheGamerAccess, Sony was asked,“Will God of War III have online cooperative modes?” Their response, “Yes.” Though it may sound like it is set in stone, we’ll wait for the official confirmation from Sony. But how big would that be?

TheGamerAccess.com have said that God of War III will have online co-op modes. This was apparently found on a Sony Retail Site. This hasn’t been confirmed though so don’t get excited just yet.

If this is true, I’ll be interested to see how it’s handled. I can’t see there being any co-op in the main campaign and it will most likely be limited to the challenge rooms. The co-op character is also an interesting aspect since [God of War II Spoilers] Everybody but the Titans hate Kratos so that doesn’t leave much character choice [Spoilers End].

The character will most likely just select a costume to play as. There were plenty of costumes in the other games so there’s a chance that would happen.

Though there are few things that arouse a crusty, irascible, cantankerous old man full of stubborn ideas, Eurogamer Expo had one scantily clad Greek up its sleeve who was sure to keep the blood pumping

I’m a curmudgeon, and I hate crowds, so it was a faint relief to see that the Eurogamer Expo had plenty of room to manoeuvre once you got inside. We’ll be doing a more general talk about the Expo in the current issue of the magazine, but I just wanted to get a few words in about the undoubted star of the show: God Of War 3.

Only Assassin’s Creed 2 seemed to be attracting as much attention, but strangely there was very little harrumphing at the amount of time people were spending on GOW. Even bad players were a joy to watch thanks to SCE Santa Monica’s remarkable rendering job. Kratos’ avatar is genuinely glorious, with rippling musculature and moody mien yelling out from the screen. The Blades of Athena and new weapon the Cestus carve their bloody way across the screen in livid HD, offering the satisfying metal-through-flesh ker-chunk that we all remember so well.

The demo on offer showed relatively few bits of the game, and nothing we hadn’t really seen before. Still, the epic backdrops of the Titans framing the burning cities really smacks you between the eyes. A brief flying sequence, some chances to swing across a chasm by leaping from Harpie to Harpie, and a tough fight with an awesomely visceral Chimera which culminates with you snapping one of its goat’s horns off and impaling it through the head with it… well, this is the stuff that dreams are made of. Ok, really nasty dreams, but dreams nonetheless.

Kratos’ acrobatic combat style is just as you remember it, with our brooding anti-hero leaping nimbly out of attacks, blocking crisply, and chaining bloody death moves together like he never went away. If anything, SCE has upped the gore quotient, with a centaur’s entrails spilled bloodily across the marble floor – take more than new Flash Bathroom to clear that up – and a remarkable QTE where sun god Helios has his noggin brutally, and extremely slowly, torn away from his body by old scar features. Oooh, tendons.

God of War 3 is – there’s no other word for it – sexy. Assuming you’re aroused by tendons snapping and viscera spilling, and who isn’t? With Modern Warfare 2 missing from the mix, it was the standout visual experience available on any platform at the Expo, and I just can’t wait for the release.

Speaking of videogames, Today ( wednesday) I am finally gonna buy my new videogames Kingdom Hearts, God of War etc…

Conexion Playstation nos trajo un demo que muchos ansiabamos ya tener en nuestras manos, la mayoria de la gente que asistio al vento solo preguntaba por un juego en especial y es que en el area de demos solo exisitian 5 ps3 con dicho demo, God Of War 3, uno de los juegos mas esperados del 2010 hizo su magnifica presencia aqui en Mexico.

A pesar de existir una larga fila en el stand de demos que parecia interminabley asi lo fue ya que solo asisti el dia sabado por este juego, al fin llego mi turno y obviamente aunque la mayoria acaparo ese demo fui de los afortunados en probarlo, el demo inica como ya es clasico con la cara de kratos, no les resumire el demo mejor les dejo un video del e3, solo les mencionare que sony no nos decepsionara y que los continuos atrasamientos del juego rindieron sus frutos, el juego se disfruta muy bien a 1080p, luce un detalle increible tanto del escenario como los enemigos, de kratos ni se diga, sus expresiones faciales al matar un enemigo o al golpearte son sublimes, es un juego dulcemente enriquecido en detalles, quien tuvo la oportunidad de probarlo me dara la razon, ahora tan solo hara falta esperar en marzo para probar este maravilloso juego que pinta para ser uno de los mejores del año.

Obvio . . . uno de los lanzamiento más importantes para Sony el proximo año es God of War III y siguiendo las exigencias del mercado. Se lanzara una versión ULTIMATE que contendra no solo la bonita replica de la “Caja de Pandora” que conocimos en el primer juego, sino tambien el soundtrack (con todo y rolas metaleras) . . . un pack de retos exclusivos, contenido online exclusivo ”Armaduras” y los basicos detras de camaras.

Siendo objetivos el paquete esta muy CHULO . . . sin embargo, creo que no es necesario. Soy fan de GOD OF WAR y me emociona que se reediten GOW 1 y 2 para el PS3, para mi eso es suficiente. Pero si lo tuyo es ser el ULTIMATE FAN . . . dicen que el paquete costara alrededor de $100 USD.

Con esto me despido y hasta la proxima

Lo primero decir que nunca antes había jugado a ningún juego-demo de God Of War así que mis impresiones van de cero, es decir, no puedo comparar mi experiencia con alguna experiencia anterior. Casi como perder la virginidad.

Los gráficos son absolutamente brutales con espacios abiertos inmensos, un modelado de los personajes casi perfecto y maravillosos efectos de luz, agua y fuego. Todo tiene un regustillo a realidad por todos lados que te da cosa y todo. Quizás los escenarios son excesivamente grandes. No creo que ninguna ciudad griega llegara a alcanzar tal nivel de tamaño y, por lo tanto, de población excepto quizás las ciudades costeras de la península de Anatolia. Me ha encantado la inclusión de ciertas “referencias” a la mitología griega con todos sus gigantes, monstruos y dioses (historic mode off).

La dinámica del juego no me ha gustado. No sabría deciros el por qué preciso pero creo que viene a ser por las pocas probabilidades de que os maten (con el movimiento de L1+cuadrado no se os acerca nadie) y su brutalidad. Brutalidad y gore por muchos lados. Sin duda a sus fans les debe de gustar muchísimo pero para mi ha llegado a ser vomitivo en algunos puntos (destripar un centauro, extraerle el ojo a un cíclope, arrancarle la cabeza de cuajo al dios Helios, etc…) y desde luego se me han quitado las ganas de comprarlo.

Bueno, supongo que alguien le habra sacado más chicha a la demo pero a mi no me ha gustado para nada además de tener una duración de unos 10 minutos como mucho.

I just got an e-mail from Gamestop (how they know my e-mail, I have not a clue, it’s not like I gave it to them… ha, ha, Gamestop joke) and it’s a very exciting e-mail… but it got me thinking about a trend that’s becoming much more prominent as real big wig games are getting ready to be released:

Mmmm, collectible.

For those of you who don’t trust me enough to click on that, it’s basically announcing the super mega awesome, $99.99 God of War III, the rip your face off edition.

I got excited… a replica of Pandora’s box?! Arts stuff! Other stuff!

But I dropped into my “ponder pose”… lately, companies have been really dishing hard on collector’s edition, and really expecting us to pay it!

And we are!

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s a very simple solution. Don’t buy the collector’s edition.

But the problem with that is, the love for a game can go much deeper than monetary values.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was a great example of a game who’s potential and mark where both very strong. It was the cool Batman, the cool Joker, all wrapped up in a gritty and raw video game where you got to ACTUALLY play as the Dark Knight as you would imagine him when he’s out and about, saving lives. You got to experience a fantastic game, and in the process, they milked you for nearly $100 for extra stuff.

Is it all bad? Nah, that Batarang was mighty cool. But it makes me wonder sometimes if they’re taking it a bit too far.

Modern Warfare II, another gigantic release this month, decided to go mega ridiculous, and is putting out four different ways to buy Modern Warfare II:

Standard, Hardened, Veteran and Prestige.

Now, if by some stroke of chance you are not a gamer, and are going “hey, what’s the big deal?” let me go ahead and let you know what the big deal is.

The Prestige collector’s edition comes with Night Vision goggles. Real. Night. Vision. Goggles.

Wow.

But I’m sure they’re rushing to fill pre-orders of the Prestige mode, I swear it.

I think at some point, gamers will get fed up with the price of even the standard edition of games and just stop buying them… then we can go back to 40-50ish games.

I highly doubt that though. Even as I type this, I’m wondering when’s the best time to pre-order my $99.99 collector’s edition of God of War III.

Pandora’s Box!!

But if you really stop and think about it, it’s kind of sad that I’m paying as much for this game as I would for half a new PS3… throw on top of that the HD version of God of War I and God of War II and I basically paid for my system… again.

Now, actually talking about the game… I’m going to assume that receiving a Pandora’s Box as part of the collector’s edition means that it is important in some way to God of War III.

Mmmmm, can’t wait.

Let’s just hope they don’t announce, let’s see, a Super Street Fighter IV, Indestructible, Go for broke Edition, or a Devil May Cry 5, SS rank Edition, which comes with ALL previous Devil May Cry games… Or like, Deadspace II, so special an edition that no one even knew the game was already finished and ready to be shipped.

Because that would suck… sooooo badly for me.

You knew it was coming, but today Sony announced the details for the “Ultimate Edition” of God of War III slated for release in March 2010.  Fans of the series should not be disappointed as the game will come packed in a replica Pandora’s Box bundled with the full length directors cut of the documentary on the making of the game entitled “God of War: Unearthing the Legend”, an art book, and two music CDs (God of War Trilogy soundtrack and a Metal EP inspired by the game).  In addition, the oft rumored Challenge Rooms have been confirmed as people who purchase the Ultimate Edition will get access to 7 exclusive rooms along with a downloadable skin for Kratos through a voucher code on the PSN.  In the U.S., pre-orders have begun today at select retailers where you can receive a free voucher to download the E3 demo of the game. Utilizing a new game engine built from the ground up and state-of-the-art visual technologies, the development team behind God of War III have made significant strides in giving players the realistic feel of actually being on the battlegrounds.  With texture resolutions that have quadrupled since God of War II, God of War III will feature fluid, life-like characters, as well as dynamic lighting effects, a robust weapon system and world-changing scenarios that will truly bring unmistakable realism to Kratos’ fateful quest.  Players will have a chance to join battles on a grand scale with many more enemies on-screen and be able to interact with levels like never before.

Give it another decade, this will become an artifact of mythical proportions. Sony continues to stuff this franchise down our throats, but we give Kratos a pass because of his OG status.
