To be honest, I have no expectations for New Moon, especially after Twilight. I didn’t think Catherine Hardwicke did a fantastic job. Shoot me if you must but it is my opinion.

While New Moon remains my highly anticipated movie of 2009, I wanted to watch it just as a follow through and to catch the impacts of Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen. Despite exciting trailers, my hope remains flat on the ground.

Truly Chris Weitz got it spot on! New Moon was clearly made for the fans and despite the ‘I could not care less errors’, it soared. It stayed true to the book. Fighting scenes were smooth. Cinematography and songs sequence was well done. I am still amazed by how Chris continued the saga. It was like reading the book. The way I would have visualised it. I vote him for Breaking Dawn.

The acting improved by miles. Robert Pattinson, as gorgeous as always, just proved he is Edward Cullen material. While the fight scenes put him down, brooding scenes was heart felt. Taylor Lautner is Jacob Black. Period. He is just as warmth and just as fun. Looking forward to see him in Eclipse. Kristen Stewart, with most screen time was the best of the three. Her emotions was believeable. While I didn’t feel her pain (as I only feel for Jacob, yes I’m bias), I thought she executed Bella’s heartache and love for Edward really well. Her concern for Jacob was as painful and her slap on Paul remains one of my favourite scenes. Ashley Greene is perfection as Alice Cullen. When she gets her screen time, she stood out.

Meanwhile I still have Jasper and Rosalie issues. Yeah, I’ll try get over it. Jackson was just okay for except for his hair.  Nikki is a gorgeous miscasted brunette. She plays Rosalie well. I liked her no emotion vote scene but I just don’t see her Rosalie beauty the way it was described in the book. The rest of the Cullens definitely had their presence felt. Nonetheless, the master of presence goes to non other than Dakota Fanning. It was an awesome five minutes with her. She brought Jane to life. Another Volturi worth mentioning is Michael Sheen. Had it been Johnny Depp, he would have stolen the show from everyone. No offence to Michael Sheen as he made a tremendous Aro especially playing around with emotions. The fight scene between Daniel Cudmore’s Felix and Robert Pattinson’s Edward was just as exciting.

The wolves were fun to watch too especially eating muffin scene. I thought it was light hearted. My favourite human is still Chief Swan. Billy Burke definitely pulled it off as daddy in distressed.

In a nutshell, while I have always love vampires (think Louis aka Brad Pitt in Interview With The Vampire), I’m team Jacob all the way for this one and proud of it. Leni, my partner and good friend remains Team Edward and president Robsessed :p

As a fan and an audience, I give New Moon 4 out of 5 stars. Thank you, Chris Weitz for making it for the fans. Your effort is deeply appreciated. Here’s to you returning for Breaking Dawn.

Yesterday we handed out the How To Dazzle Awards for our favorite things in New Moon. So in order to stay honest, today is the day we present you the “Dazzling Raspberry”, our award for things we did not like that much when seeing New Moon for the first time. Because you got to admit there were a few strange details… Doesn’t mean we didn’t like the movie though. We rated it four out of five Heineken bottles, remember? Okay, here we go!

And the award goes to…

1. Worst make-up: Esme. She looked kind of naturally beautiful in Twilight. This time she looked as is a twelve year old had tried to use eyeliner for the first time. Remember when you wanted to have a thin elegant line and it all ended up being too broad and nothing but an awfully thick black blotch? Yep, that’s what Esme’s make-up reminded me of…

2. Most unsexy scene supposed to be sexy: Edward in the red Volturi cloak. I expected it to look mystical, like a wizard’s or one of the elves’, kind of representing power and magic. Instead we got something that looked very much like either a priest’s robe or Liza Minelli’s bathrobe. None of them very sexy to me, sorry!

3. Worst Rosalie bitch moment: “It’s a necklace. Alice picked it out.” Oh, great. Give someone a present, then immediately say you didn’t buy it yourself and are not the least bit interested if she likes it or not. Exactly what Bella needed for her birthday since she hates getting older anyway. Yeah Rosalie, you can even make people feel bad on their birthday, what an awesome gift!

4. Strangest line: Harry Clearwater saying “My Kung Fu is strong”. He knows about the vampires and werewolves and he knows that Bella knows about the vamps but instead of making a subtle hint about that he goes for “My Kung Fu is strong”. Definitely the new spider-monkey!

5. Worst change in comparison to the book: Hardcore romantic Edward being even sappier than in the books. Unbelievable that this was even possible but Melissa Rosenberg made it happen.

6. Worst outfit: Carlisle’s Volturi outfit. Okay, maybe it was once hip to wear velvet, silk and lace as a man but still… I can’t help myself, it somehow looks gay. Sorry Carlisle!

7. Most unnecessary line: Jane saying “pain” before torturing Edward. Did they think the audience would not get what Jane is doing if she didn’t announce it? I mean, they would realize what happens as soon as Edward starts writhing in agony, right?

8. Worst driver: Edward when he’s parking in the school parking lot on Bella’s birthday taking at least three spots with his new charcoal Volvo (Yeah, he even beat Bella hitting her head while trying to ride a motorcycle). Only reason to justify this? Well, it looks like a really cool Volvo TV spot when he get’s out and walks towards Bella. And to be honest, I don’t really mind. Edward could take as many parking spots as he likes as long as he would walk over to me like that… Just saying.

9. Worst wig: Actually I voted for Jasper and his new poodle wig here but Zelda is really into his hair, so the jury aka we chose Rosalie instead. Because it looks so damn unnatural and not at all like real hair. And shouldn’t that be the purpose of wigs in movies? To look as if they were the real hair of actors? Not such a huge success here. Fits in nicely with the blond vain bitch cliché though…

10. Worst scene: The kissing scene on Bella’s birthday in front of her truck. Because this is so not sexy. Edward starts groaning and moaning as if in deep pain and looks like he is about to start crying every second. Simply horrible. I felt kind of 2nd-hand-embarrassed for him and I didn’t think that was possible. Honestly, before he would kiss me like that I’d rather not be kissed by Edward at all. Hard to believe, I know. But true nevertheless. In case it ever comes to this Edward, just so that you know, I want a real kiss! You can do better than that! And I can definitely do better than Bella…  Just saying.

Don’t worry Chris, we liked the movie a lot. We just felt as if we had to mention the not so good parts as well so that you believe us we don’t belong to those hardcore fans loving everything twi-related without really thinking about it. In case you feel depressed now (You shouldn’t!) just read what we posted yesterday again! Cause there was some pretty awesome stuff that made us invent the superspecial How To Dazzle Awards just to appreciate your work. Something we didn’t think that necessary for Cathy Hardi butchering directing Twilight…

Kristen Stewart isn’t the only girl who gets to enjoy Robert Pattinson’s sexiness all to herself.  Uma Thurman will play Robert’s lover in film “Bel Ami”, shot in sexy steamy Paris.  Will Kristen care?  We wonder if she’s the jealous type!  The dark girls usually are.

Apparently, she isn’t the only one either, the film is about Robert’s character (a young journalist) seducing and sleeping his way to the top of high society.  Sounds very classy.

The film is due in 2010.

In its eighth day of release, Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” crossed the double-century mark making an estimated $206.1 million.

The domestic B.O. for “New Moon” easily eclipsed that of the first “Twilight” which amassed $192.8 million in 20 weeks.

In the first three days of the holiday frame beginning Wednesday, “New Moon” has grossed $41.4 million.

The record holder for the best Thanksgiving frame haul still belongs to the first “Harry Potter” which made $82.4 million from Wednesday through Sunday.

The teen sensation New Moon  get’s a massive step down from it’s first outing Twilight, as the love tween-love posed starts Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson go at it again. Let’s start from the very beginning on the film.

The film begins with Bella (Stewart) and Edward (Pattinson) go to Bella’s eighteenth birthday party, held at Edwards “mansion”, with all his bloodsucker family members there. What they didn’t expect to happen was Bella’s cutting herself accidentally with paper and thus bleeding, setting off an alarm in one of the vampire’s minds, making them want to attack. The First thing I didn’t like about this movie was how less photogenic it appears to be when compared to the first film. A lot of the nice lighting ffects and shady gloom was taken out of this film, maybe to give it a more up-lifitng feel? Well, this doesn’t work. The film’s plot was meant to be dark and gloomy, but I think the actors and directors tried their best to divert from such a gloomy persona, and that was their first of many mistakes.

Another aspect of the film that went wrong was the acting. Of couse, Stewart and Pattinson put on a remarkable performance, but putting them aside leaves the film with a bittersweet cast that just barely proves to be satisfying enough. One of the most famous actors, and one that many critics expected to be very promising, was Taylor Lautner himself, and hey, he even got his own spot on the poster! Great! So that means he’s a new “major” character right? Yes! That means he’s a good actor, right? No. Sadly enough, Taylor Lautner puts on a mediocre performance that falls short of OK. He seems like the kind of actor that should just stick to television performances or maybe even being recruited to Disney Channel (becuase we all know Miley Cyrus is such a good actress right?).  The rest of cast leaves more to be said, but I want this review to be as short as possible.

Overall, I’m going to sum up more of the film. The plot is derived from a good book, and the plot is good as well, but the variations from the book cannot be avoided, and although sometimes for the better, there are just some things you can’t leave out. The acting could have been loads better, but at the same time, Stewart and Pattinson save the film with their graceful performances…but with such little chemistry together in the film, you can’t help but realize that without enough Cullen, the movie series is going down the drain, and this movie had nowhere near enough Cullen. The mood of the film leaves more to be desired, with a movie that tries too hard not be gloomy.  Overall, the movie really was a disappointment, it could have been loads better, but at the same time, it couldn’t have been any worse. This movie is for die-hard fans, I mean, DIE-HARD ONLY. If you didn’t read the book, or if your not a regular Twilight/New Moon fanatic, I suggest not seeing this movie.

Why couldn’t he (Edward) remain shirtless for the indoor fight scene? Why put on the robe?
Originally, the guards who grab him were supposed to be coming from the outside — that’s why they give him the robe. But the setting was changed, and they grab him on the inside. So why do they hand him this robe? Because, quite honestly, it looks very cool fighting with this long, flowing garment, and it does hide pads, protect him.

Last question: What can you tease about the costumes in Eclipse?
We go back to the 1700s and do a complete Quileute tribe. I had to go to museums and pour over clothing that was dug up from burial sites, and I went into diaries of sailors to read what their first encounters were with the Indians on the Pacific Northwest coast. Then we did vampires from the Civil War era, then we did the 1930s, then we did our contemporary world, then we did fantasy Volturi flying over on a jet to Forks, Washington. Then we did an army of vampire newborns. It’s pretty cool stuff.

Q: Which movie had tighter security on the set, “Return of the Jedi” or “New Moon”?

A: For “Return of the Jedi,” I was totally oblivious to all the fandom. I didn’t notice anything, and most of the work was done on pretty secured sets. For “New Moon,” it was unbelievable.

It was like a CIA operation. Some of the locations we would go to, the production would be so concerned about fooling the paparazzi, they would take the arrows pointing to the location and turn them the other way. We were actually getting lost.

Q: Did you do much wolf-related research for the movie?

A: We nailed it down early that these were not going to be traditional beast-y horror movie things. … We watched a lot of documentaries and looked at every single picture book out there on wolves.

My co-supervisor, Matt Jacobs, took a bunch of the art department and animators to a wolf preserve outside of Los Angeles. They got into a pen about the size of this room with about 10 wolves and just spent the afternoon with them.

Tish Monaghan: Non era un fan della giacca da marinaio. La indossava quasi in tutte le scene, e penso che si fosse stancato. Credo. [Ride] Voleva un look più maturo. Faceva parte del quarto anno di liceo di Edward, e ora si stava per diplomare, aveva una relazione. Aveva indossato felpe e jeans e scarpe da ginnastica, e Robert, il regista [Chris Weitz], e io volevamo ritrarlo più come un gentiluomo, più elegante e classico. Con i nostri personaggi vampiro, sono sempre tornata al periodo di tempo a cui si erano rivolti per vedere se ci fosse qualche elemento con cui tentare di simulare abiti contemporanei. È venuto fuori del periodo di Edwardian, intorno al 1910. Naturalmente, la maggior parte dei signori di quel momento avrebbe indossato completi, cappotti, cappelli, ecc. Dovevamo scegliere qualcosa che fosse stato iconico per il personaggio che sarebbe stato sufficiente per essere usato in tutto l’intero film. Proprio all’inizio del film, ha un completo scolastico, e poi c’è la festa di compleanno di Bella e la catastrofe. Così Edward finisce nello stesso costume per il resto del film. Stavo pensando di fargli indossare solo una camicia e un paio di pantaloni, ma Robert ha voluto un completo.
Così ho trovato un look moderno e contemporaneo che sarebbe stato interessante per lui e per l’enorme fanclub, un taglio molto sottile, e un tessuto che per me faceva un po’ vecchio mondo – questo tessuto di tweed bellissimo che abbiamo avuto dall’Inghilterra. Aveva la base grigia, che è una specie di essenziale per i personaggi dei Cullen nei loro toni freddi, ma aveva anche interessanti chiazze di colore blu, che è anche legato ai Cullen, e un pochino di ruggine, che mi è piaciuto perché Bella indossa colori della terra e questo l’ha legata nella foto. La trama generale del completo avrebbe retto bene, non importa ciò che stava facendo: All’interno della casa per la festa, o nella foresta, o nella camera dei Volturi. Abbiamo mostrare il fatto che il vestito fosse indossato, ed è molto più facile rovinare qualcosa che abbia una texture piuttosto che un pezzo piatto di lana. I suoi pantaloni sono consumati alle ginocchia, sono sgualciti.

No fueron muchas las tomas que pudimos ver de ellos…pero en todas parecían divertirse y pasarla bien…

Yes,  another New Moon article to throw in the pile. So, I saw the movie, like the rest of the planet, i guess, (especially the girls) and it was actually ok. I must say i was assuming it was going to hurt, i went thinking to myself “it’s probably gonna suck” cause the first one was no work of art (please don’t murder me, twihards) but it was actually alright. I liked the fact that it was funnier than the first one and that it kind of sticks to the book.

About that, actually, Twilight is not all about the movie, guys, and i have to say that the books are pretty good too (i have only read the first three, i have to admit). They’re easy to read, quirky, funny and they always make you wonder what’s gonna happen next. They’re that sort of books you can just read on a train and forget about the world around you and start smiling or giggling, making the people around you ask themselves if you’re crazy. There’s just something about them that makes you want more and more.

The movie should make you want to read the book, to find out more details (not just to harrass R.Patts, girls!) and it does its job quite well. Not to mention, the strong reactions in the cinema at different points in the movie. And by strong reactions i mean the gasps and excited screams when either Jacob or Edward took their shirts off (did anyone faint?) and the “aww”s coming from the ladies. They really are taking this whole team Edward – team Jacob too far..On that note check this facebook group out :

Taylor Swift is apparently furious over all the time Kristen Stewart and Taylor S.’s rumored boyf, Taylor Lautner, have been spending together.

According to London’s Now! Magazine (a very reputable source hahaha), Taylor S. “doesn’t buy the whole notion that Kristen only has eyes for Robert Pattinson. She believes she’s secretly longing to get her hooks into Taylor even though they’re just good friends.”

And Taylor S. is allegedly pissed Kristen has been flirting with Taylor L. and hanging all over him during the press for New Moon.

I know this is all a crock of bull, but I just had to share, it’s so funny. You can read all the nonsense at the source. The best part is when it says Taylor Swift is “furious” over all the time Taylor L. and Kristen have been spending together, because Taylor S. clearly has no idea when Taylor L. and Kristen are working.
