Works from Zalikha’s first model photoshoot exercises. Her friend, Atira is not trained to be a model. Surprisingly, for a beginner, Zalikha’s works comes out quite well. Supervised by Rupajiwa at WorkBaseTiga,Wangsa Maju and with help of Ija Juhari (make-up) and of course Atira Ariffyn (which we thought have lots of potential) the exercise is rather successful. So dear audience, we present to you works from our apprentice, Zalikha and her ‘model’ Atira Ariffyn! Do Enjoy!

Die Sonne kann ja über Malaysia doch noch scheinen, zumindest über KL. Das ist dann ein etwas freundlicherer Abschied, als das miese Regenwetter der letzten Zeit. Heute ist ja unser letzter Tag im Büro hier, da morgen ein hoher muslimischer Feiertag ist. Das RZ ist zwar normal besetzt, aber ein Training kann man so nicht sinnvoll durchführen. Gestern haben wir ja die Tests zurückgegeben. War schon ein ungewohntes Gefühl, irgendwie war das doch deutlich mehr „Lehrer“ denn „schulender Kollege“, wie wir es sonst gehalten haben. Die Kollegen waren auch alle recht nervös gewesen. Sie sind es zwar gewöhnt, regelmäßig geprüft zu werden, aber ich glaube die Aufregung vor einer Prüfung verliert man auch als Erwachsener nicht so leicht. Wenn es um irgendwelche formelle Prüfungen geht, bin ich ja auch immer angespannt.

So langsam mischt sich etwas Bedauern über den baldigen Abschied und die Freude auf die Heimkehr mit ins Tagesgeschehen. Einzelne Kollegen, die wir in den letzten Tagen hier nicht mehr wiedersehen werden, verabschieden sich schon. Ich habe mir gestern dann auch ein schönes Souvenir besorgt und habe dabei natürlich – wie hier eigentlich üblich – ein wenig gefeilscht. Nur ist man in den Läden im Luxuseinkaufzentrum The Pavilion überhaupt nicht auf Feilschen eingestellt. Ich habe daher auch nur läppische 10 % herausschlagen können, was mir aber schon die Bemerkung eintrug, ich müsste wohl Schotte sein. Beschimpfungen des Kunden nach der Bargain-Phase deuten meist darauf hin, dass man es dem Verkäufer nicht ganz so leicht gemacht hat, wie er es sich von einem westlichen Ausländer vorgestellt hatte. Bei den Preisen im Pavilion brauche ich aber mit Sicherheit kein schlechtes Gewissen haben, den Preis um 10 % gedrückt zu haben. Heute werde ich dann mal testweise meinen Koffer packen. Das ein oder andere bleibt ja hier, anderes ist dazugekommen. Sollte aber alles passen.

The Curiousity Shop is located in between Changkat Bukit Bintang and Jalan Nagasari. Not quite the new kid on the block (it opened four years ago), the Curiousity Shop was born out of owners’, Danny Ho and Lang Chua, passion for collecting vintage items. The Curiousity Shop sells mainly vintage furniture and home décor sourced from Asia and Europe. From chandeliers to lounge chairs and wardrobes, the shop also offers jewellery, watches, vinyl, Nyonya kebaya, typewriters, crockery, posters and lots of other items from the good ol’ days. The price ranges RM5 to the thousands, depending on the item.

Lalu Datuk Seri AnwarIbrahim pula telah memberi peringatan kepada Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin agar menarik balik tuduhan itu dan meminta maaf secara terbuka. Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin mungkin kapisitinya sebagai Timbalan Perdana Menteri enggan berbuat demikian.

Maka Datuk Seri Anwar telah mengarahkan peguamnya untuk menyaman Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin. Berdasarkan senario ini kedua-dua pemimpin melayu ini mungkin merasakan masing-masing adalah perjuang kepada bangsa melayu.

Jika begitu, siapa pula yang boleh dianggap pengkhianat bangsa sehingga orang melayu khususnya rakyat biasa boleh dikatakan hidup merempat di tanahair sendiri? Orang melayu bagaikan melukut di tepi gantang dalam menghadapi arus pembangunan negara.

Mari kita merenung dan berfikir secara tenang tanpa sebarang prejudis, siapa yang sebenarnya pengkianat bangsa? Tan Sri Mahyudin telah menuduh Datuk Seri Anwar sebagai pengkianat bangsa? Benarkah dakwaan itu? Buat masa ini Datuk Seri Anwar tidak punya sebarang kuasa untuk mengubar dasar negara yang boleh menjejaskan kepentingan bangsa.

Malah semasa Datuk Seri Anwar berada dalam UMNO dan ada sedikit kuasa beliau telah melakukan pelbagai perkara untuk kepentingan melayu dan Islam. Siapa yang menubuhkan Universiti dan Bank Islam? Siapa yang membentuk TEKUN yang membantu perniaga kecil mendapatkan pinjaman mudah untuk berniaga?  Anwar bukan?Siapa yang menubuhkan Amanah Ikhtiar juga membantu golongan miskin bumiputra mendapatkan bantuan modal? Siapa yang memberikan 5000 unit Amanah Saham Bumiputra kepada golongan miskin?

Apa yang Tan Sri Mahyudin buat baik semasa menjadi Menteri Besar, Menteri dan sekarang Timbalan Perdana Menteri untuk membantu orang melayu. Keputusan membatalkan penggunaan bahasa pengantar bahasa inggeris dalam pengajaran mata pelajaran sains dan mathematic yang ternyata gagal itu pun tidak dapat dibuat serta merta dan terpaksa ditangguhkan kepada 2012.

Adakah kita boleh mengelarkan Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin sebagai pejuang orang melayu? Kalau soal ini pun tidak berani membuat keputusan bagi membantu anak-anak melayu yang sedang belajar dan menghadapi kesulitan. Sebagai Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan memegang portfolio pendidikan sewajarnya Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin berani membuat keputusan dalam usaha membantu anak-anak melayu dil luarbandar mencapai keputusan yang baik dalam kedua-dua mata pelajaran itu.
Kajian yang dibuat oleh Kementerian Pendidikan sendiri telah menyatakan tinadakan itu tidak memberikan sebarang kesan terhadap pembelajaran dan penguasaan bahasa Inggeris.

Kalau Tan Sri Mahyudin menganggap diri Tan Sri sebagai pejuang dan pembela orang melayu, apa sikap Tan Sri dengan gagasan SATU MALAYSIA yang diperkenalkan oleh Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak? Orang melayu dibawah merasakan gagasan SATU MALAYSIA itu sama dengan gagasan MALAYSIA MALAYSIAN yang di bawa oleh DAP.

Apa maknanya SATU MALAYSIA. Maknanya kita semuanya satu tidak kira bangsa asalkan rakyat Malaysia. Inikah yang dikatakan perjuang bangsa? Cuba tengok peringatan Raja Muda Perak dengan 7 wasiat Raja-Raja Melayu. Adakah UMNO khasnya Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin benar-benar menjaganya? Kita ingin bertanya kepada Tan Sri Mahyudin, siapa yang menukar nama Persekutuan Tanah Melayu kepada Malaysia. Sedangkan nama itu jelas menunjukkan negara ini milik orang melayu? Jawabnya UMNO, jadi bolehkah kita sifatkan UMNO dan Tan Sri Mahyudin sendiri sebagai pejuang bangsa?

Bagaimana pula wasiat Raja-Raja Melayu yang mahukan 50% daripada tanah di negara ini dijadikan Tanah Simpanan Melayu? Adakah UMNO melaksanakannya? Malah satu ketika Tun Dr. Mahathir semasa menjadi Perdana Menteri mencadangkan agar status Tanah Simpanan Melayu dibuang atas alasan untuk meningkatkan nilainya. Untuk apa meningkatkan nilai tanah itu kalau selepas itu tanah tersebut akan terlepas daripada pegangan orang melayu? Apa yang Tan Sri Mahyudin Yasin buat sebagai perjuang dan pembela orang melayu waktu itu?

Wasiat Raja-Raja melayu seterusnya , Kami isytiharkan Islam adalah Agama Persekutuan; PERKARA INI JUGA ADA TAPI SEKADAR PENGISYTIHARAN TIDAK ADA PERLAKSANAAN DASAR YANG BERSESUAIAN DENGAN ISLAM SEBAGAI AGAMA RASMI. APA YANG ADA PADA NAMA KALAU TIDAK ADA PERLAKSANAANNYA? APA YANG RAJA-RAJA MELAYU KITA BUAT APABILA PERLAKSANAAN SEGALA DASAR NEGARA ISLAM TIDAK SELARAS DAN SELARI DENGAN AGAMA RASMI. APA YANG TAN SRI MAHYUDIN YASIN BUAT SEMASA TUN DR. MAHATHIR MEMPERTIKAIKAN HUKUM HUDUD, BEKAS PERDANA MENTERI ITU PERNAH BERKATA ZAMAN NABI MUHAMAD DULU MANA ADA GILECT DAN KALAU LAKSANA HUKUM HUDUD ORANG BOLEH MAKAN SUP TANGAN DAN PELBAGAI PENGHINAAN KEPADA HUKUM ALLAH AZZAWAJALLA, KETIKA ITU DI MANA TAN SRI JIKA BENAR TAN SRI SEORANG PEJUANG.

JADI SEKALI LAGI KITA INGIN BERTANYA TAN SRI MAHYUDIN DI MANA DAN BAGAIMANA? KALAU BENAR TAN SRI SEORANG PEJUANG MELAYU TULEN TAN SRI TIDAK AKAN BENARKAN PERKARA YANG KITA MILIKI TERLEPAS BEGITU SAJA.

Jadi kita persoalannya siapa yang kianat terhadap perjuangan bangsa melayu , ANWAR ATAU MUHYIDIN YASIN? JELAS DI SINI TAN SRI MAHYIDIN YASIN, TIMBALAN PERDANA MENTERI MALAYSIA ADALAH PENGKIANAT KEPADA PERJUANGAN BANGSA MELAYU. WALAUPUN BERTANDING ATAS PARTI MELAYU TAPI TIDAK ADA SATU BENDA YANG KITA DAPAT LIHAT TAN SRI MAHYUDIN BUAT UNTUK ORANG MELAYU BAIK DI SELURUH NEGARA MAHUPUN SEMASA MENJADI MENTERI BESAR JOHOR. HARI INI KUASA PENUH YANG ADA DITANGAN UNTUK MEMANSUHKAN PENGAJARAN MATEMATIK DAN SAINS DALAM BAHASA INGGERIS PUN TAK BERANI BUAT, INI YANG DINAMAKAN PEJUANG MELAYU?

Situated in a converted pre-war building, this gallery holds 12 exhibitions a year by local and international talents. Three floors worth of paintings and sculptures set in a unique backdrop ready to be explored .

Wei-Ling Gallery, previously known as the Townhouse Gallery was set up by Lim Wei-Ling and Yohan Rajan in a townhouse in Bukit Bandaraya, Kuala Lumpur in May 2002 to showcase the works of contemporary artists in Malaysia.

The gallery represents a core number of artists dedicated to their journey and discipline. The objective of the gallery is to nurture their entire stable of artists in achieving local and international recognition. Being extremely discerning in the selection of works and artists they represent, the gallery is thus able to showcase promising and cutting edge works by exciting artists. In recent times, they have expanded their stable to include several young and talented artists. Programs have been put in place to support and develop their careers so that they may form the next generation of contemporary artists in the country.

From its inception, they have endeavoured to promote local contemporary art to the public. They cater to the needs of local and international collectors interested in Malaysian contemporary art. Collectors are kept abreast with activities from their folio of artists and oeuvre of artistic productions. The gallery also provides consultancy services for new collectors, be they private or corporate bodies. Their concern is to introduce collectors to works by serious artists with integrity.

Wei-Ling Gallery plays host to as many as 12 exhibitions annually. In 2004, the gallery opened its doors to well-known foreign artists, and has since hosted several international shows at its space. They include solo exhibitions by the revered Cuban artist Nelson Dominguez, the renowned Pakistani sculptor Amin Gulgee, paintings by the celebrated Australian artist Stewart MacFarlane and most recently the ground breaking photographic works of Michal Macku. They also held group shows by some of India’s top artists including MF Hussain and Sunil Das.

In April 2008, Wei-Ling Gallery became the first Malaysian gallery to participate in China International Gallery Exposition (CIGE), a prestigious international art fair which focuses on global contemporary art.

The Annexe Gallery, located in the Central Market Annexe building, was launched in January 2007 as a centre for contemporary arts.

Perfectly complementing the more traditional Central Market, The Annexe Gallery provides spaces for the ongoing expression of present generations. Since opening, they have attracted countless youths and adults seeking ideas, insights and inspiration.

The Annexe Gallery is much loved for its accessibility, interactivity and alternative nature. They have featured art ranging from populist to political, multi-disciplinary to unclassifiable. They aim to provide a democratic space that champions a diversity of perspectives, giving us new ways of understanding ourselves and each other. They have successfully built a community of artists, activists, thinkers and believers in freedom of expression.

The Annexe Gallery is on the 2nd floor of Central Market Annexe, which is directly behind the Central Market building. If you emerge from the back entrance of Central Market, you should see Central Market Annexe right before you. Our office is in the loft of Gallery 1, which is the gallery on the left as you face the gallery.

If you’re taking public transport, the nearest train stations to Central Market are the Pasar Seni LRT station and Masjid Jamek LRT station, both about the same distance from The Annexe Gallery. If you’re taking a cab, most taxi drivers will understand “Central Market” as the destination, but you will have to orientate yourself toward to the Annexe Gallery behind it.

The math on clubbing was all so easy. Once, the dichotomy was fairly fierce: high-brow or low-brow. If you wanted low you did Jalan P Ramlee’s many … institutions. Beach Club, Rum Jungle and the like. And if you wanted something higher end you did the hotel bars, Zeta Bar or Luna. Where is the god of moderation and subtly here?

Then came Asian Heritage Row and changed that equation by giving a whole handful of great clubs that a slightly more sophisticated clientele could choose from and yet a good healthy dose of what matters, wink wink. While CBB (Changkat Bukit Bintang) has stolen a bit of AHR’s thunder, there are a few places that come in and surprise. Think Sebastian Haegel’s Space or William Ng’s Asian Heritage Mansion.

In that tradition of (possible) surprise a new venue, Blanc Le Club, has come in (taking over from failed Atrium) and fits a cosy niche for EDM lovers, something that works very well as a weeknight club and delivers good music.
Though the music policy is still trying to find its feet there are some encouraging signs that bode well (bring back Ray Soo!) as does the overall interior, a coolly lit space of white that works. But alas the city is very much awash in similar venues, Blanc Le Club will have to work hard to get their footing. But if they do provide that very French idea of weekday clubbing – going down at 10pm and hanging with friends for a few hours while listening to some groovy tunes – they could secure a spot in the clubbing hotspots of the city.

Unemployment has caused me to be nocturnal once again. Martin was gonna pick Sean, Nique and I up at 8.30 A.M. and I was so afraid to sleep the night before, so I was running on one cup of coffee and as many cigarettes I could lay my hands on. I think we were all too excited for cheap M’sian cigarettes (they cost about half the price as S’pore’s), so all 4 of us had none.

Nique was the first to drive while Martin took a nap. That left Sean with us, and us can get really annoying with no sleep and this song on repeat.

Martin took over when we got deeper into M’sia.

Stopped for petrol! Nique wanted to try pumping it herself.

Feeling the Christmas mood yet?

Almost every corner had people taking tourist-y pictures.

I swear, Martin & I were most enthusiastic about posing.

Tried to make our way to a public singalong event!

The traffic is crazy. I don’t know why they relied on traffic police instead of functioning traffic lights.

We missed the singalong and a traffic police said to us, “Look so pretty, no legs no hands also no use”. Yup, his way of trying to get us out of the way. Haha, what the hell.

Got candy and went shopping!

Haha the following is hilarious. We were gonna go back to the hotel after a long day, and we went to pay for parking.

It amounted to 8RM. After putting all the coins and small notes we had, we realised we were 2RM short. We didn’t have any other smaller change, so we had to give 10RM note.

Me: Good luck, they’re gonna give you back the change in coins.
Nique: Haha, yeah! *puts her hands to her ears while anticipating the noise of falling coins*

No trinkling, notes fell out of the change slot instead.

Sean felt some sort of achievement.

Finally back in the hotel!

We had connecting rooms and Sean had to borrow our toilet. Don’t we have a cool layout? Teehee.

He totally didn’t mind peeing in our presence. So I helped myself to taking pictures of his ass.

The bed is so comfortable, I swear. It really sucks you in.

After resting a little while and watching this murder/junkie/doctor German movie, we headed to the hotel’s pub called Luna. All the way at the 33rd storey!

It’s beautiful. I didn’t know the pool was at the roof! We had a daybed and it overlooks the city. I am scared of heights, so I stared at the pool area.

The place was a bit too dark for drinking. Their music was so-so. & there’s no crowd to talk about. But it is still really beautiful.

With my girlfriend, who sat next to the window. And to think she’s more afraid of cable cars than I am!

Während in Deutschland das Thema “Verbot von Paintball” seit dem Ende des Wahlkampfes wieder etwas weniger heiß gegessen wird, ist Paintball in Malaysia davon weitestgehend verschont geblieben, obwohl sich auch hier Bedenkenträger finden. Finden möchte nun aber erstmal die Polizei von KL ein paar Leute, nämlich ein paar neue Herausforderer für das Paintball-Team der Polizei. Gesucht werden eingespielte Teams mit bis zu 5 Personen, die an bis zu drei Abenden die Woche bereit wären gegen das Team der Stadtpolizei in der Trainingshalle des Polizeisportvereins anzutreten. Vollständige Schutzausrüstung ist erforderlich, denn die Polizei ist hier nicht nur im Straßenverkehr für ihre kompromisslose Vorgehensweise bekannt.

Ok! Now we’re getting to part 4. Hmm.. I guess the sequence is not proper, please pardon me about that.
