After spending our Raya break abroad, wifey & I began to crave for some local fare so we decided to have our fill. We chose this outlet after reading it from a flyer.

This outlet has a simple decor with indoor/outdoor seating and I guess the owners must enjoy dancing the Cha Cha (查查) so much that they name their outlet after it!

Cha Cha original Pan Mee (查查正宗板面) @ RM 5.50 ~ Wifey went for this hand peeled version that comes with the standard potato leaves, sliced mushrooms & minced meat. The soup is good and the dough is smooth but a bit thick for her ! Slighty thinner would be better! A 7/10!

Cha Cha Chili Pan Mee (查查辣椒板面/干捞) @ RM 5.50 ~ I ordered this version as I wanted something spicy. Instead of the common flat strip type, a round version of noodle is used. Not bad and quite nice too! As I was prepared for a spicy taste, I was puzzled when I took my first bite only to find it tasting like an ordinary dry pan mee! Probably knowing we’re new customers, the lady boss came over and told me that I have to add the chili flakes myself as one can control the level of spiciness this way. Point taken! Tasty! An 8/10!

This bowl of soup comes with my chili pan mee. The soup tasted ok but the potato leaves were old and chewy. A 4/10!

Spicy Soup Chili Pan Mee (查查辣椒板面/清汤) @ RM 5.50 ~ Mom ordered the hand peeled version that comes with meatball, bean curd skin (f腐竹). The soup was rather spicy but it gets a little bitter as it goes along maybe due to the fact of being too spicy. Mom did not enjoy it that much due to the bitterness of the soup. The dough was smooth but a little thick. A 5/10!

Cha Cha Cha Yoke (查查炸肉) @ RM 5.50 ~ Deep fried and well marinated with crispy skins and tender meat. Good! An 8/10!

Different type of chillies available for your own selection. I never had enough of them, especially the chilli flakes! I whacked half a bottle in my bowl of pan mee!

Plum Pear Juice (砂梨果汁) @ RM 2.90 ~ Good thirst quencher especially after a spicy bowl on pan mee! A 9/10!

3 Color Tea (三色奶茶) @ RM 3.50 ~ A combination of delicious flavours of milk, tea & palm syrup served in separated layers in a single glass. Sweet & creamy! An 8/10!

Totaled @ RM 28.40 for this simple meal at a simple cafe. Besides the normal pan mee, Cha Cha offers other varieties of pan mee such as the curry version, the chili prawn, cha yoke and I would like to try the sour plum pan mee on my next visit. It’s something like the Teochew steam fish broth, according to the friendly lady boss, Jess. Hope I won’t regret it or maybe I should ask wifey to try instead! Till then…Happy Malaysia Day!

Another Sunday came by and wifey suggested we go out for lunch. The question is where? I’m always lazy when it comes to deciding on venues! Kuchai Lama? Sure…

Went a few rounds and saw this newly opened restaurant by the name of D’Rich, King of Good Food! King of Good Food?? Wow! Must check it out then!

Restaurant D’Rich-King of Good Food ~ It was packed with people so the food must be real good!

Honestly, every item in the menu makes your tummy growls! I can’t wait to taste my Mutton Curry Rice while wifey ordered the White Tom Yam Mee Hoon!

Mutton Curry Rice @ RM 11.90 ~ As I was busy flipping through their attractive menu, this plate of “pathetic” Mutton Curry Rice was served. I thought they sent me the kid’s serving! Look at the pathetic portion! Even my 7 year old son can finish this off and still feel hungry! I’ve counted the number of pieces of mutton that came along. All in all 5 tiny pcs and the rest are potatoes and they dare charge me a whopping RM 11.90 for this?? One only need to pay RM 5-6.00 for this kinda serving in a Nasi Kandar outlet, which is relatively known for being expensive! Gosh! I felt ripped off! A 7/10 on taste and a 0/10 on value!

Mind you, this bowl of so called White Tom Yam has yet to be touched! The soup is as murky as those in the Klang river and not as claimed in the menu. It’s sweet rather than spicy and sour. Wifey did not want the mussels and requested it to be replaced by prawns instead but the conveniently forgotten to have them replaced! By the way, this bowl of thingy took 15 minutes to arrive, only after we reminded them! It got wifey so damn bloody thirsty after this ridiculous MSG ladened bowl of tom yam!! A 0/10 for taste and 0/10 for value!

I have some additional photos taken but just didn’t feel like posting them! This place is a total rip off!! I would never put my foot ever again into this place, even if it’s for FREE!! King of good food? I beg to differ! And yes, I’m still hungry and pissed!

I can’t wait to taste my Mutton Curry Rice and wifey went for the White Tom Yam Mee Hoon!

Mutton Curry Rice @ RM 11.90 ~ As I was busy flipping through the menu, this “pathetic” plate of Mutton Curry Rice was served. I thought they sent me the kid’s serving! Look at the pathetic portion! Even my 7 year old son can finish this off and still feel hungry! I’ve counted the number of pieces of mutton that came along. All in all 5pcs and the rest are potatoes and they dare charge me a whopping RM 11.90 for this?? One only need to pay RM 5-6.00 for this kinda serving in a Nasi Kandar outlet, which is relatively known for being expensive! Gosh! I felt ripped off! A 7/10 on taste and a 0/10 on value!

White Tom Yam Mee Hoon @ RM 11.90 (Menu) ~ Doesn’t it look so delicious? Wait, don’t be fooled!! This is only a picture from the menu!

White Tom Yam Mee Hoon @ RM 11.90 (The actual thing) ~See the difference? Mind you, this bowl of so-called White Tom Yam has yet to be touched! The soup is as murky as those in the Klang river and not as claimed in the menu. It’s sweet rather than spicy and sour. Wifey did not want the mussels and requested it to be replaced by prawns instead. How many prawns can you see? Where are the additional prawns? Conveniently forgotten? By the way, this bowl of thingy took 15 minutes to arrive, only after we reminded them! It got wifey so damn bloody thirsty after this ridiculous bowl of MSG ladened tom yam!! A 0/10 for taste and 0/10 for value!

I have some additional photos taken from this place but just didn’t feel like posting them! This place is a total rip off!! I would never put my foot ever again into this place, even if it’s for FREE!! And yes, I’m pissed!

What is PRUmy child?

PRUmy child is a regular premium investment-linked insurance plan that serves to fulfill
the protection needs of you and your child, allowing you to plan ahead for their
future… today.

What are the benefits available in this plan?

For the child
Should the unfortunate happen to your child, such as death, the benefit payable is the:
• Sum assured & total value of units in the account1
Should your child suffer from Total and Permanent Disability (TPD):
(a) before the age of 16 years, the maximum sum assured is payable (subject to RM500,000 per life); or
(b) after age 16 years but prior to age 70, the maximum sum assured is payable (subject to a total of RM4 million per life)
In the event of TPD, the sum assured is payable subject to a maximum lump sum of RM1 million upon claim. The balance of the sum assured will be paid upon the first anniversary of the TPD. Upon earlier death, the balance of any sum assured will be paid immediately.

Upon maturity of plan
Value of all units in the account is payable when your child reaches the age of 100
years on their next birthday.

Upon surrender
Value of units in the account at the point of surrender.

For a pregnant mother
It’s never too early to start protection with PRUearly start or PRUbest start benefit that offers Child Care Benefit and Pregnancy Care Benefit for pregnant mothers and their unborn child.
Please refer to the PRUearly start / PRUbest start Leaflet for further details

Who can take up the PRUmy child plan?

You can take up this plan for your unborn child as early as 18 weeks into your pregnancy, or for your child who is between 1 – 18 years of age on his / her next birthday. The parent, who must be between 18 – 60 years old, owns the policy and is able to adapt it as they see fit for the benefit of the child.

How long do I need to pay premiums for?

Premium is payable throughout the whole policy term until the expiry of the policy. Upon expiry of any optional or add-on benefits, the premiums will be reduced accordingly.

How can I enhance the coverage of the PRUmy child plan?

With additional premium, you can extend the PRUmy child plan beyond the ordinary by attaching any of the following optional / add-on cover that will insure your child and loved ones against unexpected events:

Critical Illness Cover
Takes care of your child in the event they are diagnosed with critical illness, including child-specific illnesses under the new PRUessential child1 rider that covers them up to the age of 25 years next birthday.

Payor Cover
Pays for your plan in the event of death (if applicable), TPD before age 70 or critical illness.

Accident Cover
Comprehensive coverage for injuries due to accident.

Health and Medical Cover (PRUhealth)
Takes care of major medical bills in the event that your child needs surgery or outpatient treatment and if he or she is hospitalised.

How do I start building my child’s education fund?

You can attach either PRUsaver kid or PRUedusaver where the premiums will be invested in our series of PRUlink or PRUlink education funds.

Is PRUmy child eligible for tax relief?

During childhood

As a parent, you should be entitled to education tax relief on premiums paid for PRUedusaver, PRUsaver
kid or Parent Payor. Furthermore, premiums paid for PRUfamily income, PRUfamily double income and PRUessential child may also qualify for tax relief.

During adulthood (Above age 25 at next birthday)

Your child will be entitled to life / medical tax relief upontransfer of ownership.
