Three days back from my holiday and it’s scorching here! I know I’m a little late but..Merry Christmas! Today’s look is inspired by some insane artist I met on holiday, I just threw anything of alike color together and snapped some pictures ;D I couldn’t really care that I’m dressed up in almost all freebie, mehh I can’t just buy whatever I think is awesome so, yahh freebie wardrobe ftw! okayy so my post could have come earlier but I got a bit carried away by a couple of new ps brushes I found for free and these snowflakes are the most fun since crayons! I made a postcard ) and a portrait that I didn’t mean to scare you with. I’ve got to say I don’t just have shaky hands but bad imagination so wallah an odd open-mouthed edit. ;o So anyway, I have yet to taste eggnog and to catch up with my fav tv shows and I hope everyone had a great christmas and I wish a great year ahead! omg, did i talk too much?

I have spent so much money in the last few weeks. Fri.day had a winter sale, Surf Co. had a sale not to mention a new hair. And that’s not even mentioning all the things I bought at the stores i discovered while doing the Down the Chimney Hunt! My tank top (undershirt), the long sleeve shirt and the black jean skirt area ll from fri.day.. and all bought during the sale (I think i own most of the store now). My tights were part of Kyoot’s Black friday 50L purchase. The boots are from Surf Co. and also bought during a sale. My scarf and mittens were free from the Down the Chimney Hunt and I love them! The snowflake sticking detail is awesome. My whole outfit cost roughly $300L! The only thing new is the hair. This is the new Pam long+bangs hair from Surf Co. and it’s simply adorable. Has a cute little pom pom in back.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I loved the [PF] skins so much that I went back and about a pack of 4.. today I have on the Angel make up one and I am still loving these skins.

I don’t know anything about skiing, snowboarding or any other winter sports, but I do know that the slopes are a great place to find cosy cafes selling oversized mugs of thick, creamy hot chocolate – and you must understand that my need for a cocoa fix is strong indeed.

The skin sets off this look, and was an easy choice from Pink Fuel. Mochi Milena has created a very sweet looking face on this skin, the flushed cheeks and smattering of freckles giving a very youthful feel. The lips on this skin are gorgeous, pursed and slightly open with a natural tone and subtle shimmer that really brings them to life. Detailing and shading is soft all over the body, giving the smoked out eyes a real drama, particularly when set against the bright highlights to the top of the eye socket.

This cosy sweater is from Prelude. The colour grabbed be initially – this looks great with pretty much any skin tone and hair colour, and as such is one of my favourites. I was impressed with the multitude of layering options which really do allow for some fantastic mixes with other pieces. The material is textured to great effect with some nice creasing to the back and front. The rolled collar features a three button close to the left, and has a small excess of material that rolls out from beneath, giving it enough quirk to be different to the majority of turtlenecks on the market.

The bolero is a shirt layer from an Ivalde outfit, a woolen cropped top with crochet surround. The shape adds interest, as does the emboridered motif around the buttons that fasten across the chest.

I used the snakeskin belt from Artilleri which I’ve previously blogged: there’s no shortage of pretty black belts on the market, but I do love the emphasis this puts on the hips through it’s wide, runched sides. I used part of a skirt from Kyoot to create a simple, figure-hugging lower, allowing me to add some patternation on the legs.

These pretty hatchwork tights from Twosome are essential winterwear. They come as part of a pack which contains various colours and some thigh high black socks, all opaque with a similar styling. There are seams, but they’re actually pretty well wrapped for the most part so it didn’t bother me at all.

Boots are by the talented Lyanis Sin. I previously featured these in a lighter colour on the Lookr blog (scoot through and take a look at the picture if you’d like another closeup). The slouched uppers fold into a sturdy base, the toe stitched with an extra piece of leather which finishes under a leather strap, one of three that style the boot and hold a silver ring in place to the side. They’re a very comfortable looking ankle boot, and if the technicalities of snow-striding don’t bother you too much, you don’t have to limit them to your shopping excursions.

The hairstyle is from ETD and is an old favourite. It’s an easy to wear updo, the fringe swept across to the side of the face with hair pulled back to a cascade of loose curls, with messy tendrils snaking out to the sides. I accessoried with a super sweet pair of earmuffs from Chapeau tres Mignon. The simple band holds floppy eared bunny heads over the ears on either side, these 100% fake fur critters coming complete with glass eye, button noses, and bristle whiskers.

If there is is one hunt I can recommend this season it’s the “Down the Chimney Hunt” (see the Hunt Locations Blog) which is producing fabulous gifties such as the Brown Cropped Jacket @ Kyoot.  Worn here with the *Noju* Hair and Jeans by Axe-Wear. Ciggie by Personal seems to be permanently glued to the lips.  Naughty Xanthe!

The clock is ticking!  Hurry over to the Footwear Expo before it closes at the end of the day!

I’m not quite sure why we collectively equate shoes with sex, but we do.  And no shoe screams sex more than an over-knee boot.

These are, of course, three examples of knee-high boots at the Footwear Expo.  Structured, slouchy, or skin-tight, these boots will add sexiness to any look.  You know you want some — over-knee boots, that is!

So I tried to get a jump on things and start this hunt last night, but it turns out, a lot of stores weren’t quite ready and the official start to the hunt has been delayed until noon SLT today.  You can check the blog for a list of stores, which is what I did and just hopped around to find the stuff that was out. 

I did find lots of good stuff, but if I were you, I would wait until they get everything up and running so you don’ t have to go back to a ton of stores like I do.  I think this is definately (edit, spelling fail) a hunt worth doing!  Only 100 stores and there are tons of great stores.  I can’t wait to see the rest of the prizes!

Seasonal Savings!

Black Friday… my cue to stay off the roads, huddle up on the sofa, and read a good book.  Or in the case of this year, to work.  Never have I been one to brave the hordes and fight the frenzy to save a few extra bucks in the real life grid.  In fact, never have I been a huge fan of shopping at all, in that alternate world we like to call real life.  However, this year, I decided to change things up a bit, shop till I dropped, black friday style… in SL!  And boy was it worth it, 50L  Black Friday was a huge success!  While many fridays I find less than a handful of goods to add to my collection, this one… I found TONS!  And not all of them are even pictured here.  Showcased this week, are the amazing boots that Surf Couture put out for.. thats right… 50L!!! Aren’t these boots absolutely gasm worthy? Available in any color you might want to complete that cold weather friendly look, these red holiday sweater print ones are definitely my choice, and even better when you save $L getting them! The bag from Tres Blah, also one of my favorite features, is flawlessly ruffled and adorably animated.  The glasses, also tb, are just as adorkable as the bag, and add the right oomph to this skin… FABULOUSLY FREE FROM FREE SPEERIT!  Join the Free Speerit group, and check the notices, and you too can be glowing gold with Fiona.  Sh*t Happens released 4 sets of tights, in 13 colors each!  Lamb, really blew me away with their 50 L Friday releases, 3 styles of hair, this one, being my favorite by far.  Vivid color, edgy cut, unique in its styling… Whoop Dee Doo lives up to its name.  The knit cap, hard to see, is from Epoque and I love love love it, for 50 L, it changes color, and fits so perfectly over several styles that most fashionistas like myself have lingering in their inventory.  caLLie cLine released these cute antlers for the event, which, are far better than any pair of antlers that I have from former years of Christmasing about the grid, along with this giant black rock ring.  With the tweed jacket from Fishy Strawberry, and cord skirt from kyoot (not 50L friday in this color), the look completes itself… and my seasonal kick off!

I want to take this time… to profess my love for 50Ls Friday! I personally hate hunts! The lag and half the time, the stuff is filled with, well.. things I don’t ever need! Plus at times with 100 stores or more, I lose my need to do the hunt after maybe.. store 5! With 50Ls Friday, most designers make something new and special for it, and i honestly don’t mind paying for anything if i love it! I’ve gotten to ‘discover’ a few stores through the program and have become a frequent shopper at them on regular days! Weekend Fever is also fantastic, a theme per week and designers taking that as a challenge, this past weekend it was Brown and some of the stuff i got was way too cute!

I’m showing off some of my 50Ls Friday goodies, I already own a few Pomski boots, but this Coffee Candy color is wayyyy too sweet to pass up! I’m feeling all sorts of Pretty n Bundled up, and got hit on by a girl while running around grabbing SLurls for this post. ROFL

I don’t believe any woman should live without a wardrobe full of gorgeous skirts, but by the same token I know that a good pair of trousers can be just as feminine. When it comes down to it everything is about the styling, and if you have the right cut and dress yourself to suit you can easily be as much of a knockout in pants as in a ballgown.

These dressy trousers are from Pink Outfitters, shown here in the darkest shade. With a light pinstripe running throughout, the front crease is what really gives these pants that little extra. They’re cut to flare on the leg, with an upturned hem I chose to emphasise by wearing some two-tone stilettos from Maitreya. These heels are so sharp you could cut yourself on them – but at the same time they add a necessary femininity to this look, as well as complimenting the line of the trousers. The stark colour contrast is very much a part of this outfit: wearing a solid colour wouldn’t have given the extra bite that these do.

A crisp, white shirt is a wardrobe essential, and Connors have done a fantastic job with this offering. The detail is superb with every stitch on the collar accounted for. I love the simplicity of the roll back cuffs, and the unbuttoned front leaves enough to the imagination that you can probably get away with this on a professional level… just don’t expect everyone to immediately meet your gaze.

The shape of the shirt is enhanced by this pretty waistcoat from Fri.day: the silhouette is wonderfully alluring. Three buttons hold the front panel at the stomach, leading up to a halter neck with a low line back, meaning whichever way you look this is undeniably a killer combination.

Accessories could make or break an outfit like this. I wanted something bold and found these bright red earrings from Lucas Lameth’s collection. They’re a simple drop hoop design carved from a vibrant shell and are sold with a matching necklace (which I’m not wearing here). I favoured a tie for this look and found a short red version from Kyoot which really seemed to suit. This colour is available as a gift for subscribing to the group, but you can purchase others from a vendor in store.

For an inkeeping do I chose a short pony-tail hairstyle from ETD: Sadie’s chopped style provides a frame for the face and a line to the eyes. I pressed the point with this makeup from Belleza’s Jesse range. The smoked out eyes with dark brows make a statement all of their own, bright lips working with the accessories to bring a strength of colour. The Jesse skins are doubtless Tricky’s best work so far: every aspect of the shading softly defines the face and body, working with your shape on every level. I’m not wearing the cleavage version here, but you’ll find this and hairbase options in every pack. I wish more skin makers would offer multiple options like this. Not only does it give great value for money but it also means you can easily produce the very best styling for your outfit on any occasion.

The finishing touch was this binder from Reek. It’s sold with two rezzable versions as well as the hand held, which comes complete with two animations and multiple texture changes. I love quirky accessories like this, especially when they’re so well made.
