I think this summer of 2010 is being as over-hyped as Windows Vista was when it first came out

I think this summer of 2010 is being as over-hyped as Windows Vista was when it first came out… I don’t see anything major happening. I think LeBron will stay in Cleveland, and Wade will stay in Miami..

No, Wade isn’t going to Chicago.. the Bulls are like the Cubs they are cursed ever since the great Jordan left. The Bulls are a one man team… It’s the Rose show and the future of that franchise is riding on the point guard’s ailing ankle. Why would Wade leave Miami to go to a team that is worse? He isn’t just going to go to the Bulls because it’s his home town and he idolizes Michael Jordan. LeBron to the Clippers? Is that even a relevant team? I thought the only team in LA was the Lakers… That rumor probably came from some Clipper that got annoyed with Blake Griffin not playing and he made the LeBron rumor. Okay.. so Wade and Lebron in New York. No, that won’t work, LeBron nor Wade want to play in that mess that we call Knicks. Sorry to break the news to you guys, Wade and LeBron are staying in their respective places… Miami and Cleveland.

Where else could Wade go? Give me a place you think he can go and I’ll shut it down because it would be as dumb as the HEAT Message Boards telling us Riley is actually thinking of a trade with Houston that will send Wright and O’Neal to Houston for Tracy McGrady…

Now, How about the other players. How about Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Manu Ginobili, Carlos Boozer, and Tracy McGrady? Here is what Miami is going to do. They should go after Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer. No, they shouldn’t go after LeBron James, regardless what Wade said about thinking he “want” to play with James.. No, he really doesn’t. Wade is a superstar and so is James, they can’t co-exist in a NBA Team.

Bosh and Boozer would be great for Miami. They can move Bosh to the center position, put Boozer in the power forward, Beas in the small forward, Wade at shooting guard, and Chalmers running the point. That’s a monster roster. then with the money left we should sign some second-tier free agents who are willing to sign for less money in order to play with a championship contender.

I know many of you people don’t agree with me leaving Chalmers as the point.. Well though, I think Chalmers is the next Rajon Rondo of the NBA. Give him time, he will flourish under a star-studded team much like Rondo.

How can Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers hit so many game winners, time and time again?

Kobe has mentioned he remains so cool under pressure because he does not get too amped up when things are going well or too low when things are going poorly. Kobe says he keeps his intensity level right in the middle. If he were to get too amped he would have too much adrenaline and miss his shots. Staying at an even keel in your mood under pressure allows you to be the master of your emotions.

After watching Kobe Bryant drop 42 points on the Chicago Bulls in the “place that Mike built”, I could not help but think that he is a victim of the guy who won those 6 championships in Chi-Town. Kobe Bryant in any era of basketball could be mentioned as perhaps the greatest of all time. But we now must say “could have” and that’s because any player who plays after Michael Jordan will never get their just due. Just like we date things in history from BC to AD, we now need to start looking at basketball history the same way. There is the before Jordan era (BJ) and the after Jordan era (AJ). Depending on when you played will determine how fans can place you historically. I have said on numerous occasions as great a player Kobe Bryant is I can not put him in my top five as of yet. When I actually said that on my radio show was during last years NBA Finals that Kobe and the Lakers won in convincing fashion over Orlando. At the time I had Kobe ranked seven on my all time NBA player list. That’s right I had him trailing Jordan, Magic, Bird, Chamberlain, Russell, and Kareem. No one can argue that these guys at best can be mentioned with Kobe.

What keeps these players at the top of most NBA fan lists is that these guys played (BJ). Kobe is the lone victim who is playing (AJ). Sure LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony are great young players now, but they are not benefiting from playing in the Jordan era. Kobe is the last link to this greatness. He actually played against Jordan and had the torch passed to him directly. This helps his cause along with his great game to be mentioned along side the greats. All of the players that are on my list had one two special things in common. Dominance on the floor, and championships. At no time is Kobe the second best player on the floor. Never! He is at worst the second best player on a particular night if things are not going well.

Here lie the problems with me putting him ahead of these great players at this point in his career.

He has benefited from a water downed league where he does not have a legitimate rival to his greatness. Until James and Wade came along there was no other player who had the burden Kobe has to carry Jordan’s torch. This may not seem fair to Kobe but that is the way it is.

There has been only one “dynasty team” opposing Kobe’s Lakers during his entire career. That team is the San Antonio Spurs. All of the great players mentioned above had two and sometimes three “dynasty teams” that they had to conquer in order to win their championships. Magic and Kareem’s Lakers teams had to go through Boston and Detroit. Bird’s Celtics had to go through the Lakers, Detroit, and finally MJ’s Bulls. Michael Jordan’s Bulls had to go through Boston, Detroit, L.A., and to a lesser extent Utah who had a great team. Chamberlain and Russell had to go through each other and the Lakers when Wilt was playing in Philadelphia.

Until last year when LeBron won the MVP there had not been a player or non-center to rival Kobe’s greatness. Tim Duncan and Shaquille O’Neal are the only players that could be mentioned with Kobe but the world would have liked a real rival from the non-center position.

Should Kobe win another championship which is highly probable I would have to put him in the top three trailing only Jordan and Russell? His career averages of 25.2 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assist put him in this select category. More importantly he will have 5 NBA Rings to back that. That is where only the true greats can be mentioned because they dominated and won championships. Take nothing away from Kobe because he did not choose which era he was going to play in. He has been a true student of the game and has never shied away from greatness. When he plays the best players in the game you can see him take it upon himself to show those players that he is the “man”. This is what all of the games greats have done over time. They would rise to the occasion to show that they could not be equaled. At least in the (AJ) era Kobe is establishing the (KB) era. That’s not such a bad deal is it?

Lake Lewis is the President and CEO of the Sports Journey Broadcast Network. He was a host on ESPN Radio 1060 Orlando, ESPN Radio 1080 Melbourne and the Drive Time host ESPN Radio 1240 Maryland and WMET 1160 in Washington DC

Stephanie Pratt has been all over Hollywood again. It’s safe to say she’s theHills cast member whose hitting the town most these days. Tuesday, December 8, Stephanie attended the PRVCY Premium Denim Celebrates The Launch Of Lives Inspired Book & CD hosted by AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Lowndes at Beso in Hollywood.

We like her black tights and slingback shoes, but nothing up top works. Big shoulders are indeed in, but Steph’s top looks a little like a bird dumped a bunch of feathers on her. Let’s try again Steph.

Try again she did, the very next day in fact. Wednesday, December 9, Stephanie made her way to The Dr. Romanelli Fraggle Rock Clothing Collaboration, benefiting the Los Angeles mission. The event, held at Kitson, is to help collect holiday toys for the mission.

Stephanie is wearing a similar partially lacy top. Her whole look here looks more polished, less school girl. We love the blue nail polish and the silver clutch. Although we wouldn’t normally think a high waisted skirt would fit Steph’s physique, the oversized blazer makes it work.

Opting for still more activities, Stephanie went to My House nightclub later Tuesday night. Stephanie traded in her skirt for a more casual rocker chic look. Variety is obviously not her problem. She did stick with the silver clutch though, showing it’s versatile and works with several outfits. We all need some of those. Her makeup also looks great, natural is usually best for her.

This guy was there too showing off his love for the Lakers.

A few weeks ago I remembered what it was like to be 11 years old. The Patriots somehow blew a game

A few weeks ago I remembered what it was like to be 11 years old. The Patriots somehow blew a game to the Colts, and I am ashamed to admit that I had a lot of trouble sleeping that night. I thought I had progressed beyond having a sporting event impact my life, but I guess not. But at least the impact was not nearly as substantial as it has been in the past. Maybe that’s because it was not a playoff game and the Patriots live to play another day. But I’d like to think it is because I have somehow matured.

Anyway it got me to thinking about the most painful losses in my sports viewing life. Here is the countdown based on anguish and impact at the time of loss:

10. 10/16/2004 Yankees 19 – Red Sox 8

We had friends over. We had food. We had convinced ourselves that the Sox had only lost two closely fought games (the first two of the series) at Yankee Stadium and could right the ship. And for three innings the Sox counter punched effectively to tie the game at six. Then…..13 unanswered runs from the Yankees. And we watched every single one of them. The food got cold. This was the game that permanently labelled our family television as a conduit for baseball bad luck, and eschewed it to community use only for football games.

Sure the final chapters of the series were glorious. But at the time we had no clue what was coming (as evidenced by Teddy’s getting a “scalped” ticket to Game 4 for less than face value), and there was sadness by the bucketsful.

9. 12/31/78 Oilers 31 – Patriots 14

If the basis for this list is pain, then this one cracks the top ten. My brother and I sat on the concrete and metal at Schafer stadium and froze. Add in that the game was pretty much over by half time, and that there is nothing redeeming in seeing Earl Campbell continuously rush for six yards as the clock winds down on any chance for the Patriots to win. Even the hot chocolate was watery.

8. 5/15/90 Oilers 3 – Bruins 2

First, it’s amazing the Oilers are on this list twice. I wouldn’t have expected that. Second, this game was so frustrating and drawn out, it is likely a key reason that I haven’t cared the same about hockey since.

We started watching this game at a bar in Brookline. The Bruins looked good, and had a lead. Then the game was tied. Then Glen Wesley missed a wide open net that would have given the Bruins game 1 and considerable momentum for the rest of the series. Then the lights went out.

Really. Darkness at the Garden. And confusion at the bar as everyone tried to figure out how long before power would be restored and if it made sense to leave in order to salvage any chance of being alert at work the next day.

I remember deciding to stay at the bar. And then realizing the delay was open ended and dragging on a lot longer than I had thought. So I caught a ride back home to my apartment and tried to fall asleep. But how can you sleep when there is a tied Stanley Cup game in the balance (again this was back whenI cared about hockey)? So after a while I turned on the television to see that the game was just about to resume. And then Edmonton scored in the third OT, what seemed like 3 days after we got to the bar.

7. 6/9/85 Lakers 111 – Celtics 100

Watching in my parents’ basement, this game undid a lot of the mystique that had been built up over my lifetime.

The Celts had won a classic game 4 when Dennis Johnson hit a shot at the buzzer. We watched that game at David O’s house and we went nuts as the shot went through the hoop. I think David’s dog, Whiskey, was severely traumatized. The win meant even if the Lakers won Game 5 (they did) then the series would come back to Boston, where the Lakers had historically always choked.

But they didn’t. Maybe the Lakers were the team of the decade after all. Maybe Magic was better than Bird. Tough concepts to grapple with in the basement as time expired.

6. 1/15/2007 Colts 38 – Patriots 34

There was elation for much of the game, and then a growing gnawing feeling, followed by “whew, looks like we’re going to survive”, before the bottom fell out. Like a roller coaster ride that ends in smashing into a brick wall. The graph below captures it pretty well.

Matt hosted Teddy and me as we watched on a state of the art television. Matt ordered some great gourmet pizzas. And as time ran out Teddy and I just grabbed our coats and said “see ya” before the clock hit zero. A week later I felt bad about our abrupt departure and I apologized to Matt. He said “I completely understand.” And he did.

5. 4/17/87 Leonard def. Hagler

Very similar to the Lakers – Celtics entry in that it undid a lot of the happy ideas I had prior to the fight. Leonard was a pretty boy who got the pub, while Hagler would always deliver. Except that the night I watched this in a crowded fraternity (the only place I could see the fight….already a terrible environment for a loss), Hagler could not land the big punch he needed.

There’s not much worse than being in the minority as a drunken crowd cheers for the underdog.

This loss has diminished significantly since 1987 due to the revisionist view (many people feel Hagler actually won the fight and was robbed) but primarily due to Hagler himself. He walked away from boxing and seemed to get over the loss. If he’s at peace with it then I feel better. But in the spring of 1987, as the second of two top 10 losses in six months, this was very tough to take.

4. 10/25/86 Mets 6 – Red Sox 5

My college roommate Greg and I bought a second hand 12 inch black and white television for $20 for the express purpose of watching the World Series. As the bottom of the tenth inning started and our friends were crowded around the set, I remember thinking to myself for the first time in my life “This is it, the Red Sox are going to win the World Series”.

Fifteen minutes later I had my head out the window in the chilly Vermont winter trying to get air. When that didn’t work well enough I started walking. And I walked. And I walked. In the pitch black Vermont countryside. And every step I took I knew I would have to repeat to get back to my dorm room. But it didn’t matter I just needed space.

When I returned hours later, I realized that my very laid back roommate had dealt with the outcome differently. The dorm bathroom was demolished.

This game definitely would have been higher on the list except for the faint glimmer of hope we had (against hope) that maybe this all could be salvaged in Game 7. As it turns out, the bathroom was fixed a lot quicker than our psyches.

3. 2/3/2008 Giants 17 – Patriots 14

That’s the most beautiful diamond ring I’ve ever seen…..wait what’s that in the middle? Is that a ……crack?

Perfection ruined. I watched the first half at Neil and Liz’s Super Bowl party and then came home for the second half. On the final Giants drive I would pause the picture on Tivo as the ball was snapped and then move frame by frame to see the outcome. I have never seen a defensive player play so well as Adelius Thomas on that series. He was determined to deliver the championship to the Pats; it was incredible, and now forgotten. Because on one play as Thomas had Manning in his grasp he got bumped by his own player and lost him. And as I went frame by frame I got a very sick feeling. Manning heaved it up, and David Tyree (who?) caught the most amazing completion I have ever seen. And now I have to see it 20 times a year just by dint of being an American citizen with a television. It has surpassed the Buckner groundball as the most unavoidable and painful clip a Boston fan must endure.

2. 10/16/2003 Yankees 6 – Red Sox 5

Truth be told I did not want to lift Pedro until Posada was up. And then Posada really only got a lucky bloop double, so I wasn’t all caught up in the Grady Little bashing. But not having a scapegoat may have made the loss hurt all the more.

I was reeling. 30 minutes before Posada’s double I was online looking into flights and World Series game tickets in Florida. Then after the game I took turns picking up Molly and then Emma from their cribs and holding them while Irocked back and forth trying to console myself.

It had all been there for the taking. Maybe, I thought, the Red Sox would win the World Series. But things could never align themselves so perfectly. I mean, how could they ever get the chance again to go to the World Series by clinching in a seventh game in Yankee Stadium after coming back from down 3-2 in games on the brink of elimination? Molly and Emma continued to sleep as I looked for an answer.

1. 10/2/1978 Yankees 5 – Red Sox 4

I sometimes wonder what my life would be like if Yaz had lifted a Gossage pitch over the Green Monster in the ninth inning. Surely I would not have spent almost 30 years with a burden and certain sense of dread when things were going well. Maybe I would even have a full head of hair.

I remember it was a beautiful, sparkling, crisp fall day. We had come back from temple (it must have been Rosh Hashana) and my Great Aunt was with us. She was weak and we had to carry her into our house. But she sure was able to swear vigorously when the final out was made.

This was a two cry game. First after the Bucky Dent home run I went to my room and cried. Then, after convincing myself to remain strong for the team that I had followed so closely (I was eleven years old and these guys were my HEROES in a way that players in the internet age cannot be….we just know too much about everyone now), I watched the Sox claw back to make it close. Then Yaz popped up and I went back to my room to cry again. I came out of my room in October 2004.

So that’s it. The list of 10. The Colts game of a few weeks ago seems even more distant now.

THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

They pulled it out in the last seconds. Meachem became a star on Sunday by making two of the Saints clutch plays. He caught a 53yrd touchdown from Brees, and later in the game, stripped the ball on an interception from Redskins Kareem Moore to return it for another touchdown. Big up to Garrett Hartley, the back up kicker, for bringing home the win… 33-30 over the Washington Redskins to maintain a perfect season so far…

Rhona’s picks for “Chokes” of the week

SHAUN SUISHAM OF THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Unfortunately, we won’t know if the Saints would have pulled out the win if Shaun made his 23yrd field goal, when the Redskins were up at 30-23. The Saints could have only tied the game with the touchdown and field goal they made. It would have made it a 2 score game to win. Whoops!…

I guess the fan said it best…

DWAYNE WADE OF THE MIAMI HEAT

If only Dwayne could have made that clutch “free throw” at the end of the game, Kobe’s shot would have sent them into overtime, and kept hope alive for a Heat win. I guess history would have it to add to Kobe’s long list of “greatest moments”…

The road to a second straight NBA championship seemed easy for the Los Angeles Lakers during their first 19 games of the 2010-2011 season.

Currently owning a hot streak of nine straight wins, following their 108-88 demolition of the road-weary Phoenix Suns, the Lakers appear every bit of a champion.

Ron Artest has been fitting well in the Lakers’ triangle offense, averaging modest numbers of 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals during his first 19 games in the purple-and-gold uniform.

Kobe’s 3 at buzzer sends Lakers past Heat

Down by two with 3.2 seconds left, Kobe Bryant(notes) merely wanted to drive for a tying basket. His foot slipped when he got the ball, and Miami’s defense forced Bryant to throw up an off-balance 3-point shot that was well off target and far too long.

Yes, everything went wrong on the Los Angeles Lakers’ final possession.

Kobe somehow made it all right.

Maybe he was just saving himself for last night’s game against the Lakers, maybe his team was worn out from their win in Portland to open up their road trip, or maybe Denver just wanted revenge for their beatdown in Miami last month… but whatever the reason, Dwanye Wade could not carry his team against fellow draft class of 2003 member Carmelo Anthony and the determined Nuggets squad on Thursday. Nene (pictured above), Birdman and the Denver bigs dominated the paint and double teams limited Wade to jump shots for most of the night, effectively shutting down the Miami offense.

Nene played great, hitting shots from the outside and taking it to the hole time and time again (with some nifty passing by JR Smith) to end up with 15 points and 8 rebounds, providing the inside presence that the Nuggets desperately need.

Outside the Pepsi Center it was cold and snowy, with temps in the single digits and a few inches covering the ground. I love it when it feels like winter for real, prime weather for Basketball.

Miami did play pretty good through the first quarter, even coming up with this monster block by Jermaine O’Neal on one of Nene’s powerful drives.

They had trouble on the offensive end though, with Melo’s defense and Birdman’s length causing trouble for the Heat all night long. Miami did have too many offensive rebounds though, something the Nuggets are still struggling with, ranked 19th in the league in rebound margin.

Melo was named November’s Western Conference Player of the Month because of plays like these.

As the Nuggets announcer likes to say, “REEEEEWIIINNNDDD!”

Mario Chalmers hit a couple shots early but could not match the hot shooting of JR Swish who scored all of his 16 points in the first half, and opened the game up in the second quarter.

By halftime the Nuggets were up by 16 and like so many games at home for the Nuggets, it was pretty much already a wrap. The Tuaca Chill Zone is a great place to grab a drink, meet up with friends and celebrate.

It even has a nice view so you can still keep up with the action.

The second half was all Nugs, so we had to entertain ourselves in other ways. Rocky’s always good for that and came by for a visit.

Anya even gave him some love with some smooches.

Gotta love that crazy cat.

Although Bedz and Psycho were not loving Rocky after he sprayed them with Silly String. There’s DJ equipment over here Rocky!

Nuggets were draining shots in the third like this three from Aaron Afflalo, who was a perfect 3-3 from behind line.

Chauncey says, “Yeah I’ll take one too.”

Nené BOO YAA!

Kenyon kept it gangsta and got tossed for talking shit to the refs, other than that, the fourth quarter was pretty uneventful. Wade was one the bench along with the Nuggets’ stars and the C Team got some good playing time. Ty Lawson is really benefitting from being on such a good team where he’s allowed plenty of minutes to run the show towards the end of games when an opponent’s comeback is not possible. After the game, TNT’s Craig Sager talked with Chauncey about the Nuggets’ rise to “elite” staus. Hell, we went to the Conference Finals and save for a couple errant inbound passes, were right there with those pesky Lakers. I guess it takes a true Finals Victory before you get real credit with the national media.

After the game it was over to Beta Nightclub, where Thursday nights always bring in the big dance DJs like David Guetta and wild crowds ready to party.

See what I mean?

Pretty good company. Just another night in Denver. Good job Thuggets, hopefully we can keep it up on the road! See you next Saturday against the streaking Suns. Biz Markie will be in the building too… Nobody Beats The Biz!!!

Seattle has been a betting bonanza at Qwest Field after Thanksgiving, cashing at a 7-0-1 clip. Seattle will thrive off that last win in St. Louis and take it to the 49ers in a big win at home.

Free NCAA Football Sports Betting Pick for Saturday

West Virginia @ Rutgers

This one has classic game written all over it. This West Virginia team is off a huge win against Pittsburgh and now will hit the road for some letdown. Rutgers has covered four of the last six meetings, with the under cashing in three of the previous four. West Virginia enters on a bad ATS run, dropping four of its previous six games versus the number. The Scarlet Knights are 4-1 ATS in their last five with the ‘under’ winning out in four of their most recent six games. Look for more of the same this week as Rutgers gets the win over the mountaineers. The sure tell sign is Rutgers an unranked team favored over a ranked team. Drop the small number in this Big East tilit.

The Jets have been up and down all year so there is no way to tell what kind of Jets team you are going to get week in and week out. The Jets win a game against a lousy Carolina team and now they get the nod to be road favorites against Buffalo. This game is on national TV which is huge for the Bills because the crowd will be loud and proud of the Bills. Having the game in Canada only makes it all that much louder and special for this Bills team. The Jets will have their best corner on TO but in reality Fitzpatrick loves to throw it to Lee Evans. The Jets have come up short in six of their last seven as favorites of less than 9 points with revenge. On the other hand, the Bills are 5-0 versus a division foe with revenge off a SU win as underdogs. Buffalo has come away with the cash in nine of the last dozen series duels. Take the Bills plus the points.

Once upon a time, rap music was all about legitimacy, beginning with the poet activists of the ’60s and the inner-city residents rhyming about life on the streets of the Bronx in the ’70s and ’80s. Then something happened. Something horrible.

The mainstream media began using rap to push everything on consumers, from rapping Chicken Nuggets to video games. Even white-bread celebs like David Faustino and “Rappin’” Rodney Dangerfield tried their hands at the musical genre. Join us as we take you on a detailed, blow-by-blow journey through Where It All Went Wrong. As with so many things that went wrong, it all ends with Miley Cyrus.

Keep reading to travel through time to see the worst raps in history, covering movies, television, commercials and more.

Our journey begins in 1981. Until that point, rap music had safely been kept in the hands of urban toughs who knew how to keep it cool. White suburban rich kids had never even heard of the style. It would have stayed that way, too, if not for the one location where the dregs of urbania mingle with snotty rich kids: the punk clubs. Enter Blondie.

With her horrible flow in “Rapture,” Debbie Harry put rap on the radar of those who would eventually kill it. However, horrible rap music still hovered below the mainstream bubble. So society turned to its number one ambassador for bringing things from the ‘hood to the picket fence: Mr. T.

Mr. T makes it seem OK, even cool to rap like about how to “treat your mother right.” Soon, every celebrity with a big ego and a dearth of performing talent tried to cold shock the mic, ala Rappin’ Rodney:

Despite all this, shoddily constructed raps were still seen as an art form only good for appealing to children. Awful rap would not take the next step until it appeared on the one medium which interests children and low-functioning adults: football. It’s the 1985 Chicago Bears with the “Superbowl Shuffle!”

Now, all of middle America was exposed to music’s latest art-form-turned-marketing-gimmick. And what a played-out gimmick it became. Nerdy kids bought into it, as evidenced by this “Legend of Zelda” rap.

The Lakers did it, proving they’re the richer, slower guy’s equivalent of the Chicago Bears.

British people who worked on Wall Street bought into it:

This was right about the point where the fad reached its peak of ridiculousness, then began to collapse upon itself like a dying star. This phenomenon was documented in the following video. (The rap starts at 2:20, but the whole thing is hilariously horrible.)

After firing coach Lawrence Frank when the Nets reached 0-16, they tied the record for the worst start ever in NBA History last night with a 106-87 loss to the LA Lakers. Kobe Bryant led the way with 30 points. Hopefully the Nets get some type of inspiration to actually win a game. They are now 0-17.

Wow… good rainy morning everyone.

Surfacing from another awaken night to catch Lakers on the easiest roll ever (the Nets TRULY don’t resemble a pro team… I won’t waste words on the game cos it was so useless Kobe fouled 5 times just to allow himself two quarters bench time… I’m serious!), I am quietly waiting for tab works here at lab and while I’m on it, I update the blog.

There’s LOTS!!!

From various fields.

First of all, Karim’s will be back here on thursday and I cannot wait. I really am in need of… him. Past Friday at disco it was somehow strange to turn off offers from at least one VERY cute guy (out of 17 who attempted catchin my interest… I also got offerings from two women, which is always flattering to me, I have to admit…) not cos it requested me strenght (I’m such a good girl now, you know…) but just cause I would have really liked some sheet gym. I just hate when I am not allowed it. So Karim better be back and provide his serious (and totally awesomely rated) effort before I get sick about it.

Bitch? Not really. Those who don’t love sex the way I do are simply wrong. Or they just hadn’t any good one in their lives, which is sad.

On the weekend we have stayed quietly at houses, checkin up with the Creek, watchin sports, playing poker and just relaxing.

We need that and I do especially need that cos next weekend is gonna be crazy.

Karim gets back on Thursday: on Friday as soon as work ends (5 pm) we will ride furiously over Turin to get to see MUSE live!!!! At the moment I am just so totally in love (even more than I have always been with them) with their current single, “Undisclosed Desires“. Karim says it’s MY song to his soul. He loves it a lot and keeps whisperin that words and melody to me, which I so adore.

Take a look and open ears to goodness

Now to me that’s ART. Art in music.

Why do I say that?

Cos… Divine Adam yesterday was particularly verbose about these kind of related stuff. They’re back to Vevey (poor angel, it’s gonna be rainy and cold just like here.. just worse… but this time he brought even more crew to back him up preventing him from homesickness, I guess) and as it always happens when he has to chase boredom away, he gets particularly fond of twitter and starts to speak a lot. I LOVE that. His views on things are always challenging to me.

So yesterday he stated that to him music is not – necessarily – art. He went on defining better that he feels uncomfortable with musicians claiming their artistry too openly. And that people deify musicians too much.

While I can agree that lots of selfproclaimed artistry in music is pure garbage, I also disagree about the whole of it NOT being art. He actually surely gives musicians the artist status. Just that he’s VERY selective about that (Prince surely gets his props up). As always he is a peculiar combination of humble and fighting attitude that always surprises me. Just like when he was able to directly address Noah who quoted the famous line “all art is quite useless” to Dorian Gray’s preface. You know how I adore Oscar Wilde. And actually, that preface explains well what I feel about art. If Adam has that in mind guessing about arts and their value, we’re not really far away about concept of artistry.

Sure that we are not.

Slash

Out of the arty debate, another couple of twitters in the weekend made me remember a rumour a dear “metal lover” friend told me about way back in September. He was telling me he heard that Adam would have been featured on the new Slash’s solo album. I remember I was like “yeah, sure…” and just erased that info cos I thought he was kidding me (you know.. metal fans… pop rock music… they truly don’t show appreciation often about their mixing).

WRONG.

That’s happening for real, and I post this reference about the creation of the song cos that’s cute.

I mean… not that I am really shocked after Slash got in Fergie as well in his record and decided to land his guitar to Rihanna’s garbage album, but still, I will love to have another album fullfilled with guests (there’s Chris Cornell… it’s AWESOME!), and he’s undoubtedly a genius guitar player. Then anything Adam sings is like perfect with me so… roll on with the Amazon order (or I might even buy it physically, being in LA by March).

Actually a metal collaboration was lacking from Adam’s resume with musical genres so this is a great fill in. Can’t wait to hear that for sure.

But out of doubts, the record that I truly now wanna hear is M5 next one. I really can’t wait much longer. I’m gonna love 2010.

On the incoming crazy Friday, I forgot to add that after the Muse’s gig we will remain in Turin. We have room booked, and we won’t sleep for 2 reasons: one you guess it (and that’s CORRECT, 110%) while the other is that is again NBA Lakers watch against Miami. No way we will miss it. Yesterday Karim didn’t really see the game cos he was guesting diplomathic people at his parental house, but surely he won’t miss the Heat (or the Hornets, on Tuesday).

So… this is my schedule.

Love my life

Have all a great start of the week.

Lately, it has been all smiles for the Utah Jazz. After a slow start this season, Utah (9-7) is really starting to gel. They have won 5 of their last 6 games and are showing signs of becoming a dominant presence in the Western Conference this year. Confidence is peaking and spirits are high! The Jazz are playing extremely well despite missing Kyle Korver, CJ Miles, Ronnie Price, and Matt Harpring to injuries. Boozer, who had another big game with 26 points, 12 rebounds,7 assists, 1 block and 1 steal, warned everyone after the game, “…when we get our full team back, watch out!”

The last two games, the Jazz have shot just over 60% from the floor. Jazz announcer Ron Boone mentioned, ”It’s all because of great execution, making that extra pass, and finding the open teammates.” It’s exactly what the Jazz are doing out there. They are sharing the ball, finding the open man, and getting good high-percentage shots.

Assists have been key for the Jazz. Tonight’s blowout of the Blazers came with a season high 36 assists. Their previous season high (32) was during the annihilation of the Sixers back on November 13th. The Jazz dominated in both of these games. In fact, the Jazz have not lost this season when they have dished out 26 assists or more in a game. During their nine wins this season, Utah has averaged just under 28 assists per game. On the contrary, when the Jazz lose, they average just under 22 assists.

After the game, Deron Williams said, “Hopefully, we can just realize that this is what we have to do to win, and keep doing it.”

When the Jazz play like they did last night against Portland, they can certainly contend with the top teams in the league. They will definitely have the chance to prove themselves as 5 of their next 12 games are against some of the NBA’s top teams: the Lakers, the Magic, and the Hawks.

How will the Jazz fair during the next 12 games? What is your prediction?
