C’est aujourd’hui l’anniversaire de la plus grande actrice de tous les temps, et accessoirement la mascotte favorite de C’est la Gêne, j’ai nommé Oscar Winner Marion Cotillard.

Alors un très joyeux anniversaire à toi, Marion!

A l’occasion de tes 34 ans, je vais te faire quelques confessions. Pour commencer, je te trouve TRÈS jolie. Ensuite, comme certains s’en doutent déjà, je ne suis pas un grand fan de Taxi, mais je dois bien admettre que tu es probablement ce qu’il y a de moins mauvais dans ces films, et, que veux-tu, il faut bien débuter. Et crois-le ou pas, mais quand j’ai vu Jeux d’enfants, je me suis dit, cette fille-là a quelque chose, et elle ira loin. J’ai aussi trouvé que tu ne t’en tirais pas trop mal dans Big Fish, dans l’ombre de très grands acteurs. Et surtout, j’étais très entiché de ta Tina Lombardi dans Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles, et je maintiens que ta performance est ce qu’il y a de plus réussi dans ce film bancal (certes, tu avais aussi le personnage le plus intéressant, mais ça reste un joli exploit, considérant que tu y partageais l’écran avec tout le gratin du cinéma français, plus Jodie Foster), et que ton César du second rôle était tout à fait mérité. Et lorsque j’ai découvert les premières photos, puis la bande-annonce de La Môme, j’avais TRÈS envie d’aimer.

Mais voilà, j’ai vu La Môme. Et tout s’est cassé la figure.

Il y a ceux qui sont ont aimé le film. Avec ceux-là je ne peux pas discuter. Et puis il y a ceux qui sont d’accord avec moi pour dire qu’il s’agit d’un atrocité, que dis-je, d’un crime contre l’humanité, mais qui arguent qu’elle est quand même incroyable Cotillard dedans, et puis elle fait vachement bien Piaf. A ceux-là je réponds, tout simplement: NON. La nullité du film et sa structure inepte n’ont certes rien fait pour t’aider, ma pauvre Marion, mais non, toujours pas.

Déjà, si j’en crois ton interprétation, Piaf n’était pas être humain. Parce qu’entre tes mimiques de Piaf jeune et tes grimaces de Piaf vieille, j’ai eu l’impression de voir Gollum interprété par De Funès. Autrement dit, un truc effrayant d’origine extra-terrestre. Je veux bien que Piaf fut une clocharde gouailleuse et avinée, mais pour faire vibrer les foules partout dans le monde quand on est un petit laideron informe, elle devait sans doute dégager autre chose que de la vulgarité crasse et convulsionnante, tu ne crois pas? Et cet autre chose, je ne le vois pas. Il eut fallu au moins que tu chantes pour que, sous cette avalanche de singeries, cette aura ait une chance de percer, mais manque de bol, on t’a collé un play-back, qui, forcément, annihile toute émotion. Et cette accumulation de gesticulations, ce visage contorsionné dans tous les sens, Marion, ne m’ont pas convaincu une seconde. Pire, ils m’ont épuisé.

D’autant que rien de tout cela ne colle. Tu presses chaque scène individuellent pour en extraire le maximum de pathos, mais tu n’as aucune approche globale du personnage. Cette jeune fille, cette femme, cette vieillarde, ne sont jamais la même personne, parce que tu les incarnes au coup par coup, sans prendre le temps de dessiner les contours du personnage, ce qui lui ôte toute cohérence. Pour comprendre de quoi je parle, si tu as un peu de temps dans ton emploi du temps que j’imagine très chargé, regarde par exemple Malcolm X. Le protagoniste est successivement un voyou, un activiste engagé, un grand orateur, puis un quasi-prophète. Et bien toutes ces incarnations, dans l’immense performance de Denzel Wahington, sont savamment et subtilement liées. Red, la petite frappe, a déjà le charisme du futur Malcolm X. Et les vestiges de Malcolm Little sont encore visibles chez le repenti et converti El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz. (Pas besoin de te dire que Denzel n’a pas eu l’Oscar, lui.)

Et pour finir, non, Piaf ne ressemblait pas à ça. A vrai dire, même 1 an avant sa mort, Piaf s’exprimait encore comme un être humanoïde, pas comme une sorcière en décomposition avancée. Donc arrête s’il te plaît. Tu es une petite faiseuse, qui joue avec trois ficelles. Tu peux arnaquer tout le monde, mais pas moi. J’ai l’oeil.

Nul besoin de t’expliquer qu’être la seule personne à détester quelque chose que le reste de l’humanité considère comme du génie pur est extrêmement fatiguant, et ne fait que décupler l’impression initiale. Je te hais de m’avoir mis dans cette position très irritante. Et, cerise sur le gâteau, ce speech insoutenable, alors que tu tenais en main l’Oscar de Julie Christie.

“What you did to me, MaestRRRo Olivier Dahan, you rocked my life! (…) Thank you LIFE, thank you LOVE, it is true there is (sic) some angels in this city!”

Gniiii. Rien que d’y repenser, j’en ai des vapeurs. Faut que j’arrête de me torturer.

Ayant déjà dit tout le mal que je pensais de la nullissime campagne Dior dont tu es la star, et de ta contribution désastreuse à Public Enemies, je ne m’étendrai pas davantage.

Il ne me reste plus qu’a te souhaiter à nouveau un très joyeux anniversaire, en espérant que tu ne foutes pas en l’air le film que j’attends le plus cette année.

ive posted about la vie en rose before, but i just got back from watching it at amelies for the forth time, and i just dont get bored of this film. it is beautifuly shot, and has just the perfect amount of pure pain/ heart break and over whelming sense of despair for you to want to keep watching. edith piaf had the most wonderfully horrendous life to make her the most unbelivable charecter that she became. strong, confident, and totally floored.  marion colltriard did one of the best performances i had seen on film, and completly did edith piaf justice. Not much about this film is happy, but the parts that are will be the parts that take your breath away and make you understand how edith piaf became the legend that she is. if you havnt watched this film you are an idiot,

Parce que c’est un grand thriller qui nous fait nous cramponner à notre siège, mais qu’on sent bien aussi que ça raconte des CHOSES, même si on a pas du tout compris quoi. Du coup, pas de scrupules à voter pour. Parce que Anton Chigurh, friendo.

Pourquoi: Parce que ça évoque Kubrick, Terrence Malick, et Orson Welles période Citizen Kane. Et que ça soutient sans problème la comparaison. ET CRAC!

Pourquoi il a gagné: Parce que l’Académie fait parfois les choses bien, et n’attend pas que les génies soient séniles pour les récompenser.

Mon choix:

Pontoise, avril 2006, quartier de la Harengerie. Montage d’un décor pour le film “La Môme” d’Olivier Dahan. Le faux se mêle au vrai et vice versa, cette place naturellement pavée sert très souvent aux tournages. Les décors s’y succèdent et se superposent, il n’est pas rare qu’une équipe de décorateurs prenne appui sur les restes d’un ancien montage. Depuis “Le pacte des loups” en passant par “Un long dimanche de fiançailles” et un nombre incalculable de téléfilms, c’est presque devenu un jeu pour les pontoisiens de reconnaître cet endroit au cinéma ou à la télévision.

A personagem é estranha, mas o filme muito bem feito, conseguiu mostrar todo o drama vivido por uma pessoa que morre cedo, depois de ter passado por uma série de problemas.

It’s amazing how a past that’s not even my own, but rather a memory of how profoundly I felt another culture’s past when I lived in Paris from 2001 to 2007, pulled at me again early Friday evening as I dashed down the winding, chestnut-tree shaded rue Caulaincourt in Montmartre, stopping only to pay tribute to that well-known cat designer and lover Theodore Steinlin as I passed his house and jet my eye at the atelier where Toulouse-Lautrec once drew Suzanne Valadon. This was after, further up the Butte, I’d paid my respects to Erik Satie outside the one-story apartment building where he’d lived from 1890 to 1898, to Valadon at the now-shuttered restaurant where a plaque reminds us that she and Utrillo dined there for some 20 years, and before I madly scurried across the bridge over the Montmartre cemetery like Truffaut’s Antoine Doinel and his pal had done in “The 400 Blows” with a typewriter they’d stolen from Antoine’s father’s office, setting Antoine off on a path of flight that would last 20 years, countless women, and four more Truffaut films.

I wasn’t the only one in Montmartre Friday night channeling ghosts. On the rue Rustique, down the street from the ancient chez Valadon-Utrillo outside the back entrance of a resto, a hyper-spirited pony-tailed young woman with an infectious smile that bared all her teeth was bouncing along in jeans and sky-blue blouse, accompanied Django-style by a guitar and bass player as she sang and snapped a jump version of Gainsbourg’s “Javanaise” and then a jazzy version of “La Vie en Rose” that totally changed its mood from melancholic to celebratory.

Saturday it was more Piaf — have I mentioned that I’m living up the street from where La Mome was born? — as my pal Luc suggested we RDV at noon at the Cafe Edith Piaf, so named because it faces the plaza at the exit of the Metro station Porte Bagnolet dominated by her statue. (On the front of which some connard has poured red paint.) The Resto is decorated with photos of Piaf and her performance posters of the epoch. She’s even playing on the juke. If this sounds like a set-up designed for tourists, it’s not; it’s a local cafe that’s somehow both a tribute to and an authentic living embodiment of an earlier era.

My adventure, though, started earlier, as I rushed (I rush a lot — I may be the fastest man in Paris; I moved here to stop rushing but it hasn’t worked) through the Saturday market stalls. Apparently it’s fete your market week-end in Paris, as I was reminded when I came upon a stand where a man with a mike and a smiley woman seemed to be giving away goody-stuffed sleek blue and white canvas bags inscribed in multi-color with “Les marchés de Paris.” I hovered, but they just kinda looked at me as if to say, “Et alors?” Then they stopped another guy and asked him a question about General de Gaulle; apparently you had to pass a quiz to get a goody sack. I cursed my luck, as Le General is one of my specialties. (I like to regal my Les Eyzies potes Bernard and Stephan with my recording of his greatest speeches when they stop by at night to regard the pre-historic cliffs, drink Panaché ((no, all French ‘paysans’ don’t sit around drinking marc)) and try to get me to adopt a mutton or convince me that the moon has disappeared.) But I persisted in hovering, and I guess they realized they’d have to give me the chance to win a bag to get rid of me. The guy stuck his mike in my face and pointed at my beret. At first I didn’t understand (my French is not that bad, really, but my level drops dramatically in high-pressure situations), but then I caught “Hergé,” and when he again indicated my hat, I realized he was referring to my Captain Haddock (tr.: Craddock) pin. He asked me if I was a Tintin fan, I nodded, and then, with an “Oh yeah?” look in his eye, he popped the question:

“How many volumes of Tintin did Hergé write?”

Merde. “Uh… 12?”

(I realized later that our little interview was being broadcast throughout the ten-block market.)

“That’s right!” he said, giving me a break and handing me a sack. Then he asked where I was from — is it *still* that evident that I’m not from around here? — and instead of f*cking with him as I’ve been doing with a lot of Parisians by answering, “Sud-ouest. Dordogne!” I answered “America.” “Yay Obama!” he said. This gave me confidence, so before I walked off with my loot I said, “Thank you for myself, and also on behalf of Captain Craddock,” which must have been understandable, because the smiley woman laughed.

In the bag was a wide-brimmed straw hat, baseball hat, and tee-shirt, all plugging the marchés, plus a big ‘ol bag of potatoes, tomatoes, onions and garlic. I contributed two of the onions to the veggie feast Luc had prepared for his daughter and me, after we’d picked up two heaping boxes of old books a local bookstore owner, Jose, had given to Luc for his ‘boite’ on the Seine. — he’s a bouquiniste or bookseller along the Seine. Luc stacked them under a big empty box inside his doorway, but as soon as he’d disappeared into the kitchen I delved in, finding treasures like a complete set of the Dos Passos “U.S.A.” saga and a clothbound 1950s circa collection of Tennessee Williams, both in translation of course.

While we were eating, Jose, who’d turned down Luc’s invitation to join us, was digging out his Boris Vian books for me, “Elles ne rendent pas compte” (rough tr.: “These women don’t realize what they’re doing”) and “Les Fourmis,” (“The Ants”), a collection of novellas. Vian books besides “‘J’irai cracher sur vos tombes” (“I’ll spit on your graves”) are hard to find, so I’m sure Jose’s 5 Euro apiece price was just, but a)I’m on a budget which I’ve already exceeded and b)the plain white covers and that these were recent additions didn’t do much for me. “I like the old pocket-book covers!” I explained to Luc. “It’s the title that matters, not the design!” At today’s vide grenier (neighborhood-wide garage sale; vide = empty, grenier = attic) on the rue Marie and Louise near the canal, I scored both these books and a third, “Trouble dans les Andains” (completed in 1942-1943 but issued posthumously in 1966, thus both the first novel Vian wrote and the last published). The cover for “Les Fourmis” features Boris in kaleidescope, wearing a black shirt and four different expressions; ‘Andains’ has him pressing a fist to his chest and regarding the reader with wry menace; and the last has a full-color Vargas Girl kicking up her heels from a reclining position as she starts to remove her stockings. Total price: 3 Euros. Earlier, at a vide grenier nearer to my apartment, I’d picked up sealed DVDs of Woody Allen’s “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan” for 2.60 total. Bi-continental schizophrenic stuck in other people’s pasts: C’est moi.

Ultimamente ando me interessando pela França e seus derivados [nem sei por quê...]. Fato é que dentre minhas incansáveis pesquisas sobre o assunto acabei me apresentando à Edith Piaf. Entre uma descoberta e outra eis que surge o nome de Marion Cotillard na história [ela ganhou o Oscar de melhor atriz ano passado] e, junto com ela, o filme ‘La Môme’ ou ‘Edith Piaf – Um hino ao amor’.

Ele é uma forma de musical. Retrata a ‘super’ história de vida dessa cantora francesa extremamente conhecida no mundo, que antes de todo o sucesso conquistado passa por abandono, cegueira, adversidades familiares. Superados os problemas, Edith é descoberta por Louis Leplée, que a batiza de piaf (que significa pardal em francês). Juntamente com a fama, a cantora descobriu o amor, a falta de privacidade, a morfina e a bebida: mistura explosiva que acaba com seu reinado aos 47 anos.

Enquanto você desfruta da belíssima atuação da vencedora do Oscar de 2008, Marion Cotillard, fica conhecendo, ou relembra, os grandes sucessos dessa impecável cantora francesa, que transmitia através de sua voz inconfundível o retrato da França da época. Marion Cotillard werd geboren in Parijs op 30 september 1975. Ze groeide op in Orléans, een stad in Midden-Frankrijk. Haar hele familie heeft duidelijk artistiek bloed. Haar vader, Jean-Claude Cotillard, is acteur, leraar en mimespeler. In 2006 werd hij voor zijn werk als theaterregisseur bekroond met een Molière Award. De moeder van Marion, Niseema Theillaud, was actrice, dramalerares en comédienne. Marion heeft twee broers. Quentin is beeldhouwer en schilder, zijn tweelingbroer Guillaume is schrijver.

Carrière

Marion begon als kind al met acteren, tijdens theaterstukken van haar vader. Haar carrière begon in de jaren ‘90 met een rol in de series Highlander en Extrême Limite. In 1994 won ze de eerste prijs van het Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique d’Orléans. Datzelfde jaar krijgt ze haar eerste rol in een langspeelfilm, Histoire d’un garçon qui voulait qu’on l’embrasse van Philippe Harel.

In 1998 verwierf Marion internationale bekendheid als Lili Bertineau in de Franse actiefilm Taxi. Ze is ook te zien in de tweede en derde film, maar niet in Taxi 4. In Les Jolies Choses (2001) had Marion een dubbelrol, een prestatie die door critici lovend werd onthaald. Ook haar acteerwerk in Big Fish (2003) kon op goede kritiek rekenen. Een jaar later werd ze dan eindelijk beloond. Voor haar rol als moordenares Tina Lombardi in Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles ontvangt Marion een César voor Beste Vrouwelijk Bijrol. La Môme, les hommages

Voor haar vertolking van Edith Piaf in haar laatste film La Môme (2007) werd Marion meermaals bekroond. Regisseur Olivier Dahan zag enige overeenkomst in haar ogen met die van Edith. In Amerika en Canada verscheen La Môme onder de naam La Vie en Rose. In februari 2008 kreeg Marion als eerste Franse actrice een award van the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Ze is de eerste actrice die een Golden Globe wint voor anderstalige film sinds Liv Ullmann in 1972. Daarnaast werd ze voor haar rol als Edith Piaf bekroond door de Academy Awards, de Boston Society of Film Critics, de César Awards, een Tsjechische Leeuw, Kansas City Film Critics en Los Angeles Film Critics Awards.

Het koppel wordt in de Franse pers omschreven als de Europese ‘Brangelina’, hoewel de twee er een simpele levensstijl aan overhouden. Verder zet Marion zich in voor milieuactivisme. Tout était préparé. Tout juste un an après sont triomphe hollywoodien pour La Môme, Marion Cotilard revient, plus green-friendly que jamais, dans le premier numéro de Elle tiré sur papier recyclé.

Riche en scoop, on y apprend que Marion adore les choux et les oeufs, déteste les pollueurs et rend grâce aux arbres de nous garder en vie. Décidemment, la belle égérie de Dior peine à trouver sa voie. Après un écart remarqué sur le complot du 11 septembre – qui faillit lui valoir sa statuette plaquée or – la jolie brunette se fait l’ambassadrice de Dame Nature. La démagogie confirme son statut de dernière tendance à suivre.

PS : au fait, bravo pour l’impression écologique de Elle

J’étais à Paris dimanche dernier et suis revenu avec tout un tas de petits détails à vous décrire!

- Place de la concorde, un énorme édifice ovale se dresse devant les milliers d’automobilistes quotidiens: une grande roue!! Et quelle horreur!!! Les cabines ressemblent à deux flocons de neige (pour ne pas dire “à deux gouttes d’eau”) à celles utilisées à la montagne. C’est un coup à arriver à la caisse avec ses chaussures de ski aux pieds et les snowblades à la main. Payer un tour de grande-roue et ne pas avoir l’opportunité de se les cailler tout en haut, où est l’intérêt?

- J’aime toujours autant entrer dans le Sacré-cœur tant pour l’ambiance, l’atmosphère ou l’architecture de l’endroit. Et puis, je peux vous le dire, j’adore l’encens de benjoin de Summatra qui est utilisé en ce lieu. Je trouve son odeur apaisante et saine, tout en étant un véritable purificateur de pensée. Toutes les idées noires disparaissent soudain.

-Mais une grande raison animait mon déplacement: un collègue de promotion jouait à l’Olympia!! En effet, Julien Goeman et 9 de ses amis accompagnaient Jil Aigrot à l’Olympia. Cette chanteuse doublait Marion Cotillard pour l’interprétation des chansons dans le film ‘La Môme‘. Elle prend ici le devant de la scène pour reprendre à sa manière les grands airs d’Edith Piaf. Tout simplement génial. ça m’a donné envie d’écouter des chansons de Piaf mais aussi des réenregistrements de Jil Aigrot.

Excepţional rolul de compoziţie pe care l-a făcut Marion Cotillard, rol pentru care a şi obţinut mai multe premii printre care şi un Oscar, anul acesta. O tânară, extrem de talentată şi frumoasă actriţă de 33 de ani interpretează o femeie îmbatrânită prematur şi bolnavă de 46. Pentru această transformare, Marion a trebuit să se radă în cap, să-şi radă sprâncenele şi să se supună şedinţelor de make-up ce durau 4-5 ore.

Mai multe cu/despre această fascinantă actriţă aici şi aici

Voilà, cela fait maintenant un petit moment que j’ai vu le film, c’était dans le cadre d’une de nos séances Ciné Club, et pour l’occasion, Mag et moi n’étions pas seule, M. était de passage. À part qu’elle, elle avait vu le film déjà trois fois. Donc, un petit billet rapide, histoire de donner mon avis.

La môme a hérité du titre outre-Atlantique de La vie en rose, la seule chanson de Piaf que les Ricains doivent connaître. Je ne suis pas une fan, d’ailleurs, elle fait aisément partie de ses artistes français que je trouve assez surestimés. Je ne savais donc rien d’elle, alors le film a été plutôt instructif sur ce plan là. Je reste toujours admirative devant un fait : comment des personnes exécrables arrivent à avoir des amis aussi fidèles ? Elle fut assez insupportable pendant une bonne partie de sa vie, et le visionnage fut parsemé de blagues sur l’alcool.

Je ne peux pas dire honnêtement si Marion Cotillard méritait un oscar, je ne me rappelle plus la concurrence, mais le casting est vraiment bon, et comme il m’arrive de le faire remarqué quand c’est le cas, Gerard Depardieu, pour le peu de scènes qu’il fait, est totalement génial. La sobriété (dans le jeu, j’entends par là, je ne sais pas ce qu’il en est du reste) lui réussit vraiment, je ne sais pas pourquoi on le pousse trop souvent dans l’autre direction. Bref, le casting était bon, le visuel aussi, les allers et venues dans le temps typiquement biopic, et pas toujours des plus constructifs. Dans l’ensemble, c’était vraiment bien. Ca vaut le coup d’œil, si on aime ce genre de films. Je suis assez réceptive aux histoires vraies et autres, mais les seules qui ont l’honneur d’atterrir dans ma DVDthèque sont celles qui me parlent le plus, et je pense qu’avec ce genre-là, c’est un peu le cas de tout le monde. Je n’achèterais donc pas le DVD, mais peut être que toi si (si tu ne l’as pas déjà).

Verdict :

Nu fac parte din generatia care sa fi trait, suferit si iubit cu Edith Piaf, dar nici nu imi sunt necunoscute cantecele ei. Langa mine, insa, mama recunoastea personaje si evenimente si ii fredona melodiile.

Frantuzoaica asta urata si cu voce in stare sa miste si o statuie a fost o fiinta incompleta afectiv care a pierdut si putinul de care a avut parte, care se dedat la excese si careia numai muzica i-a oferit cand si cand izbavirea. Departe de mine gandul de a arunca piatra.

La Vie en Rose seamana izbitor cu Ray, adica se sprijina pe interpretul principal si pe muzica. E uimitor pentru mine cum gagicuta Marion Cotillard, pe care o remarcasem in Taxi doar pentru ca e frumusica, a fost in stare sa se metamorfozeze, sa absoarba suferinta, instabilitate, sensibilitate pentru ca apoi sa le improaste si sa inunde cu ele ecranul. De mult sustin ca m-am saturat ca Oscarurile sa fie luate de actori care joaca personaje reale, pentru ca, teoretic au o munca mai usoara, dar in cazul ei nu pot decat sa ma bucur.

Cat despre muzica… ei bine, ce sa zic? Daca n-aveti chef sa vedeti filmul sau vi se pare prea trist, macar ascultati-l. Nu veti regreta!

La Mome (aka. La Vie En Rose) un film excepţional, m-a lăsat fără cuvinte, Marion Cotillard a jucat un rol fenomenal. Îl recomand celor care nu au văzut acest film deosebit…Non ! Rien de rien…

Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker (Street Kings) will direct his fourth big-screen movie, a Louis Armstrong biopic titled What A Wonderful World, in which he’ll play the lead role, making this the first time he’ll act in one of his directing efforts.

Louis Armstrong was of course an incredibly famous jazz trumpetist and singer, active throughout most of the 20th century and probably best-known for the song which gave the movie its title. The film will start shooting next summer and Louisiana, and you can bet they’ll release it in 2011 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Armstrong’s birth.

The strange thing here is that while Whitaker is well-respected as an actor, he isn’t considered to be good director at all, with his last effort being the widely reviled First Daughter. Another strange thing is that the film is being produced by a Frenchman, Alain Goldman, to his credit no stranger to musical biopics after last year’s hit La Vie En Rose.

Back when it was announced that Stephen Sommers (Van Helsing) would direct a new Tarzan movie, I expressed my faith in the project but it now seems it will be competing against what will probably be a much better film as one of my favorite directors, Christophe Gans (Silent Hill), has signed on to direct Lord Of The Apes, putting his adaptation of the video game Onimusha and his planned Charles XII Of Sweden biopic Le Cavalier Suèdois (literally The Swedish Rider) on the backburner. Filming will start in February.

Lord Of The Apes will be a retelling of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ source novel Tarzan Of The Apes, but told from the point of view of Jane Porter, Tarzan’s infamous love interest, the girl who discovers the ape man in the African jungle and brings him back to the civilised world. According to producer Thomas Langmann (the live-action Asterix films), actresses Natalie Portman (The Other Boleyn Girl) and Marion Cotillard (La Vie En Rose) are in consideration to play Jane (Nat please!). As for Tarzan, who knows, but rumors point to Gans regular Mark Dacascos (Code Name: The Cleaner).

Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger has joined the cast of My Own Love Song, the English-language debut for writer/director Olivier Dahan (La Vie En Rose). Zellweger steps in for Sharon Stone (the Basic Instinct films), who recently left the project.

Described as a “road movie”, My Own Love Song will be a love story between a former singer in wheelchair and an injured fireman. The film will start shooting next month and co-stars Forest Whitaker (Street Kings) and Madeline Zima (Showtime’s Californication).

Renée Zellweger will next be seen in the western Appaloosa, rolling out on September 19th in the US and the UK.

In case you didn’t know, several projects are currently being developed to capitalize on commemorate the Chanel brand’s 100 years of existence. The most legitimate one would be Coco Before Chanel, which will start shooting in France on September 15th. Why the most legitimate? Well, it’s a French movie (original title Coco Avant Chanel) and Coco Chanel was French. The 22 million dollar movie, which Warner Bros will distribute in the States, will be directed by Anne Fontaine (Nathalie…) and star the cute but ever-so-annoying Audrey Tautou (The Da Vinci Code) as the legendary fashion designer and Alessandro Nivola (The Eye) as her lover Boy Capel. Of course, everyone is unnecessarily wondering how the film will compare to last year’s big French biopic La Vie En Rose (original title La Môme) which chronicled the life of singer Edith Piaf.

Şi când iertãrile, baleiajul sau indiferenţa nu mai sunt praful în care te-ai învârtit. Ai scãpat de aţele conştiinţei de pãpuşar şi ai mai fãcut un pas, rupt din tot înãuntrul tãu supurând.

Ca de obicei când vãd un film, îl iau personal. Şi nu a existat niciodatã un moment mai bun ca sã vãd „La Môme”. Dacã am plâns la final, a fost de nou.
