Have you ever placed graphics in a word document, and formatted it so that the graphic appears behind the text, and then you can’t figure out how to select it? Well, you can select the clip art. Here’s how. Select the Home tab at the top left. Then select “Select” all the way on the right. It’s right under Find and Replace. Then select “Objects”. Once you do that, you’ll see you can click on and manipulate the graphics. I just used this to select a graphic in one of our Avery 5160 Equivalent Laser labels, at http://www.macolabels.com/ml-3000.html .

Jets by Jessika Allen rarely fail to impress in a big way.  Her suits from 08/09 were magical and it was always going to be difficult for this season’s designs to compete with such a high standard.  Having previewed the 2010 collection, I can say that, while there are not the standout designs of the previous two collections, the overall high standard has nonetheless been maintained.  High-end swimwear fashion means Jets, and once again this season that will be so.  I think we can now safely put Jets in the legends category – Jessika’s product has been superior now for long enough!  Reviews of individual suits will follow shortly.

Just last friday, Kevin Movido released his “You and Me” EP. Read more about that here. Now, here he is for you to know more about him.

Deeper Manila: How old are you?
Kevin Movido: 18

DM: How did we meet?
KM: well I met Justin in 2nd year Filipino summer class. Haha. He was the quiet guy with big headphones and his head always resting on the table while tapping his foot or finger.

DM: What got you into Deeper Manila?
KM: Since I’ve known Justin for a couple of years now, we go way back with the recording and music making. So, after around 2 years of no communication, we chatted and he invited me to join in.

DM: What do you think distinguishes you amongst the rest?
KM: Honestly, I haven’t met everyone in the group yet, though i hope to soon. But what I can probably say right now is that I may not know as much or I might not be the most experienced in the group, but I look at what we do as a way to meet new people, try new things and be better at what I know I can do. that goes for in and outside the group. But maybe as everyone else may see it, this doesn’t seem like work or anything, it’s too enjoyable to be.

DM: Have you always wanted to be a professional singer? Or did it just come along naturally?
KM: it was a childhood dream of mine actually. I grew up in the 90’s so I liked the idea of a group that danced or sang as one. Haha. I wasn’t expecting that Justin would start something like this, or at least this early. But hey, why not?

DM: Which style or genre of music do you feel the most comfortable with at the moment?
KM: I’m really a hip-hop/R&B guy, so I like listening and singing under those genres. And since I met Justin, I’ve been doing soulful house as well.

DM: Where do you get your inspiration? Does it differ from each track/project?
KM: I don’t really have a major inspiration, but maybe the music itself. With what I’ve been working on for Deeper Manila, I get the instrumental, then the mood and tone of the music dictates what the song will be about. I just, fill in the blanks, for the music. So what I try to do is “translate” the music’s message into words. That’s how it’s been working for me.

DM: Describe your sound.
KM: I honestly have A LOT to work on in terms of my singing style. Gonna be looking into that soon. But as of now, I like it smooth when it comes to R&B and house. And working with Justin, he brought out the soulful side. When it comes to hip-hop, I like the cool effect. Anything that sounds good.

DM: Has music always been part of your life?
KM: No doubt that’s a yes – ever since I was a kid actually. I’d always be listening to music, even if it meant me standing up the whole time cuz my family’s radio used to be on top-shelf. Now, when I’m walking to school, or home, in the car, when I get up in the morning, before I sleep, my music’s always playing.

DM: Trends in music keep on changing constantly. How do you keep your sound pure?
KM: Well, nothing else interests me as much as hip-hop, R&B, house, the music we make. So I don’t really have a hard time sticking to what I know, cuz that’s what sounds good to me, that, is music to my ears.

DM: Favorite food?
KM: random question? Haha. Pizza, Japanese (especially sushi), and I’m generally a sweet tooth and a chip-nibbler.

DM: Thanks

At any given moment in time, there are a number of individuals who are searching the internet in hopes of finding a legitimate money making opportunity. The biggest advantage to private label resell rights is that you get to make money selling a product that you didn’t even create.  In some cases, you are even allowed, and maybe even required, to alter the work, but then you can claim it as your own. While there are advantages to obtaining the resell rights to a private label product, there are disadvantages as well. To make money, you must able to find a product that will sell. Those individuals usually end up losing money because they purchased a product that was poor in quality or one that couldn’t sell. Of course, this disadvantage doesn’t have to be one. All you need to do is research each product before agreeing to purchase it. This research should enable to make money, not lose it.

The above mentioned advantages and disadvantage, to buying private label resell rights, are just a few of the many. Despite the fact that there are additional advantages and disadvantages, most people find that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages; thus, making this a profitable business venture.

I recently had yet another chance to travel to Sydney and stay for a while whilst working. Sydney’s weather didn’t treat me too well but apart from that, it was a good time had by all, I shopped, partied, hung out with friends and family, explored new places, met some amazing new friends, and set some awesome things up that you’ll see in the future. Aside from all that I got two days of shoots in for the lovely Asia Power’s 2009/2010 summer capsule range of which you’ll see the finals for within the next few days…

Maaji is my current favourite label, and this bikini is a good example of why!  Dynamic, organic, lush, aesthetic – the list of superlatives could go on forever.  Having previewed the 2010 collection, I can tell you that Maaji have produced yet another season of pure inspired genius.  Running over a theme of botanics/herbals, this seasons prints and shapes are indeed something special!  I will start reviewing individual pieces very soon!  Exciting!  Maaji can be shopped at www.zakoda.com.

Acid Jazz Records will celebrate their 21st anniversary in some style at a venue just a hundred yards from the east London label’s legendary and late lamented Blue Note club in Hoxton Square.

The label, founded by Eddie Piller and Gilles Peterson back in 1988, became a buzz word in itself and provided a welcome antidote to the bleeps of acid house that swept all asunder in late ’80s clubland. Artists like Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai, Galliano, Terry Callier, Paul Weller, JTQ, Corduroy, A Man Called Adam and a whole host of others found a natural home at the indie label that pushed back the musical boundaries

The birthday party, hosted by Eddie Piller features dj sets from some of the best dj’s associated with the label’s long and varied history, including Chris Bangs, Ali B, Snowboy, Dean Rudland and Andy Lewis playing a mix of Jazz, Soul, Beats, Funk and Northern + a hip shaking live set of soul, jazz and funk from The Filthy Six.

Expect a spectacular one-off!
