We all encounter mails everyday, some official mails and some personal. But in one or other way we all are using mails. Earlier people used to type or write the address of the sender on the envelope. but nowadays people mostly go for mailing labels. The mailing labels have come as a great way to saving time, as you don’t need to type or write your address on envelopes.

With advancement in technology it has become really easy to design mailing label. You just need to search for label design software on the web. There are many resources available like online templates and software’s. If you go for free template, you will add your information in the template and get it printed. The only drawback of online template is the limited customization. Whereas if you go for some label designing software which may give you more of customization. The benefits of using customized mailing labels are:

1) You can use customized text. You are not restricted to fixed fields as in printed labels available in market.
2)Using customized mailing label can be a great help in enhancing your impression.
3) There are many different ways of using mailing labels. You can use them on wedding invitations, party invitations, gift wrappers and many other ways. You just need to be innovative enough and make diverse uses.

Download free trial label software here: label maker software

Interestingly, one of the most exciting, bold and versatile trends to emerge for SS10 finds it’s heart in the Dark Ages… enter, the Future Knights. However, the spirit is more that of mythical female warriors whilst the philosophy is thoroughly modern, with designers marrying off different cultural aesthetics and even smashing the space-time continuum by venturing back beyond Medieval times and forth into the future for inspiration. Future Knights picks up where the military trend has left off, stylistically amalgamating with the Tribal trend which will still be going strong come Summer.

Urban Future Knights go back to the future with modern cosmic twists

I’m pleased to say that this is a trend that is going to translate well for the more humble subjects, (i.e., definitely me and perhaps you) AND will work well with spandex… YES. Keep it bold with armour-like jewellery, chainmail/eyelet (as opposed to rock-chick metal-stud) detailing and don’t be afraid to add a hint of the mythical/fairytale with feathers and opulent, tactile textures. Think of the overall spirit as opposed to being concerned with historical accuracy (uhm, fancy-dress-alert!) and think feminine with a tough twist; body-con Amazonian cuts, intricate use of leather, bold metallic statements contrasted with super-soft fabrics. There is still romance in the soul but in the manner of Boudica rather than Maid Marian.

The internet has been a growing and integral part of society over the past ten years and while many

The internet has been a growing and integral part of society over the past ten years and while many industries have embraced the technology, a large section of the music industry sees the internet as a destructive force. While I somewhat agree that file-sharing is partly detrimental to the music industry, I do not think that the artists involved are losing out because of the illegal sharing of music files.

There is no doubt that the sales of records and CD’s have dropped dramatically over the past three years, but there is another angle to look at. Record companies take most of the money made from the records and only a small portion of the sales actually go to the artists, therefore we have to look at the other aspects of the music industry. Gigs allow some artists to make money and this is further enhanced by merchandise sold at these gigs. Live revenue on the part of the artists has grown over the past 5 years and this shows that in some ways the music industry is thriving in this new age of the internet.

There is a simple explanation for the figures and file-sharing is a big influence on these figures. The sharing of music files allows people to find a lot more bands as there is no restrictions such as price and accessibility, the ease of distribution over the internet (in terms of artists) has become exceptionally easy, with sites such as Last.fm, MySpace and the many music blogs. While people may decide not to buy these new bands’ albums they may go to one of their shows and this is because there is no substitute for live music. It allows for a much more even playing ground for bands and allows bands that aren’t backed by big record labels to be a presence in the music scene.

On the other hand, record labels are an vital part of the music industry and bands like The Dandy Warhols would never have made a name for themselves without the backing of Capitol, there is obviously no way to know whether they would have made a name for themselves, but record companies have the ability to push for their artists to be played on radio and other mediums.

The big question is, “Can the music industry survive without the presence that record labels have at the moment?”, because at the rate at which revenues of these record labels are dropping, the music industry must face the fact that record labels will have a smaller presence and independent artists will be more prevalent in the coming years. It seems that the record labels are unable to find a strategy that will allow them to stay in the state that they were in before file-sharing became a part of life. They have tried the all-in-one record deal that allows them a share of the artists revenue from merchandise and gigs, but this is coming along slowly, another strategy is to stop file-sharing all together and the idea at this moment i to punish people who do it, this will send out a message to other people and it may prove to be a deterrent. But what the record labels are up against is beyond their control. In the UK alone, over 90% of people admit to downloading music illegally, this shows us that it is the way of life to most people in the UK, and possibly around the world and until record labels change the mindset of society, nothing can really be done.

So what does all this mean exactly?

In terms of the structure of the music industry itself there may have to be a restructuring of the way record label operate and make money, to be perfectly honest I don’t care what happens with record labels’ profit margins. What I do care about is the state of music in ten years time. I personally believe that independent artists will be a much larger force on the industry and there will be a larger focus on these bands. There may also be a resurgence in the quality of bands live shows, bands will have to be a presence on the live scene and this may bring about the end of bands that make music specifically designed to be played in the studio. It is unclear whether file-sharing has a positive or negative influence on the music industry, but what is certain is the fact that the way we see and hear music will change dramatically over the next ten years, whether it is for the better or not.

The launch of the brand new Dymo Labelwriter 450 Label Printer from Dymo has reportedly been brought forward.

Launched in the US earlier in the year, the Dymo Labelwriter 450 was not due here in the UK until Jan 2010.

But now Dymo has run out of the old Labelwriters faster than expected causing a bit of a headache for suppliers, so the Dymo LabelWriter 450 launch has been moved forward to late November.

Many resellers who dropship the products have reportedly been caught out by the sudden lack of stock as distributors ran out and were unable to order more in. However, some of the larger suppliers who hold their own stock still have some left.

Dee Puddy has a fabulous name. It’s a bit like P Diddy, but cooler. Dee runs a lovely online shop, selling some wonderful little treats…

I like her vintage section in particular (surprise, surprise) and recently bought one of her little 1950s tea tins. You’ll spot some of these soon in our January issue if you look closely… they were originally used for storing thousands of tea samples from North India, Malawi and Bangladesh. A small amount of each numbered batch was retained by the tea company for a year in case of any quality complaint from a buyer then, after the year had elapsed, the old samples would be tipped out and given or sold to staff. The tin I have still smells of tea! But I think I’ll be using it to store jewellery on my dressing table. I also bought a little ceramic ‘Buttons’ tag to tie to my jar of never-ever-used-or-needed-yet-lovely-to-look-at buttons:

And, since we’ve just officially launched Christmas on this blog, Dee does a lovely range of festive bits and bobs, too…

I was tempted by the French goose tape, because it goes so well with the goosey Thornback and Peel inspired (in other words, blatantly ripped-off) Christmas cards I am making. Should I tape each envelope shut? Shall I put a Hobbycraft feather in each card…? Hmmm. So many questions. What a very serious job I have. On a par with being an MP or a surgeon I’d say. Mwah ha ha haa. – Ellie

Unless you’ve been in some sort of tomb for the last year, you can’t have failed to have noticed that vampires are currently ‘in’. Because I’m wary of jumping on bandwagons in general I have to admit that I’ve always enjoyed the glamour of Vampires. So it’s been a pleasure that all things Vampire related, including fashion, have come out of the coffin and moved on from the crushed velvet/home-dyed hair territory of emo-goths and Live Action Role Play fans.

It’s really quite a specific ‘look’ to pull off so personally? I would recommend going with playful (because irony is so 2 years ago…) touches as opposed to literal interpretations. Tees with modern Vampire references – yes. Bodices with heaving bosoms – no. Not self-tanning – yes. Whitening faces – no. Pillar box lips – yes. Halloween contact lenses – no. You can see where this is going…

Get some blood-thirsty inspiration from Wildfox Couture. Wildfox, based in LA, is run by Emily and Kim who know exactly how to take a trend and translate it into something fun and wearable. Their AW09 collection takes inspiration from this whole Vampire craze as you can see from their lookbook photos below.

You can take a look through their full collection and buy directly from their website. Like all good tees and sweaters, they are made with lots of love, feature original designs, are cut with just the right amount of looseness, finished vintage-soft and perfectly worn-in.

The weekend isn’t quite over yet. I’m actually fresh from the shower and on my way to B

The weekend isn’t quite over yet. I’m actually fresh from the shower and on my way to Brooklyn Bowl to celebrate the 30th birthday of one of my friends. We met, by chance, on her bachelorette party in March. We’ve hung out sporadically since then. Ironically, we went to grade school and high school together back in Ohio. She’s a pretty chill girl, tons of energy-which kinda contradicts the first statement, I suppose. She’s queer and she’s married to a sweet lady.

Mirs won’t be joining us. I think she wanted a day alone. She didn’t say that, of course, but I think she’s relishing some personal time-which is an important part of our relationship-Establishing and Enjoying our alone time. She’s planning on taking a bike ride to Brighton Beach this afternoon before becoming a slave to her studies. I’d honestly ditch the bowling and join her but 1-my bike sucks and 2-we’re established that we’re enjoying our solo time.

Our date this weekend wasn’t really as private as I imagined, it was still pretty rockin’. We hung out with Mirs’ Aunt and her two lesbian friends who don’t identify as such even though they’ve been living together for over 30 years. While waiting for the E train at 53rd street yesterday we pondered them.

I met the twosome for the first time last year when Mirs’ Aunt came to the city to take all of us to museums. The ladies finished each other’s sentences, the put their heads close together to enjoy art and they bickered slightly and chided on another in that joking/loving way. They never at any time walked too close or embraced or even touched for that matter. Last year Mirs and I were only in the first few months of our relationship-that can’t keep my hands off of you gotta have you now stage. We were subdued in our physical touching but the electricity in our eyes and longing gazes told another story completely.

A year later and the five of us were together again to visit some museums. Mirs’ Aunt is an art expert, on the board of museums in Texas and can get us into any and every museum in NYC for free. Yesterday we visited the Museum El Barrio and the Guggenheim. This time, Mirs and I held hands more readily in the museums, walking down the street, under the table at lunch. Her aunt talked openly about gays and lesbians in the art world and the two had nothing to say, really, on either subject. Apparently Mirs’ Aunt, who’s been friends with one of the ladies since childhood, asked them point-blank, “Are you two a couple” They adamantly denied it and have done so ever since.

So is it just strange to me, a newly out loud and proud gay woman in my 30’s to assume that two women who, upon appearances, seem pretty gay are not and just happen to be platonic life partners. Or is it because they’re older and have probably had to live their lives in secret for decades that they’re too wrapped up in their past to embrace this newer, friendlier (at times) society that more or less accepts (or completely denies) homosexuality? I remember when states started to allow gay marriage seeing newspaper articles or news shows about elderly men and women who’d been together for decades dressed to the nines standing on court house stairs declaring, once and for all, their undying homosexual love for one another. Why not these women? Perhaps it’s truth that they are just friends, who vacation together, live together and have been for the past 30 years. Or maybe the closet is just cozy.

This is what happens to nice girls from Ohio who move to New York. You become cynical, snarky, and judgemental. But for the love of god, come out of the closet, already!!

It’s tactless, but funny in a way, too. I mean, you have to wonder what was going through the

It’s tactless, but funny in a way, too. I mean, you have to wonder what was going through the math teacher’s head when he looked at this picture and said, that’s perfect for my pre-algebra students. A surprised black man missing teeth. What a great idea…

I’m assuming the mother of the only black kid in this class is the one who took her complaint to the newspaper, because what her son really needs is more recognition. Anyone in that school will have heard about this anyway and if they hadn’t, the paper fills in the details.

School district spokeswoman Karen Smith said the math teacher, Matthew Curran, frequently uses photos and other illustrations on his work sheets to engage the students.

Curran reported, through Smith, that he found the image by doing a Google Images search for the phrase “multiply and divide.”

“I chose it because it said ‘no way,’ which is a comment my students make when I require them to show each calculation,” he wrote in an e-mail. “I had no idea that I might offend anyone. I am very sorry for any distress that this has caused my students and the community.”

The boy’s mother said she spent much of the weekend angry and in tears.

“It’s very stressful to be an African-American in the community and you want to fit in and you want to embrace all of the things Central Bucks offers you,” she said. “Who’s protecting us here?”

Why didn’t the teacher take a few minutes with some other photo of a shocked looking cat or something and do the same?

(via AP in a roundabout way) I’ll admit that took more than a few minutes. But still. Cute or what?

Monday night, after meeting with the boy’s family, NAACP Bucks County President John Jordan issued a written statement denouncing the events.

“It brings into question whether all of our children are being provided a safe and fair environment in which to learn. What happened here is unacceptable, and we will take steps to make sure it never happens again.”

NAACP Bucks County Executive Committee members plan to meet with the principal and the teacher involved in the incident at Lenape Middle School “in hopes of amicably resolving the issue,” the statement went on to say.

When the assignment was handed out to the class, several students expressed their disapproval of the picture, according to the NAACP. But the teacher told them to do the work anyway, according to the boy’s mother.

So what, putting a white hillbilly missing a few teeth of his own would have been better? Stereotypes are stereotypes and a teacher should know well enough to avoid them, including the stereotype that math is problematic..er, too hard for people to understand.

So, I’ll end with a quote that teacher could have considered instead of that crazy ass picture:

The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple. — S. Gudder
