Nothing posted for over 2 months…Ouch!! I knew it had been long, but this long! Wow, talk about procrastination. Well, its not entirely my fault, there were a multitude of reasons:

1. Not much happening. Atleast nothing worth writing a post about.
2. If anything does come up, putting it up on facebook is way easier. It also gets more responses than writing a blog post about it [whaddya know...my friends are even lazier than me! they comment on FB but not on my blog ]. I tell you, facebook is the real culprit…something happens, you ’share’ it, 5 mins later you have a couple of comments & 3 ‘likes’. I am also starting to see why twitter is so popular & getting to understand it’s tag of being “a micro-blogging platform”. Thank God my friends aren’t that active on it or my blog would be dead [No, it was on life support for the last 2 months. And now its back! Miracles do happen].
3. I am motivationally challenged [that is lazy in dumdum-speak] . Hey I never said that I was not…but please note that it comes last on the list of excuses

The blog should be seeing a flurry of activity after the 15th of Dec. You will be [hopefully] entertained by my description of the daily antics of my new Lab pup, Bruni. Currently she is running wild at home with both my mum & sis unable to rein her in. Hopefully I will be able to do so.

Lots is happening this december…new pup, my exams, anuj’s bday [party postpened due to exams ], bade mama coming to India, Pa-Mum & bade Mama-Mami’s anniversary. One of my bada bhais is getting hitched…..infact his wedding it today, later in the day. A whole lot of love & best wishes from me to both of them…& I am really sorry to miss out on their wedding…stupid exams . [On a related note, I find calling ppl bhabhi or jeejaji very awkward. I dont know why but it feels REALLY WEIRD!!!! And I mean super duper weird....] A little trivia:Its was his blog that introduced me to the world of blogging, so ALL of this is due to him. Loads of love bro!!

Hey People. I was always fond of blogging, but had never tried at it. I am starting blogging from today (i.e., November 27th, 2009). I am very happy to publish my very first post in my life in this blog. So i will be publishing stuffs relating to my life, my music, and even many more thoughts i want to share.

I have a cute pet called Shwethu (a cute little dog). She will be completing her 4 years this coming December. So i am very exited to celebrate her birthday (December 23). She is so cute. Her father is a labrador and mom is a pomeranian. Below i have added some nice photos of her taken today morning.

Isn’t she cute in the above pics? She is damn sexy and my hot Shwethu . I simply love her a lot. You never know how angry she might get or how cool she might be. She is totally unpredictable. Very demanding in nature. If she needs to eat pedigree, she never eats anything else till she gets a cup of pedigree to eat. .. Such a demanding dog. .. We all have a great time with her. She is a great companion to quarrel with… ..

TARQUINIA (VITERBO) – Salvataggio di un uomo in mare, nei pressi di Tarquinia: protagonista del recupero, nel tardo pomeriggio di ieri, è stata una Labrador di 3 anni, alla sua prima stagione da cane-bagnino.

E’ accaduto in un tratto di spiaggia libera in località Sant’Agostino, in provincia di Viterbo, dove Boca do Mar, questo il nome del cane, si trovava insieme al proprio conduttore, Emiliano Bufalini di 36 anni.

Nel giorno d’avvio in Italia della stagione operativa della Sics, cane e conduttore hanno visto a 100 metri dalla riva un uomo in difficoltà a causa della corrente forte.

Soddisfatto il presidente della Sics Tirreno Roberto Gasbarri, il quale ricorda che da oggi a fine agosto, 40 cani e conduttori saranno operativi nelle seguenti località: Marina Velca, Tarquinia, Sant’Agostino, Civitavecchia, Nettuno, Pozzuoli, Bacoli, Ischia, Agropoli Paestum.

I nearly fell off my chair when i found a website doing Beef Casserole Dog Food. This is the creme de la creme of dog food and it seems it is proving very popular indeed.

I contacted someone at the company supposedly making the ‘best dog food’, Burgess,  and they told me that the Beef Casserole dry dog food has been flying off the shelves! It seems dog owners really do want the best dog food for their pets, and in this case, there is nothing that can top Beef Casserole. It does sound tasty, i must admit.

So, anyway, i bought some and my dog absolutely loves it! The gravy granules can be heated up to give its consistency and it just smells divine.  My labrador ate it all and i dont think it even touched the sides!

So, for something completely different, give the Burgess Beef Casserole dog food a go – i reckon this is the best dog food out there.

Hello! My name is Cooper. I turned 5 in July. I can’t actually talk or write…or blog. My mum, Julee, is doing this for me. It’s not like she has nothing better to do but she felt like blogging about something but does not really enjoy talking about herself so she decided that I would make a better subject matter. I protested, as this just means more time spent in front of the computer and less time to play with me!

Anyway….. I am the only dog in this household. My folks haven’t got any children either, so I am pretty lucky (or spoiled even) I only moved in here in January this year (2009) I lived with a much bigger family before this. I do not remember much and even if i did, I am unable to divulge any information as I am bound by the privacy act. All I can say is that my first mum & dad split up and they could no longer take care of me. One day, my current mum & dad (Steve) turned up and took me away and into my new life. Lots have changed since then.

I have put on some weight but not much as my mum is very strict about my diet. Some days, I get eyes right and on these days I get a few extra treats and if I try really hard, I even get to lick her plate! Yum!

I have also lost my guli’s. This made me much calmer but something else seems to have happened because I have become a somewhat worried fella!! I can’t seem to help it. When I see another dog on a walk, I try to pretend not to have seen him and sniff at something the other way.

I no longer sleep outside. Instead, I have a great big lush dog bed! I love it. My bed is surrounded by little cushions. I am a very happy fella!

Mum teaches yoga. We have a little yoga studio at home so I get lots of visitors every day. It’s great fun! Apparently I am a bit too noisy and have a loud and intimidating bark. I can’t help myself. I get so excited, and just want to say hi. Some times, I feel insecure and can’t stop barking. I am not even sure why this is. We are all slowly working at ironing out this noisy behavior. I am not allowed in the studio. Sometimes, I sit outside and watch them practice. I am slowly beginning to loose interest in this. It is nice to have all these people coming in & out of the flat. Some of them are afraid to come near me but most of the people who come give me loads of cuddles and kisses. Some days, I have to put on my professional sad eyes to get just that little bit more attention.

I get to go out for walkies 3 times a day. My favorite is the last walk when dad comes home. I get so excited!! Dad allows me to be mental! Sometimes i completely loose the plot!! Dad drives a sportscar. I don’t really enjoy riding in the car, especially when mum comes along too. I think we have a picture of that…..

It’s not very fun.

Most weekends are the best! We all go out for a nice big walk and spend all our day together. I also have a godfather-type of friend. His name is Michael and he takes care of me whenever my folks need to go away. I love Michael! He is kind & gentle and spends all his time with me when he has me. I get to sit with him on his sofa and go wherever i want!! See…. i AM a lucky fella!

Right…. so this is my life in a nutshell. Nothing much happens day to day but I will let you know of all the little excitement in my little life!!

Oh dear, having just dealt with the lame cat, I’ve now got a lame pig Poor old Perky, she’s currently hobbling round on three pins, while we wait for the vet to arrive. I’m hoping she’s just bruised her foot (somehow) and that a swift recovery is just round the corner.

Wait and see, that’s all I can do.

Meet Rosie. She is three. A sweet girl, full of fun and bucket loads of love. It was this love that ensured she was spayed at a very young age, and has been the cause of many embarrassing moments at the park thanks to her tendency to roll on her back at the sight of any incoming male or female dog. My dog has been called a sex worker and I frequently get asked if she takes after her mother. WTF? How rude is that? But what can you say to a 70 year old woman who’s dog is sniffing the butt of my girl who is conveniently on her back and no amount of pulling or clapping will get her up? Concrete burn hurt much?

Rosie is a black Labrador, weighing in at a tiny 26kgs, despite her best efforts to weigh more and wow does she try! It is a constant struggle to keep her at her current weight. When Rosie was a puppy we found her bottom/tail up eating her way to the bottom of a 20 kg bag of dog food with her legs and tail flailing in the air. Eat too much? Puke it up, then you can have seconds!  Eat a kilo of peanuts? Prepare to enjoy the many peanut slabs spread around your backyard. It’s rubbish day? Oh boy!

Yet she is my precious girl and her sense of fun, her softness towards my 11 month old nephew and her beautiful nature mean that everyone who meets her loves her and I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

As a lab owner I have learnt how to food proof our house, spot random chicken bones on the footpath from a 15 meter distance, put up with mass amounts of black hair being shed in spring and hide my knickers. I love her. And while I am really strict about her diet, I love making her treats. I have found specialty recipes on-line that are both low fat and tasty  (well they make her drool!) with the added benefit of not containing all the preservatives or high cost that regular dog treats have.

One of Rosie’s fav cookies are Baby Beef Dog treats. Have a look on gourmetsleuth.com for more recipe ideas. But these are strictly treats. Rosie only gets treats when we practice her tricks or she is doing some training. Or when she smooches up to Mr Pupcakes, he’s a total softie! I’ll post a picture of her treats shortly, I’ve been too busy making wedding cakes to bake Rose’s treats, sorry sugar!

It’s Friday. I have seven things to tell you. Get ready.

1. I posted something that was very important to me yesterday and only one of you responded. That hurt my feelings.

2. One of my best friends is getting married this weekend. I was supposed to be a bridesmaid. Due to issues with taking leave from work plus the expensive plane tickets, I can’t be there, and I’m pretty bummed about it. Helen, I’m thinking about you!

3.. I inherited a plant when I took my job. The lady who had this job before me left it and told me it hadn’t bloomed since it was given to her. A while back, someone else told me the plant is a Christmas cactus. I looked up how to care for such a plant and have been doing my best. Although I killed the plant we got from IKEA, this cactus has started to bloom again. It’s beautiful! See?

4. Thanksgiving is next week and it’s still in the 50s here. I LOVE it! Last year, we were a day or two away from our first snow at this point. This warmer weather can stay all winter…please stay. We have also had two sunny days in a row. It’s phenomenal. We were all starting to get a bit depressed from the constant gray drizzle. It’s nice to have a break!

5. Due to all the rain, we have been having to deal with a lot of mud, which is to be expected. I stumbled across a crazy amount of unexpected “growth” due to the rain while on my way to work the other day:

Yes, that is a mound of mushrooms.

6. Tonight, I am heading to the Arts & Crafts center to finish the quilted table topper I started a couple weeks ago. Wish me luck! Pictures to come soon.

7. I called John to come home from work on Wednesday morning. In our 18 months of marriage, I have never asked him to do this. I was sobbing. I had taken Béni out for his morning walk, and one thing was different from usual: I was wearing my work shoes instead of sneakers. Béni saw two small dogs when we were heading back toward our apartment and took off running toward them. The force yanked me forward incredibly hard. I stumbled a bit with my arm fully extended. I yelled to the woman with the two dogs that I couldn’t stop my dog. Then it happened. Béni pulled even harder. My feet came out from under me (stupid work shoes lacking in traction) and I landed and was dragged a short bit across the asphalt in the street. My nice Ann Taylor LOFT pants were muddy (and I had no idea if they were torn or not – thank goodness they weren’t. I only have 3 pairs of dressy pants). My hands were cut up. My back hurt, and I was shaken up. My dog was running around like a craz-o around the two other dogs. I’m sure that woman thinks I’m a horrible dog owner. Sigh. I got back inside and started crying. I called John, because I didn’t want to deal with Béni, and more than anything, I wanted a hug. He was home so fast - he ran! He was excellent taking care of me as well as the loose ends at home so I could get to work. Two days later, my hand still hurts, and my neck, back and tailbone are sore. Béni has also lost his priviledge of walking on the retractable leash. He is only allowed to walk right next to us on a short lead now.
