Champions announced yesterday their upcoming Nemesis dungeon. This is a new lair for end-game players who are members of UNITY. It seems pretty interesting, and it ties more of your characters personal villian into the game which is nice. I’m still not seeing a hell of a lot of end-game available to me yet in game, which is still my biggest disapointment with the game. I want to have something to strive for in a game, and CO doesn’t give me that in the slightest. I’ll keep chugging away at the game, and will cap out soon I hope. I just got done with all I possibly can on Monster Island, and have to do the Lemuria Crisis now (if I can find an instance with more than just me in it…).

Introduction: Despised Icon is a Death Metal band reigning from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. With an emphasis on blistering fast drums and quick guitar riffs, mixed with traditional style break downs. Despised Icon brings a unique and great combination of death metal styles and progression to the table with this ten track beauty, ‘Day Of Mourning‘.

Good: The production on this album right off that bat puts this on the top of any Death Metal lovers favourites. The drums are cleverly mixed in the drummers perspective. Bells, splashes, crashes, snares, and toms in the appropriate ears and mixed well in surround sound. Guitars are panned just right showing each players personal style and signature riff. Both vocalists make this a very heavy and lyrical filled listen. Low growls, high screams, and gang vocals… What else could you ask for? The bass for the most part is in the background, but has a very cool solo moment in the track ‘MVP‘. The overall sound is some of the heaviest riff I’ve heard, but the way it’s played and recorded it doesn’t sound over the top or inaudibly low. Very strong CD all-round.

Bad: The last track on the CD titled ‘Sleepless‘ is left to be desired. It sounds like they were just trying to add a ‘softer‘ song just for the sake of having it. It’s not totally terrible, but it’s for sure not their style. Believe it or not that’s all the ‘bad‘ I could find to write about.

Conclusion: This is a very fast and brutal CD. I would recommend that anyone who remotely enjoys heavy music to pick ‘Day Of Mourning‘ up at their next visit to the CD shop. It’s a very technical and enjoyable listen and will surely be one of the best of this holiday seasons’ releases.

Soooo….I’m a bit behind here but I have never really had the urge to head into Ony’s Lair.  The guild put together a group to run tonight.  After three wipes we finally got her.  Nothing good as far as loot but it was definitely a learning experience.  And seeing 8k DPS on the charts doesn’t hurt my confidence either (Thanks to phase 2 for that).

For a Rogue there’s not much to this fight.  PHASE 1 – Tank and spank but stay on the side of Ony to avoid tail and talon swipe.  at 60% health you begin PHASE 2 – First Fan of Knives the group of whelps that come out.  Redirect aggro using Tricks of the Trade.  Also your are watching for “Deep Breath” and you must immediately move to a wall in her lair.  After first phase of whelps switch to Guardian Adds (move out of range of guardians during blast nova) until 40% health and then begins PHASE 3 – Another tank and spank with some fears thrown in.  It’s really nothing when everyone pays attention and does their job.

It was short and fun and now that I’ve got an idea of how the fight goes I’m not as worried about Puggin it for 25man.

For now on I will no longer post scores on any of my reviews. I believe this will benefit all my readers (all four of you!) in great ways, and will help everyone who reads to find the best Music, Comics, and Games that are best for them.

This means that if I write about anything… You NEED to have it. Not will this only mean you wont have to waste ten minutes reading about something you wont like, but will also make the items I review more enjoyable for myself. Recently, I killed a turtle.

Admittedly, that’s not the most impressive-sounding of feats.  And it’s a turtle that many others have defeated before me.

At first, it even looked like a particularly weedy opponent (especially for a raid), but pretty soon I discovered, in true Father Ted stylee, that this was because the turtle was Far, rather than Small.  This turtle was a big turtle.  So much so that it went from being “the turtle” to “The Turtle” pretty rapidly.

I’d not faced off against The Turtle previously.  It’s a one monster, one room fight.  It’s a test of dps, where the idea is to race between the amount of damage we can kick out, against the rapidly increasing amount of dot damage the monsty kicks out.

In an age where fighting raid bosses seem to be more a case of performing random crazy acts at the same time as tanking, damaging and healing, this was a refreshing change.  After time spent in Ulduar, this was a fantastically straight-forward fight for a healer;

Can I keep healing fast enough, and cleverly enough, to keep everyone alive?  Or am I going to blow my power so fast that we all end up dying?

It was also a reminder of why I love raiding.  I love pitting my wits and skill against a situation, and constantly wondering if I’ve got it right.  Especially when I’m in a situation that I’ve not encountered before.  Because I’m targeting other raid-members rather than the monsty itself, I have no idea how much longer I need to keep things together; feeling like it’s just about to unravel when the raid boss drops is the best feeling in the world.

It was the first time I’ve been involved in killing Nornuan.  Probably won’t be my last.

I have just finished the first part of filming with Val’s Mediacorp project and after the interview portion, it made me take a good look at how far I’ve come. It’s really hard for me to believe that I’m not even one year into the business because of all the great relationships I’ve had with the people who I’ve worked with over the past 10 months. A WOMAN who fears she came face to face with Polish sex attacker Tomasz Kryczyk while his victim was still being raped described him as “evil” yesterday – and spoke of her regret at not calling police when she had the chance.

The 39-year-old from Dalry in Edinburgh – who does not want to be identified – said she stumbled across the sadist as he scrambled up an embankment and started adjusting his clothing.

It was thought his co-accused – Michal Marchlewski – may still have been raping their 24-year-old Australian victim during an eight hour ordeal.

Sinister

Today the woman told how she will always regret failing to call police despite admitting being spooked by their “sinister” behaviour.

And while Kryczyk hanged himself in prison and Marchlewski faces life in jail, she knows the life of their victim has been ruined forever.

She said: “They say the eyes are a way to see to the soul and his were evil.”

Recalling the day of the attack, she added: “I was walking my dog when he came up from out of the trees.

“He started fixing his trousers and jacket, straightening them up.

“He didn’t seem to be nervous of looking around. Just emotionless.

Uncomfortable

“He didn’t try to hide or anything. I knew that something was not quite right with him, it was the look on his face and how he acted.

“He started to stare at the girls. Then the younger man came out as well.

“They talked in an East European language and they just stared at the girls in a way which just made me feel uncomfortable.

“It was sinister.”

She added: “The way he (Kryczyk) looked at them was just not right.

“His face was blank – he seemed to be cracked in the head.”

“They say the eyes are a way to see to the soul and his were evil.

“I actually thought about calling the police – but I didn’t.

“I regret that, now.”

The attack took place on February 16 when their victim was pounced upon as she walked through a subway near the Fountainpark complex in Edinburgh.

Horrific

She was subdued by a pepper spray to the face and dragged to their lair nearby where Kryczyk raped her five or six times and Marchlewski at least twice.

Marchlewski admitted his guilt in court on Tuesday an faces life in jail after Lord Bracdale deferred sentence for reports.

Detective Inspector Duncan Morrison from Lothian and Borders Police described the incident as the most horrific sexual crime he had ever investigated.

The brave victim, who has now moved back to Australia, told the court she was convinced the men had planned to kill her.

Every time I get a PI/Masterclass going on during the weekend, I usually spend the whole week dealing with sleep issues. Even after almost a year of being in the business, I find myself still mad-excited about an upcoming weekend. Watching aspiring guys undergo a life-changing weekend and playing a part towards them achieving their dreams is a feeling unlike any other.  After my tune-up night tonight, there’ll be exactly 2 more days to go before another explosive PI weekend. I can’t wait!

A bit of history here. Back in 2006-2007, this same seminar, which was held in privacy and secrecy was one of the things that launched some of the best Seduction Guys in Manila who actually produced consistent, credible results while living a successful life path. It doesn’t take a genius to understand this : Conversation is a key component when it comes to dating. Being a good conversationalist can so much as make or break an interaction. But do you truly know the main points of romantic conversation?

Why is it that some guys can get their message across so much faster and accomplish things like getting a girlfriend(s), making out with a girl, sleeping with a girl? Because these guys, like our TDD alumni, understand the main purpose and points of romantic conversation.

The truth is, too much attention is placed on conversation. One big gripe I have with Pick-Up Artists is their very narrow-minded focus on conversation. I’m going to be blunt here, PUA systems out there know JACKSHIT about conversation. A lot of what PUAs and guys out there are not aware that they are talking too much. Although 90% of the people out there do this too, it’s especially these PUAs who like to they think they can talk their way around problems. They think there’s a perfect routine or superficial solution to overcome certain issues and get the girl into bed. If you are such a person, I am going to smash that belief right in front of you right now : NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

This workshop aims to educate you on becoming an EFFICIENT conversationalist when it comes to dating. There is no other conversational system out there that can accomplish what we can in such a short time. I am going to say this again, most people and especially PUAs know JACKSHIT about conversation. They are constantly in a perpetual state of “guessing” and are always unsure. The best thing they can do is suggest or read a suggestion by some other weirdo.

Be the man who UNDERSTANDS conversation entirely! At TDD, we are always CERTAIN because because we do not play the reactive game. We do not do “relating for comfort” bullshit that is almost always uneccessary. More importantly, we are AWARE of the purpose and main points of conversation, so we know what to say at the any time.

Breakthrough Conversation Workshop

It doesn’t take a genius to understand this : Conversation is a key component when it comes to dating. Being a good conversationalist can so much as make or break an interaction. But do you truly know the main points of romantic conversation?

Why is it that some guys can get their message across so much faster and accomplish things like getting a girlfriend(s), making out with a girl, sleeping with a girl? Because these guys, like our TDD alumni, understand the main purpose and points of romantic conversation.

The truth is, too much attention is placed on conversation. One big gripe I have with Pick-Up Artists is their very narrow-minded focus on conversation. I’m going to be blunt here, PUA systems out there know JACKSHIT about conversation. A lot of what PUAs and guys out there are not aware that they are talking too much. Although 90% of the people out there do this too, it’s especially these PUAs who like to they think they can talk their way around problems. They think there’s a perfect routine or superficial solution to overcome certain issues and get the girl into bed. If you are such a person, I am going to smash that belief right in front of you right now : NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

This workshop aims to educate you on becoming an EFFICIENT conversationalist when it comes to dating. There is no other conversational system out there that can accomplish what we can in such a short time. I am going to say this again, most people and especially PUAs know JACKSHIT about conversation. They are constantly in a perpetual state of “guessing” and are always unsure. The best thing they can do is suggest or read a suggestion by some other weirdo.

Be the man who UNDERSTANDS conversation entirely! At TDD, we are always CERTAIN because because we do not play the reactive game. We do not do “relating for comfort” bullshit that is almost always uneccessary. More importantly, we are AWARE of the purpose and main points of conversation, so we know what to say at the any time.

Playstation Motion Controller – BEST GAME EVER. Hey, remember the sixaxis motion controller? THAT WAS THE BEST GAME EVER TOO! Also, I love how the technology basically has no name, (kind of like Massive Action Game) and that all we’ve seen are tech demos. Game comes out 2010! Believe it! Because Sony said so! Sony never lies!

MAG – unproven 256 player online shooter with generic name and generic shooting. Tiered command system obviously will fail due to people not following orders. Under the huge map and multiple groups will you even actually see 256 players playing in the same screen? If not, then what’s the use of actually having them all in one map? 256 Players. Only 3 with headsets. TOTALLY WINS OVER HALO RITE!?

Agent – Agent coming in 2010? Don’t think so. Heck, I haven’t seen anything about this game at all.

Final Fantasy XIV – BEST MMORPG EVER!!!! Remember FF11? Subscription fees are teh awesomesauce! 2 day bosses FTW

The Agency – The Agency!? Another MMO by Sony Online Entertainment? Haven’t they learned their lessons? Sony is horrible at online.

DC Universe Online – Dude seriously? Another MMO. By Sony. I wouldn’t even compare this with a random XBLA exclusive.

Free Realms – Free Realms?…. mmo. Holy crap and it looks bad.

Think very deeply before you compare a bunch of MMO’s and promises to some hard hitting REAL, and very PROVEN console exclusives, sir.

Halo: Reach – Bungie. Proven.
Alan Wake – Demo proven.
Fable 3 – After 2 games, proven.
Splinter Cell: Conviction – Proven.

Forza 3 – Real. Proven. And this time, 2 Forza’s will be out even before Gran Turismo 5 even has a hope of coming out. Has car damage, has reactive AI, has online auctions, good online play, great online community.

I seriously do not know what you are smoking when you compare.

Yeah. Seriously. (Its a PS3 vs. 360 flame war. Except the dude was mentioning PS3 exclusives that didn’t have a history of greatness. Think Lair and you’ll see how unproven developers and games become utter crap and fail.)

What up people!

Apart from the fact that I was not able to access my site, WordPress, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and other popular social networking sites, I had a great time in China, capping off what I would call a really eventful week.

After doing some fun and successful back-to-back talks in Singapore and China, I felt that I owed it to myself to give myself a break. Say what you want to, but the TDD system’s effectiveness in Asia is just mind-blowing. I was so busy with work while I was in China but I could still pull off 2 lays and the wildest house-party I think I would ever attend in my lifetime. This is mostly credited to our proven system and paying attention to the only 2 elements that are within our control : Vibe and Logistics (Macro Plan).

I would love to write a report, but these days, I have it so easy that a report would really look more like bragging. If you really do want to know how to really ATTRACT and never blindly CHASE a woman, read on.

DevilDriver - Prey For Villains

Introduction: As DevilDriver’s fourth full length studio album they are looking to once again pen their way into the books of heavy metal. With thirteen tracks showing up on this release, DevilDriver is trying hard to top their previous release ‘The Last Kind Words‘ which shook the metal community with one of the strongest releases of 2007. Sit back and enjoy DevilDriver’s new release ‘Prey For Villains‘.

Good: I’ve always described DevilDriver to people as mediocre metal with the most amazing drums you’ve ever heard over top. That formula has, for the most part, held true in this edition to the DevilDriver roster. The drums are definitely the focal point in this album. Really tight kick sound, amazing cymbal work, pronounced toms, and a deep loud snare. The vocals haven’t really strayed in any new direction. Why fix what isn’t broken, eh. The guitars are taking a more old school progression this time. Lots of southern riffs, scratches, slides, and the signature clean delayed melodies have come back. These are by far my favourite moments in the guitars of DevilDriver. You’ll know what I mean when you hear it.

Some notable songs to consider checking out on this album are ‘Prey For Villains‘, ‘I’ve Been Sober‘, ‘Waiting For November‘, and ‘Another Night In London‘. If you don’t at least check out at least one of these songs you have missed some of the greatest heavy metal this year.

Bad: I have always felt that DevilDriver could rule the world if they wrote a little more intense and elaborate songs. The drums and vocals really set this band apart from everything else and make it truly amazing. The guitars on the other hand, while always impressive, always leave some riffs to be desired. Vocally some songs on ‘Prey For Villains‘, it feels like he’s trying way too hard to be different. Good on him for attempting to keep it fresh, but it at times sounds really weird. Which, weirdly enough, both of my gripes are on the same songs. ‘It’s In The Cards‘ and ‘Back With Vengeance‘ both suffer from both of these. The only song on the CD I don’t like is ‘‘I See Belief‘. The chorus of the song is tolerable, but everything else I just can’t stand. Weird time signatures, time changes, and bad transitions make this song my ‘avoid this song‘ choice for this CD. It only makes sense this is the last song on the CD.

Conclusion: DevilDriver keeps the heavy metal fans of 2009 happy one more year with a solid release. It does have some things keeping it back from being a total ‘Must Buy‘, but I highly recommend anyone who has never heard of this band to check out all of their CD’s. Constant solid performances by the drummer and vocalist like you’ve never heard. I will most definitely be reviewing a previous release of theirs in the future. If you’re already a fan I highly recommend you pick this one up. If you’re just a passer by, I think you should research the great songs before you make the final purchase.

DevilDriver’s ‘Prey For Villains’ gets 3.5 creepy horned owls out of 5.

Some curious citizens living on First Street called in to report strange noises coming from the abandoned area behind their building facing Houston Street right at the north edge of the Lower East Side in Manhattan. We sent someone along to investigate. The findings were inconclusive but the circumstances of the investigation were startling.

Attractive, fenced in space seemingly used for storage of old statues...

After several nights of watching and listening, our agent on the scene observed a figure draped in black descend through the doors, but never saw anyone leave. The entrance is this abandoned elevator shaft and the contents and details of what lies beneath are still unknown.

Off to the side is an old, seemingly defunct shaft not appearing to be fully abandoned after all.

When our agent tried to pull out his camera as the figure appeared, he was immediately approached by a woman wearing a form-fitting gray suit with long braided hair who told him in a serious and, as he describes, terrifying tone unusually low and manly for her appearance, “Leave now and do not return.” He described her eyes as orange with catlike, elongated pupils and went with his instinct to retreat. He looked away for an instant and, without seeing where or how she went, he turned his eyes back and she was gone. Our operative has not returned to the scene and still refuses to leave headquarters after dark.

Disclosing this information was a hard decision in terms of his and our collective safety at EOS, but I felt the information needed to be posted. These pictures were taken the day before our agent was approached by the mysterious woman, before seeing the figure go through the doors. More will be shared as the story develops.

Warning: this mysterious entrance should be regarded as dangerous territory and should not be approached (not even by trained professionals) until more is known.

I miss the days when Vickie, Patrick and I would ride the cab in the afternoon from school to Fort just to hang out. I miss going home from Fort, Rockwell, Shang, Glorietta and Greenbelt in a cab. I miss riding the jeepney with Ken from Glorietta or Greenbelt. I miss eating at Greenbelt 1’s McDonald’s. I miss riding the jeepney from school. I miss riding Kenneth’s car. I miss having what-to-wear-today problems. I miss panicking in the morning because the shirt/pants that I want to wear is not ironed yet. I miss looking for my underwears in the morning. LOL. I miss going home late at night because I practically have to go home from Trinoma or somewhere else that’s too far from home. I miss riding the bus from Trinoma to Guadalupe. I miss riding the LRT from Taft to EDSA. I miss riding the MRT from EDSA to Ayala/Guadalupe/Shang /Trinoma. I miss sleeping in hotels with friends for free. Always thanks to Kevin’s dad. I miss Ira’s Fontana Birthday. Everyone I miss now was there. I miss doing study groups at Kenneth’s house. I miss being tutored by JP. I miss doing thesis. I miss it, not love it. I miss sleeping late because of paper works. I miss doing MICREC problem sets. I miss playing badminton professionaly. I miss doing stage plays. I miss all my friends, seriously. Haven’t seen most of them for quite some time already. Generally speaking, I miss my old life.

P.S. My CT Scan results were negative. I don’t have lung cancer. Yey! At least good things are still happening to me after all this crap. Hehe.

En este episodio de “Víctimas del Hype”, tenemos a uno de los juegos de lanzamiento de la consola de Sony. Un juego que a muchos los emocionó porque “manejabas” un dragon con el sixaxis. Fue una buena idea, pero mal ejecutada.

En el E3 del 2005 se se mostraron videos CG de juegos como Metal Gear Solid 4, Motorstorm, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword, y un curioso juego de dragones llamado Lair de manos de Factor 5… al año siguiente se mostraron más videos del juego y cuando se anunció que el mando de la PS3 tendría sensor de movimientos y que dicho juego aprovecharía esta funcionalidad, el hype creció y creció y se convirtió en objeto de culto de fanboys y la prensa especializada.

Entrando en los detalles del propio juego, la historia de Lair habla sobre el conflicto que viven dos civilizaciones: Asylia y Mokai, dos pueblos que tratan de sobrevivir en un mundo que se desmorona por la continua erupción de miles de volcanes, cuyos gases vician la atmósfera y la hace irrespirable, convirtiendo vastas extensiones de terreno en auténticos infiernos de lava y ceniza. Los Aslyanos pudieron refugiarse en las montañas del sur, donde todavía se puede cultivar; los Mokai han conseguido sobrevivir en la frías montañas del norte, llevando una vida espartana y confiando en las máquinas a vapor como aliado en tan adversas circunstancias.

Lair está estructurado en misiones, cada una con su propio escenario y objetivo. Y están precedidas de una secuencia cinemática previa que no se puede abortar en principio –es un truco que los estudios usan para enmascarar el tiempo que tarda en cargar un nivel, y que la verdad es mejor que la clásica barrita de loading-. Pasados unos segundos de la secuencia, es posible abortarla y entrar directamente al campo de batalla, en el que la acción se desarrolla de forma continua, aunque con diferentes objetivos y con libertad total para que el jugador haga lo que le parezca –aunque ignorar los objetivos conduce irremediablemente a perder la batalla-.

Los gráficos del juego son simplemente impresionantes, las animaciones de los dragones son excelsas. Lamentablemente el sistema de juego hace que no puedas disfrutar el juego mas allá de la parte visual.Además, la tasa de frames no es muy estable y algunas veces durante las batallas eso se nota mucho.

La idea del control es muy buena y al principio incluso es reconfortante tener tanta interacción con el dragón con el sixaxis. Lamentablemente a la hora de las batallas resulta ser muy engorroso controlar al dragon de esta manera. Uno de los problemas es el acelerar y dar un giro de 180 grados, la aceleración requiere un movimiento hacía abajo, como si se estuviera sacudiendo las riendas, mientras que el giro de 380 grados es un movimiento hacía arriba, como si se estuvieran tirando de las riendas. En teoría queda muy realista, pero en la práctica, las características del mando de PS3 no son las mejores para este tipo de cosas, por lo que en ocasiones el juego confundirá un movimiento con otro. Después de algo de práctica esto no es tan recurrente, pero incluso así nunca tienes un 100% de seguridad al controlarlo.

Creo que el peor problema de Lair fue la mala precisión del sixaxis ya que la idea del control del dragón es muy buena. Después de tantas quejas sobre el control, Factor 5 decidió sacar un parche para que pudieras escoger entre controlar al dragón con los sticks o con el sensor de movimiento. Esto mejora la jugabilidad, pero le quita ese sentimiento de que vas montando un dragón, lo cual era lo más atractivo de juego.

Las críticas en general fueron muy malas, lo que le llevo a tener una calificación promedio de 53, con la recurrente opinión de “Es un juego muy bonito, pero hasta ahí. Más allá de los gráficos todo está mal ejecutado”. La verdad fué una lástima tanto potencial desperdiciado.
