I’m sure many of you watched the AMA’s last weekend…sounds like old news but performer Adam Lambert is still making headlines with his raunchy performance. Yes, I said raunchy because it was. I realize that performers can’t please every single fan, but Lambert’s following is a young crowd and I’m sure the parents didn’t appreciate his couple of stunts. One of his stunts involved his mouth and a mans lower half (you can guess the rest). I believe he will lose some of his following and with a comment he made recently, “I’m not a babysitter, I’m a performer,” he ruined it for himself. It sounded so cocky! I realize as a musical artist you express yourself BUT you have to take into consideration the timing of your concert, audience and repercussions. Lambert was supposed to kick off GMA’s Fall Concert Series the following week but he was cut off. Do you guys think he took it a little too far at his concert?

Waking up everyday inspires me. Checking my social networks seeing the great things that people are

Waking up everyday inspires me.

Checking my social networks seeing the great things that people are accomplishing by the second inspires me.

New life inspires me.

Haters and naysayers inspire me.

The good, the bad and the ugly all serve as inspiration to me.

There have been times when I am at my highest moment and can’t imagine anyone taking me off of my game, then I meet someone doing better than I, someone who has already achieved a goal that I am working for or someone doing something that I could do (i.e. volunteering). It is sometimes a gift and a curse. I am a hard worker who tries to do it all. I want to continue learning by reading, further my career by working and help others by loving. My days can sometimes be jammed packed. However, inspiration is there to let me know that multi-tasking is my talent…and I possess the power to do it all.

On the other hand, there have been times when I feel backed into a corner, alone and lost as to what direction I am trying to move in. This is when I read things from @affirmationspot and @revrunwisdom on twitter, hear from a pastor or even listen to a family member or friend that I see that this is not the end. If you take a look at my tweets from Nov. 29, 2009 below, you will see that I found the inspiration and wanted to spread it so that maybe I could be someone’s inspiration for the day. One of the things that makes me happiest in life is knowing that I have helped someone financially, emotionally or spiritually.

Success to me is genuine happiness, ability to take care of my family & the opportunity to love without any boundaries-everyday I get closer from UberTwitter

Surrounding yourself with positive people and people with common goals as yourself is proven instant motivation. I have worked with some of the most talented women in my field and everyday they inspire me. A few that come to mind are Michelle Zdrowdowski at Franco Public Relations Group, Tara Powers at Lambert, Edwards & Associates and Emily Palsrok at John Bailey & Associates. They are true divas that exude positive energy. They work, have families and stay very stylish! Having someone to grab inspiration from always has a positive outcome. That is why I encourage having mentors.

Wherever you look, from social networks, to family and friends, to mentors in your field, inspiration is all around you. Cease the day, suck in that inspiration and put your talents to work! Until next time…

Talk about “No Boundaries”: Adam Lambert made his first big post-Idol splash tonight, closing the Am

Talk about “No Boundaries”: Adam Lambert made his first big post-Idol splash tonight, closing the American Music Awards with a performance of his debut single “For Your Entertainment” that — to my surprise and disappointment — emphasized shock-and-awe imagery over his standard-operating vocal excellence. To be fair, the entire telecast was racked with sound-mix issues that left even seasoned pros (except for maybe Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, and Jay-Z) sounding distant and tinny, but as someone who saw Adam’s Idols Live tour set twice this summer, the one thing I didn’t expect from the season 8 runner-up was intermittent pitch problems.

Alas, we got those, and a lot more than I’d hoped/bargained for: Adam dragging a female backup dancer across the stage by her leg, as if she were a lace-covered sack of potatoes; Adam grasping the head of a submissive-styled male backup dancer and pulling him into an uncomfortable round of simulated oral sex (while ABC muted the audio to protect us from who only knows what); a tutu-clad woman cupping Adam’s nether-regions; Adam grasping and snapping the leather “bikini area” (for lack of a better term) of a female dancer’s costume; and Adam taking a break from his singing duties for an impromptu game of tongue twister with a keyboardist of indeterminate gender.

Look, as EW’s resident Idoloonie, I was rooting for Adam’s coming out party to the non-Idol set to be a smashing success, something that would propel his saucy, exciting debut disc to the top of the charts in what’s going to be one of the most competitive weeks in record stores all year. And in Adam’s defense, he took what appeared to be a rather nasty and unplanned tumble midway through his set that could’ve potentially thrown him off his game. Also, lest we forget (and it certainly is easy to do so), he is not a seasoned headliner, so nerves certainly could’ve played a factor, too

But the bottom line is that Adam’s AMA performance felt less like a genuine expression of his high-octane sexuality (so playfully erotic when he fondled the mic stand during “Whole Lotta Love” this summer), and more like a carefully planned stab at dominating the post-AMA blogosphere/water-cooler discussion. I’m certainly no prude…the idea of saucy boy-on-boy/boy-on-girl/boy-on-not-quite-sure action does not rattle my cage — certainly not at 10:55 p.m. on a school night. And yet, what’s sad is that unlike, say, a J.Lo or even a Rihanna, Adam could’ve had tongues wagging just from his vocals alone. Instead, that golden voice took a backseat tonight at the AMAs, and I’m not sure exactly who was occupying the driver’s seat.

What did you think of Adam’s “For Your Entertainment” set tonight? Were you turned on or bored or offended by the sexual hijinks? What did you think of the actual vocals? And will the performance help or hurt his first-week sales? Sound off in the comments below, and to get all my Idol musings, follow me on Twitter @EWMichaelSlezak.

I’m largely indifferent to Adam Lambert. Sure, he’s hot, he’s gay and I’d totally hit that, but I probably won’t ever get the chance to, so who cares?

I'd hit that up one side and back down the other!

That said, I do find the recent fufurrah about his performace at the AMA’s to be really amusing.

See, he was performing on stage, singing some song or another, and started doing things like kissing one of the other (male) people on stage, doing some crotch grinding and the like. It was all fairly tame, frankly, by the standards of what goes on at such performances.

Ah, but in this case it was a gay man… with other men! Think of the children!

Adam Lambert did think of the children. He was asked by someone on CBS’ The Early Show if he thought he needed to apologize to his fans in general and the children (won’t someone please think of the children?!), to which Lambert replied with “Nope“. Good on him!

Lambert doesn’t have anything to apologize for. He didn’t do anything worse that someone like Madona, Brittney Spears or any of the other, generally female, singers out there. They do it and no one really minds (or they just get turned on). But when an openly gay man does it? Horror!

Oh, well. I’m sure that somehow our nation will find the strength to move on. We managed to survive the Crisis of Janet Jackson’s Nipple. If we lived through that, we can handle this.

Be strong, America!

Oh Adam Lambert your do it attitude is impressive. Alot of artists are afraid to express themselves to the fullest. You on the other hand are showing them that its ok to be yourself even if it means your trashed or loved.

First things first tho. Why are people saying that it WAS OVER THE TOP. What is over the top anyway? He stuck a man’s face in his crotch, grabbed between a womans legs, kissed a guy. When is that wrong? Soap operas, Entertainers, Playboy, TV shows, Music Videos, Reality TV have been doing the exact same thing. I personally dont think they censor him because he’s gay. But I do believe it’s because he’s a male figure. Woman have been allowed to do it and its hot to everybody. What because she has breasts? Why should his gender play any kind of important role in how he is looked at?

And about the parents screaming my kids were watching that. First off he TOLD EVERYONE IT WAS GOING TO BE SEXY. And second if you didn’t like them watching Adam then why did you let them watch him and then complain about it. I have children and if I dont want them to watch SEXY they dont watch it period. You as the parents need to control what your kids get out of the media. Not ADAM. And sorry parents saying it was rated TV-14. Your 14 yr olds more than likely are talking and doing a lot more than what he did. You just are to naive. Or don’t bother to care.

Everybody just needs to look at this as a wake up call. This isnt going to be the only SEXY performance from him so if this bothered you don’t let your kids watch him. Have them buy his record and follow his music that way. BE RESPONSIBLE.

Anyway I believe Adam to be one of the true ROLE MODELS out there because he is HIMSELF and doesnt pretend to be boy next door when hes not.

Ok, so according to you, it’s perfectly fine for two girls to basically have gay sex and simulate masturbation on stage, but when two guys do the same thing, it’s crude? What the fuck??? That doesn’t even make sense!!! THAT IS THE MOST PREJUDICED STATEMENT TO EVER COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. FUCK YOU.
AINow.org hosted an online chat with Anoop Desai this afternoon. Anoop answered questions prepared by the AINow staff as well as selected questions tweeted prior to the chat by his fans. The best quote from this afternoon may be this:

“Giving up is not an option for me, and neither is failure. We’re going to get this going together! I love you and thank you!”

In addition, Anoop revealed the titles of his new songs (see the previous post), his career road map, what he will be singing at the San Francisco Union Square Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 27, his take on the controversial American Music Award performance by his friend Adam Lambert, and how he plans to survive a zombie attack – by running fast.

NEW YORK (AP) — Adam Lambert’s racy American Music Awards performance cost him a gig on

NEW YORK (AP) — Adam Lambert’s racy American Music Awards performance cost him a gig on “Good Morning America,” but he will perform live instead on ABC’s morning rivals at CBS.

Lambert was to sing Wednesday on “GMA,” but the network said Tuesday it was canceling the openly gay singer because “we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

While singing his new song, “For Your Entertainment,” at the awards program on Sunday, Lambert kissed a male keyboardist, fondled a dancer and had another dancer briefly stuff his face in Lambert’s crotch. The performance prompted many complaints to ABC, and the network cut out the brief oral sex simulation for its West Coast broadcasts.

“Obviously, I respect their decision — they gotta do what they gotta do,” Lambert said Tuesday in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. “It’s too bad — I think there were a lot of fans who were excited to come see me.

“They probably had a lot of pressure coming at them from certain people who weren’t happy about it,” he said.

ABC News’ top management made the decision to cancel Lambert, spokeswoman Cathie Levine said. She said there was no pressure from the parent Walt Disney Co.

While women have often crossed the threshold regarding sexually provocative appearances on television — think Madonna kissing Britney Spears — Lambert’s performance was perhaps the first time it has been done by an openly gay man. The singer said before Sunday’s show that he was hoping to accomplish just that.

“There are a lot of double standards as far as that goes,” Lambert said backstage, a few days before the awards show. “We’ve seen female pop and rock performers do that for the last 10 years. They’ve been very provocative, owning their power and sexuality. You just don’t see men doing it very often. And I’m hoping to break down that double standard with this number.”

Said Alicia Keys when asked about Lambert’s performance, “I don’t know. You make different choices as a performer. It’s all about opinion. It’s all about what works for the performer.”

ABC said it felt burned because Lambert went further on the air with sexuality than he did in rehearsals — including the kiss. But the man putting his face to Lambert’s crotch was included in a rehearsal, according to an Associated Press reporter who attended the rehearsal. It was that sort of unpredictability that bothered ABC, particularly on a morning show with many young viewers watching.

Shortly after ABC’s cancellation, CBS quickly announced Tuesday that Lambert would appear on “The Early Show” Wednesday morning both to perform and discuss the reaction to Sunday’s appearance. Lambert is also appearing on David Letterman’s “Late Show” Wednesday, which was scheduled weeks ago.

The morning news ratings leader, NBC’s “Today” show, did not consider Lambert because it already has a Bon Jovi concert scheduled for Wednesday, said its executive producer, Jim Bell.

The “Good Morning America” Web site was flooded with comments from viewers about the Lambert cancellation. Some applauded ABC for taking a stand against vulgarity, while others suggested the network was being homophobic.

The glam rocker finished second on “American Idol” this spring. His performances on the reality singing contest were not as provocative, but he was among the show’s most colorful competitors with a voice compared to Queen’s Freddie Mercury. After the competition, he came out publicly as gay.

“For Your Entertainment” is the first single from Lambert’s new album, which went on sale Monday.

The “Good Morning America” cancellation was first reported on TVNewser and Hollywood Life Web sites.

The performance prompted many complaints to ABC, and the network cut out the brief oral sex simulation for its West Coast broadcasts.

My Response:

Hold up a second. Lets forget for a moment that Adam (as horrible an entertainer as he is) is gay. Lets look at him like an entertainer. A singer. So he gets censored and then as a result of that, gets booted from a morning talk show gig. Sounds like the PC Police are out in full force again and they have blinders on.

Here is what I mean. So, yeah, Adam chooses to be an inconsiderate role model (this was ABC during prime time) and he plants a kiss on some keyboarist. What’s the difference between that and Madonna kissing Britney? Hmmm? Here is something more interesting. Adam grabs some guys crotch and everyone gets uppity and calls this vulger and disgusting, yet in the opening act with janet Jackson, she does the very same thing, grabs some guys crotch and no one says boo?

WTF people?!

Hold on a second. I just thought of something. Is it “political correctness” or “social correctness” that we are seeking? Also, is there such a thing as “political correctness”? Politicians seldom if ever seem to get things right, the term seems to be oxy-moronic. Maybe I just created a new word that may be determined to be politically incorrect. For the time being I can’t think of a better word to use so I’m leaving it in there.

It used to be that you could say, “I keep you in my thoughts and prayers.” Now it is politically correct to say, “I keep you in my thoughts.” Apparently it is incorrect to pray for someone because it might be offensive.

I used to think that it wasn’t what you said but how you said it that made the difference. Now I think that it isn’t what you said but who said it that makes the difference.

Compare Rap music lyrics to the word choice of Don Imus and you’ll have a better understanding. There are double standards. Stevie Wonder can sing about being a “nappy headed little boy” but I can’t call Stevie Wonder a “nappy headed little boy”.

It has gotten to the point that if you have a point to make you might want to keep your ideas to yourself. Be aware of what you say and certainly how you say it, it might be considered inappropriate by others.

When I played basketball in high school I played on the boys team. Do young African-American males play on the boys team or is it that politically incorrect to say? I don’t know. I used to think…I know what to say but I don’t know how to say it anymore for fear of upsetting somebody. Maybe I’ll just keep my mouth shut and my fingers off of the keyboard. But, if I do that this “political correctness” stuff is going to perpetuate itself. Pretty soon we might be living in a world of silence because everybody is afraid to say anything out of the fear that it might be offensive. Now I think, screw what you think, I am going to say what I mean.

The N.A.A.C.P. (The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is a well-founded organization yet you can’t refer to a person as being colored. The term colored is offensive and racial in nature. You can have red hair, blue eyes or yellow teeth but skin color is different.

I didn’t know it until this week but according to the Reverend Al Sharpton the word “lynch” is a specific racial term. I wonder how Merrill feels about that. I looked it up in various dictionaries and did not find any definition applying the word to any specific race. Maybe Al is just a little sensitive, I don’t know. Unfortunately, the lady who used the word “lynch” was suspended from her job for two weeks due in part to the insistence of Al Sharpton, actually he wanted her fired. I can only assume that the executives of the Golf Channel were afraid that to do otherwise might further incense the Reverend Al Sharpton. At any rate a lady who meant nothing offensive by her comments is temporarily out of work because of her word choice. Like I said earlier it isn’t what you say but who says it.

The English language seems to change daily. New words come and old words remain but are less popular due to political correctness. Who really knows what is safe and not so safe today. Words that were perfectly acceptable in the past are now deemed to be discriminatory or inappropriate.

Does changing the “flavor of the day” word really change anything? Is there any difference between a secretary and an administrative assistant? Do custodial engineers clean better than janitors?

How can it be politically incorrect to tell a lady (girl? female? woman?) at your place of employment that her hair looks nice? Because it may be construed as sexual in nature and be held against both you and your employer. Yet you can tell the same lady (girl? female? woman?) that her hair looks nice at a club and it is a compliment? What is the poor bartender that works at the club supposed to say to a lady (girl? female? woman?) co-worker (or is it associate?) when he thinks her hair looks nice. Maybe he should just SHUT UP!

Special interest groups have imposed “Political correctness” upon us.

This is a nation that was founded upon many principles not the least of which is “Freedom of Speech.” If we don’t speak up soon we are going to lose this Constitutional right. The question that we must ask is what are the right words to choose when representing our rights. No matter what words we choose somebody will take exception to them, be offended by them or feel discriminated against by them. However, if we don’t say something now we might not ever be able to say something later!

After Adam Lambert’s pornographic performance at the American Music Awards, this seems the lea

After Adam Lambert’s pornographic performance at the American Music Awards, this seems the least ABC can do.

First on TVNewser: American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert won’t be appearing on “Good Morning America” tomorrow.

TVNewser has learned ABC News canceled the concert after Lambert’s sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards Sunday night. Lambert led men on leashes, dragged a woman by her foot, and smashed a man’s head into his crotch, all while singing his new single “For Your Entertainment.”

They ended up cutting the simulated oral sex when the show aired on delay on the west coast, which makes one wonder why they allowed the performance to go on the air at all.

ABC, which aired the awards show, received about 1,500 phone calls from people complaining about the performance, a number ABC calls “moderate.”

Lambert had promoted the appearance promising that he’d be offering up a shocker, and don’t they do these things on a 10 second delay since the Wardrobe Malfunction at the Super Bowl a couple of years back?

An ABC News spokesperson tells TVNewser, “given his controversial live performance on the AMAs we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

Lambert performed as part of GMA’s summer concert series in August, and it was in a “20/20″ interview that Lambert came out, telling Chris Connelly, “I am gay, and I’m very comfortable with it.”

Just found Daughtry’s Poker Face cover. I can’t stop listening to it! While it’s an acoustic version in a predictably acoustic way, it’s beautiful and the rawness about it gets to you.

Also downloaded Lambert’s album and I really liked Sleepwalker, A Loaded Smile and For Your Entertainment, yes but it isn’t the ZOMFG-ness you expect from Adam Lambert who can do no wrong! Still, he’s human and it was a nice debut! And saw the AMA Performance clip! The interview with Hollywood access after the thing totally made up for the tacky vocals and over-the-top-ness (It was shocking and fun and all that but it was all just so tackily executed and all over the place (vocaaals! :O); at least that’s what I felt. I winced a dozen times) because you just can’t not lurrve that guy, can you? (I can’t. haha)

I’m studying for English as I type and ugh, I’m still in the same poem. I’ll just do a bunch of poems and stories out of the lot and skim through Macbeth, I guess. Sociology was horrible so I’m not exactly motivated. T.S. Eliot has his moments though!

Every time I go to sparknotes, I end up taking one of their quizzes or something and forget what I went there for.

Adam Lambert is so not a Madonna. Not yet, anyway. Maybe a Lady GaGa! It’ll be really cute if they get together (Adam and GaGa)! Who knew Kristin Stewart and Rob Pattinson would? That’s just soo annoyingly perfect, like the Taylors (who have Taylor jokes, I just know)..
X will probably drag me to New Moon and I will be unwilling but secretly okay about it because as annoying as anything Twilight is, I will still watch every Twilight movie. It sucks, but doesn’t suck that bad. If it were less hyped, I would probably want to hype it though, of course, Edward is not hot. And the writing is horrible. But it’s fun time pass.

This post is all over the place but I’m in such a mood. K keeps calling L a jerk it’s funny! It’s obvious she won’t call him ever, but she won’t stop talking about him anyway. He is totally (in her words) her Jane Gallagher. I wish we were tested on The Catcher in the Rye. Pfft. Though that would probably ruin the book.

Okay, I’m done. That felt good. Can’t wait for the exams to end already.

Not only did Adam Lambert top the bizarre charts with his outrageous musical performance last night

Not only did Adam Lambert top the bizarre charts with his outrageous musical performance last night at the American Music Awards, a few other “singers” deserve a mention.

Let’s start with Rihanna. This poor girl needs a little more help in the feel- better-category. Her mad house tribute certainly told the tale of a woman mixed up beyond belief. Having been a victim of abuse, she definitely has a long and winding road ahead. Figuring out why and how abuse happens to you is not a frivolous topic, nor is it something to be glossed over or ignored. Her performance on the American Music Awards solidified her journey. I’ve never been a fan of Rihanna, and won’t likely start now considering her “singing” doesn’t even sound like the verb, and her visuals left me running for the door. But having said that, if you like her sound and her troubled interpretations, enjoy.

And then there was Lady Gaga. I have heard that she has a really good voice, so I was ready and willing to listen. I watched past the weird, unbecoming outfits and her breaking of glass, to see her finally get to her piano. Once there she slammed numerous wine bottles against the keyboard, and when that happened I actually heard what sounded like a woman with a decent voice. That sound didn’t last, and I kept asking myself, what is with all the glass breaking and the piano catching fire? I mean really, was that necessary? Perhaps the words of the song made the whole theatrics plausible, but honestly who keeps listening when you’re afraid the whole set may go up in flames? She may have a good voice but it is overshadowed by outrageous and ridiculous events.

Oh well, I guess it was just another night at the AMA’s. Most outrageous winner…..probably still Lambert.

Before his AMA Music Award Performance last night, Adam Lambert said that he wanted to break down the double standard that exists, where male musicians rarely perform in the sexually provocative manner that has become so commonplace for female performers. Lambert didn’t hold back. His act consisted of both male and female dancers, all portrayed in a provacative manner. Lambert led a male dancer around on a leash, put another dancer’s head near his crotch, and ended his performance by kissing a man. Lambert was applauded by some as courageous and left others disgusted.

Although highly provacative, Lambert’s performance, was not unlike the performances I’ve seen of popular female singers, and his kiss was a lot like the Madonna-Brittany Spears kiss.
It’s almost like music awards shows have turned into a contest to see who can be the most sexually outrageous, which isn’t good, considering how many young people admire those who take part. I don’t support the extent of raunchiness on television, but I find the inequality in the way men and women are typically portrayed as even more disturbing. This raises an interesting issue, in today’s world, are men still judged significantly more harshly than women for displays of sexually provocative and homosexual or bisexual behavior, and if so, why?

From my experience, there is an obvious answer to this question. Not to say women go without judgment, but there’s no doubt that men are judged more harshly for dressing in a sexually provocative manner and for homosexual or bisexual behavior. The more interesting and telling questions are why the double standard, what’s its effect, and is it changing?

I find the gay-straight continuum theory the most compelling theory to explain human sexual preference. Based on the continuum theory, only a small percentage of people are 100% gay or 100% straight, that is if we lived in a world without expectation or judgment regarding one’s sexuality, most of us, even we who identify ourselves as completely heterosexual, would have to admit to some homosexual attraction, not matter how slight. Although many heterosexual people are capable of being sexually aroused by the same sex, people often repress homosexual urges and deny their existence to others, because hetereosexual behavior has traditionally been considered more socially and morally acceptable.

Based on this theory, it makes perfect sense that more women are admitedly bisexual. Why? A lot of men think it’s hot, so even if women aren’t otherwise any more inclined towards bisexuality then men, women are much more likely to act on and admit to homosexual attractions. I’ve witnessed plently of primarily heterosexual women admit to or act on bisexual tendancies, to get attention from men; women who wouldn’t have done so, but for the eager male audience. If women start viewing male homoerotic behavior as a turn on, I have little doubt that, with time, at least as many men as women would admit to same sex attraction.

Another major factor is that the vast majority of the sexualized images women see throughout their lives are of women. That being the case, even women can’t help but take part in objectifing other women. Again, with time, I believe that with increased exposure to sexualized images of men, men will be objectified to the same extent. Considering the popularity of Twilight, The New Moon, and Adam Lambert, we’re heading in that direction.

Just as many heterosexuals have some ability to or tendency towards homosexual attraction, even if never admitted to or acted upon, homosexuals may also have some level of attraction to or ability to become sexual aroused by the opposite sex. The reason it’s less common for men to be openly bisexual than women is due to the social stigma attached, men are more likely to repress sexual attraction toward the same sex, unless that attraction is extremely strong, meaning the guy is way over on the gay side of the gay-straight continuum.

Why does the leisbian/gay man double standard exist? Throughout history, those identifying themselves as straight men have held most of the social and political power, and a lot of straight men are not comfortable revealing they have any gay inclination. It’s not seen as macho. Revealing such an inclination would make them feel vulnerable. Because most men are primarily heterosexual, they would rather look at and be with women then men anyway, so acting on a same sex attraction hasn’t been worth the social stigma it carries. Women, who have had less power traditionally, have been the sex more likely to conform to what men want. Because of this, women are more likely to go along with the objectification of other women, then to objectify men.

Obviously not all bi women who act on it are doing it to please men, but if men treated bisexual behavior between girls as disgusting, female bisexual tendancies would be much less commonly acted on. A man’s typical sexual fantasy with lesbians, involves the girls putting on a show for the man and wanting to please him. The idea of two men putting on a show for women is less appealing to straight men, not only because of the social stigma attached, but because it takes away the feeling of being macho and in control.

If the gay-straight continiuum theory holds true, once women allow themselves to enjoy the thought of and site of male homoerotica, male bisexual behavior and female bisexual behavior will be seen in a very similar fashion and the additional stigma associated with male homosexuality will fade away.

What do you think? How much of a role will a person like Adam Lambert, who’s desired by gay men and women alike, have in changing this double standard? It would be interesting to hear from individuals who identify themselves as gay, straight, and bi.

Adam Lambert did his best impression of Britney Spears and Madonna as he stunned the audience and the millions watching the American Music Awards live on ABC last night with his version of “For Your Entertainment.”

I didn’t watch, but apparently Lambert simulated oral sex with a male dancer, kissed keyboardist Tommy Ratliff, grabbed his crotch and finally, flipped off the crowd.

Sounds like I didn’t miss much

So…ABC…I wonder how “Disney Friendly” this performance was!

From the New York Daily News:

A hip-thrusting Lambert continued to raise eyebrows by grasping the head of a male backup dancer and pulling him into his gyrating crotch, a move the ABC network choose to cut audio from for some unknown reason.

The shock-and-awe continued with the singer getting his privates grabbed by a tutu-wearing female dancer, as well as him snapping the bikini area of another female’s costume.

If viewer’s mouths weren’t open in shock yet, Lambert had more to come.

Following a quick recovery from a tumble across some scaffolding, Lambert took a break from singing to forcefully play tonsil hockey with a male keyboardist from his band.

With a look of defiance on his face, the singer proceeded to end his jaw-dropping set with the high-pitched wail he became most known for during his “Idol” days.

Marking his satisfaction from his performance, Lambert tweeted after the show, “All hail freedom of expression and artistic integrity. fans: I adore u.”

From Reuters:

Millions of viewers saw Lambert simulate oral sex with a back-up dancer, plant a passionate kiss on the mouth of a male keyboard player and gesture to the audience with his middle finger during the closing act of the live music awards show.

Broadcaster ABC cut away from one moment in which Lambert rubbed his crotch for its U.S. West Coast version that aired later on Sunday evening. But by then, the singer’s racy rendition of his debut single “For Your Entertainment” was already on its way to becoming the talking point of the show.

“Female performers have been doing this for years — pushing the envelope about sexuality — and the minute a man does it, everybody freaks out,” said Lambert, who publicly declared he was gay after “American Idol” ended in May.

“We’re in 2009; it’s time to take risks, be a little more brave, time to open people’s eyes and if it offends them, then maybe I’m not for them. My goal was not to piss people off, it was to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom,” the singer, 27, told Rolling Stone magazine after Sunday’s show.

Adam Lambert had his debut performance earlier this evening at the AMA’s with his first single, “For Your Entertainment.” The performance featured many surprises from kisses to even Lambert falling on stage. Although the performance featured a Lambert and a male kiss, the kiss was censored in the West Coast.

I was waiting all night for Adam Lambert’s performance on the American Music Awards this evening. I couldn’t wait, and the announcer kept saying things that made me want to see it even more. I had to find ways to keep entertaining myself through most of the AMAs, btu finally, the moment came. IT WAS GLAMBERT TIME.

I shooed my mom out of the room, turned up the tv, and turned off the lights so I could get a moer movie-like effect on my awesome LCD flat screen tv. The performance began.

Right off the bat, I could tell this was about to be one of the sexiest and most provocative performances of all time. I mean, come on. It’s fucking Adam Lambert. Has he ever been one to disappoint?

As the performance went on, all I could do was watch in amazement as his dancers groped him, and he groped them back, S&M clad people spinning around him wildly, fake blow jobs onstage. My jaw hit the floor. I was in shock. The moment the performance ended, I ran to my bathroom. Yeah, I think you can figure out what happened there. If you can’t, you’re a fucking dumbass and you should go back to 9th grade where they teach you all about sex.

Adam Lambert, you are a fucking God not only of music, but of sex as well. I’ve never felt more sexually satisfied. Thank you, dear Glambert. I shall look forward to your future performances.
