<p>Vidim oglas, na katerem skačejo neke žogice, na njem pa piše nekako takole: &#8220;<strong>Pridruži se invaziji</strong><strong>!</strong>&#8221; Pravzaprav čisto luštkan bannerček.</p>
<p>Spet me premaga poklicna deformacija in, logično, kliknem:) Potem pa hladen tuš, ki doživim zelo pogosto ko klikam slovenske bannerje.</p>
<p>Pridem na sajt, ki ga skoraj da ne razumem (<strong>n</strong><strong>obenih usmeritev, nobene razlage, zakaj se gre, kaj moram narediti</strong>). Pristanem namreč <a href="http://www.hopperinvasion.com/" target="_blank">tukaj</a>. Še slikica:</p>

<p>Res ne vem, kaj so razmišljali, ko so tale page določili kot landing za tisti banner.</p>
<p>Vseeno se potrudim in klikam naprej (tokrat klikam naprej zato, da naberem material za tale post:)). Izberem Slovenijo iz liste evropskih držav. Pristanem <a href="http://www.sonyericsson.com/hopperinvasion/main.aspx?cc=si&#38;lc=sl" target="_blank">tukaj</a>:</p>

<p>Tukaj bi morala pristati že takoj, ko sem kliknila na banner. Čeprav ima tudi ta page ogrooooomno pomankljivosti. Najbolj očitne so:</p>

<li><strong>Preveliko CTA-jev </strong>(1. oglej si invazijo; 2. Objavi page na social sajtih; 3. Snemi melodijo za telefon; 4. Ustvari svojega spacehopperja; 5. Oglej si že ustvarjene hopsice)</li>
<li>Ni jasno, <strong>kaj me čaka, potem ko ustvarim svojo &#8220;hopsico&#8221;</strong> (Zakaj naj se sploh lotim ustvarjanja te hopsice? Gre za nagradno igro? Dobim kaj v zameno zato, ker ustvarim svojo hopsico?&#8230;)</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Predpostavljam da je cilj strani to, da user na page-u nekaj ustvari. Zato kliknem &#8220;Ustvarite svojega Spacehopperja&#8221;.</strong> Odpre se flash tool s katerim lahko naredim tega skakača po svojih merilih. Ampak še vedno pa ne vem, v čem je fora! Zakaj naj to počnem? Izgleda takole:</p>

<p>Zdaj vidim, da je landing page tistega bannerja pravzaprav tale page. Ampak preden se prebijemo do tukaj, <strong>moramo čez dve OGROMNI oviri </strong>(prvi dve sliki zgoraj). Samo ugibam lahko, <strong>koliko obiskovalcev se je preko klika na banner prebilo do tukaj</strong>. Sem prepričana da bore malo.</p>
<p>Že res da gre za Ericssonovo kampanjo, ampak come on! To je dobesedno metanje denarja v zrak!</p>
<p>Preklikam ta flash in na koncu ustvarim svojega hopperja samo zato, da vidim, ali so morda na koncu razkrili skrivnost? So napisali, za kaj se gre? Poglejmo:</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Everyone uses a search engine when they&#8217;re looking for content on the web. <a href="http://www.comscore.com/Press_Events/Press_Releases/2009/8/Global_Search_Market_Draws_More_than_100_Billion_Searches_per_Month/(language)/eng-US" target="_blank">Studies show</a> that Google drives online searches, with over 60% of searches in July 2009.  Google works on bringing users relevant results to match what they&#8217;re looking for. But there&#8217;s 2 parts to search engine results: sponsored links and organic results. Sponsored links are paid for by the advertiser, but how does it work?</p>
<p>Advertisers create ads that contain information about their site, linked to keywords that they&#8217;ve bid on. Recently, Google has increased choice and relevancy to users by giving advertisers the option to include <a href="http://adwords.blogspot.com/2009/11/increasing-choice-and-relevancy-in.html" target="_blank">Ad Sitelinks</a>, which gives users more options of where to go, and gives advertisers the ability to create more relevant ads with multiple purposes, driving traffic to different landing pages. <a href="http://adwords.blogspot.com/2009/11/increasing-choice-and-relevancy-in.html" target="_blank">Inside AdWords</a> gives a good example of <a href="http://www.priceline.com">Priceline.com</a>, shown below:</p>

<p>Microsoft recently introduced their new search engine, <a href="http://www.bing.com">Bing</a>, which also offers paid search engine advertising, called AdCenter. A <a href="http://advertising.microsoft.com/research/CPC-Logic" target="_blank">case study</a> provided by Microsoft explains how CPC Logic increased conversions and traffic for their products and improved their demographic targeting using Microsoft&#8217;s paid advertising.</p>
<p>Using paid advertising on search engines allows you to advertise directly to people who are searching for your product. Your ads appear when someone searches for your keywords. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad, but even when it&#8217;s not clicked on, the impressions are still there.</p>
<p><a href="http://video.google.ca/videosearch?hl=en&#38;q=search%20engine%20advertising&#38;um=1&#38;ie=UTF-8&#38;sa=N&#38;tab=wv#q=adwords&#38;hl=en&#38;view=2&#38;emb=0" target="_blank">Hal Varian</a>, Google&#8217;s Chief Economist, explains how Google&#8217;s Ad Auction works in the video below. He describes how google determines relevancy, and how the millions of users help them to determine which ads are quality ads. Google uses CTR (click-through-rate), relevancy, and the quality of the landing page to determine the overall quality of the ad. Users drive the CTR, which is the number of users who clicked on the ad in comparison to the number of impressions.</p>

<li><strong>Bring me to the right page</strong><br />
Whether clicking on the ads or in the search results, you want to be taken directly to where it says it takes you. Here, it is recommended that the title of the page(on the top of the browser) and the main heading of the page would correspond. Also, point out what are the selling points: sale price, special price, delivery options, stock, etc.</li>
<li><strong>Make your homepage useful</strong><br />
The homepage is like the front of the shop: should be clear, shows who you are and what you sell. Here, it is recommended to show info / logo of the company, about us, the optimal layout, some promoted products, and a good menu for people to continue.</li>
<li><strong>Help me navigate</strong><br />
Clean layout with visible categories, main menu &#8211; and a solid structure(visible) of the website. And the terms should be easy to understand(not technical or jargon).</li>
<li><strong>Give me the right results when I search</strong><br />
Many times there&#8217;s a need to search a certain product/model, so a good search engine is very useful. And make it visible + advanced searches available. It is also recommended to have a comparing of the listings, sorting of the listings, categorizing&#8230;</li>
<li><strong>Display groups of products clearly</strong><br />
Get the right combination of images, prices and description text &#8211; which should work together with the layout so that the visitor gets the main points. Comparison among products/categories and a grouping/categorizing of the items helps.</li>
<li><strong>Give me the product details I need</strong><br />
List/summarize the key/main details about the products, including the price. Images: clear, large, zoom-able, more angles on them. Call to action button: either a Buy Now or More details/Get a quote.</li>
<li><strong>Make registration optional</strong><br />
Many customers don&#8217;t want to register AGAIN for ANOTHER website &#8211; it&#8217;s good to offer them the option of registering, post-sale. And if registration is mandatory, it should be easy(not too many steps) and the benefits of registering should be underlined.</li>
<li><strong>Make it easy to buy or enquire</strong><br />
No one likes filling in form after form: don&#8217;t ask for too many details, unnecessary ones, show the registration/enquiry progress bar, help with auto-fill the form(based on his previous entered-in info), and&#8230; no adds on that page!</li>
<li><strong>Reassure me</strong><br />
Transparent about cancellations and returns, prices and VAT, delivery and stock, and&#8230;. what happens now, after he purchased something! Also: offer security.</li>
<li><strong>Find this useful? Let me help!</strong><br />
Ask for feedback from customers &#8211; and offer them help in their decision. There needs to be a mutual help: the online store offering good info + helpful links, and the customer having a way to give a feedback.</li>

I have started working on a landing page for my site. Now, every page could be considered a landing page for your site, but THIS landing page will be special. How so? Here are the key elements of a great landing page:<br />
• <strong>Simple</strong>: Don’t distract the viewer by having a large number of menu items to the side. You want them to focus on the reason you brought them to that landing page. You don’t want to distract the viewer from your real message with other links nearby. I’ve hidden mine completely on my landing page. The only people can click is “home,” “contact,” “FAQ,” and “RSS.”<br />
• <strong>Offer something for FREE</strong>. An Ebook, a newsletter, a free item from your store for entering a contest. This should be above the “fold” on the page. What does that mean? You want to make sure the person can see the button before they have to scroll down. If there is no offer to view above the fold they are unlikely to scroll.<br />
• <strong>Ask the person for minimal information</strong>. I would recommend just an email address. The more people have to enter the more likely they are to exit or hit the back button.<br />
• <strong>Give the person a “call to action.”</strong> You are asking the viewer to take action… click or submit. Calls of action could be submitting their email address, clicking for a coupon code, or access to a PDF of a relevant article.<br />
• <strong>Short and to the point:</strong><br />
o The person you brought here might have a quick trigger finger for the back button so you want to give them as little to process as possible.<br />
o Don’t ramble on and on because depending on the audience you have brought there they might not be interested in reading on a website they’ve never heard of until 5 seconds prior.<br />
o Bullet points and bold lettering are great for keeping your points short. They can easily see the bullet points and bold type. They don’t have to read through a long line of sentence(s).<br />
• <strong>Stay on point</strong>: If the customer came in because they entered a search term of free marketing ebook, make sure you offer them a free marketing ebook.<br />
• <strong>Nice layout and design</strong>: You want to look professional with this page as it could make or break you in terms of your click-thru rate.</p>
<p>There are quite a few examples of <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=landing+page+example&#38;sourceid=navclient-ff&#38;ie=UTF-8&#38;rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS305US306">Landing Pages</a> on the internet. I’d recommend looking at a bunch of them then take a stab at your own.</p>
<p>Do some testing. Once you’ve done your landing page, create another one that is only slightly different (such as a different heading) and see which one customers prefer (this based on the click-thru rate).<br />

<p>In tough economic times many business owners tend to scale back on their marketing and advertising budget. However, research shows that a downturn creates opportunity to accelerate the growth of your business faster than your competitors. Now is the time to step up your marketing efforts—at least in quality if not quantity and get the most out of your marketing and advertising dollars. When the economy has stabilized, you’ll be in a stronger, more prominent position.</p>

<h3>TIP #1: Reduce the Number of Keywords Per Ad Campaign</h3>
<p>Many first time AdWords users try Google&#8217;s keyword tool and put a large string of keywords in an ad campaign. This works against you and drives your costs up. You want to tighten the focus of your ad to match a very small number of keywords. </p>
<p>When you tighten your ad&#8217;s focus and reduce the number of keywords per ad, a larger percentage of the people viewing the ad will click on it. Google likes that and rewards you by showing your ad more often. Plus your costs per click will go down.</p>
<h3>TIP # 2: Use Keyword Phrase Matching.</h3>
<p>Put the keyword phrases you bid on in quotes.  This tells Google to only show your ads when people type your phrase in a search. You will get higher click through rates and more qualified people visiting your website using this tip.</p>
<p>COMMENT: This tip is only for people who don&#8217;t want to spend a bunch of time working with AdWords. The experts will tell you something different. But they&#8217;re talking to people who want to &#8220;scientifically&#8221; dive into the details of AdWords. This is for people who want quick results without spending hours analyzing your AdWords campaigns. </p>
<h3>TIP # 3: Use Negative Keywords.</h3>
<p>Even if you use the quote technique above, sometimes Google shows your ad to people searching for something that isn&#8217;t right for you. Here&#8217;s an example.</p>
<p>One of my clients sells printers to businesses. They don&#8217;t want people looking for inkjet printers going to their website. So they put the minus sign in front of keywords relating to inkjet printers in their AdWords campaign.</p>
<h3>TIP # 4: Create a Separate Ad Campaign for Google&#8217;s Content Network and a Separate Ad Campaign for Google&#8217;s Search Network.</h3>
<p>In your AdWords campaign settings you&#8217;re able to choose whether you want your campaigns to just be on the search engines or on other websites where Google ads are shown. When you set-up separate campaigns for just the search engine network and one for their content network, you&#8217;re able to track your results better.</p>
<h3>TIP # 5: Create Landing Pages for Each AdWords Ad Group.</h3>
<p>When people click on your link, you want whatever is on your web page to match the ad they clicked. If your ad says, &#8220;imported virgin olive oil,&#8221; your landing page needs to talk about &#8220;imported virgin olive oil.&#8221; There are exceptions to this rule. But you have only a few seconds to keep their attention. If you send them to your website&#8217;s home page and the link to &#8220;imported virgin olive oil&#8221; isn&#8217;t easy to find, then your prospects will leave your website and go to your competitors&#8217; websites.</p>
<h3>TIP # 6: Split Test Your Ads</h3>
<p>Google AdWords makes it easy to test one ad against another. You&#8217;ll find one ad will bring you a lot more quality leads versus another ad. You&#8217;re able to test several against each other until you find your winning ad.</p>
<h3>TIP # 7: Use Conversion Tracking</h3>
<p>Google helps you track how many people actually buy something or request information from each ad. All you do is copy and paste their tracking code on a &#8220;Thank You&#8221; page. &#8221;Thank You&#8221; pages are the web pages shown after someone orders or after someone completes an online form. This is extremely easy for your web master to do for you. It only takes a couple of minutes to set-up. With this tracking feature installed you’re able to known which ads work and which ads don&#8217;t. Then stop the bad ads and lower your cost per new customer.</p>
<h3>Why These Tips Are So Effective: Google AdWords Plays Favorites</h3>
<p>Here&#8217;s the big secret. Google AdWords likes the ads that get the most clicks best. The ads that get more clicks are shown more often. The ads that get more clicks get ranked higher. The ads that get more clicks cost less per click. Here&#8217;s an example. An ad with a $2 bid-per-click that gets clicked 50 times out of every 100 views will get higher placement on Google than an ad for the same keyword with the same $2 bid but only getting clicked 25 times out of every 100 views.</p>
<p><strong>Google charges you less if you&#8217;re getting a better &#8220;click thru rate&#8221; than your competition.</strong></p>
<p>The reason? The ad that gets clicked more often serves their customers better. Plus Google makes more money on ads that get more clicks (even if they charge less per click).</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve been putting off advertising with Google AdWords, now&#8217;s the time to get started. If you&#8217;ve tried AdWords before, but got burned, it&#8217;s time to start again. You&#8217;ll be glad you did. </p>

<p><em> </em>It is the list of emails who are literally interested in your services.</p>
<p><strong>3. 	Subject Line</strong><br />
The subject line that one uses must be eye catchy! Again there are certain things to keep in mind:</p>

</ul>
<p><em> </em>A subject line should always be short, so that the viewer can catch at one sight.<em><br />

</ul>
<p>The reason behind choosing the right words is that there are certain words that can lead to spam.</p>
<p><strong>4. Attach an Unsubscribe link</strong><br />
Unsubscribe link lets the viewer with an option asking to stop sending emails. As following the law this is really meant to be mandatory.</p>
<p><strong>5. Landing Page</strong><br />
A Landing page is the one that drags the viewer from the email by providing a clickable link which is linked to the Landing Page.</p>
