Recently, I was out on the North Shore with some friends and they suggested to visit the Bluff in Kings Park. I’ve never been and boy was it beautiful! i think of you in colors, crisp, smeared. in birds chirping a gentle screech like sour candies, hard and small. round. you crackle between my teeth, a paper-thin glass. ~ i reach to you with pitted landscape. it rolls and seeks, stretching and succumbing to apples become key limes become an unexpected trickle becomes streams. ~ we are turtles, i think. we cannot speak for seeking sweetgrass and tulips. ~ #green #turtles #keylime #candy #sour #poem #birds #tongue #landscape #sweetgrass
After Star Trek last night today it was in to darkness. Or so it seemed like this morning, with the whole village wrapped in misty loveliness. Nothing for it then but to set off into the forest and try and capture some of it. I like it. Finding the Tyndall-Bruce memorial was quite tricky, in fact if I hadn’t been up there before, We’d never have found it in the mist.
Today I only had time for a quick sketch. While painting it, I thought about how clouds should be painted in perspective as much as anything in the landscape ( skyscape). Hope to develop these clouds further! Early summer clouds in the Caffarella Valley with a view of the Alban Hills.
I longed for the sun and heat and often we run away to relax by the water and forests. I also opposite thoughts: are lost in a maze too because I want to travel far away, would experience more but is limited for several reasons and are sometimes frustrated and wondering what to do next. Actually, I enjoy most of the water. I love the water. OK, we do not live by the sea, which I would love to live in, but we live by the big river and large lake and whatever we go find lakes.
