I just remembered today about some pics I came across of Suge Knight, Ja Rule, Vanilla Ice and Tommy Lee in the Foundation Room club in the Manadalay Bay in Las Vegas.  They look like they are all having fun!  Good to see them all getting along well!!!!

Nicolai Ouroussof has written an intelligently thoughtful article entitled “The Lessons of Las Vegas Still Hold Surprises” in the Design Review section of The New York Times (online) on the exhibition entitled “What We Learned: The Yale Las Vegas Studio and the Work of Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates” at the Yale School of Architecture Gallery through Feb. 5, which looks at the extensive research the architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown did in Las Vegas beginning in 1968.  Venturi’s and Scott Brown’s views are fascinating in themselves, and the exhibition offers yet another dimension, if not time-warp, and, honestly, shivers, just thinking how much things have changed since the architects’ 1968 observations.

Happy New Year!

Not only is this the end of the year, but it is the end of a decade and I just want to end it in style.  I’ve been doing quite a bit these past few months to get things done before the decade is over.  I’ve also been writing down some of my milestones from this decade.  It is pretty crazy to think about where I was in 2000 and 10 years later look at myself and see what I’ve become.  Sexually I have grown quite a bit for sure.  Why don’t you come and share some time with me as I tell you about the decade that changed me.

As I sat waiting for my husband to come back from his seminar I wrote my memoirs for the last decade.  It sure made me horny and I couldn’t resist.  Come in to see how I ended the decade in style.

Since I am always saying cruel and unusual things to bring people down, I thought I might end the year on a more positive note, by praising someone for doing something good.  It is rare that I compliment people or give them their propers for a job well-done, particuarly black people, especially those of the hip hop variety.  Occasionally, however, my arrogant self-righteousness swells to such great heights that I am ruptured by the sharpness of my own tongue, thus bringing me back to earth for a few seconds, before I start swelling up again.

At any rate, I have to give credit where credit is due to Mr. Sean “Diddy,” “Puffy, “Puff,” “Puff Daddy,” “P. Diddy,” “Whatever You Are Calling Yourself” Coombs.  He has teamed up with Ciroc Vodka company to offer drunks and alcoholics a ride home this New Year’s Eve.  Although I do not drink and don’t like Puffy, Diddy, Puff, whateves, I have to say this is a really good thing going on here.

He has offered to be your designated driver this New Year by offering debit cards and vouchers for free cab rides home in New York City and Las Vegas.  You can get a $15 debit card good for use on participating taxis and limousines in both cities. In New York you can also get a free one-way subway voucher.  Street teams will be handing out these cards in New York between 8PM and 11PM New Year’s Eve and in Las Vegas you can get them at various distribution points.

I know it’s probably a publicity stunt, some marketing effort, but I’m willing to overlook that because he is using his celebrity for something that is actually real and important.  Not saying the whales off the coast of … wherever… aren’t important or the starving children in Ethernopia, but I’m tired of celebrities going overseas to solve world hunger when we have so many problems right here in America.  Why battle the courts in Malawi for one moon-eyed infant whose father doesn’t even want to give her up when you could help these American children right here who are bombarded with “you suck” everyday because they see people who have so much more then they do.  Everybody in Malawi is poor; the poor orphan in America feels it even worse when he goes to school with kids who are pushed around in Mercedes baby carriages.

Also, very few black celebrities, besides Oprah, ever do anything for anybody.  I’m sure there are some, but what black celebrity do you know that’s using his fame and fortune for a cause?  I’m really thinking, but I can’t come up with one.  If you know, be sure to inform me.  At any rate, Puff Puff is amazingly popular.  He is a well-known face all across the world.  He is also setting a better example to young black men around here.  I like that he has cleaned himself up from just some rapper to an entrepreneur.  Now he is an entrepereneur who is actually doing something worthwhile with all that money, power and respect he’s garnered over the years.  I have never really liked Mr. Puff, but I think the world wouldn’t be as horrible a place if it were a little more P. Diddy and a lot less Lil Wayne. 

Drunk driving is a big problem in the United States.  Last year, 37% of all driving accidents had to do with alcohol.  On average, one person dies every 45 minutes because of an alcohol-related accident.  Almost 2 million people are arrested every year for drunk driving, and those who are being arrested for the first time have already driven drunk at least 87 times before that, bringing the national average of drunk driving occurences (without accidents, arrests, etc) to 159 million per year.  So basically every time you get out on the road, somebody around you is drunk.

I hate drunk driving; I hate people who drive drunk, tipsy, slightly woozie, whatever.  I hate people who say, “I drive better when I’m drunk,” or “I never have a problem driving drunk.”  People are too lazy, too cheap, too whatever to find another way home after a night of drinking.  What makes me so mad is that people spend hours trying to figure out what to wear for a night of partying, but don’t even give a thought to, “How will I get home?”  Most people don’t even think drinking and driving is all that serious, until it happens to them or someone they know.

I don’t know anybody that’s been killed by a drunk driver, thankfully.  I’ve never been in an alcohol related crash, and I hope I’m not ever.

Since I will be partying in Vegas this year, I appreciate Mr. Diddy for giving out these free debit cards to keep alcohol-soused losers from plowing into me while I dance my life away on Las Vegas Boulevard.  The sad part is that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t get him to drink (no pun intended).  Most people think, “How will I get my car in the morning?” instead of “What will do I when I kill someone?”

Mr. Puffy, you did good on this one.  Even if you just wanted to throw your name out there, you had the good business acumen to see that this is something that actually makes sense and it might save someone’s life.  Thank you for being a smart black man and at least knowing how to use your celebrity for something that isn’t lame.  Please continue to do more things like this, and talk to your fellow black celebrities and let them know they should do it too.

And not in Cambodia, but here.

In the winter of 1965, writer Gay Talese arrived in Los Angeles with an assignment from Esquire to profile Frank Sinatra. The legendary singer was approaching fifty, under the weather, out of sorts, and unwilling to be interviewed. So Talese remained in L.A., hoping Sinatra might recover and reconsider, and he began talking to many of the people around Sinatra — his friends, his associates, his family, his countless hangers-on — and observing the man himself wherever he could. The result, “Frank Sinatra Has a Cold,” ran in April 1966 and became one of the most celebrated magazine stories ever published, a pioneering example of what came to be called New Journalism — a work of rigorously faithful fact enlivened with the kind of vivid storytelling that had previously been reserved for fiction. The piece conjures a deeply rich portrait of one of the era’s most guarded figures and tells a larger story about entertainment, celebrity, and America itself. Frank Sinatra, holding a glass of bourbon in one hand and a cigarette in the other, stood in a dark corner of the bar between two attractive but fading blondes who sat waiting for him to say something. But he said nothing; he had been silent during much of the evening, except now in this private club in Beverly Hills he seemed even more distant, staring out through the smoke and semidarkness into a large room beyond the bar where dozens of young couples sat huddled around small tables or twisted in the center of the floor to the clamorous clang of folk-rock music blaring from the stereo. The two blondes knew, as did Sinatra’s four male friends who stood nearby, that it was a bad idea to force conversation upon him when he was in this mood of sullen silence, a mood that had hardly been uncommon during this first week of November, a month before his fiftieth birthday.

Sinatra had been working in a film that he now disliked, could not wait to finish; he was tired of all the publicity attached to his dating the twenty-year-old Mia Farrow, who was not in sight tonight; he was angry that a CBS television documentary of his life, to be shown in two weeks, was reportedly prying into his privacy, even speculating on his possible friendship with Mafia leaders; he was worried about his starring role in an hour-long NBC show entitled Sinatra — A Man and His Music, which would require that he sing eighteen songs with a voice that at this particular moment, just a few nights before the taping was to begin, was weak and sore and uncertain. Sinatra was ill. He was the victim of an ailment so common that most people would consider it trivial. But when it gets to Sinatra it can plunge him into a state of anguish, deep depression, panic, even rage. Frank Sinatra had a cold.

Sinatra with a cold is Picasso without paint, Ferrari without fuel — only worse. For the common cold robs Sinatra of that uninsurable jewel, his voice, cutting into the core of his confidence, and it affects not only his own psyche but also seems to cause a kind of psychosomatic nasal drip within dozens of people who work for him, drink with him, love him, depend on him for their own welfare and stability. A Sinatra with a cold can, in a small way, send vibrations through the entertainment industry and beyond as surely as a President of the United States, suddenly sick, can shake the national economy.

The two blondes, who seemed to be in their middle thirties, were preened and polished, their matured bodies softly molded within tight dark suits. They sat, legs crossed, perched on the high bar stools. They listened to the music. Then one of them pulled out a Kent and Sinatra quickly placed his gold lighter under it and she held his hand, looked at his fingers: they were nubby and raw, and the pinkies protruded, being so stiff from arthritis that he could barely bend them. He was, as usual, immaculately dressed. He wore an oxford-grey suit with a vest, a suit conservatively cut on the outside but trimmed with flamboyant silk within; his shoes, British, seemed to be shined even on the bottom of the soles. He also wore, as everybody seemed to know, a remarkably convincing black hairpiece, one of sixty that he owns, most of them under the care of an inconspicuous little grey-haired lady who, holding his hair in a tiny satchel, follows him around whenever he performs. She earns $400 a week. The most distinguishing thing about Sinatra’s face are his eyes, clear blue and alert, eyes that within seconds can go cold with anger, or glow with affection, or, as now, reflect a vague detachment that keeps his friends silent and distant.

The countdown has begun for the yearly Adult Entertainment Expo and the AVN Awards 2010.  The award show has begun its heavy promotion on social site, Twitter.  The venue for the awards show has been relocated to The Palms Resort.  The change has promised for a more intimate award show rather than the large and obtrusive Mandalay Bay experience.  The new and revamped show promises a more lavish and VIP experience for the red carpet stars of the night.  In ten days, Las Vegas will feel the shaft of the adult industry.  Congratulations to all the nominees of 2010 and a special shout out to Anabolic Productions, Ivan, Kristina Rose, New Sensations, and Lee Roy Myers. It has been a while and after a respite of sorts to try and clear my head of the stress and craziness of the health care bill that is still yet to be determined. Given the partisan, closed door, back alley approach of progressives in the house and senate, some form of a bill is coming into play. That bill in its original form has been stripped down with the loss of a public option (preference of the house), and there are some restriction on the Abortion issue, however when it comes down to it, this bill is going to fanagle a means of paying for government supported abortions, in spite of what progressive liberals are saying.

The bottom line is there needs to be a complete overhaul of the house and the senate. It could happen this year. What needs to happen is for the energy behind those who supported the Tea Parties, and the 912 Project to reharness their energy and turn on the turbines full throttle and at extreme heat to get out the vote. Nancy Pelosi must be voted out of her speakership, and Harry Reid needs to be booted out of Washington and sent back to Searchlight, Nevada outside of the Las Vegas metro area in the sticks where he belongs.

Meanwhile, the Obama Administration continues to show lackluster leadership and weakness on the economy, jobs, and national security. The President in his focus to get health care reform passed has failed in so many other areas. With the latest terrorist plot, not an alleged terrorist plot on Christmas Day, the White House failed to offer a quick response in condemning the situation. The Homeland Security Secretary Napalotano bobbled the message on Sunday, and acknowledged national security failure on Monday after she was caught trying to shift and skirt a direct answer on whether the system and the administration had failed.

The past few days has been a massive national security failure on the part of the President Obama and his administraion. Mr. Obama’s attempts to negotiate and appease foreign leaders in to making the United States a kinder and gentler nation has surfaced the killer instinct of terrorists to test the United States and its resolve. In the comments made by one pundit, it is better to be respected by the world than liked. Political Correctness run amock has put the United States into the classification of being weak on National Security while in the process baiting terrorists to keep on poking like allowing the bully in the school yard to keep up the antics because the one being poked in unwilling to defend and throw a punch because it would reflect badly on the persona.

It is time to fight back and kick butt on these terrorists be they in Yeman, Pakistan, or Afghanistan. It is time for common sense to be brought back to Washington with God fearing, right thinking conservatives who will not play games and get this country back on track with tax cuts, and jobs for many Americans who are unemployed. Political Correctness has had its 15 minutes on stage, and that time slot has worn out its welcome.

Let Freedom Ring and remove the dead weight out of the house and senate in 2010 in order to restore America to be a democracy of the people, by the people and for the people.

So, it has become a tradition for my husband and I to vacation in Vegas for Christmas. This year was especially memorable because I was able to meet a couple of my internet girlfriends who I befriended on the Skarsgardnews.com site. I know I’m a grown ass woman and shouldn’t have a crush on actor Alexander Skarsgard but that is beside the point. The real point is that I’ve met a lot of wonderful woman through that fan site and was able to connect with them and form friendships.

I met two lovely ladies this past weekend. One from Montreal, Canada and the other from Austin, Texas. It was nice to finally meet some of my internet friends and share drinks and experiences. We went to the Criss Angel show, checked out the Thunder From Down Under, and did some shopping, dancing and dinner. It was an awesome and surreal experience, the melding of my virtual and real life, and I feel blessed to have such wonderful women come into my life. I think it’s also nice to know that not everyone out there is a serial killer or psycho on the internet.

City Center - Las Vegas

 This is where I spent sometime vacationing during this winter break. Although I was impressed with the overall construct of such places as Mandarin and “Besos” (Eva Longoria-Parkers New restaurant)  - if you’re a native to Vegas ,as I am, the inside of Aria was slightly disappointing considering all the media attention it received.

Well the year’s very nearly over.  Is it just me, or does this decade seem the shortest decade ever?  It seems only yesterday that we celebrated the Millenium.  It’s frightening how life is galloping on, and the pace seems more and more frantic the older I get.

There is a feeling of winding down as the year draws to a close, only to be fired up for a brief time , starting on 1st January 2010.  As usual, I shall start the year with good intentions , – I might even keep to my resolutions this time –  I can only hope.

Las Vegas

There are new  ideas are planned for my blog next year and there is a possibility of a music blog that my husband and I have been working on.  Not sure how that is going to work out yet, still playing with different formats.  This year has been the usual mixture of highs and lows, one of the highs being the Las Vegas wedding, and there have been quite a few lows, which I won’t go into:  suffice to say, I shall be glad to celebrate  2010, though it shall be with some trepidation because at the end of it I shall be……..lets just say older.

Last year the fireworks sucked here in Vegas because they took them off the hotel and casino rooftops. Everyone complained and the powers that be woke up.

Well, this year they should be back to normal as our Mayor Oscar Goodman and everyone agreed they are going back on the rooftops this year.

You don’t even have to be on the strip to see them and sometimes you may even be getting a better view of the overall fireworks being just a bit off the strip.

So I had a reader ask “Can you write what you are feeling” and Yes I believe I can;

Los Angeles although it has been a short time since I arrived is beginning to feel like home, in fact that is exactly what it feels like. For some reason everything here, the people, atmosphere, life feels right. Learning at this amazing school has deepened my love and understanding of a career which I now and am convinced is the right one for me.

There is mixed emotions due to the fact that in a mere 44 days I board a plane to return to Adelaide, South Australia and yes there are many people I so am looking forward to seeing, though as bad as it may sound, I shudder at the thought of having to stay there again for too long, not because of anything other than the fact that if you want survive in this industry you need to go to where the work is, there is none other than the work you create for yourself, which I will do when I get back. To be consumed and surrounded by it is to be in another state, another country, and that is why I hope upon returning that I don’t get stuck in a rut where 3 years pass by and I have not progressed any further then the dreams in my mind.

It is a hard thought to think I will have to say goodbye to a place which is becoming a home, friends who I will have for a life time, but that’s okay because I have the same across the other side of the world and am content in the thought that I will be in both places like a yo yo for many years to come.

I do love it here, I wish everyone could experience what I have so far, though I love places, family and friends back home, so the only thing to do now live up, experience the next 44 days, which will see me in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York in the coming weeks, work harder than ever before and get back here again soon…

NASCAR: 

  The big NASCAR News is the Budwiser Shootout reformat.  Again.  Since the Manufacturer system failed, because there are only 3 cars who run for Dodge left.  Now, the format even more contrived.  All drivers who made the Chase, all drivers who have won a race at Daytona and have attempted a race in the last three years, Past Series Champions, past Budwiser Shootout winners, and the current Rookie of the Year.  So, in all, up to 28 cars, depending if a Derrick Cope, John Andretti, Terry Labonte, Sterling Marlin, and Ken Shrader get a ride.  I really enjoyed the Bud Shootout when it was Pole based, it was cool, and it gave some of the underdog drivers who won a pole a chance to get some of the spotlight in Daytona.  Last years format was dumb, and this years is insane.  Over half the field will be here, it’s basically just another race!  If I were a team owner and my driver wasn’t in the race, I’d be sending a ton of hate mail to Daytona, since pretty much EVERYONE IS IN!! I don’t get the point to this at all, why not just add another points race and take this one out, since the Shootout is so out of control. 

  Kyle Busch is rumored to have resigned, or be about to resign with Gibbs.  Really, Busch had no choice.  His problem is he’s burned a lot of bridges in the Hendrick and Roush camp, and Childress is in a major slump, so where would he go?  Of course he’ll get a ton of money from Gibbs, but probably not as much as if he had better options. 

  The Kentucky Speedway lawsuit ended.  So, that means that SMI will do whatever it takes to get a cup race for 2011, and of course they also want Vegas to get a second race.  ISC also wants to add a date to Kansas for the 2011 season.  This is NOT GOOD!  The last thing NASCAR needs is another 1.5 cookie cutter.  The hope has to be that Kentucky’s date comes from Atlanta, and that Kansas’s comes from Fontana, but rumor has it Martinsville will be where Kansas’s comes from.  The Kansas thing is insane, I don’t think they sell out now, how are they going to sell out 2 dates?!  I stick by what I said earlier, 1 date per track except Daytona and Bristol, 34 races at 32 tracks, and ratings will go up. 

IRL: 

  Brazil is still not confirmed. 1 month since Sao Pablo was confirmed, and the location would be confirmed within a week.  It’s been a month.

  Robin Miller had something interesting in his Mailbag, he said that Indycar won’t run Road Atlanta because it’s too fast, at least that’s there excuse.  That is insane!  Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring, and Cleveland need to be put in place of Mid Ohio, St Pete, Infenion, and Barber!!!!! 

F1: Where the real news was.

  The good news is USF1 has a website up.  Finally.  The bad news is this http://formula-one.speedtv.com/article/f1-usf1-car-also-designed-without-wind-tunnel/.  Seriously, they designed it without a wind tunnel. And the Windshear Windtunnel was one of the biggest selling points of the team when it was announced.  Peter did say they would test the actual car in the tunnel, and that they didn’t build any model car, they’ll just build an actual car based off a computer model.  So, wow, I think Lotus will outrun these idiots!!!!  So, this team might actually make the Grid, although if they do, they’ll be lucky to ever score points with the new system!

Sim Racing:

  So I’ve finally got Forza 3 for the X-Box360.  I’ll review it latter after I’ve progressed far enough to do the enduro races.  But, I’ll say its great, and the graphics are amazing.  Also, why the F*ck are Road America, Road Atlanta, and Sebring not Indycar tracks?  

General:  I’ll try and post a year review, a look forward into next year, and a New Years Resolutions soon, but I’m not completely certain.

It’s been awhile since the ditzy, aging socialite Paris Hilton has been in the news.   Over the weekend, however, Hilton reportedly got hitched in Las Vegas at the iconic Little Church of the West wedding chapel. 

Just don’t get all excited- it was all staged for publicity during a mock wedding.  The faux groom was Piers Morgan, from “Britain’s Got Talent.”

Hilton — and her revolting rat-looking dog — were dressed in white for the occasion. And there were plenty of witnesses- all dressed as Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.

The wedding will air Jan. 2 on VH1’s “Piers Morgan” show.

It’s amazing how quickly a year passes.  In the blink of an eye, it’s suddenly that time of year when many businesses and corporations start the scramble to create a marketing plan for the New Year.  The SmartBrand team is always amazed at the fact that many companies, both large and small, simply don’t have a marketing plan in place, and often no means to measure their efforts and investment throughout the year ahead.

First and foremost, you must define your brand and its unique values and positioning in the market place.  This can take many forms, but we often use the “tried and true” SWOT analysis that reviews the company or product’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Once you have a solid understanding of your current positioning and values, it’s time to lay out some strategic and tactical plans to carry you through the year.

Step 1: Choose Your Strategic Weapons

Good marketing plans often include a wide variety of strategic approaches….not just one.  Diverse campaigns offer a wider variety of opportunities and points of measurement – which in turn can lead to a faster response in determining just what’s working, and what isn’t.  Be sure to write these strategic plans down so that you can establish solid tactical plans to achieve the results you need.  Here are a few ideas you can think about, and perhaps include.

Referrals
Referrals can be a sustainable source of new clients – especially in this challenging economy.  If you choose this strategy, you may want to incorporate some of these types of activities:

• Attending networking events or joining related business associations
• Reach out existing and new prospects via LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook or other social networking sites
• Create marketing collateral targeted specifically at existing clients that can refer you to new prospects
• Develop a program to nurture and broaden referral relationships (Lunch/dinner meetings; small events; workshops, etc.)
• Establish new opportunities to reach out to referrers (e.g. speaking engagements; newsletters; collaborative events, etc.)

Offline Marketing
Referrals may be the the most cost-effective way to generate new leads, while advisors new to the business or firms looking to grow rapidly need to reach outside of their current relationships.  If this one of your strategic choices, consider some of these types of planning activities:

• Produce marketing collateral including a capability brochure, advisor bios and product/service sheets
• Conduct public workshops or educational courses
• Advertise through traditional media outlets including local newspapers, magazines, radio stations and television stations
• Consider a multi-tiered direct mail campaign to highly qualified/targeted leads
• Host a paid television or radio show
• Write articles and submit them to local publications
• Write and distribute press releases with news about your firm
• Create a Drip Marketing program to stay top of mind with prospects

Online Marketing
With the rise in popularity of social media strategies in the past economic climate, many are turning toward these newer channels as part of a lower cost option to generating new prospects and leads. If you do decide that social media is a part of your strategic approach, you might consider:

• Producing a website that concisely displays your capabilities and provides educational resources to prospective and current clients
• Providing educational content through blogs, podcasts, webinars, and videos.
• Actively participating in key social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
• Investing in a Google Ad Words campaign (or some similar pay-per-click campaign)
• Actively join online directories and referral sites

There are, of course, many other strategies you should consider as part of your marketing planning for the New year.  The key is choosing those that have the highest degree for return potential for your specific brand’s position, then tracking each and every effort to be certain you have the data at your fingertips to make necessary adjustments to maximize your investment and time.

Step 2: Plan The Year

So you have decided on the strategies you’re going to commit to using, now it’s time to lay them out across a year’s worth of efforts and planning.  To start, simply write out the specific activity (tactical) you want to include under the appropriate category.  For example, if you want to email a quarterly newsletter to your clients and prospects, include “Client Newsletter” under the Client Referral strategic heading.  Then put an “X” or colored block in the week/month you wish to send it out. Continue this process with each activity you identified in Step 1 until you have a marketing calendar for the year.

Step 3: Establish Your Budget

Now that you have a marketing calendar for the year…it’s time to set a budget to execute the plans you’ve made.  You’ll need to do a bit of research if you don’t know exactly how much each tactic may cost – or hire someone to help you that has that kind of experience.  Once you’ve projected the budget for each activity, simply place the dollar amount in place of the X or colored block on your spreadsheet.    In the example of the quarterly email newsletter, you would have designated the communications to be sent quarterly (January, April, July and October), which would now be replaced by the cost of writing, graphics and sending the campaign – for the sake of example, say $500.  This will give you an annual client newsletter budget of $2,000.  Once you’ve completed this process for each marketing activity, you can adjust your plan so that it fits within your budget.  When you have finished adjusting your calendar and budget, you’ll have successfully documented your marketing plan for the year.

Step 4: Implement Your Plan

So you’ve created a plan…the most important step is yet to come – following it.  We’d recommend you print your calendar out for the year, then mark down specific dates you plan on executing each activity.  If you’re unsure about when the activity should take place…make a guess as best you’re able.  It’s far better to have a calendar plan that needs adjustment than to have no plan at all.

Southern Nevada transit officials say they are again offering free bus rides to partiers in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve and early New Year’s Day. 

The free rides on all fixed-service routes are given in hopes of keeping traffic down and intoxicated drivers off the streets. 

The free rides will run from 6 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. on Friday. 

Officials say some routes will be detoured, including the Deuce bus along the Las Vegas Strip. That’s because much of the Las Vegas Strip will be closed to vehicle traffic as revelers party in the streets.
