Lasgo is a musical Trio from Belgium that has created some of the best known European dance songs since 2001. Some of their hits include Alone, Something, and Surrender. These songs are essentials on any Dance Music playlist.

Their original vocalist, Evi Goffin left the group in 2008 to “become a full-time mom.” After her departure, the group held a reality show competition to find a new vocalist. The winner of this competition was Jelle Van Dael. Since her incorporation into the group in 2008, they have produced one album - Smile -  which contained the hit singles Out of My Mind, Gone, and Lost. The video for the fourth single, Over You, was posted earlier this week. Enjoy!

E’ scattata su internet  la nona edizione degli Eurodance Web Awards, il concorso internazionale per il milgior brano dance d’Europa. L’unico concorso per questo genere di musica che premia gli artisi votati secondo due classifiche, quella del web e quella di dj, giornalisti ed esperti del settore. Di fatto è la versione dance ed on line dell’Eurofestival.

Sono 39 i brani in gara, per altrettanti paesi d’Europa. Ce n’è per tutti i gusti e naturalmente anche per tutte le lingue e c’è anche – diremmo persino, visti i tempi che corrono - una italiana. Elisa G, 25 anni, da Pordenone, che è stata selezionata con il brano “Summer Lie”. Almeno qui abbiamo una nostra rappresentante e possiamo anche votarla.

Dovrà confrontarsi con giganti come Calvin Harris, scozzese, che propone il suo “I’m not alone“, il russo Dj Smash con “Moscow never sleeps“, la danese Medina con “Kun for mig“, i bulgari Deep Zone Project, il belga Lasgo, il dj e produttore trance irlandese John O’Callaghan e il singolo “Find Yourself”.

La manifestazione è allargata al bacino del Mediterraneo, così troviamo in gara anche una rappresentante del Libano: si tratta di Nourhanne con il brano nella lingua locale “T’Habibi”. Una rassegna che sta riscuotendo molto successo fra gli addetti ai lavori. E fra l’altro potete andare sul sito ufficiale (il link sta sotto), per ascoltare e votare tutte le canzoni. A fine anno solare sarà proclamato il vincitore.

Op vrijdag 4 september vanaf 20u zet Natalia rt haar klankregisters volledig open in haar Wise Girl Summer Tour. Er zijn nog steeds kaarten verkrijgbaar voor dit optreden. Op zaterdag 19 september pakt Clouseau, na hun optreden op Rimpelrock, opnieuw de Ethias Arena in. Ze hopen alvast het publiek snel in hun muzikale greep te krijgen. Een weekje later op zaterdag 26 september verandert de Studio @ Ethias Arena in een kolkende danstempel tijdens Classix. Niet alleen zorgen Peter Luts en Lasgo, maar ook Technotronic met ‘Pump up your jam’ voor de topsfeer.

Minder goed nieuws komt er van Belle Perez, die ook last heeft van de economische crisis en haar show voor haar 10-jarige viering moet verhuizen naar de kleinere Grenslandhallen op zaterdag 24 oktober. Beter nieuws is er van Will Tura, die zijn nieuwe cd ‘Onvergetelijk/Unforgettable’ met Engels repertoire op 10 september voorstelt. Zijn enig live-concert in België wil hij enkel in de Ethias Arena houden, boven Vorst Nationaal en de Lotto Arena, en dit op 12 december.  Kaarten daarvoor zijn al vanaf woensdag 2 september te bekomen.

Tenslotte is er nog Sinner’s Day, een ware hoogdag voor de new wave en de punk. Studio Brussel wil op Allerheiligendag de legendes van de jaren ‘80 uitnodigen in Hasselt. Zo staan The Bollock Brothers, Anne Clark, Psychedelic Furs, Gary Numan, Human League, Lydia Lunch & The Big Sexy Noise en Belgische boegbeelden zoals The Neon Judgement en Front 242 op de affiche, samen met deejays van de bekendste new wave clubs. Het zal er nogal stuiven.
