Introducing the Alpine A110-50, a concept car by Renault that has been created to celebrate the 50th

Introducing the Alpine A110-50, a concept car by Renault that has been created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Renault Alpine A110 ”Berlinette”. The concept car features a 3.5litre V6 mid-rear engine that delivers 400hp. This engine is associated with a beautifully designed roof mounted-intake that funnels the air directly into the machine’s carbon-fiber intake. Add to that a custom exhaust and a F1 semi sequential 6 speed dual clutch gear box and this is what you get, a flame-throwing 50th anniversary Blue Alpina concept car.The driver in the commercial is Jean Ragnotti, an old time racing driver for Renault. The idea in the video is that he is racing against his younger self in the younger Alpina A110.

You might be asking yourself but when are we gonna see one of those cruising on the Champs Elysee, well until know never. Renault still hasn’t talked about producing this car.

Our favorite French auto maker Renault has given us a first glimpse of the facelifted Twingo, which is adopting one of Laurens van den Acker’s design concepts, head-chief of the creation department within the Group. As we can see from the official picture, the front grill and headlights have had a little botox treatment while the fog lights will be re positioned to give Twingo a nastier stance. The rims will also get a new design while the interior will be overhauled with bolder and better kit. According to the auto maker Twingo is the way of the futere. The facelifted Twingo will get the same motor range as the current version. Low end 1149 cc and the same 133 horsepower top of the line. A hybrid or electric version of the Twingo should make its appearance someplace late in 2013. The Renault Twingo facelift will make its official appearance during the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, and will probably hit the showrooms right after the event. M★S We’ll keep you updated as news oozes out of Renault

Renault’s Frendzy concept is a compact work van/family car, and perhaps a hint at the next-gen

Renault’s Frendzy concept is a compact work van/family car, and perhaps a hint at the next-generation Kangoo line-up. Created under the direction of Laurens van den Acker, it has an assymmetric body structure with one conventional door and one sliding door on the passenger side, but centre-opening doors on the driver’s, meant to give optimum versatility for work use or family comfort and practicality.

The interior can be configured as a load-space or a people-carrier with rear bench seat, and the Frendzy is designed to adapt between work mode and family mode – represented by selectable mood lighting settings. High-tech touches doubling as office-on-wheels and family entertainment include an external screen which could display messages (such as a company name), a touch-screen games console or video screen, a Blackberry Playbook and a 37-inch screen on the sliding rear door; there are also magnetic load-anchoring points, door-mounted sensors which can monitor payloads and the loading of tagged items (to track deliveries, for example), and an adaptable fabric roof panel that can accommodate odd-shaped loads.

Frendzy features the same electric powertrain as the Kangoo ZE, and the charging point of the Zoe; it was designed from scratch as an EV. It also has two distinctive simulated engine sounds to alert pedestrians – one representing its work mode and the other leisure-time.

The Frendzy will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn.

The first concept styled for Renault under new design boss Laurens van den Acker, the DeZir’s

The first concept styled for Renault under new design boss Laurens van den Acker, the DeZir’s intended to preview future work from Renault’s studios. Buzzwords for its genesis were “simple”, “sensuous” and “warm”, and it’s certainly prettier than some of Patrick Le Quement’s creations. Anyway, the key points of interest for DTF are its KERS-style energy recovery system and its 150bhp/226Nm electric drivetrain, capable of a 100-mile range, 112mph, and 0-62 in five seconds.
