After two albums boasting combined sales of 100 000 copies worldwide, Le Peuple De L’Herbe are back with their explosive third album, `Cube’. Combining their passion for Hip Hop, electro, dub and rock, the music of Le Peuple has reached a new dimension: melodic and elegant but still drenched in party spirit and laden with irresistible grooves. Their sound is a unique and spontaneous mix of jungle, hip hop, funk, ragga, house, dub, breaks and more – there are no categories here, just a commitment to having fun with the music. Le Peuple’s energetic lives shows provided a sound basis for their fast growing live reputation which resulted in the band playing in front of mad audiences all over France. Using their live experience ( more than 300 gigs all over Europe in 5 years), it’s in their own studio – The Supadope factory in Lyon (France) – that they recorded “Cube”. Their latest album was released November 2006 and is called “Radio Blood Money”. Combining their passion for hip-hop, electro, dub and rock, the music of ” Le Peuple” reaches a new dimension mixing high energy, distinc grooves, unconventional melodies, elegance and thier legendary fun and party attitude.

Er zijn vijf nieuwe namen bekend voor het Brusselse festival Couleur Café. Dat maakt de organisatie bekend. Onder meer Erykah Badu en Cesaria Evora komen naar het driedaagse festival eind juni in Tour & Taxis.  Het Brusselse festival krijgt er “charmante versterking bij met drie heel straffe dames: queen of nu-soul Erykah Badu, de diva van de eilandblues Cesaria Evora en de Nigeriaanse pop soul revelatie Asa”.  Ook rootsreggae messanjah Luciano komt naar Couleur Café. Calima, “het project van de bassist van Ojos de Brujo, nieuwe vertegenwoordiger van de Barcelonese flamenco hop-beweging” moet volgens de organisatie de avontuurlijke muziekliefhebbers inpalmen. Los Van Van annuleren hun komst naar het festival wegens een herschikking van de Europese tournee. Onder meer MC Solaar, Arsenal, Monsoon, Zucchero en Le Peuple de l’herbe hebben al hun komst naar het festival op vrijdag 27, zaterdag 28 en zondag 29 juni bevestigd.  Bijkomende informatie over de artiesten en geluidsfragmenten zijn vanaf vrijdag 11 april te vinden op de website het festival. Dagkaarten (31, 39 euro aan de festivalkassa) en combitickets (68 euro) kunnen gekocht worden in alle gekende voorverkooppunten.

MC Solaar en Le Peuple de l’herbe zijn eind juni te zien op Couleur Café, het festival in Tour&Taxis in Brussel. De organisatoren hebben woensdag de eerste namen van de affiche bekendgemaakt. Het festival loopt van 27 tot 29 juni. Claude MC stelt er zijn zevende album voor (Chaptitre 7) terwijl Le Peuple de l’herbe met hun nieuw plaat ‘Radio Blood Money’ komen. Naast deze twee Franse groepen zijn al acht andere namen bekend: Orishas, Arsenal, Kassav’, Jimmy Cliff, Kery James, Konono N°1, Raul Paz en Omar Perry. “Net zoals elk jaar putten we inspiratie voor het programma uit de vier hoeken van de wereld, met afwisselend vaste waarden en opkomend talent. Het festival vindt plaats op vier podia in een fantastisch decor, waar heel wat animaties te beleven zijn. De traditionele tentoonstellingsruimte Cool Art Café en het dorp gewijd aan de solidariteit zijn er opnieuw bij”, zeggen de organisatoren.
De voorverkoop begint op 21 maart.
