<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>     La siguiente es la crítica de Carlos Bonfil, en La Jornada de hoy, de la cinta El Silencio de Lorna (Le Silence de Lorna) que por cierto se exhibe en la 51 Muestra Internacional de Cine de la Cineteca.</p>

<p>Antes de filmar sus éxitos de crítica más sobresalientes, <em>El hijo </em>(2002), <em>Rosetta</em> (1999) y <em>El niño</em> (2005), ganadoras estas últimas dos de la Palma de Oro del Festival de Cannes, los cineastas belgas Jean y Luc Dardenne habían realizado un drama realista poco conocido en México, <em>La promesa </em>(1996), sobre la inmigración clandestina y el dilema moral de un adolescente que jura a un trabajador gravemente herido velar por su esposa e hijo, oponiéndose a su propio padre, el patrón responsable del accidente.</p>
<p>Trece años después, el mismo actor joven (Jérémy Renier) tiene un papel protagónico en <em>El silencio de Lorna,</em> nuevo drama sobre la inmigración ilegal en Bélgica. Ahora él es Charly Moreau, el marido por conveniencia de la joven albanesa Lorna (Artha Dobroshi), a quien ayudará a obtener la nacionalidad belga a cambio de una retribución económica. Parte del acuerdo es aceptar después el divorcio a fin de que ella pueda contraer nupcias de nuevo, esta vez con un inmigrante ruso.</p>
<p>Su condición de heroinómano en busca desesperada de cura, incapaz sin embargo de lograrla, lo coloca en una situación de creciente dependencia frente a Lorna y una banda de trata ilegal de personas, que planea eliminarlo mediante una sobredosis. La joven deberá aceptar esta espiral de corrupción criminal u oponerse a ella.</p>
<p>De nueva cuenta están presentes los temas que interesan a los hermanos Dardenne: el negocio sucio, la traición, el desencanto, el largo trayecto de una redención y el retrato de una sociedad moralmente corrompida.</p>

<p>En <em>El niño,</em> Bruno (una vez más, Rénier) vendía a su hijo recién nacido y, tardíamente arrepentido, intentaba recuperarlo de nuevo. Aquí, Lorna se percata de su inclemencia hacia Charly y de su oportunismo tan semejante al de los traficantes, e intenta por todos los medios recobrar un mínimo de honestidad y proteger a su esposo, seriamente amenazado.</p>
<p>Los obstáculos a que se enfrenta semejan la materia de un filme negro, pero lo que en realidad domina en el relato es un empeño de reparación moral común a muchos otros personajes de los Dardenne. La cámara sigue obsesivamente los pasos de Lorna en la ciudad de Lieja; rara vez captura en tomas subjetivas lo que ella ve, sino de modo casi documental la forma en que ella es vista por los demás, como un animal acechado (en la ciudad, en un bosque, en la cabaña donde busca refugio); también como un personaje orillado al delirio, que pugna por encontrar la calidad moral que habrá de justificar su existencia. Huelga decir que Lorna no es una heroína tradicional ni tampoco una víctima expiatoria.</p>
<p>A través de este personaje alternadamente generoso y despiadado, súbitamente misericordioso, los hermanos Dardenne exploran el fenómeno de la inmigración ilegal en Europa, las estrategias de supervivencia de miles de personas, y la red de intereses creados que a diario deciden su suerte. Una realización soberbia, posiblemente la elección más afortunada de la Muestra.</p>

<p>The trailer I saw for this film was very interesting and I had no idea what to expect when I saw this film.  Arta Dobroshi is amazing in this film and is chilling at times.  Dobroshi takes you on a roller coaster of emotions and I hope she gets more chances in great roles like this as she made the movie for sure.  The film is shot in such a raw way that it feels so real and that makes the story that much more realistic.  The characters are very real and have major flaws and live with them.  The Dardenne Brothers do such a great job at giving you details bit by bit instead of just spewing them all at you at once.  And not everything is literally shown to you on screen and I love that as well, not everything needs to be shown in its entirety.  It is great to be left guessing about something and then it be revealed piece by piece until the puzzle is complete.  Dobroshi&#8217;s character is put in many situations that she must live with and the way it ends will leave you breathless.  I look forward to seeing much more from Dobroshi and the Dardenne Brothers in the future.  This film is definitely not for everyone as it is a rather depressing film in a way and it has subtitles and for whatever reason some people can&#8217;t handle that.  Those people are missing out on a great film that will stay with you for days after viewing.  A very real, chilling drama with very interesting characters.  I would recommend it to fans of those type of films or anything with an open mind to foreign film.  <strong>4.5/5</strong></p>

<p>61° Festival di Cannes (più di dieci minuti di applausi), ma non solo: la giuria lo ha premiato per la migliore sceneggiatura. Del resto i fratelli Dardenne sono abituati ai riconoscimenti: proprio Cannes li ha incoronati per ben tre volte, con la Palma d’oro per <em>Rosetta</em> nel 1999<em> </em>e <a href="http://www.cinema4stelle.it/RecensioneLenfant.htm"><em>L’enfant</em></a> nel 2005, con il premio per l’interpretazione maschile a Olivier Gourmet per <em>Il figlio </em>nel 2002. <strong>Jean-Pierre e Luc Dardenne</strong>, di estrazione sociale modesta, cresciuti a contatto col mondo operaio, sono noti per il loro cinema del disagio sociale, un cinema secco e rigoroso che spesso costituisce un’ardua sfida alla platea, un cinema forte e nobilissimo, un cinema che evidenzia come il danaro sia l’unica religione, un cinema che angoscia e fa disperare sul futuro dell’umanità, un cinema che mette a disagio gli spettatori con vicende sgradevoli al massimo.<br />
Ne <strong><em>Il matrimonio di Lorna </em></strong>(ma preferibile il titolo originario, protagonista del film è infatti il silenzio inteso come <em>“tutto ciò che Lorna nasconde agli altri e a se stessa”</em>, Megamodo.it, un silenzio <em>“interiore e la parola espressa…un tentativo di far tacere una coscienza in tumulto”</em>, Cinergie.it) i toni sembrano ammorbiditi e diversi: abbiamo sempre i principali ingredienti del Dogma 95 (linguaggio minimalista, messa in scena priva di fronzoli e orpelli vari, mancanza di colonna sonora esterna aggiunta o luci artificiali, macchina da presa a mano, ambienti reali…), ma è abbandonato il tipico formato 16 mm (sostituito dal 35 mm, con inquadrature più larghe, più ferme e meno in movimento: <em>“la cinepresa è diventata testimone più che attore”</em>, Philippe Elhem), i dialoghi abbondano, e la vicenda raccontata, pur imperniata sempre su disperati emarginati indifesi (e sfruttatori),  sembra offrire -con il suo finale aperto e inatteso- una lieve luce di speranza (è un <em>“inno alla libertà” </em>secondo alcuni critici).<em>“disposta a rendersi complice di una macchinazione spaventosa pur di raccogliere i soldi necessari per realizzare il suo sogno</em>, diventa simbolo di chi vuole <em>riappropriarsi di un’umanità svanita nella selva delle violenze quotidiane” </em>(Joshua Massarenti). A salvare Lorna saranno i suoi rimorsi: “<em>in un mondo così cruento, il senso di colpa è l’unico sentimento che ci consente di accedere all’umanità” </em>hanno dichiarato i registi. La incarna una bravissima <strong>Arta Dobroshi</strong>, eccezionale nell’esprimere cinismo freddezza e determinazione (apparente) sentimento fragilità e pietà (nella sostanza).<br />
Ma tutto il cast è da applauso in questa opera costruita come un thriller arricchito da una serie continua di colpi di scena che coinvolge lo spettatore non permettendogli la minima distrazione.</p>

In order to do so, she becomes an accomplice in a diabolical plan devised by mobster Fabio (Fabrizio Rongione). Fabio has set up a false marriage between Lorna and Claudy (Jérémie Renier) allowing Lorna to get her Belgian citizenship. However, she is then asked<span> to marry a Russian mafioso who&#8217;s ready to pay hard cash to also get his hands on those vital Belgian identity papers. Fabio intends to kill Claudy in order to speed up the second marriage. But will Lorna remain silent? </span></p>

Étiqueté comme « social », on lui reproche son invraisemblance ; jugé austère, sa virtuosité dérange. Ni séduisant ni distrayant, il remplit les salles et remporte de nombreux prix. C’est un cinéma de mouvement, un espace insaisissable, fuyant, fissuré, dans lequel l’image surgit comme par accident.</strong></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">La trame ténue du scénario est suffisamment circonstancielle pour tenir du fait divers. C’en est un, d’ailleurs, à l’origine, une histoire racontée par hasard aux deux frères, celle d’une immigrée albanaise impliquée dans un trafic de mariages blancs, lesquels permettent aux uns de s’enrichir rapidement, aux autres d’obtenir les papiers nécessaires à leur régularisation. Par une première union avec Claudie, un gentil junkie (Jérémie Rénier), Lorna  (Arta Dobroshi) obtient la nationalité belge. Pour rembourser ses débiteurs et investir dans un commerce, il lui faut encore contracter un ou deux mariages avec des étrangers également en attente de régularisation. Toutes sortes de combines sont prévues pour accélérer les procédures de divorce. Il est convenu que Claudie meure d’une overdose. Mais lui décide de décrocher, et Lorna, en dépit d’elle-même, le prend en charge, suscitant la colère des trafiquants qui envisagent alors de régler eux-mêmes le problème… Voilà : autant d’indices actuels – sans-papiers, mafia, jeunes filles de l’Est, pauvreté urbaine – d’une profonde contextualisation sociale. Ou d’autre chose. Il n’y a là rien de très surprenant : le différentiel entre l’intrigue et la substance même d’une œuvre génère un déséquilibre, une tension, qui lui donnent aussi un sens. <em>Crime et Châtiment</em> : un misérable étudiant tue deux vieilles usurières à la hache pour leur voler leur argent. Est-ce un roman social ? un roman policier ? Non, du moins pas essentiellement. Les faits sont contingents, les personnages  aussi. Les minutieuses caractérisations psychologiques et les topographies détaillées ne nous apprennent rien sur l’homme ni sur le monde que nous ne puissions constater de nos propres yeux ; au contraire, c’est en réduisant le récit à ses lignes de force – action, dialogues – que la vie surgit enfin, non pas figée dans une définition restrictive, mais fugace et stimulante.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Les entretiens que donnent les frères Dardenne ont ceci de particulier qu’ils n’évoquent leur travail que sous un angle technique : choix des acteurs, exercices préparatoires, observation, appropriation des gestes, des corps ; ils sont intarissables quant aux conditions de tournage, qualité de la lumière, précision de l’objectif, respect de la chronologie, etc. Ce qui, à l’écran, semble spontané, résulte d’une victoire sur les apparences. Transcender la surface exige du temps, c’est une démarche active, l’effort d’une volonté contre l’inertie et l’opacité. Bien sûr, si l’on reprend attentivement l’intrigue, on constate de nombreuses discordances, des imprécisions, des raccourcis. Nulles recherches dans les archives, nulle enquête sur le terrain, mais de toute évidence une construction imaginaire. L’essentiel n’est ni dans les objets ni dans les faits, mais dans leur articulation. Ainsi, ces techniques et cette grammaire de cinéaste, comme l’arrière plan social, s’oublient. Les rues grises assorties au ciel, les transactions indécentes, les chairs transies de froid qui respirent lourdement, les pas précipités qui claquent sur le pavé, l’étranglement vertigineux des escaliers, la tristesse – au fond tout ceci  est, en quelque sorte, transitoire, ce sont des balises destinées à orienter vers d’autres perceptions, plus intenses et surtout plus durables. Il n’est pas question de substituer à l’interprétation sociale une lecture symbolique, non, c’est un écueil qu’il faut également éviter. Au contraire : la réalité reflue avec une telle puissance qu’au terme de la représentation, elle s’ouvre à elle-même. Objectiver, c’est créer.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">L’absence de vide est flagrante : les personnages saturent l’image. Quasiment dépourvue de musique, la bande-son amplifie les bruits physiologiques. Pourtant, en creux, dans ce magma humain et urbain épais de pollution, de crasse et de conflits, c’est l’engloutissement. Une crevasse, invisible mais perceptible, quelque chose comme une ombre que l’exclusion fait ressortir violemment. Lorna est prisonnière de sa propre détresse. Elle survit. Claudie provoque une crise, une exécration. Soudain son regard change, elle le voit enfin, prend conscience de sa souffrance &#8211; de sa responsabilité. Et c’est étrange comme, là encore, on se rapproche de Dostoïevski.  C’est pourquoi, au regret d’un public parfois trop avide d’agréments superficiels, les frères Dardenne s’interdisent  la fabrication de plans, les beaux paysages endormis dans leur narcissisme, s’intéressant à la nuance, aux dégradés de gris, ils s’ajustent à l’expérience humaine, pour ne pas obtenir par l’artifice ce qu’ils peuvent extraire de la nature et du corps avec une plus grande intensité. De l’inconscience à la conscience, l’histoire – le film – se déploie dans un intervalle extrêmement sensible, les lieux, les objets, les êtres, par une pure modification de la pensée, viennent peu à peu à la vie. Le terme « libération »  ne saurait mieux décrire cet avènement.</p>

Lorna (Arta Dorbroshi) is an Albanian immigrant in Belgium. To get the Belgian nationality, she married junkie Claudy (Jérémie Renier), a coup arranged by Fabio (<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0740090/" target="_blank">Fabrizio Rongione</a>), a small time criminal on the rise. After she&#8217;s got her nationality, Fabio plans to kill Claudy so that Lorna can marry a rich Russian also in search of the Belgian nationality. And then, things get really fucked up.</p>
<p>Le silence de Lorna is not a feel good movie. [Ha! That might well be the understatement of the year.] But it&#8217;s one that&#8217;s incredibly well acted, well written and well done in general. It&#8217;s just so very depressing&#8230;</p>

<p>Really, everything I can say about this movie is that it was excellent. All of the acting was absolutely amazing, but especially Arta Dobroshi and Jérémie Renier. The relationship between Lorna and Claudy was fascinating. You were revolted by both of them in turns and then you wanted to hug them and make it all better.</p>
<p>The Dardenne&#8217;s directing was also bang-on. I especially liked the abruptness of Claudy&#8217;s death. In one scene you see him drive off on his newly bought bike and in the next, Lorna is packing his things and you don&#8217;t really know what&#8217;s going on until she&#8217;s at the morgue. The way these scenes were cut together gave the whole thing a real vibe &#8211; death doesn&#8217;t always come announced, it isn&#8217;t always foreshadowed and it sometimes comes in the worst possible moments. But most of all, usually it&#8217;s abrupt.</p>

<p>The way Lorna is slowly broken until insanity throughout the movie was heartbreaking. The ending is one of the worst [emotionally, not qualitatively] I have ever seen. I practically fled from the cinema to go and have a drink.</p>
<p>So, I&#8217;d recommend watching it &#8211; but only if you have a friend along for comfort.</p>

<p>Ricetta &#8220;Cotto e mangiato&#8221;-style per far diventare cittadino europeo chiunque.</p>
<p>Prendi un poveraccio, un tossico o semplicemente uno che è alla canna del gas (Claudy) e lo paghi per sposare una donna albanese (Lorna) che cerca un modo rapido per avere soldi per aprire un bar, possedere una casa con giardino e ottenere un mutuo per pagarli.</p>
<p>Ma i soldi per Lorna e Claudy sono vincolati al fatto che dopo un anno debbano divorziare in modo che Lorna possa sposare, come neo-cittadina belga, un ricco russo e finanziatore di tutta l&#8217;operazione. Il tutto è orchestrato da Fabio, un tassista che ha numerose entrate non dichiarate al fisco che ha bisogno di Lorna perché lui ha il sesso sbagliato per questa transazione finanziaria.</p>
<p>Tutto fila liscio finché Lorna si affeziona a Claudy e cerca di farlo disintossicare dalle droghe, soprattutto il buscopan <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' /> , mentre Fabio vorrebbe aumentare il proprio guadagno uccidendo il tossico e fregandosi la sua ricompensa.</p>
<p>Lorna non accetta bene le decisioni altrui e fa tutto di testa sua. L&#8217;impatto con la realtà la farà lievemente impazzire. <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

Uno l&#8217;avevo visto nel 2006, a Milano con alcuni compagni del master. Il titolo originale del film è <em>Le Couperet</em>, quello italiano è <em>Il cacciatore di teste</em> e in un post che ho ritrovato ora (perché allora non avevo ancora cominciato a stressarvi l&#8217;anima con questi noiosi e lunghissimi articoli dei film visti) avevo scritto:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>Ringrazio Massimo che mesi fa mi ha quasi costretto a vedere al cinema un film franco-spagnolo-belga intitolato “Le Couperet” e tradotto come “Cacciatori di teste” in italiano. <p>Facendo un confronto tra questi due film, posso presumere che al centro dei lavori dei fratelli Dardenne ci sia la dimostrazione che <em>Fatta la legge trovato l&#8217;inganno</em> non è solo un proverbio ma un modo di vivere di alcune persone senza scrupoli, alla cui presenza su questo pianeta ci stiamo abituando tutti <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<title><![CDATA[Top 2008: une petite année de cinéma...]]></title>

En attendant de vous présenter ma liste prédictive pour 2009 (que je posterai dans pas longtemps), je me plie à la tradition et je vous donne ma liste des meilleurs films 2008. J’y ai inclus une “miniserie” de la chaîne <em>HBO</em> car les limites entre produit cinématographique et film conventionnel ne sont pas toujours claires. Surtout si l’on considère que le cinéma est en train de se développer grâce à des sentiers parallèles comme le DVD et Internet.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0;"><span lang="FR"><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;">Quoi qu’il en soit, en cherchant bien dans mes souvenirs, je me suis rendu compte que, tout compte fait, ce 2008 ne marquera pas un avant et un après dans l’histoire du cinéma. Un bilan bien plat où ne ressortent vraiment que le dernier film des Dardenne et celui de James Gray. Il serait peut-être temps de se tourner vraiment vers le petit écran ou d’aller y chercher des sources d’inspiration.</span></span></span></p>

<p>Lorna (Arta Dobroshi) is a young Albanian immigrant living in Liege. Thanks to her marriage to heroin addict Claudy (<span>Jérémie Renier)</span>, she will soon qualify for Belgian nationality. However, as quickly becomes apparent, there is little that is conventional about her marriage. Indeed, Claudy seems more like the slovenly, self-absorbed, neurotic flatmate-from-hell than a husband. Moreover, as is quickly established, this is the first part of a business arrangement that will see Lorna earn enough money to shortly open a small business of her own with her boyfriend Fabio (<span>Fabrizio Rongione)</span>, a fellow immigrant and menial labourer. However, those best laid plans begin to unravel when Claudy suddenly appears determined to go clean, which represents the first of several dramatic developments that Lorna&#8217;s life is about become affected by.</p>
<p>The film is most notable for its two central performances. Dobroshi hails from Kosovo and barely had any French when offered the role of Lorna. A two-week intensive immersion in the language was followed by six weeks of rehersals. The result was a highly credible peformance as the conflicted young woman put in the middle of an increasingly complicated and dangerous situation. Equally, Renier&#8217;s portrayal of the intense, trusting, and childlike junkie Claudy is fantastic at represening some of the worst and best traits in human behaviour. Together, they share a memorable on-screen moment that proves to be a rare drop of precious humanity in a cesspit of cold and calcuating callousness.<!--more--></p>

<p><em>The Silence of Lorna </em>is the latest from Belgian brothers and filmmakers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. In keeping with their other work, this film offers a terribly bleak outlook on human nature. Here they present a world where people&#8217;s lives are valued for their utility, where relationships have less permanency to them than a chalk mark in the rain, and where morality is like a lone rose growing in a wasteland. Furthermore, as Lorna begins to truly appreciate the consequences of her actions, the Dardenne brothers have an unexpected psychological reaction in mind for her.</p>
<p>While this is not a flawless film by any means, <em>The Silence of Lorna </em>does envoke a sense of grim fascination in the viewer with respect to these characters and what shall become of them. Indeed, the ending is a curious one with connotations that seem both Biblical and fairy tale-like in nature. To put this another way, it represents an unconventional form of escapism from a cruel, heartless, and mercenary world.</p>

<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425061/" target="_blank"> Get Smart</a>: Gedachten op nul en laat dit gedrocht maar over je heen gaan, het valt nog wel mee. De beelden die in totaalbeeld zijn gefilmd bij de parachuteval lijken bijzonder echt en dat verdient wel een applausje.</p>

<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0861689/" target="_blank"> Blindness</a>: Van de grootheid <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0576987/" target="_blank">Fernando Meirelles</a> (denk: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/" target="_blank">Cidade de Deus</a> en <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387131/" target="_blank">The Constant Gardener</a>). Na de eerste beelden had ik al een belachelijk groot déjà-vu gevoel dat ik pas na een dik kwartier kon verklaren; enkele jaren geleden heb ik het boek <a href="http://emilyspageturner.skynetblogs.be/post/5065095/de-stad-der-blinden-van-jose-saramago" target="_blank">&#8216;De stad der blinden&#8217; van José Saramago</a> gelezen. De film komt traag op gang &#8211; het eerste drie kwartier kan in principe op minder dan een kwartier verteld worden, lijkt me &#8211; en de voice-over is een totale flop maar op zich is het zeker nog wel een geslaagde boekverfilming. De verantwoording van het gebruik van de slecht belichte beelden is me ook niet geheel duidelijk; het wordt door heel de film heen gebruikt (zelfs voordat je het beeld gaat associëren met wat &#8216;de blinden&#8217; zien) met hier en daar enkele beelden met prachtige kleuren in. Bizar maar ik ben fan!</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">French cinema was triumphant this past week in its home country as the first foreign film, <em>Mamma Mia!</em>, settled in 5th place and the first American film, <em>Lakeview Terrace</em>, took the 7th spot. The latest Golden Palm winner, <em>The Class</em> (original title <em>Entre Les Murs</em>) retained the top position in its second week, while the new release <em>Go Fast</em> took second place. Rounding out the top five are the dramedies <em>Paris 36</em> (original title <em>Faubourg 36</em>) and <em>Client</em> (original title <em>Cliente</em>) in the third and fourth spots respectively.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:small;">Per ottenere la cittadinanza, l’albanese Lorna sposa un tossicomane belga in cambio di denaro. Il sogno di Lorna è aprire un bar. Servono soldi. Attraverso un gruppo malavitoso la ragazza combina un secondo matrimonio per “dare” a un mafioso russo la cittadinanza ormai acquisita, in cambio di altro denaro. Ma prima Lorna dovrà divorziare. Concentrarsi sugli occhi della bravissima <a href="http://www.mymovies.it/biografia/?a=119089" target="_blank">Arta Dobroshi</a>, la Lorna dei <a href="http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Pierre_Dardenne" target="_blank">fratelli Dardenne</a>, è la prova empirica dell’esistenza dei neuroni-specchio, la cui funzione sembra invocata dalla teoria della simpatia di tanti moralisti scozzesi del XVIII secolo. Concentrarsi su quel primo piano verso il finale, quando i suoi occhi, dopo aver salutato con totale smarrimento il fidanzato Sokol, si riempiono lentamente di lacrime, conduce a sicura emozione. Ma forse non è solo imitazione “indotta” dall’immagine, che si rispecchia nella corteccia cerebrale. È piuttosto la maestria dei Dardenne nell’immergere lo spettatore dentro il film, nel farlo vivere assieme ai protagonisti, girovagare con loro in un concitato lavorio verso l’espressione emotiva autentica. </span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:small;">Forse è questo che ci fa soffrire assieme a Lorna, in quella scena dura, fredda come l’aria del Belgio che abbiamo respirato per quasi due ore. E risulta quasi sadica la bravura dei due fratelli registi nel sentire i tempi del cinema, una sensibilità così puntuale da staccare da quel primo piano proprio un momento <a href="http://nonhosonno.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/locandina5.jpg"></a>prima che Lorna davvero pianga. Così che non ci rilassiamo neppure questa volta. <a href="http://nonhosonno.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/locandina6.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1096" title="locandina6" src="http://nonhosonno.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/locandina6.jpg?w=205" alt="" width="164" height="240" /></a>La via maestra non è la catarsi. Come in <em>Rosetta</em> (1999), i Dardenne non lasciano tregua. Proprio come Rosetta, Lorna non si ferma mai, la sua attività è febbrile, va avanti e indietro tra casa, lavoro, affari da sbrigare, banche, ospedali, parcheggi. È proprio per questo che, ancora una volta, il titolo italiano non coglie il senso dell’originale <em>Le silence de Lorna</em>. <em>Il Silenzio di Lorna</em>. Perché è senza dire nulla – neppure a se stessa – che Lorna tradisce le regole dello “script” che è costretta seguire. Senza dire nulla Lorna cova dentro di sé la propria emotività, in una gestazione tremenda, e non fa ciò che dovrebbe fare per realizzare il piano. Solo alla fine Lorna parla. Ma da sola. Solo alla fine Lorna abbandona la sua borsa. Una sorta di feticcio che vive con lei, per tutto il film. </span><span style="font-size:small;">Un film, <em>Il matrimonio di Lorna</em>, che inizia con l’inquadratura delle mani della protagonista, che scambiano soldi a uno sportello bancario. </span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-size:small;">Non c’è spazio per approfondire il tema dello “scambio”, su cui occorrerebbe fare molte osservazioni. Basta dire che il film inizia con una transazione monetaria e che vedremo spesso, spessissimo, dei soldi passare di mano. Vedremo Lorna chiudere ed aprire armadietti, nascondigli segreti, borse, buste, per tirare fuori denaro, fare i conti, controllare che la misura delle cose sia quella che deve essere. Solo che le cose non andranno come il piano vuole. Le regole dello script economico/monetarizzato si romperanno. Il tempo predisposto non conterrà tutto. La richiesta di libertà, di affettività spezzerà gli schemi. Non a caso, il premio di “consolazione” al festival di Cannes è stato quello per la sceneggiatura. Perché <em>Il matrimonio di Lorna</em> è fatto di stacchi improvvisi, di gesti che non stanno nella trama, di cambiamenti repentini che inizialmente<a href="http://nonhosonno.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/lorna1.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1097" title="lorna1" src="http://nonhosonno.wordpress.com/files/2008/10/lorna1.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="270" height="179" /></a> confondono lo spettatore (Lorna che va incontro a Caludy, sorridente, mentre lui si allontana in motorino). E che poi avranno un esito forte, spiazzante. Come sempre non c’è gesto in più, non c’è inquadratura che non sia motivata, pensata, scelta. Più bello dell’ultimo film, Palma d’Oro 2005, <em>L’enfant.</em> Più complesso, più ricco. <em>Il matrimonio di Lorna</em> conferma la statura dei Dardenne. La densità della regia, la scelta di ogni dettaglio che ritorna alla memoria dopo la visione, la scelta di ritrarre i personaggi senza scavare nella loro interiorità ma di renderla visibile come un calco, un’impronta. Molto bello. </span></p>

The third place was filled by the comedy <em>Let It Rain</em> (original title <em>Parlez-Moi De La Pluie</em>) in its second week of release (check it out at the New York Film Festival on October 10th). The British musical <em>Mamma Mia!</em> came it at number four and the first American film, <em>The Forbidden Kingdom</em>, got fifth place.</p>

(Le silence de Lorna)</strong><br />
Un film di Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Luc Dardenne. Con Jérémie Renier, Arta Dobroshi, Fabrizio Rongione, Olivier Gourmet, Morgan Marinne, Alban Ukaj. Produzione Belgio, Gran Bretagna, Francia, Italia, Germania 2008.</p>
<p>Quella dei Pesci ( Pesce australe e Pesce settentrionale ) è una costellazione autunnale e rappresenta il dodicesimo segno zodiacale; in due pesci sarebbero stati traformati Venere e suo figlio Cupido ad opera di Giove quando vennero assaliti sulle rive di un fiume dal gigante Tifone.</p>
<p>Il Pesce australe ( Piscis Austrinus ) lo ritrovate in questo periodo guardando il firmamento del Sud a 30-40 gradi sull’orizzonte.</p>
<p>Noterete un astro di non intensa magnitudo, ma molto evidente perché occupa una zona del cielo priva di altri astri.</p>
<p>E’ Fomalhaut ( bocca di pesce in arabo ) che mi ha sempre incantato.</p>
<p>Sta lì bella, orgogliosa ed in solitudine ( infatti è chiamata anche la Solitaria).</p>
<p>Ha una carisma tale che le altre stelle si tengono, rispettose, a distanza.</p>
<p>Lorna è come Fomalhalt; è capace di rendere stupenda una zona di cielo, chiedo scusa, una storia semplice, trasformandola in favola dei nostri tempi; grande è la potenza narrativa ed il coinvolgimento emotivo come solo le opere d’arte riescono a fare.</p>
<p>Lo sguardo dei fratelli, dei bravissimi gemelli Dardenne, si proietta sul grave problema dell’immigrazione, del traffico di persone che coinvolge tante vittime e tanti carnefici.</p>
<p>Ma i miei sensi erano sintonizzati tutti sulla dolcissima Fomalhalt-Lorna, che mette a giusta distanza tutti gli altri attori, che pure lavorano egregiamente.</p>
<p>Poetici tre momenti:<br />
• Quando lei si spoglia mostrando un corpo acerbo e tremante per poi..<br />
• Quando rincorre Claudy e ride come una bambina felice e…<br />
• Quando alla fine parla al suo bimbo che …</p>
<p>Andatelo a vedere: Veermer e l’arte fiamminga vi aspettano.<br />
Ma ricordatevi di ammirare prima Fomalhalt della costellazione dei Pesci.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p style="text-align:justify;"><em>Trop noir, trop sombre</em>, le cinéma des frères Dardenne suscite l&#8217;appréhension qu&#8217;un sujet difficile ne manque jamais de soulever à la seule lecture d&#8217;un résumé. Pourtant, il existe une  noirceur qui, ne cherchant ni à plaire ni à générer l&#8217;adhésion, gagne en force, en profondeur, dépassant de fait son propre pessimisme. Personnellement, le cinéma dit &#8220;social&#8221; ne m&#8217;attire pas outre mesure, et les grands drames qui empoignent le cœur me laissent le plus souvent sceptique&#8230; les scénarios &#8220;arrangés&#8221;, didactiques, historiques, dénonciateurs, représentatifs &#8211; je les vois venir, avec leur message en bannière, déployé, prévisible&#8230; Ce n&#8217;est pas cela que j&#8217;attends d&#8217;un film.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Aussi bien, le cinéma des Dardenne, c&#8217;est tout autre chose. Je n&#8217;ai jamais oublié le jour où j&#8217;ai vu <em>L&#8217;Enfant</em>. Cette possibilité de transcender le réalisme en le poussant à bout, par l&#8217;épuisement de sa substance. La caméra collée à la peau des personnages, si près que le décor &#8211; les rues laides, la crasse, le délabrement &#8211; se plaque directement contre les corps, sur un même plan, sans profondeur de champ, à faire étouffer l&#8217;image. Très peu de paroles, pas de musique mais beaucoup de bruit; du souffle, de l&#8217;organique. L&#8217;intrigue tendue comme un nerf, sans digression, sans distraction. Style concis jusqu&#8217;à l&#8217;ellipse, épure qui précipite le sujet, le cristallise sur un point (une entame, une brèche) , toujours le même,  une obsession,  déclinée de film en film, à mille lieues de cette noirceur indûment reprochée : la montée du sentiment.  Comprendre : le moment de grâce d&#8217;un personnage soumis à l&#8217;abjection de son milieu, tenu, haletant, coincé &#8211; contre toute attente, alors même qu&#8217;on ne l&#8217;identifie plus qu&#8217;à ses actions, le reste étant impénétrable, interdit. Brusquement, sans explication, au risque de se perdre, il rompt ses chaînes.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Cette fois, il s&#8217;agit de  Lorna, jeune albanaise &#8211; prête à tout &#8211; qui se compromet  dans un trafic de mariages. Une armure en mouvement qui ne laisse rien entrevoir; une créature abrupte, indifférente, calculatrice, comme ses relations humaines qui toutes se chiffrent en euros. Entre un mari drogué dont la détresse l&#8217;écœure, et un amoureux lointain qui l&#8217;encourage dans la voie de l&#8217;illégalité, quel espoir ? Une vie éprouvante que seule l&#8217;idée fixe d&#8217;une amélioration sociale &#8211; la régularisation &#8211; rend tolérable. Pour y parvenir, un pacte avec le diable, qui, de là où elle se trouve, n&#8217;en paraît presque pas un. Sans ménagement mais sans contradiction, tout s&#8217;inverse, viscéralement : c&#8217;est un avènement, jamais  une rédemption.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Le film s&#8217;achève au crépuscule, dans une cabane au fond de la forêt. La réalité  apparaît comme infiniment moins importante que Lorna -  c&#8217;est elle, et non la réalité, qui nous mène étrangement jusqu&#8217;à la fin. Et la cruauté tant redoutée se résorbe dans une douceur inattendue&#8230;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Il me reste de ce film une impression tenace, au-delà de la tristesse, une émotion difficile à formuler. Que dire de plus ? Ne pas se  prononcer, ni en pensées, ni par écrit ; là où le film impose le silence.</p>
<p><em>Le Silence de Lorna</em>, Jean-Pierre et Luc Dardenne &#8211; Cannes 2008: prix du meilleur scénario.</p>

De -min of meer verwachte- prijs voor de beste actrice ging het Luikse broederpaar voorbij: niet Arta Dobroshi won, maar de Braziliaanse Sandra Corveloni, hoofdrolspeelster in &#8220;Linha de Passe&#8221; van Walter Salles en Daniela Thomas. De acteursprijs ging wel naar de gedoodverfde favoriet: Benicio Del Toro als Ernesto Guevara in &#8220;Che&#8221;.</p>

Le jury présidé </span><span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&#34;">par <span><a href="http://www.cinema-france.com/chercher39_personne_sean-penn.html"><span style="color:windowtext;">Sean Penn</span></a></span><span style="color:#333333;"> a ainsi célébré une nouvelle fois un cinéma international où se côtoie habitués et talents émergents.<br />
Et c&#8217;est le cinéma européen qui en sort grandit avec le réalisateur anglais </span><span>Steve McQueen</span> <span style="color:#333333;">qui remporte la Caméra d&#8217;Or pour son premier film <strong>Hunger</strong> ou les frères <em>Dardenne</em> honorés par le prix du scénario pour <strong>Le Silence de Lorna</strong>, l&#8217;histoire d&#8217;une jeune kosavarde contractant un mariage blanc avec un toxicomane. Eux qui ont déjà reçu deux Palme d&#8217;Or.</p>
<p>L&#8217;événement et la grande surprise de cette 61ème édition restera cependant l&#8217;attribution de la Palme d&#8217;Or au film français </span><span><a href="http://www.cinema-france.com/chercher3398_films_entre-les-murs.html"><span style="color:windowtext;">Entre les murs</span></a></span>, de <span><a href="http://www.cinema-france.com/chercher4992_personne_laurent-cantet.html"><span style="color:windowtext;">Laurent Cantet</span></a></span>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Faltam pouco mais de 24 horas para serem anunciados os premiados da competição do Festival de Cannes. E a dúvida permanece.</p>
<p>O comentário mais comum aqui é que não existe nenhum grande favorito, que a competição foi muito equilibrada. Se nenhum filme se destacou muito em relação aos demais, também é verdade que quase nenhum foi odiado por todos. Em consequência, a impressão é mesmo a de um festival morno.</p>
<p>Hoje pela manhã, <em>Entre les Murs</em>, de Laurent Cantet, foi exibido para a imprensa e imediatamente foi à lista de favoritos &#8211; isso se não se tornou &#8220;o&#8221; favorito. Ele é considerado uma escolha sem grandes polêmicas, caso o júri esteja muito dividido.</p>
<p>Entre seus concorrentes mais diretos estão <em>Três Macacos</em>, do turco Nuri Bilge Ceylan, <em>The Exchange</em>, de Clint Eastwood, <em>Le Silence de Lorna</em>, de Jean-Luc e Pierre Dardenne (vencedores de outras duas Palmas de Ouro), e <em>Linha de Passe</em>, de Walter Salles e Daniela Thomas. Muito se fala numa suposta propensão do júri de premiar filmes de acordo com seu engajamento político, e aí os favoritos são <em>Waltz with Bashir</em>, de Ari Folman, espécie de documentário em forma de animação sobre o conflito no Líbano, <em>Che</em>, de Steven Soderbergh, que pretendia, em 4 horas e meia, dar conta da ascensão e queda do revolucionário argentino, ou até o italiano <em>Gomorra</em>, sobre a máfia.  </p>
<p>O jornal Le Monde publicou hoje uma entrevista com o presidente do júri, Sean Penn. &#8220;A melhor forma de sermos honestos é tentar nos distanciar da pressão da moda e tentar encontrar algo que vai ficar para sempre&#8221;, afirmou. &#8220;Precisamos fazer o oposto do que a Academia que dá os Oscars faz, onde a manipulação e o marketing são premiados.&#8221;</p>
<p>Sean Penn é conhecido por seu engajamento político, mas não afirmou que isso seja determinante para a vitória de algum dos filmes. &#8220;Você ficaria surpreso ao saber que tipo de temas políticos são levantados por cada um dos membros do júri relacionados a filmes ou a elementos de filmes que na superfície não parecem contê-los&#8221;, disse. A verdade é que vários filmes que não parecem políticos contêm mesmo temas políticos, inclusive o brasileiro <em>Linha de Passe</em>.</p>
<p>O júri é composto pela atriz Natalie Portman, o ator e diretor italiano Sergio Castellitto, o diretor mexicano Alfonso Cuarón, o diretor tailandês Apichatpong Weerasethakul, a atriz alemã Alexandra Maria Lara, os diretores franceses Rachid Bouchareb e Marjane Satrapi e a atriz francesa Jeanne Balibar.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>-Cannes- El cine pegado a la realidad más acuciante no desaparece de las pantallas del <a href="http://hantartico.wordpress.com/category/cannes/" target="_self"><strong>Festival de Cannes</strong></a>, donde hoy los belgas <strong>Jean Pierre y Luc Dardenne </strong>estrenaron <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1186369/" target="_blank"><em><strong>&#8220;Le silence de Lorna&#8221;</strong></em></a>, la película que les podría dar su tercera Palma de Oro.</p>
<p>Venerados por la crítica, los hermanos Dardenne construyen de nuevo otra historia basada en valores universales, en este caso el amor y la culpa. Inspirada en una historia real, <em>&#8220;Le silence de Lorna&#8221;</em>, se detiene en la vida de una inmigrante albanesa (Arta Dobroshi) en una gran ciudad belga, que se casa con un drogadicto (Jérémie Renier) para conseguir un pasaporte de la Unión Europea. Enamorada de un compatriota (Alban Ukaj), con quien está ahorrando dinero para montar un negocio, la joven se ve obligada a seguir las instrucciones de un taxista italiano (Fabrizio Rongione), mediador en el matrimonio por papeles.</p>
<p>&#8220;El silencio de Lorna&#8221; es &#8220;un retrato de una mujer de nuestra Europa (occidental) contemporánea&#8221;, dijo Jean Pierre en la conferencia de prensa. &#8220;Lo que realmente nos interesa son los individuos, los seres humanos, gente que viene de otras partes, que trata de conseguir lo que ellos creen que es su parte de felicidad&#8221;, puntualizó JeanPierre.</p>
<p>Lo que diferencia a los Dardenne de muchos otros realizadores que también tratan de explorar lo que constituye el mundo real es que su cámara no se recrea en los aspectos más crudos de la situación que atraviesan los personajes, sino más bien todo lo contrario. Con una gran sutilidad son capaces de asestar al espectador verdaderos puñetazos sin mostrar una sola escena de violencia o dolor.</p>
<p>En definitiva, &#8220;El silencio de Lorna&#8221; es la historia de un ser humano que intenta sobrevivir, una historia inapelablemente universal que podría convertir en únicos a los Dardenne si conquistasen su tercera Palma de Oro. En casi seis años, los realizadores belgas se llevaron el gran premio del certamen francés en dos ocasiones: <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200071/" target="_blank"><em><strong>&#8220;Rosetta&#8221; </strong></em></a>(1999) y <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0456396/" target="_blank"><em><strong>&#8220;L&#8217;Enfant&#8221;</strong></em></a> (2005).</p>

<p>Las cámaras de los fotógrafos se han fijado hoy en la actriz franco-italiana Monica Bellucci, protagonista junto a Luca Zingaretti de &#8220;Sanguepazzo&#8221;, la cinta del italiano Marco Tullio Giordana que se proyecta en una función especial fuera de la competición oficial.</p>
<p>Otro momento memorable de la jornada se vive con la entrega al portugués Manoel de Oliveira (&#8220;O Princípio da Incerteza&#8221;) de la Palma de Oro por su carrera. El cineasta, que cumple en diciembre 100 años y sigue en activo, recogerá el galardón en presencia de Clint Eastwood.</p>
<p>En el acto se proyectará &#8220;One Day in Manoel de Oliveira&#8217;s Life&#8221;, un corto de nueve minutos del director general del certmen francés, Gilles Jacob, así como la primera película del realizador portugués, &#8220;Douro, Faina Fluvial&#8221;, una producción de 18 minutos que data de 1931.</p>
