Dalam versi yang sedikit berbeda dari Forsyth ide pencuri identitas mencoba menggunakan identitas individu penyandang cacat di Selandia Baru dengan asumsi bahwa hal itu tidak mungkin bagi mereka untuk mengajukan permohonan paspor. There is an amount of pride that comes with being an American citizen; the only way that you’ll be able to appreciate, though, is by losing it. Or, like many, begin without it. I’m proud to be an American. I was born here, not brought here. I did not flee here from somewhere else due to an unfair government, persecution, or crime. I didn’t sneak over in search of a better life,  better living conditions, or a better opportunity. I did not arrive as a war criminal a prisoner, or a prisoner of war. I’ve been able to marry since birth, was afforded the right to vote, and had the privilege of serving my country with little more than a background check. I haven’t been aligned with any group of U.S., or non-U.S. persons that have been racially or religiously profiled due to their affiliation, whether innocent or guilty, with radical groups that commit heinous crimes in the United States or against her citizens and properties in foreign countries.

Living under the auspices and freedoms of the United States of America, I was not born in the wrong city, the wrong body, in the wrong era, near the wrong neighborhood, living in the wrong house, to the wrong parents who wrongly treated me. I did not I was not sent to the wrong school, never got shot at by the wrong crowd, and never killed the wrong person while aiming for someone else. No, I went to a school where I was given the choice to get an education, or not. I applied to jobs where I chose to work, or not. I was approached by the wrong people, and I had a chance to take the easier road, or not. When I made the grades to get into a college, I had a choice to attend classes, or not.

I did not attend classes…a choice that led me to fail college within the first four months. Which caused me to get put on academic probation. I lost my housing, my funding, and my shot at college. Thus, the military.

The military doesn’t provide many choices, so my chances for success immediately improved. I received a Security Clearance, a duty station and a job. My duty station was at a Law Enforcement (LE) and Search and Rescue (SAR) Unit These privileges came with responsibility; I learned to fight, became a marksman and a sharpshooter, and had to show up at my post on-time. I also had to pay taxes and vote.

About a year and a half later, I attended “A” School for telecom installation and maintenance in California.

I spent 9 years in the military, and decided to leave when former President Clinton decided to downsize the armed forces because it meant that I would not get promoted. I was third in line to move up, and the powers that be decided that I would not make it that year, and possibly the next.  So I bailed and went back to college, graduated, and here I am today.

I suppose that in a small way, I should be understanding of all of the downtrodden groups of Americans who cry out that their rights have been violated because the American way of life that they’ve been enjoying for most, if not all, of their lives are somehow now not meeting their freedom-based, perceived needs.

Wasting our time, our money, and our attention on various propositions that, if not voted upon in the desired manner, take to the streets and cry “FOUL.” Their attitude, of course, that when Democracy does not go “their way” then it’s not fair; their God-given rights have been violated, although they do not believe for the most part in God. Well, the truth of the matter is that you really don’t have any rights unless they are given to you. Just because you live in America does not mean that America must bend to your needs, and as an American that has actually given his will to his country, maybe it would be better for all involved if you just got out…you’ve got nothing to lose, after all. America isn’t fair? Move. Leave. Go.

We have become a country that puts the needs of your tiny, meddling, superficial groups to the forefront because our leaders are afraid of being called biased. We spend a lot of time on you…and you know exactly who you are…hearing out your court cases and legal summaries as to why things should be this way, or that way, to be truly fair. Instead of seeking a new haven as so many millions have sought America, you instead use fear and hate to spread your doctrine.

It’s a doctrine that is destroying our country and our way of life. Congratulations. While you wage another protest, or sit-in, or attack, the real danger awaits outside our borders. While watching you, we’re forced to take our eye off the true danger. Move to Mexico, Canada, or the Middle East and establish your lives there…I don’t care where you go just as long as it is not here. Goodbye. Good Luck. Get Out. You say that you want freedom and equality, yet you hold the country hostage. I’ve but one more thing left to say: The World Does Not Revolve Around You.

I start work in a few days. It’s a terrible travesty, it really is. I always thought I’d really want to work after I had kids. You know, have it all, a family, a career, the whole sha-bang. And now, I’m in tears over the very thought of leaving Maya 5 days of the week to go back to teaching. I have always loved my job, but my love for my work pales in comparison to my love, affection and attachment to my child.

We have a good daycare picked out. At least I think it will be good. A friend of mine from Teacher’s College has a two-year-old and she decided to start a little daycare in order to stay home with her son. There is only her son and one other full-time child there now (and some part-timers). But it’s growing, people are calling and asking for spots. And there seem to be a lot of rambunctious boys. And Maya is so small… not quite walking yet. I’ve been visiting the daycare with her all week. I love the program. I think my friend is the right person to leave Maya with, if I’m going to leave her anywhere… but that’s the problem–I don’t want to leave her! More importantly, I’m not ready to leave her.

My year of maternity leave seemed to whiz by in a wonderful flash. I can’t believe it’s ending. I will go from spending almost every minute of every day with my little girl to spending less time with her than her daycare provider does. Isn’t that scary? I just don’t feel ready at all… how do people prepare for this?

X Factor hopeful Lloyd Daniels was pushed to breaking point after Louis Walsh predicted he would be in the bottom two on Sunday night.

The Welsh teenager was gutted when he heard Louis’ comments and stormed off the stage following the results show.

Lloyd is constantly criticised by the Irish judge and later told mentor Cheryl Cole that couldn’t take any more and wanted to leave.

Cheryl was forced to calm the 16-year-old down and talk him out of quitting. She later hit out at Louis, branding him “rude” live on The Xtra Factor.

A spokesperson for The X Factor told Mirror.co.uk: “Lloyd was upset about the judges’ comments on Sunday, he thinks it’s important what the judges say.

“Based on Louis comments, he thought he was going to be in the bottom two.

Lloyd is now said to be “feeling better” and looking forward to performing on this weekend’s Elton John/Take That themed show.

Why am I always so stupid? Why must I always make myself look like a fool?

I’m getting tired. I told myself not to be a fool again but I failed. If I’m just nothing to you, may our memories be washed away.

After my examinations, I decided to go missing in action! I will go quietly, nobody will notice. No one gives a damn.

I wonder who will actually read all the entries in this blog. Now that’s interesting.

More than 83 percent of laborers in the central region move to work in other provinces and foreign countries because of a reduction of jobs in local agricultural areas, heard a conference November 21 in Quang Tri Province’s Dong Ha City.

Reasons for migration included limited support policies regarding capital and technology, along with recent natural disasters which left many people homeless.

According to the latest research, of the 83 percent of laborers, 46 percent are farmers and 23 percent are students who drop out of school.

The Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the conference on central region migration patterns, with the Hue University of Sciences in association with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.

Three bombs exploded in India’s restive northeast Sunday, killing five people and wounding more than 25, police said.

Five people died after two blasts went off within minutes of each other outside a police station in Nalbari town near the Assam state capital, Gauhati, a local police official said.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity as he is not authorized to speak to the media, said about five minutes later a third blast occurred a few miles (kilometers) away. More than 25 people have been wounded in the three blasts.

India’s northeast is beset by scores of conflicts. More than 10,000 people have died in separatist violence over the past decade. The region is home to dozens of separatist groups who accuse the government of exploiting the area’s natural resources while doing little for the indigenous people.

Assam’s Inspector General of police Bhaskar Mahanta said authorities suspect the militant separatist group United Liberation Front of Asom is behind the blasts. No group claimed responsibility.

Mahanta said the bombers had parked two bicycles fitted with carriers packed with explosives outside the Nalbari police station, which is located in a congested part of the town. These went off, killing passers-by and wounding the others.

Mahanta said police had received intelligence reports suggesting that the ULFA was planning to avenge last week’s arrest of two of the group’s leaders.

Last week, suspected ULFA rebels triggered a powerful explosion, derailing a freight train and setting more than a dozen oil tanker railcars on fire in Assam.

The ULFA has spurned the Indian government’s offer to hold talks with them on condition that the group give up violence.

PARIS, Nov 22, 2009 (AFP) – It is just as well football is the most popular and perhaps most lucrative sport in the world because the publicity it has had in the past fortnight could have killed lesser ones off.

The suicide of German national goalkeeper Robert Enke did not help the macho image of the game given that he had sought to hide his battle with depression fearful that it would harm his image in the sport.

Then there came the ‘hand of frog’ – Thierry Henry’s blatant handball which effectively put France into the World Cup finals at the expense of the Republic of Ireland in Wednesday’s play-off.

As if that was not bad enough allegations surfaced on Friday of widespread matchfixing from Germany to Bosnia-Hercegovina filtering down to even regional matches and Under-19 level.

Enke’s suicide after years of battling depression was at least treated with great dignity – not least by his widow Teresa whose behaviour makes her definitely worthy of role model status – and decorum with a tribute at his club Hanover’s stadium.

However, if any good can come out of such a tragedy it was highlighted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel who said that his death should serve as a means of making German society a more transparent and caring one.

“We must send a clear signal,” Merkel told German weekly newspaper Die Zeit.

“We can help to change the social climate so that taboos like depression, and also issues like homosexuality, are no longer impossible to discuss.

“If someone is affected by either issue, they should be able to talk about it in peace,” she added.

Whether Henry, one of the formerly more respected players in a sport not exactly awash with role models, can rebuild his reputation is a moot point.

Even the Barcelona forward’s calls for the match with the Irish to be replayed fell on deaf ears as FIFA had already ruled that possibility out before he issued his statement.

Henry is caught in the eye of the storm after his handball gave William Gallas the chance to score the goal which took the 1998 champions through, leaving the Irish distraught and the former Arsenal striker sheepish as he admitted his misdemeanour.

“Of course the fairest solution would be to replay the game but it is not in my control,” the France captain said.

“Naturally I feel embarrassed at the way that we won and feel extremely sorry for the Irish who definitely deserve to be in South Africa.”

“The ball bounced and it hit my hand,” added Henry, though he insisted that “I am not a cheat.”

The circumstances, while not as blatant as Diego Maradona’s slam dunk past England keeper Peter Shilton in the 1986 finals, may now sadly prove the abiding memory of a player who has worn French blue for 12 years, won the Champions League with Barca and lit up the English Premiership with Arsenal.

Certainly that is the opinion of the never bashful Erci Cantona, who suffered his won World Cup heartbreak in the final qualifier for the 1994 edition when Bulgaria scored in the final minute.

“What shocked me most was that at the end of the match, in front of the television cameras, this player (Henry) went and sat down next to an Irish player to console him, even though he’d screwed them three minutes earlier.

“If I’d been Irish, he wouldn’t have lasted three seconds.”

So if there is any good to come out of this dark episode then calls for video replays to be introduced – like they are used in tennis and rugby union – have reached a cacophony which is so loud that even UEFA supremo Michel Platini’s implacable opposition to such a measure might wilt.

Forced to flee: Whispers on the night of departure, hurriedly packing only what is needed, a horse drawn carriage, palpitations every time it comes to a halt, fear of fellow travelers, arriving in a strange place, knowing no-one, not enough money.

History sounds really boring if you don’t think about it. Plenty of the people that we look up to in the past had to, at some point, flee to somewhere. What would that have meant for them? Leaving everything behind is an idea so alien to us. Would I be able to do it?
