Hard to Defend

It’s fair to say that a sizeable section of the Celtic support weren’t exactly overjoyed by the January signing of Leigh Griffiths.

I include myself in that number, my own concerns being twofold: I had doubts as to whether he was any better than the strikers already at the club and I had reservations due to his reportedly dubious off-field behaviour. 650 more words

why so many hypocrites

A brilliant piece of writing on the current issue with leigh Griffiths, we all have our opinions I tweeted earlier in the week when the story broke that indeed there was a witch hunt against Griffiths, he came to the club with a reputation and when this happens its inevitable old demons follow you,but like the post below states to many are taking this to far, yes the club have to be seen punishing him, fines dropped from the team that’s what the establishment demands, but to become hypocrits that’s just not on,leaving aside the wider spectrum of the msm and fans of other clubs,id like to address the so called celtic fans who choose to say that’s it he’s done, etc etc etc, have you never went to a game and found yourself singing the songs of Celtics heritage, songs of irish freedom, songs of the ira, songs of palestine, songs of hate against rangers etc,of course you have, ive done it on many occasions, my political beliefs il keep to myself people who know me will know my stance, it’s not for this post, I find it distasteful how someone can be turned on so easily by the sway of the masses, we’ve always championed our culture on fighting such oppression, our freedom of speech is slowly being taken away, Griffiths made a mistake attending the hearts v hibs game and putting himself in front of the camera, but it is no more than this a slap on the wrist mistake,to take it to the levels it has is pure folly and a sad state of the hypocritical nature of some people in scotland today…… 19 more words

Leigh Griffiths

Has Leigh Griffiths been living on a different planet?

Footballers in this country are cast rather stereotypically and perhaps at times unkindly as not being the brightest bulbs in the box and the extent of conversation we hear from them includes tired, but media friendly, clichés before or after football matches. 775 more words
