Nossa que ansiedade… como esperava pelo grande dia né?? Como foi? Não precisa nos contar estivemos presente e testemunhamos cada minuto do feliz casal!! Teve um pouco de tudo… até sosia do “Barack Obama” no trompete ( rsrsrs )… brincadeiras a parte, foi perfeito e comecou bem antes, isso bem antes… desde do dia em que há muito tempo o casal se conheceu ( se não me engano na faculdade né? isso? ) então… daí por diante a história se escreveu e os destinos se juntaram de agora e sempre!! Que assim seja uma familia feliz… com muito filhos?? Que seja!! Que seja !!

Muuuuitas felicidades amigos é o que desejo de coração, não me esqueço da família de ambos os noivos que agora são uma só abraço a todos!!

I was telling my sister recently to just keep going.  She was sharing with me how she’s having a hard time landing a job and was ready to quit.

I had my share of those moments when things seem to not favors me no matter how hard I try.  Many times I kind of given up too.  Other times,  I just had kept on.. something  made me go on and I did.  And looking back, those were the times when I kept going that I was able to reap rewards.

I started reading Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich free ebook and I got pass the Three Feet From Gold story that reminded me of an experience about a wild trip to Baguio.

It was  ”…three feet from where the Darbys had stopped drilling that the gold is found.” by the ‘Junk’ man to whom Mr. Darby sold his machinery for mining ore for a few hundred dollars .

Indeed, one of life’s irony is just when we feel so defeated and about to give up on something that the answer shows up all of a sudden.  And we later realize the lesson.

The Baguio Wild Trip

It was a chapter in my life when I decided to start over.  I talked my  friend Leo into accompanying me and since he’s never been to Baguio he was delighted. Not to mention that it’ll be an all-expense paid  for him which I shouldered. He was kind of broke at that time.  I didn’t have much either.  But it was the way to go for me.

Another buddy named Joey went along.  So it was three of us.  I told them my plan which is to look for a job and stay for good.  I kind of gave myself a one-week target to get settled.  It was a do-or-die situation.

We got very limited money and no definite place to go in an unfamiliar place. It was crazy.. and perfect.  Amidst the uncertainty is the incomparable freedom of a dare-devil adventure.

We got there late in the afternoon and set out to our first task of finding a place to stay for the night.  The boarding house hunting started the next day.

Our first stop at Joey’s church friend in Crystal Cave did not go well.  I remember how some of the house structures there with base posts on slopes kind of given me a scare and wonderment at the same time.  I was used to seeing and inhabiting level ground houses.

Come dark we were exhausted and so beat, we settled with the second immediate option we got.  They slept over at one of the church centers, I in one of the several market stalls owned by another of Joey’s church friends, walking distance from them, which I remember to be nearby the airport.

It was frightening for me to be separated from them on that first night in a cold place and to be sleeping at someone’s stall that has wood strips for a door.  I scolded them in the morning for making me sleep there alone.

We grab some quick food along the way as we search for a boarding house.  It started out exciting as we explore the roads and sites of Baguio until after several failed inquiries for a prospect pad.  The thought of sleeping again in that stall made me cringe, we have to find a house to crash in tonight, I told myself.

So, after several more road blocks covered and seen houses, still no success. It’s either beyond our budget, not so cool for our tastes (but we’re not that choosy alright.. ), no vacancy, or the owner or landlord simply doesn’t want to take us in.. maybe for some ethical reasons.

Imagine a girl with two bisexual-looking guys with baggages and a sleeping bag, who looks like stowaways without much, looking for a place to stay.  Hmmp.. maybe I would think twice too if I were in their shoes.

By late afternoon we were tired and desperate.  The guys were deciding to call it a day.  I feel them but wasn’t gonna give up yet and so beg for one more house.

We trudged wearily up the hill as the sun was setting down and knocked on one more door.  Finally, a sense of hope.. the owners seemed accommodating and empathic of our situation.  We know we’re not that appealing group of boarders.. we told them our story, of me staying for good…  They probably took pity and admitted us that night.  What a relief. Whew!

And thank goodness we decided to check one more house.

The days that followed were mixed feelings of ecstasy being in ‘paradise’ and the stress of job-hunt and getting by each day with mainly noodles or canned sardines, rice and bread.  It was a humbling and empowering experience all at the same time.  We had to call long-distance for some money support from close sources to survive that week. We weren’t let down.

Before the week ended, I scored a job as a graphic designer for a mall with a very minimal pay compared to my last in Manila.  I was culture-shocked.  Anyway, that will do for now I thought.  One day at a time.

On the seventh day, I move in to a new room-for-rent just a stone’s throw away from work.  We were evicted from the first boarding house by this time.

It was the last day of our adventure together, as planned.  So that same day Leo and Joey bid me goodbye and good luck as I escorted them to the bus terminal.

I welcomed my new life in ‘paradise’ and the new work the next day with a smile.  The end.

Yesterday I wrote a blog about Sagittarian energy.  Today I want to discuss how we can best utilize this energy considering the movements that other planets will be making during this time.

On December 1, Uranus goes Direct in Pisces.   Uranus, the planet of enlightenment, rebellion, and upheavals, has been in Pisces, the sign of compassion, self-sacrifice, and a movement towards divine union, since 2003.  Uranus’ placement in Pisces has caused humanity to look in non-traditional places in order to connect with the Divine and the energy that helps us to evolve.  People will tend to go off of the well-beaten path to find other ways to define and manifest their beliefs.  As Uranus goes Direct, we can anticipate its arrival in Aries, the sign of beginnings, leadership, and warrior strength in 2010.

On December 5, Mercury enters Capricorn.  Because I tend to relate astrology to the orishas, I compare Mercury to Elegba, the orisha who is the holder of ashe (God’s life force) and the one who takes our prayers to God (called Olodumare in Yoruba).  He is the messenger, just as Mercury is the messenger Roman mythology.  In astrology, Mercury symbolizes the rational mind and that we perceive and communicate.  Capricorn energy is similar to Ochosi, the orisha of the hunt who always hits his mark.  Ochossi is the energy of focus and direction balance, judgment, and reason, just as Capricorn is — all about hard work, intense concentration, and ambition.   Mercury in Capricorn is about focusing the mind in order to reach our goals.  On December 7, Mercury conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn.  Pluto, to me, relates to Oya, the orisha of the air, winds, and transformation.  When combined (or conjunct) with another planet, Pluto brings a heightened intensity.  So Pluto’s energy only heightens that sense of focus!  Mercury also squares Saturn in Capricorn on December 7.  Saturn is the planet of limitation, restriction, and karma — the great teacher –is the ruler of Capricorn and thus represents Ochosi…even more intense focus.   It may be very beneficial to hold some sort of goal-setting ceremony on December 7, asking Ochosi and Oya to help to have the intensity of focus and ambition in order to meet your goals.

Ochosi, orisha of the hunt. He brings balance, reason, focus, and direction.

Mars goes retrograde in Leo on December 20.  Mars is the planet of courage, aggression, and strength and relates closely to Ogun, the orisha of war, truth, and iron.  Like Elegba and Ochosi, Ogun is a warrior orisha.  Leo is a fire sign, a sign of will, strength, and creativity.  I liken Leonine energy to the energy of the orisha Shango, the orisha of thunder, lightening, justice, dance, and the sacred bata drums.  With Mars in Leo, it’s like Ogun and Shango linking up to create a very strong, very willful, very “hear me roar” evergy.  That’s the energy we now have the privilege to enjoy and this current placement is a good time to try something new and to let go of the fears that hinder our true expression.  However, once this retrogradation occurs, the energy becomes a lot more introspective and become egotistical and narcissistic.  If you are a leader, watch your back because people may feel the need to rebel.

Ogun, orisha of iron, war, and truth.

‘The whole power productive of water they called Oceanus, and named its symbolic figure Tethys. But of the whole, the drinking-water produced is called Achelous; and the sea-water Poseidon; while again that which makes the sea, inasmuch as it is productive, is Amphitrite. Of the sweet waters the particular powers are called Nymphs, and those of the sea-waters Nereids.

Again, the power of fire they called Hephaestus, and have made his image in the form of a man, but put on it a blue cap as a symbol of the revolution of the heavens, because the archetypal and purest form of fire is there. But the fire brought down from heaven to earth is less intense, and wants the strengthening and support which is found in matter: wherefore he is lame, as needing matter to support him.

Also they supposed a power of this kind to belong to the sun and called it Apollo, from the pulsation of his beams. There are also nine Muses singing to his lyre, which are the sublunar sphere, and seven spheres of the planets, and one of the fixed stars. And they crowned him with laurel, partly because the plant is full of fire, and therefore hated by daemons; and partly because it crackles in burning, to represent the god’s prophetic art.

But inasmuch as the sun wards off the evils of the earth, they called him Heracles (from his clashing against the air) in passing from east to west. And they invented fables of his performing twelve labours, as the symbol of the division of the signs of the zodiac in heaven; and they arrayed him with a club and a lion’s skin, the one as an indication of his uneven motion, and the other representative of his strength in “Leo” the sign of the zodiac.

Of the sun’s healing power Asclepius is the symbol, and to him they have given the staff as a sign of the support and rest of the sick, and the serpent is wound round it, as significant of his preservation of body and soul: for the animal is most full of spirit, and shuffles off the weakness of the body. It seems also to have a great faculty for healing: for it found the remedy for giving clear sight, and is said in a legend to know a certain plant which restores life.

But the fiery power of his revolving and circling motion, whereby he ripens the crops, is called Dionysus, not in the same sense as the power which produces the juicy fruits, but either from the sun’s rotation, or from his completing his orbit in the heaven. And whereas he revolves round the cosmical seasons and is the maker of “times and tides,” the sun is on this account called Horus.

Of his power over agriculture, whereon depend the gifts of wealth, the symbol is Pluto. He has, however, equally the power of destroying, on which account they make Sarapis share the temple of Pluto: and the purple tunic they make the symbol of the light that has sunk beneath the earth, and the sceptre broken at the top that of his power below, and the posture of the hand the symbol of his departure into the unseen world.

Cerberus is represented with three heads, because the positions of the sun above the earth are three-rising, midday, and setting.

The moon, conceived according to her brightness, they called Artemis, as it were, “cutting the air.” And Artemis, though herself a virgin, presides over childbirth, because the power of the new moon is helpful to parturition.

What Apollo is to the sun, that Athena is to the moon: for the moon is a symbol of wisdom, and so a kind of Athena.

But, again, the moon is Hecate, the symbol of her varying phases and of her power dependent on the phases. Wherefore her power appears in three forms, having as symbol of the new moon the figure in the white robe and golden sandals, and torches lighted: the basket, which she bears when she has mounted high, is the symbol of the cultivation of the crops, which she makes to grow up according to the increase of her light: and again the symbol of the full moon is the goddess of the brazen sandals.

Or even from the branch of olive one might infer her fiery nature, and from the poppy her productiveness, and the multitude of the souls who find an abode in her as in a city, for the poppy is an emblem of a city. She bears a bow, like Artemis, because of the sharpness of the pangs of labour.

And, again, the Fates are referred to her powers, Clotho to the generative, and Lachesis to the nutritive, and Atropos to the inexorable will of the deity.

Also, the power productive of corn-crops, which is Demeter, they associate with her, as producing power in her. The moon is also a supporter of Kore. They set Dionysus also beside her, both on account of their growth of horns, and because of the region of clouds lying beneath the lower world.

The power of Kronos they perceived to be sluggish and slow and cold, and therefore attributed to him the power of time: and they figure him standing, and grey-headed, to indicate that time is growing old.

The Curetes, attending on Chronos, are symbols of the seasons, because time journeys on through seasons.

Of the Hours, some are the Olympian, belonging to the sun, which also open the gates in the air: and others are earthly, belonging to Demeter, and hold a basket, one symbolic of the flowers of spring, and the other of the wheat-ears of summer.

The power of Ares they perceived to be fiery, and represented it as causing war and bloodshed, and capable both of harm and benefit.

The star of Aphrodite they observed as tending to fecundity, being the cause of desire and offspring, and represented it as a woman because of generation, and as beautiful, because it is also the evening star-

“Hesper, the fairest star that shines in heaven.” [Homer, Iliad 22:318]

And Eros they set by her because of desire. She veils her breasts and other parts, because their power is the source of generation and nourishment. She comes from the sea, a watery element, and warm, and in constant movement, and foaming because of its commotion, whereby they intimate the seminal power.

Hermes is the representative of reason and speech, which both accomplish and interpret all things. The phallic Hermes represents vigour, but also indicates the generative law that pervades all things.

Further, reason is composite: in the sun it is called Hermes; in the moon Hecate; and that which is in the All Hermopan, for the generative and creative reason extends over all things. Hermanubis also is composite, and as it were half Greek, being found among the Egyptians also. Since speech is also connected with the power of love, Eros represents this power: wherefore Eros is represented as the son of Hermes, but as an infant, because of his sudden impulses of desire.

They made Pan the symbol of the universe, and gave him his horns as symbols of sun and moon, and the fawn skin as emblem of the stars in heaven, or of the variety of the universe.’

Leider ist der Cartoon diesmal nur einfarbig (aber dafür mit andersfarbeigen Lineouts. Wäre sonst auch irgendwie doof). Ich hatte keine Zeit zum Kolorieren. Da seht ihr, wie weit es schon mit mir gekommen ist.

Und um gleich auf etwaiges Geschimpfe zu reagieren: Nein, ich kann nicht besonders gut mit Grafikprogrammen am Computer umgehen. Aber ich lern’ das sicher noch.

I got in the mail yesterday my commission from Jim Lawson.  I asked him after the interview for this stellar drawing.  It only cost $60, and the money was more than worth it for this beautiful piece that is now my favorite in my collection.  To be just a super creep, I attached the stickers that Lawson wrote my address and his address on to the print on the back for when it’s framed.

I forgot to turn my camera’s resolution up, so some of these pictures are (crisply) blurry.

Some Show and Tell!

Doesn’t that look fantastic!  I was so happy when I took this out of the cardboard that I just stared at it for a good ten minutes despite having guests over that I hadn’t seen for a year!

Lawson did such a kickass job on this commission that I’m really considering another one.  Maybe I’ll convince my sister to buy me one since she owes me a couple presents for various things.

Oh, I also got a print by Albert Rothstein off of eBay in the mail yesterday.  I ordered a bunch of artwork off of eBay in addition to this that I’ll soon be getting in the mail, and I ordered a Michael Dooney Leonardo Sketch!

My “foster” puppy is here. He’s my sister’s dog but she lives in NYC and works at a popular BBQ restaurant there so it’s difficult when he’s home alone for so long most days. We’re taking him for a while to make things easier on her. So yay for puppy time on the blog! He is a shih-tzu and is 8 years old. But I will call all my dogs puppy. Anyway..back to the rest of my day..

After my post I cleaned the apartment, then headed to the gym.

Good work-out! Not too long, but I did what I could with the time I had. I got off my butt and sweat a lot and that’s great.

After showering up, I made a lighter lunch. I believe this is what fellow bloggers call a Hugh Jass salad:

Mmmm, my fave. Spinach salad with brocc, baby carrots, a little gorgonzola crumbles(the last of ‘em) and some goddess dressing on top.

I had been borrowing my in-laws car for a week and a half, I actually drive my father-in-laws jeep until January when I get a new car (yay!) and they dropped my jeep back off the other day. Getting into my car I found a present: a bag of Jelly Bellys!! Ohhh man..trouble right there..

I munched..

Don’t worry this was taken at a red light. I munched throughout the evening.

I headed out to my mother-in-laws to help grade. Once I got there I felt so drained! Well, duh I had no carbs with lunch! I now realize why I was so tired! I had toasted a slice of oatmeal bread to have along with my salad but totally forgot about it! I was in such a rush to get out the door. The salad filled me for a while though.

I graded for a bit then left to pick-up my sister at the airport. Boy did it start storming though. That lightning was insane! I got lost but finally made it. Good thing I had jelly beans..*munchmunchmunchmunch*

I picked her up and we headed back to my in-laws since they offered dinner for us and since it was dark, rainy, and eating outside(with Leo) was out of the question we agreed! Good thing too, dinner was super yummy!

Pork, fresh steamed green beans, rice, and cornbread! Oh yes, and some homemade cranberry sauce. Plus some unpictured peas. Am I weird that I love peas? I went back for two more scoops after I ate one!

I went back for seconds on…..everything. I ended up eating two and a half slices of cornbread. I love corn anything, hence the arepa the other day. I LOVE cornbread. Oh man, and this was the good ol’ jiffy box cornbread. Yuuumm!

After dinner, I had a cup of coffee and we headed home.

Oh and my nephew…

Everybody, meet Leo. Leo, meet everybody..

He was on Benadryl and some Rescue Remedy to calm him during the flight so he’s very sleepy. He goes to a holistic vet in NYC, awesome right? I actually used rescue remedy when my anxiety was high. I love it, and need to get more. Good to know it’s okay for dogs! Ha..

It was hard to get him to look at the camera but you will see lots of pics of him! Especially since my sister is leaving him with us for a while. I want her to be able to keep up with him as well and the blog is the perfect place for that!

Tomorrow is a big day, especially since we’re headed to Jacksonville for Thanksgiving..YAY. I am off to make some tea and get some rest.

Dags igen för en liten summering av några serier jag redan skrivit om som nu har kommit ut med fler delar.

Liksom förra gången har jag läst en ny del av Leos serie om utomjordiska kolonier. Handling har nu flyttat över till Betelgeuse, en planet som saknar det globala havet vi såg i Aldebaran-sviten, men likafullt flödar över av diverse bisarra djur. Precis som förut är det återigen Leos teckningar av den extraterrestriella faunan som lockar; hans människor har lite stela ansikten och framförallt munnar.

Om jag ska vara lite petig verkar handlingen i den här sviten vara lite väl lik den förra (koloni som tappat kontakten med Jorden, och därefter har en otrevlig diktatur tagit över), Cinebook fortsätter med sin fåniga censurering, och tyvärr verkar triste Marc dyka upp igen. Men det spelar faktiskt ingen (eller mycket liten) roll; det jag läser Leos serie för är naturen han skildrar, och det fortsätter han med den äran även här.

Raskt över till den andra och avslutande delen av den alldeles förträffliga serien A Distant Neighborhood av Jiro Taniguchi. När jag hade läst den första delen hoppades jag att Taniguchi skulle hålla hela vägen fram; det fanns i så fall en god chans att det här skulle bli en av de bästa serierna jag läst.

Frustrerande nog blev det lite både och; på en del sätt är den andra delen ännu bättre än den första, men å andra sidan finns det några små saker som stör mig rejält. Men man får ta det goda med det onda:

Det goda: Taniguchis skildring av Nakaharas känslor efter att ha blivit 14 år igen är superb. Den finstämda skildringen av familjen och framförallt fadern är enastående i sin skarpsynhet och ömhet, där faderns känslor bara berörs helt lätt men ack så elegant. Taniguchi balanserar också perfekt mellan Nakaharas nostalgiska känslor när han träffar människor som han vet hur det kommer att gå för, och hans lycka i nuet,  lyckan över att vara ung och stark igen. Det är en mycket tydligt japansk känsla över sättet som känslorna skildras som långt mer påminner om japansk romaner än japanska serier. Absolut toppbetyg, med andra ord.

Det onda: Avslutningen. Tidsresehistorier och liknande är notoriskt svåra att avsluta på ett tillfredsställande sätt, och inte ens Taniguchi klarar av det på ett sätt som jag hade önskat. I och med att resten av serien är så fantastisk köpte jag ändå slutet men i vilken annan serie som helst hade det blivit underbetyg här. För den som inte vill veta vad problemet är, hoppa till nästa stycke nu. Den urgamla och sugiga lösningen med att det var bara en dröm, men där det precis på slutet dyker upp ett bevis på att det ändå inte var det har jag läst alldeles för många gånger förut. Tacka vet jag exempel som Måndag hela veckan där man aldrig får någon förklaring till varför allt hände; en mycket bättre lösning. Men som sagt är serien i sin helhet så bra att jag inte kan bli så deprimerad över det som jag kanske egentligen borde :-/

Och till sist, en annan manga om jag livligt rekommenderar: Hikaru no Go, som i och med bok nr 17 borde vara slut men tyvärr inte är det. Vad jag menar med det är att i och med den här boken känns det som om historien helt enkelt är färdigberättad; det som skulle sägas är sagt. När jag sen ser att det fortfarande är 6 volymer kvar, och att nummer 18 utannonseras som en en samling med kortare berättelser om bifigurer låter det alldeles för mycket som en serie där förlaget desperat bett serieskaparna om att fortsätta ett liiitet tag till. Jag kommer att köpa och läsa även dessa volymer, men är som sagt skeptisk. Det har varit en underbar serie om Hikarus framfart inom Go-spelandet och hans utveckling både som människa och spelare, och jag kommer att sakna den; det är förunderligt hur en serie som handlar om så lite ändå kan vara så spännande. Jag kan spela Go själv (alldeles extremt uselt, dock), men det behövs inte för att man ska uppskatta Hikaru no Go. Ett praktexemplar bland gedigna japanska underhållningsserier utan litterära ambitioner.

we are consistently bombarded with stories of fear and terror in the media. yet all of it is in vain if there isn’t a call to action.

this short-film represents a glowing example of a call to action. in this case, it was for nuclear disarmament, but it really can be applied to any cause.

Dr. Helen Caldicott gives a powerful lecture that starts with describing the medical effects and societal consequences of an atomic war, which, she argues, would not be a “war” but more accurately, “extermination”.. then she leads into what she has personally done to help save lives, and then urges the audience to do their own part.

the final few minutes of this film are extremely powerful in its expression of love and passion. it is a truly inspiring Oscar-winning film.

În Caraş-Severin, DIN CEI 284.196 de alegători înscrişi pe listele electorale, s-au prezentat la urne puţin peste JUMĂTATE, 144.297 (50,77%). 98,21% (141.725) dintre voturile exprimate au fost valabile. NUMAI 35,30% DIN JUMĂTATEA CELOR PREZENŢI LA VOT au ales candidatul PD-L, Băsescu Tr..

* Sucesurile * obţinute, aşadar de candidatul PD-L, Băsescu, vin , cum era previzibil, exact cum s-a-ntâmplat şi la nivel naţional, din turismul electoral practicat de către PD-L. Să calculăm : 8740 din cărăşenii ce s-au prezentat la vot, şi-au exercitat dreptul, cum altfel LA SECŢIILE SPECIALE DE VOTARE ! Iar 21,98% au votat candidatul PNL, Crin Antonescu şi Respect faţă de opţiunea lor.

Concluzionând : ce kkt de * scor bun peste media naţională *, ca să-l cităm pe Frunzăverde, a obţinut tovarăşul Băsescu? Adică puţin peste 35% din voturi DIN JUMATEA celor ce s-au prezentat la vot, DIN CARE APROAPE 9000 ÎN SECŢIILE SPECIALE… DACĂ TĂCEA…

Păi totuşi, 49,81% din cărăşeni, din care 27,04% pentru M Geoană şi 22,77% pentru Crin Antonescu, au decis limpede că NU-L DORESC PE  BĂSESCU! Iar jumate din cărăşenii înscrişi pe listele oficiale a cetăţenilor cu drept de vot, NU s-au prezentat la urne!

Aşadar: fala voastră şi mândria, va rămâne DOAR… răchia, punct.

Laughing at Crow once a day is a tradition.

Monday was supposed to be Asura Cryin’ Day but uh… some things couldn’t be avoided. Now I’m bringing you Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s instead. Expect Asura Cryin’ tomorrow or something.

I had a hard time with my schedule when my grandmother fell ill and was hospitalized for days. I wasn’t even able to complete my enrolment. My PC even got a ridiculous virus thanks to my cousin’s PSP. I just had it fixed yesterday and this post was halfway done. Now I’m posting it to get it out of my system as I could not bring myself to use my crappy and laggy laptop in posting anymore.

Now enough of my rant and explanation for being inactive for awhile. This episode is about Zora’s son named Leo. No, he’s not Rua. This Leo person had been gone for 3 years and is back to fix the clock but he couldn’t bring himself to talk with Zora properly which results to him facing Crow in a card game.

Expect a bit of heartwarming end, a kinda good ending for the Duel and well, more Zora.

Last episode summary:

Security continued to pursue the Jack imposter. Carly did her own investigation and discovered a second Jack. Yusei and Crow finds Trust Guardian on the shore just below where Jack had been spotted and they assume he’s dead. Kazama and the Duel Chasers spot Jack but they were unable to apprehend him. Suddenly, the real Jack Atlas appears and Duels his former self. Everyone was shocked not only seeing two Jacks but also four Red Dragon Archfiends, three of which are in the possession of Pseudo-Jack. With the help of the Crimson Dragon’s power, Jack defeats the Red Dragon Archfiends with his Majestic Red Dragon. Later, they find out that Pseudo-Jack is actually a robot, like Ghost. Meanwhile, Yliaster has progressed in their Circuit…

Episode 85:

The episode starts with Zora sighing in front of the love shack. The complete set of Signers (with Bruno and Rua) ask her what’s wrong. She explains (while being a Yusei fangirl) that it was because the grandfather cuckoo clock was going to get replaced. Crow then says that it was about time since that clock is broken anyway but Zora gets angered by that.

Main focus of today's episode. The cuckoo clock of Poppo Time.

Opening song: FREEDOM by La-Vie

Inside the garage, Bruno was doing maintenance on the D-Wheels. While they were talking, an unknown voice gets mixed in their conversations, complimenting the wings on Black Bird and Wheel of Fortune’s unique shape. After a while, they all start taking notice and looks at the garage entrance.

Kiryu? You became blonde?!

They all wonder who that guy might be. Bruno suspects it’s a rival team from the WRGP. Jack then gets up and tells the guy that their garage is off-limits to people other than their group. The guy laughs and tells them it was formerly his room. He now introduces himself as Leo, Poppo Time’s son. Poppo Time? It’s the name of Yusei’s love shack (and sometimes garage). I didn’t mention it before? Well, that was because I didn’t know it actually had a proper name!

By the way, say hello to the Character of the Week: Leo.

Now they get it. This is the same son that Zora’s been talking about. When she looks at Crow, she is reminded of her son, which is why she always gets cranky around Crow because her son was no-good.

Did you see that?! Crow just pulled off something you wouldn't normally see in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Leo explains that he was out for three years to train. In a flashback, it is revealed that when the clock had stopped working, Leo tried to fix it but failed. Zora complained about how Leo’s father wasn’t even able to fix it. They argued and Leo left.

But now, things have changed. Leo proudly tells them that during those 3 years of absence, he has been training under a clock worker. He is now a genius clock repairer. Jack then tells him to go and talk to Zora now and fix the clock but Leo hesitates. Aki speaks up and tells them Leo is worried that if he meets Zora, they might argue again. She knows this from personal experience

Suddenly, Leo holds Aki’s hands and says how wonderful that she understands. Yusei goes defensive and pulls Leo back (evidence of Yusei x Aki, you say? How about pulling a guy who held the girl’s hand away for absolutely no reason at all?) Yusei keeps a straight face and tells Leo that he should hurry up then, the clock is planned to be removed. Leo panics and then runs out, saying he has not much time.

Aki and Yusei stop him to remind him about his outfit. He should dress up more appropriately.

Now Leo is wearing formal attire. He doesn’t know how to tie his necktie properly and Jack comes to the rescue, pulling all the air out of Leo…

"I should be the only blonde around this part of the streets, mofo!"

Aki takes over and arranges it properly. Now it’s time for the moment of truth. Leo walks in through Zora’s office and Yusei and company watch from the glass store window. Leo starts off good but then gets off-track and reveals a bit of truth, saying that he only saw a clock being repairing on the street and asked how to do it, thinking maybe he can do it as well. Before any of them gets the chance to make a witty comment, Leo is chased by Zora out with a wooden chair. Zora then exclaims that Leo broke the clock in the first place.

The group is shocked. They ask Leo for the truth about 3 years ago and he reveals it. It seems during maintenance of the clock, Leo was complaining about doing by hand and not by machinery. He noticed a gear that isn’t moving so he hammers it. The gear moves but another one stops so he hammers it again. The process continues until he hammers everything and then the clock suddenly fails to work. Zora is completely angered and tells Leo that she’s disowning him as a son.

Leo runs away, almost crying and says he won’t ever come back. Crow runs after him and tells him what he’s been training 3 years for. Leo says he’ll forget it. He doesn’t want to work for an unappreciative mother. Crow gets a bit angry and challenges Leo on a Duel. If Leo wins, Leo can leave to wherever he wants, but if Crow wins, Leo will stay and apologize to Zora. Crow explains that Zora is like a mother to all of them (what ever happened to Martha?) so a person who hurts their mother should go through him. Leo gladly accepts the Duel.

Jack says that Crow is trying to make Leo apologize by force (like you’re one to talk, JACK.). Yusei doesn’t think so. He knows Crow has a plan.

Crow asks Leo if he has ever talked to Zora long. Leo tells him that it’s Zora who wouldn’t listen to what he says. Crow then continues saying that he will await for Leo’s answer after the end of their Duel.

Leo explains how Clock Knight monsters work. They use a Coin Toss system to provide positive and negative effects for the user. When the result is heads, the Clock Knight monster will receive 1200 ATK. But if the result is tails, the Clock Knight monster is immediately destroyed. Another thing is that if there is another Clock Knight monster present on the field, the Coin Toss can be done another time if the result is unfavorable.

Continuing Leo's turn:
- Activates Clock Knight No. 12's effect. The result is tails.
- Activates Clock Knight No. 12's second effect to do another Coin Toss. This time, the result is heads. Clock Knight No. 12 receives a 1200 ATK boost (2400 ATK).

Never heard of Lightning Vortex or at least Mirror Force?!

During the flashback montage of Leo working on clocks while away for 3 years, it seems it wasn’t all what he told them. He sucked as a clock repairer. Every night he stayed up to work on clocks. In reality, he doesn’t have the courage to fix his father’s clock nor even apologize to Zora. Leo then continues the card game and draws…

Eh... good enough...

He mentions that it is his father’s card. He then remembers the time when his father gave it to him. He was crying under a tree because Zora was mad again at him for getting into trouble at school. His father gives him the card, Time Wizard. It seems had always wanted that card before. His father explains that Zora is just like because she loves him.

- Uses its effect, the Time Roulette. We all know what that does!

Retro time! The Key Card of the Week making its appearance!

Due to Time Wizard, Leo somehow sees all the times when he was a little kid with Zora and his father. He would always be happy when he sees his father working on clocks. It was his dream as well. His father told him to pick the path that he thinks is right and stick to it until the end.

Continuing Leo's turn:
- Time Roulette is successful, Time Wizard destroys Crow's Blackwing Armor Master.
- Monster Clock and Clock Knight No. 12 attack directly.

At that point, Yusei and Jack knows that Crow has already read the situation. They know that Crow’s Trap Card could bring about a reversal but…

Continuing Leo's turn:
- Crow does not respond with his Trap Card.
- Crow takes all the hits and loses the Duel (Crow: 0 LP).
- Leo wins.

Rua and Ruka couldn’t believe it and so can’t I! I mean, it’s been 3/4 of the episode and this is the first time they actually said something!

Crow then speaks up, telling Leo that he can do whatever he wants, as promised in the Duel. He can leave for wherever. Leo then starts crying. He says he won’t leave. His mother is there, his father’s precious clock is also there, he doesn’t have a place like that anymore. That’s his only important place in his life. He’s ashamed. Ashamed that he couldn’t fix the clock that his father made. Ashamed that he couldn’t even do it even after his father died. Ashamed that he wasn’t able to live up to his mother’s expectations. He runs off inside the house, yelling out his frustration but he promises to fix the clock.

Yusei and Jack approach Crow, who they know that lost on purpose. They hear Zora muttering, that she will trust her son this time.

Later that day, the clock starts to move. Rua and Ruka see this and they both get excited. Such cute kids~ Soon, everyone sees the clock and Bruno is more excited than usual. Leo pops out beside the building and Zora runs over to hug him. They both cried.

Aww, happy end~

Yusei pats Crow for a job well done.

Leo’s dad is… Jounouchi/Joey Wheeler?!

As much as I don’t like filler episodes, this is one of the better ones. I like how the drama of this episode worked out. Humor is still in effect, but it’s still a bit touching, if you ask me.

But yeah, it’s just your regular filler episode. It’s card games + drama. ZoraxCrow anyone???

Anyway, we’ll probably see Ghibli be released in the upcoming The Shining Darkness pack.
