The other night I checked out Sushi Uo, a new sushi spot in the LES.   It was lovely.  Discreetly located just above Bar 151 on Rivington Street, Sushi Uo is a small cozy sushi bar worth checking out in a neighborhood where sushi is scarce.  Former Morimoto sushi chef, David Bouhadana, serves up tasty appetizers, similar to choices from places like Nobu and Bond Street.   Our favorite was the spicy sweet and sour rock shrimp.

The sushi itself was all super fresh.  The rolls were interesting as well… Creations like Salmon Tempura Asparagus and creamy mustard sauce and Lightly Broiled Whitefish with asparagus and enoki went over very well at our table.  Also, it’s nice to leave the East Village once in a while and have a crabmeat roll made with real crabmeat.

After reading a few reviews online I have to admit that I was expecting a bigger, “trendier” space… However, I was not at all disappointed with Sushi Uo.  Walking into what looks like an apartment building, Sushi Uo is a small, tranquil space.  While Sushi Uo is not my favorite restaurant in this area; the food was nice and fresh, the servers were knowledgeable and spoke perfect English, which is hard to come by when we’re talking good, affordable sushi.  And, the atmosphere was just right for three girls to catch up on a Sunday night.  I think Sushi Uo would be a great date spot any other night, and its convenient location on Rivington and Clinton is perfect for after dinner drinking binges.

The prices are fair also, for about $40 each; three of us split two appetizers, three rolls, and had two drinks each.

Este post es algo tramposo pues no se trata de alsun asunto o tema particular. Solamente encontre esta buena foto y quise compartirlas con ustedes.  ¿ A poco la zorrita de la foto tiene un par de piernotas capaz de provocar infartos? Sin embargo, a la que le debemos dar las gracias es a su amiga de rosita (que se ve que tambien esta potable), la cual, segun se ve, fue la que animo a su amiga carnosa a mostrar su fenomenal par de apendices. ¡Gracias por ser tan cooperativa, ojala hubiera mas mujeres como tu… la neta!

Roberto Guzman Rosado Jr. – better known as the rapper Tru Life – was arrested three days ago for the June 15 stabbings that left a second victim in critical condition.

The 33-year-old is jailed on Rikers Island on charges of murder, assault and weapons possession, police said. Rosado’s brother, Marcus, also surrendered Wednesday night at his lawyer’s office, sources said Thursday. Marcus Rosado is to be arraigned on murder charges.
The stabbings occurred around 9:30 a.m. as part of an ongoing dispute that began earlier at Club Pasha on W. 46th St., police sources said. Rosado and his brother are accused of chasing Jason Gray, 30, and Christopher Guerrero, 20, into the lobby of a building on E. 26th St. Cops said the duo pulled knives and stabbed Guerrero in the stomach and Gray in the chest. Guerrero died of his wounds; Gray was critically injured. The original disagreement involved Black and Marcus Rosado brother, the sources said.
Tru Life was signed to a six-figure deal in 2005 by Jay-Z, who was won over by Rosado’s braggadocio in a face-to-face meeting. Rosado told the hip-hop mogul that he was pronounced legally dead at Bellevue Hospital following a shooting, but survived.

Ever since I went to a Filipino house party back last summer in Chicago I’d been looking for a good place for some Filipino noodles & eggrolls.  Those handmade dishes had a distinct flavor to them that hit a different note than other asian dishes I’ve tried.  I’ve never seen a Filipino restaurant in the city to except for the crappy one down the street from me so,  when my coworker suggested Kuma Inn for good Filipino food I was psyched.  First of all, the restaurant is pretty tricky to find if you’re not paying attention since it’s on the second floor with no signs on the dark block of Ludlow st. in LES.  The upstairs dining area was quite decent with ample seating and nice intimate lights.   Much to my surprise after glancing at the menu, this restaurant was more of a pan-asian food with tapas style dishes. *sigh*arg…I need my NOODLES & EGGROLLS!!

Despite my utter disappointment, I had to admit they had great selection of small plates (asian tapas) and apparently much of the dishes are inspired by Chef’s parent’s Filipino cooking.  So, pseudo-Filipino food.  We ended up getting the tiger shrimp, dorado fish, coconut rice, tuna tartar, & my personal favorites the Chinese sausage & fried pork belly. I would definitely go back to this place for my favorite dishes…big fat delicious juicy chunks of PORK BELLY, FRIED …SERIOUSLY?! Wow. Extra bonus for Kuma Inn is that they have BYOB with a small corkage fee. Nice.  Even after a good meal here, I haven’t forgot that I have to keep on searching for my noodles and eggrolls.  Suggestions are welcome.

sekarang sepupuku nginep di rumah buat nemenin waktu ortuku pergi haji. rajin banget, jadi aku kena radiasi. hha… yah, selain itu juga semakin ke sini suasana udah semakin panas. dan aku masih belum apa2nya sekarang untuk mencapai tujuan utamaku buat saat ini.

Senin sampe minggu bisa dibilang sekarang udah ga ada hari yg bener2 sante. salah sebenernya buat mikirin sante. say no tu leha-leha lah… UN maju, pendaftaran univ udah di depan mata. ngerjain soal latihan UM aja ga ada yg bisa. gimana nih… pulang sekolah kalo ga pengayaan bimbel. abis itu siap2 buatt keperluan besoknya, kalo sempet ngerjain PR atau ngapa2in ga jelas, trus malem baca2 buat besok atau belajar materi yg ga bisa. ga efektif juga sebenernya, udah cape, ngantuk pula. tapi harus dipaksain. paling enggak ada lah yg masuk dikit2, atau minimal tau apa aja yg bakal dipelajari di sekolah. daripada tidur. aku tidur ga tidur sama aja, bangun ga ngerasa tambah seger atau apa. tidur 6 atau 8 jam sama aja buat aku. hha…

senin bimbel, selasa pengayaan, rabu bimbel, kamis pengayaan, jumat bimbel, sabtu setengah kosong (banyak banget pekerjaan yg harus dilakukan pada hari sabtu, yg mana bukan belajar), minggu pagi sampe siang belajar nyetir, siang sampe magrib bimbel minggu. malem yg tersisa. malem pun udah aku bilang tadi, capek dan ngantuk. otak pun udah lola dan kemampuannya tinggal setengah. tapi gini2 masih mikrin plurk loh, seenggaknya sehari sekali, tapi itu pun selain hari sabtu lewat hape terus…. (tanpa main respon)

masih banyak temenku yg punya aktifitas jauh lebih banyak dari aku. tapi dasarnya dari SD sampe SMA kelas 2, aku juaraaang banget yg namanya les. jadi kerasanya berat, kaya belum menyatu sama hidupku. juga emang perjuangan kelas 3 SMA, 3 SMP, sama 6SD jauh beda. kelas 6 sama 9 belajar buat dapet sekolah lanjutan yg bagus. itu pun masih kawasan lokal. lha kalo SMA? tujuannya universitas, tempat yg menentukan utk mengumpulkan bekal buat masa kerja nanti, masa depan kita, yg levelnya udah nasional. se indonesia raya kebanyakan ngincer univ yg kita pengen. jadi, masih harus membangkitkan hidden power dalam diriku yg selama ini masih terkubur (semakin lama terkubur semakin dalam).  aku ngerasa belum terlalu maksimal. masih ada kabel yg belum aku colokin, masih ada laci yg belum aku buka, masih ada kardus yg belum aku pake. untuk sekarang aku masih mau buka paksa itu semua, untuk menggabungkannya dan menggunakannya untuk misiku saat ini….

We went for a walk around and we decided to buy some comic books at Futurama, the temple of the graphic novel. The selections for the day were: “First Times” 10 erotic tales by La Cúpula Editorial and Kamikaze Pizzeria.

After that Ale and I got incredibly hungry so we looked for a place to grab a bite. We recommend:

- Orient Xpress: with an 11 euro menu and exquisite japanese noodles (udon)
- Mandrágora: A group of vegans, a bit hard to find, but worth it. You can have a great meal for 7 euros on weekdays. It’s between Calle Portal de Valldigna and Calle Mare Vella.

Damos una vuelta y decidimos comprarnos unos cómics en Futurama, el templo de la novela gráfica. Las elecciones del día fueron: “Primeras Veces” 10 relatos eróticos de Ed. La Cúpula y Pizzeria Kamikaze.

Después de eso, a Ale y a mí nos entra un hambre feroz, así que buscamos un sitio para comer. Os recomendamos:

- Orient Xpress: 11 euros menú y unos exquisitos fideos japoneses (udon)
- La Mandrágora: Un colectivo vegano, algo difícil de encontrar, pero que vale la pena. Se puede comer exquisitamente por unos 7 euros entre semana. Está entre la Calle Portal de Valldigna esquina con la Calle Mare Vella.

¡Colosal, simplemente colosal! No hay mejor forma de describir a esta enorme y suculente hembra, que muy generosamente muestra con orgullo sus gigantesco ataque frontal.
