I have started out my winter break by getting sick.  I went to bed, but tossed and turned and only fell asleep maybe around 4 am, and woke up around 6:30 a.m.  Then I couldn’t sleep again. So I decided to update this thing.

I might not update this thing too much this winter break, but maybe I will. Chances are it will mostly be RO related.

The parents did flip a table over losing the cellphone though. Especially the mother..who I find to be a hypocrite because she loses things a lot more than I do.  I didn’t mention this before, but she currently lost her purse so she’s been pretty crazy and worrying about someone using her things via identity theft.

So basically there has been much family drama already, and it’s gotten pretty ‘hardcore’.

In other news, I started playing RO again…since Saturday night. All I have to say is damn there’s a lot of drama lama now. Seriously guys? It’s a game you’re not getting paid to play.  I think the only time you really should QQ and take a game seriously is if you’re a professional gamer or someone who enters tourneys & plays games to get PAID. So calm down guys. Calm down. Enjoy yourselves because that’s what games are for.

I kind of… got lazy during finals and played RO for maybe an hour with Kev because there was a drop event earlier in the week. No cards…

but got levels!

Also made a new headgear. I collected maneater blossoms when I used to level at Geos so they went to use in the end.

On sunday we decided to do some leveling. Kev wanted a new champ, so he made a new monk named Rilakkuma! ha. Cute.

Kev and I share my alt account, so though it’s kind of mine.. it’s also his.  So I asked what character I should level and he said my 2nd scholar (she’s still a sage). So we alternated every “Wayne” till they reached 90.

We got a Pasana!

After 2 days, we got Kev’s monk to 90! xcore man xcore (not really).  We would have 99′d him via my High Wizard if I wasn’t sick.

The sage started at 69 since I made her last exp event. We got her to 90 too, so goal met for the few days we had to play.

Kev was opening up Lucky boxes/poring boxes.. and I looked in my paypal account and had $6 in there.. so decided to use it since I wouldn’t use it for anything else. I got 2 boxes out of it and got a party hard pack & snow man hat. I’m content. I would like a shark hat though XD it’s cute.

Kev got a kafra band! haha. My peco be eating it nom nom nom.

After we went to break some bloody branches with Dray. Originally it was just Kev, Dray and myself but we got a Valk Rangdris and had to get a second HP to help, so Death came.  Then Paen got online, and Dray asked if she had any BBs, and so we broke hers too.

It got kind of busy, so I had to bring my third HP (on alt acct) to heal myself instead of using pots.

Paen and Kev both got Valks. Kev got a full drop though – everything but a card that is.

These were my drops from my bbs I broke. I am glad to get a second Bloody Axe because they are nice for the agi walking – so it’ll go to my alt account merchant.

It looks like were holding hands.

Anyways, while I have been gone UTM’s alliance joined forces with EA’s alliance.. and this is why there is so much guild drama now. Not drama within our alliances.. but more so like the outside guilds. not in the alliances.  So WoE is apparently more hardcore now.  It’ll be my first time being in a very busy alliance.

Before break ends I kind of want to.. get my non trans’ & tran’s to 9x. Although I would like to finally 99 my gypsy since shes so close to 99. We shall see.

Kev wants to trans his second priest & his second monk.. & possibly 99 them. We’ll see about that too .

Been sitting on the internet at work and wondered how does a person know when you will hit the next level of “Trophies”.
So your profile displays how many Trophies you’ve earned, how many of which type – platinum, gold, silver, or bronze – you have, and what your current “level” is.

With all the threads regarding being a trophy whore or not etc, i went out to search how this whole progress happens.

Points:
A is worth 15 Points
A is worth 30 Points
A is worth 90 Points
A is worth 180 points

Levels:
Level 1 – 0 pts
Level 2 – 200 pts
Level 3 – 600 pts
Level 4 – 1200 pts
Level 5 – 2400 pts
Level 6 – 4000 pts
Level 7 – 6000 pts
Level 8 – 8000 pts
Level 9 – 10000 pts
Level 10 – 12000 pts
Level 11 – 14000 pts
Level 12 – 16000 pts
Level 13 – 24000 pts
Level 14 – 32000 pts
Level 15 – 40000 pts
Level 16 – 48000 pts
Level 17 – 56000 pts
Level 18 – 64000 pts
Level 19 – 72000 pts
Level 20 – 80000 pts

It takes 8,000 points between levels after 20 also.

So that means that if you have 2 Gold Trophies, 7 Silver Trophies and 20 Bronze Trophies you would have 690 points (300 [20x15] + 210 [7x30] + 180 [2x90] = 690)
thus – level 3 with a small progress bar.

On my current one -

I have:
69 bronze
7 silver
2 gold
0 platinum

so…
69 x 15 = 1035
7 x 30 = 210
2 x 90 = 180

Total = 1425

Since i bought my PS3, i told myself that i want to finish each game i buy (not like on my PC) so i was looking at doing it, but now that i have found trophies…i will take more care to where my hard earned cash/peanuts are going and now playing through the game at least twice to collect every trophy!

Now these gaming/trophy cards are popping up all over the place showing more and more people like to brag about their stats, thus that user is playing the game to the fullest.
I have not achieved platinum yet, but i feel warm inside knowing i got something right when i hear that trophy sound in the background.

WOOT!! I randomly leveled up my slayer multiple times ina row all in about 20 minutes. Here are all of the screenshots.

This was really cool for me because I have never really made more than one level up in a day since I reached about level 45.

I got 61 defense which mean I now have 61 Attack, Strength, and Defense. Now that I have all these stats I should probably make a guide but I’m still waiting for one more training method.

I got 61 attack. YAY!!! I have a new training method also, killing level 50 spiders!!! I got over 5k EXP in about 4 minutes and they are aggressive for about 7 minutes which is a fair amount of EXP. At least for me.

If you were wondering yes I did take this with the Windows Snipping Utility because it is easy to use and fast.

Using Decorations to Get to the Next Level in FarmVille

There are a few decorations that have a high XP when purchasing them. Then there are some that have a lower XP but cost less and are worth purchasing for the XPs. If you are
looking to level up on FarmVille and have coins to spare, read the following tips.

FarmVille Tip – Leveling Up With Hay Bales

If you need 100 or so points to level up, hay bales would be the way to go. Hay bales only cost 100 coins in FarmVille and you will get 5 XPs for each hay bale you purchase. So, in order to get your 100 XPs, you would need to purchase 20 hay bales. 20 hay bales at 100 coins each would put you at spending 2,000 coins.

FarmVille Tip – Leveling Up with Larger Items

If you need more than 100 XPs and do not want to purchase all of those hay bales, you may want to consider going with the larger items. The larger items will cost you a bit more, but you won’t have hay bales every where. If you are purchasing items just to level up, make sure that you have plenty of money to blow. If you do not have money to blow, simply plow, plant, harvest, and visit neighbors to level up. Below you will find some of the larger decoration items that will earn you high amounts of XPs.

Tractor, Harvester, & Seeder

All three of the vehicles will give you 300 XPs each when you purchase them. Each vehicle will cost you 30,000 coins. If you purchase a tractor, you will pay 30,000 coins and get 300 XPs. Same with the others. So, if you purchase all three, you will spend 90,000 coins and get 900 XPs.

Small Pond

The small pond will cost you 5,000 coins and you will receive 50 XPs. So, if you need to level up by 50 or so XPs and don’t want to buy a lot of hay bales, you could purchase a pond to place on your farm. However, you would save money by purchasing hay bales instead of the small pond.

Barrel Wagon

The Barrel Wagon will give you 40 XPs when you purchase it. The cost of the Barrel Wagon is 4,000 coins. Again, buying the hay bales would be a lot cheaper than purchasing a Barrel Wagon just to level up. You could purchase 8 hay bales to get the same amount of XPs as the barrel wagon.

Hello! I finally got my magic up and I did it all at once to, not over days or weeks. Just a matter of minutes. If your wondering how I did this I was at the circus (I go every week) and I leveled up Magic, Range, and Agility. If your looking to level up magic then use the levitation magic. I used it and got over 10k exp!!!

I got this by cutting yews and willows and made over 40k in the process.

I was killing Ice Giants yesterday and just by luck that was my slayer task. By the end of the day I had leveled up slayer twice. Here is a screen shot from my skill tab because I unfortunately missed both the little messages that pop up…

Hello! I finally got level 56 fishing, and when I say finally I mean I wasn’t trying to and it just happened! Sadly though I did not get a screenshot of this event because my browser crashed about 12 seconds after me getting level 56. I have updated the stat sigs and after I level up some other levels I’m going to try to make a skill guide or money making guide. (That will be an epic fail)

YAY!!! I finally got level 64 wood cutting! I’ve been training it alot recently because I want level 80 for the saw mill.

I got level 64 by cutting yews, which it turns out I’ve made over 100k in the process!!! (Yews have been on a slight rise recently)

I think I’m going to follow this WC thing a little more closely. I mean 100k for 1 level, thats kinda high in my book.

The site that Britton mentioned for those free iPhone games is Appvent Calendar, which is actually a pretty clever and fitting name. Blacksmith Games, the people behind this freebie treasure trove, is handing out a new free iPhone game each day until Christmas, so get them while they last!

And just for the record, I do play a lot of sports games when I get the chance; find me back in 2006, and you’ll rarely see me not playing a 2K sports game. I just don’t own a lot of them because given a choice between a barely revised annual iteration of Madden or an epic cinematic experience like Uncharted 2, I’ll choose Uncharted 2.

Also, just to clarify, I was talking about playing with multiple people on the same team with sports games in the podcast. 4 players with FIFA or NHL = fun, 4 players with NBA = trouble, and, just for completeness, 4 players with a football game = boring for everyone except the quarterback.

Que Modern Warfare 2 é um jogão, todo mundo sabe. Que todos os reviews estão dando ótimas notas, não é mais novidade pra ninguém. Que as vendas estão quebrando recordes e enchendo os cofres da Activision e Infinity ward, todos os sites já falaram. Que apesar disso elas sacanearam os jogadores de PC com o aumento do preço da versão normal, por não ter versões de colecionador iguais as do console, limitar o multiplayer e retirar os servidores dedicados, também é notícia velha. Mas apesar de ficar chateado por conta dos meus amigos que utilizam PC, não tinha me sentido lesado/sacaneado pela empresa e mantive meu hype e respeito inabalados, enquanto esperava chegar a cópia do blockbuster para Xbox 360. Mas aí ela resolveu sacanear com todo mundo, e isso eu não li em lugar nenhum.

E eis que finalmente chega o tão esperado pacote. Junto com Modern Warfare 2 e Borderlands. Vou abrindo as caixinhas, começando pelo menos esperado, Borderlands:

Linda. Colorida. Completa. 20 páginas. E ainda tem a arte do jogo na parte de dentro da caixa. Perfeito.

Por último o mais esperado. Modern Warfare 2. E a decepção.

É isso mesmo que você está vendo. O manual está em preto e branco, e tem míseras 6 páginas. 6 PÁGINAS. Fiquei tão decepcionado que ainda não tive coragem de rodar o jogo. Ta encostado há mais de uma semana. Um crime, eu sei. Uma heresia, diriam alguns.

Agora eu me pergunto: o que faz uma empresa do porte da Activision sair com um material vagabundo desses? Medo de prejuízo não foi, já que as pré-vendas deixaram bem claro que o jogo seria um sucesso. Eu, definitamente, não entendo.

Mas, e vocês? Observam e analisam a qualidade do material completo ou apenas a qualidade do jogo?

Enquanto vocês discutem, vou tentar fazer alguns gols no Fifa 10, que acabou de chegar, para ver se a raiva passa…

O macaco caiu do galho

Embora tenha estreado no mesmo jogo que Mario, Donkey Kong é mais velho que o encanador. O título no qual apareceu pela primeira vez leva o seu nome e o heróis que tentava resgatar Pauline nem mesmo tinha o nome do principal mascote da Nintendo. Mesmo em segundo plano, o macacão chegou aos consoles, mesmo que só na geração 16 bits, mas começou fazendo barulho. Donkey Kong Country é considerado um dos melhores e mais bonitos jogos de plataforma do Super NES e abriu as portas para a carreira bem sucedida do gorila – só até o Gamecube.

Apesar de as continuações do título do Super NES – Donkey Kong Country 2 e Donkey Kong Country 3 – não terem DK como um personagem jogável, estão entre os melhores da bibilioteca do macacão. O melhor deles, entretanto, viria na passagem para as três dimensões. Donkey Kong 64 era tão bem feito, completo e divertido que gerou especulações sobre tomar o posto de The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time como o melhor título para o console. Se não o fez, ficou muito próximo disso e marcou com louvor a entrada do gorila na nova geração. Mas DK64 também ficou marcado como o fim da participação da excelente Rare – produtora de Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark e Banjo Kazooie/Banjo Tooie – no desenvolvimento de seus jogos.

A infelicidade da Nintendo com o Gamecube frente ao Playstation 2 da Sony fez os personagens de Shigeru Miyamoto terem uma vida difícil, mas todos ganharam títulos de qualidade e conseguiram chegar à geração seguinte sustentando seu legado. Mario, como sempre, jamais deixou de ganhar títulos plataformas espetaculares e de estrelar diferentes modalidades esportivas. Link ganhou uma roupagem nova com Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker e posteriormente teve sua mais épica aventura com Twilight Princess. Samus, que passou em branco pelo Nintendo 64, foi levada a um nível muito superior com Metroid Prime. Donkey Kong apareceu em Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, um jogo plataforma 2D como os anteriores, com alguns elementos novos e boa aceitação, principalmente por ter a inovação dos controles-bongôs desenvolvidos especialmente para esse título. Mas se DK64 marcou o ápice do macacão, o Donkey Kong do Gamecube marcou o fim da era de ouro do personagem.

Não fosse pelos remakes, pelas aparições nas corridas, festas e esportes de Mario e pelo estrondoso sucesso da série Super Smash Bros., Donkey Kong estaria esquecido na nova geração de consoles. No Wii, tem seu nome estampado em um jogo de corrida fraco, sem qualquer elemento plataforma, até irritante dado à tentativa de adaptar os movimentos do Wiimote aos comandos do jogo. No DS, continuou no 2D com Donkey Kong Jungle Climber, um jogo até que interessante devido à mecânica semelhante a DK: King of Swing, para o Gameboy Advance, mas ofuscado pelos games dos outros mascotes nintendistas – todos muito bons.

O detalhe é que até o DK64, os jogos foram produzidos pela Rare, enquanto o do Gamecube foi feito pela própria Nintendo. Todos os outros que tiveram o macacão como personagem principal desde então foram produzidos pela Paon Corporation, que não desenvolveu nenhum título de peso para nenhum console. E então Donkey Kong pode estar fadado ao esquecimento e viver de aparições em Mario Karts e remakes para o Virtual Console.

Os fãs imploram à Nintendo: retomem o próximo Donkey Kong – há dois anos não é lançado um jogo com ele como protagonista – nos moldes antigos. E se for para deixá-lo nas mãos de um estúdio independente, que o façam com algum de confiança. Emboras estejamos em um momento do desenvolvimento de jogos no qual o 3D e o realismo imperam como diretrizes, os jogos 2D ainda têm sua força e seu charme e guardam um potencial imenso a ser explorado. É só olhar para Wario Land: Shake It! e New Super Mario Bros. Wii e perceber que a simplicidade e o apego às raízes pode valer a pena. É bom lembrar que o que faz de um jogo um grande sucesso é a diversão que ele proporciona aliada à tradição que ele carrega, principalmente se estivermos falando de algum personagem de bagagem como Donkey Kong.

The Level-Up Live’s main competitions are the online group tournaments for each of their games. On the side, there are a few artistic contests that offer generous prizes for the budding young artist or the hungry professional. This guide will help you win in these contests.

The first thing you have to remember that LU Live is a marketing event whose main objective is to sell their games to their target audience that consists mostly of adolescent males.

That being the point, the judges will most probably be marketing people and not artists. Therefore aesthetics will depend on what the target audience wants, rather than proficiency in artistic techniques.

This year, the contests will include Cosplay, Digital Art, Film Festival, Digital Photography. Digital art and photography  replaced the on-the spot art contests of the past.

Here are my recommendations:

Cosplay

Zeph "Cora" Espino

The Best Female is always the pretty one with the stage presence and the revealing costume.

The Crowd Favorite is always the girl with the more revealing costume, unless you do really something to gain attention, such as falling thru the stage.

The Best Male/Craftsmanship is always the guy with the really creative, elaborate, hard to make rubber armor costume.

Best Junior Cosplayer is always Alex Mei Alegria, by default.

The Frost Jokers

The Best Group is always the group who can entertain the audience the most with the right balance of stage fights and sexy comedy.
