A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.  He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.  At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.

“You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.

“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”

The American said, ‘The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”

“Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !”

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look.  Then he quietly explained, ”Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.”

Gwen,

I will apologize up front for the smack down that I am about to hand you.  I can’t sit by and let you or others like you continue unchallenged in your quest to tear down America and Americans through ignorance or malice.  I hope you will learn something from this and take it in the constructive way in which it is intended.

What is really ludicrous is that you and others like you who are blindly supporting Obama refuse to see reality when it slaps you in the face.

First, let’s get George W. Bush out of the way.  I voted for G.W.B., mostly because he wasn’t as BAD as the alternatives.  There are some things he did well, and many that he didn’t.  He didn’t use the veto power to control spending by both democrats, and republicans who turned into democrat-lite.  He did nothing to stop illegal immigration which is a huge drain on our country.  In fact, by allowing the farcical prosecution and incarceration of Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean to go down the way it did, he sent a strong message that he didn’t want the border controlled or illegal immigration stopped.  The thing Bush did the best was prosecute the War on Terror.  He didn’t do it perfectly, but he correctly recognized that engaging and defeating terrorists or other people who wish to destroy us was necessary to our survival.  No one is forgetting ANYTHING Bush did improperly while in office.  The liberal media won’t let that happen.  But at the same time, they will not report ANYTHING that he did right either.  The same media, movie stars, and politicians who publically called for or ignored the calls for the assassination of Bush, the hateful attacks on his family, and the generally uncivil, hateful treatment of the president absolutely REFUSE to objectively report anything.  When half of the democrats in congress openly booed President Bush during one of his speeches, the media was silent.  When one republican blurts out to Obama “you lie!” every liberal media outlet and all the politicians on the left were calling for this guy to resign.  When democrat Alan Grayson says that republicans want you to die, and calls conservatives “whores,” the media and the liberals don’t make a sound.  Hypocrites, all.

Now on to Obama.  Yes, he was handed a $400 plus billion deficit by Bush, who had been handed about $300 billion of that from Clinton, who had been handed…  Obama signed the idiotic stimulus as a senator, and has spent unimaginable amounts of money in the first 9 months of his occupation of the oval office.  In 9 months, he has more than doubled both the debt and deficit of this nation, WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM BUSH.  He has created more debt in 9 months than has been created in this nation since its founding, WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM BUSH.  Bush handed Obama a cogent plan/strategy for the war in Afghanistan, which Obama plagiarized and claimed as his own.  He has changed that policy twice.  And now that he is handling Afghanistan based on politics rather than sound military strategy, and is failing, he goes right back to the tired old song of blaming Bush.  Enough people are waking up to the fact that the kind of healthcare “reform” that Obama wants will destroy jobs, raise taxes, take away freedom and choice, make government bigger, increase governments presence in and control over our lives, and increase the cost of and reduce the quality and quantity of healthcare in America, so now he is having trouble rounding up the votes to pass it.  How do Obama and the democrats respond?  They attack honest, concerned Americans as obstructionists, hate mongers, fear mongers, Nazis, etc.  And then they blame Bush.  The way the democrats are pursuing healthcare “reform” is unconstitutional at nearly every turn, and Mr. Obama, who is supposedly a “constitutional scholar,” does nothing to prevent it.  Handing over control of large portions of our government to unelected, unaccountable czars who are circumventing the constitutional authority of two branches of government and abusing the authority of the third is something I would think a “constitutional scholar” would rail against unless he wanted it to happen.  Obama is about to sign a treaty that will subjugate America to a consortium of foreign governments, destroy American jobs and industry, and ship our wealth overseas.  The many lies he has told about cap-and-trade, healthcare, and other issues are well documented in his own words, yet liberals continue to deny the lies and cover them up.

You mentioned Obama’s “careful efforts to protect the Constitution.”  Please enlighten me as to what those efforts have been.  I have seen no evidence of such efforts.

Now to the part that really infuriates me.  America haters.  America EARNED her prosperity and success by the hard work and ingenuity of her people.  These people fled every other nation on earth to come to America where they could find REAL opportunity.  These people fled the kind of oppressive totalitarian governments that people like you are trying to drive us into becoming.  When liberated from that oppression and allowed to be creative, and to work with a hope of bettering their situation, they produced the highest standard of living, the most technical advancement, the most wealth, the highest degree of liberty ever seen in the history of the world, and have subsequently shared that liberty with billions of people around the world.  Who do you think defeated Germany in WW1 and the Nazis and Imperial Japanese in WW2, liberating untold millions from their murder and oppression?  Who do you think spreads the most money and humanitarian aid around the world?  WE DO! We send more money and aid to other countries (including those who hate us and are openly trying to hurt or destroy us), and provide more disaster relief than the NEXT 20 NATIONS COMBINED! And that’s just what the government spends from our tax money.  Private American citizens, the most charitable people on earth, donate more from their own personal wealth toward these causes than the next 10 nations GOVERNMENTS combined. And you have the gall to call Americans “immature, self-centered, fear-filled know-nothings?”  How dare you? Do you think an unproductive, communist/socialist nation with no moral compass would be sending this much aid around the world?  Look to all the other socialist and communist governments around the world if you really want an answer.  They aren’t doing squat except oppressing their own people.  When the government takes all of the wealth and possessions you have or produce, there is no longer an incentive to produce.  Tax revenues and jobs go down the toilet, and people go into survival mode.  Atlas shrugs.  That is what every other stagnant socialist nation around the world has been experiencing since the adoption of their socialist policies, and that is where we are heading now.  You obviously have bought into the often repeated liberal propaganda, and know little to nothing about how capitalism, socialism, or communism actually work or don’t work.  Should you actually be interested in learning, I can explain some of it to you and point you to several very good resources to start your journey of true education and enlightenment.  However, I suspect you are not as open minded as you and your fellow leftists claim to be.  You claim to be open minded, yet you (in the editorial sense) shout down everyone who voices an opinion that differs from yours.

And now to put the excrement flavored icing on your cow patty cake, you who probably worship no god besides government pretend to tell me how to worship mine?  Like most of your fellow liberals who are ignorant about who God really is, what He and His Bible actually say (in context), and about true unrevised history of what America has REALLY done to help others around the world, you are not in a position to tell me ANYTHING about God.  He does indeed tell us to love our neighbors.  On that topic, I will refer you back to the paragraph above.  He also told those preparing to stone a prostitute (sinner) that the person without sin could cast the first stone.  You castigate Christians and Americans for destroying America and oppressing the world.  First of all, you display your bias and ignorance.  Second of all, what makes YOU perfect and spotless enough to cast that first stone?  Are you giving away all you own to charity and international relief organizations?  Are you in the Peace Corp or some other organization and working for nothing simply for the joy of helping others?  Do you work at a job to earn money?  Do you own a car, television, house, or any other convenience that would IMPROVE your life?  What about the computer on which you typed your reply?  You and your fellow liberals grasp at Utopian ideals that are not based in reality OR in the Bible.  You have no moral compass other than that issued to you by an increasingly amoral government. You pretend to be smarter and more educated than the rest of us peasants, and think you are qualified to impose your beliefs on us.  It is always “do as I say, not as I do” with people like you.  Your liberal poster children Barack and Michelle tell us we must sacrifice while they “endure” their weekly Versailles style parties, jet around the world to apologize for American greatness (with vacations and shopping trips in Paris for Michelle and the kids on the side) all at tax payer, excuse me, SERF expense.  Your liberal politicians tell us we must submit to an oppressive medical system that few of us actually want, yet they SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDE THEMSELVES from having to be part of it.  YOU ARE HYPOCRITES!

Lastly, you command me and those like me to “grow up.”  The REAL “grownups” were/are the hard working, mostly God fearing people who founded this country and shaped it into the great nation it has been, and may be once again if we are able to shirk the bonds of liberalism, socialism, and communism now being thrust upon us.  The grownups didn’t do such a great job of raising some of their children.  Some of those children turned out to be unappreciative, disrespectful, under educated little brats who don’t know where their prosperity comes from.  While the grownups napped, the brats took over.  Now those liberal/socialist/communist brats are running our nation into the ground.  It is you, Gwendoline, and those like you who are the ones who need to grow up.  Reality is much different than you have led yourself to believe, and your childish, Utopian dreams and ideals are destroying America.

The Enemies of Islam

All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him and seek His aid and forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evil in ourselves and from our bad deeds. He whom Allah guides cannot be led astray, and he who is led astray cannot be guided. The Enemies of Islaam has only one mission which is to deceive Muslims and rob us from our rights, our lands and our resources, we are the slaves of the Almighty Allah and our enemies wants to make us their slaves, they desire to rule us and rape us in every filthy way they see fit, our enemies hate Islaam they hate the Holy Quran, they hate our beloved Nabi Sallallahu Alahi Wa’salaam in no possible way can they be considered as friends of ours, they will deceive you with lies and fake actions just to bend you over. The prise for them is always delivered by a sliced delusional opinion of the hypocritical thought to be leaders, who are nothing but the same as our enemies; they (the hypocrites) through their ignorance and stupidity justify the invasions of our enemies in our homes by calling it liberation how on earth is killing our own people and having our enemies kill our brothers and sisters a liberation? Islamic liberation is when we are rid from oppressors and have freedom to fully practice our religion and engage in Jihad when the compulsory need arises.

We have to destroy this evil in our neighbourhoods because they do not belong there, it is not their place and they are not wanted or needed here they are not of us. If our enemies had any intention of moving towards world peace and harmony they would not have invaded our lands and mingle in the matters which concerns Muslims only, but instead they want to house their own thoughts on us by force and by lies, they lure and win over those already not associated with Islaam I make reference to the hypocrites who sits at the negotiating table with their friends our enemies.

Our enemies have been for many years in a prolonged campaign against what they openly call Islamic fundamentalists which in fact clearly mean that they are fully against the basis of Islaam in its original form, they want to implement their Kufr laws upon us instead of the divine law the Shariah of Allah, the fact is true that Islaam is a threat its enemies because the establishment of True Islaam and the housing of the Global Islamic State would mean that they lose power in world affairs, if our enemies gets an upper hand over us and ends up controlling and owning our lands, resources and our people they will then turn and engage immediately in an all our war with the land of Russiastan (Russia) by meddling in the affairs of Moscow and if the people of Russiastan do not approve of their meddling they (our enemies) will by force try and make them bend over to their rule, as for the lands of Africa and South Ameracastan are nor considered as threats but are seen as walkover slaves to our enemies who have been enslaving these lands for many years whereas we have been fighting for their liberation and not just theirs but the liberation of the entire world by means of true peace and justice and the perfect and beautiful governance of Islamic Shariah which places all of mankind as equal.

As Muslims we are not to make friendship agreements with our enemies nor security agreements with them, those who befriend them are of them.

And for those who are ignorant of the words “Our Enemies” they will not be included under the protection of the UMN

I’ve never really been a big fan of having my picture taken. In the past I have been on of those girls that runs from the camera (which just makes people bug you about it more) and have only really ever showcased photos of myself from the angle that i have mastered that makes me look my best. When i do get stuck in the crossfire of a camera toting friend or family member and I accept that there is no escape I ham it up and don’t take it seriously. Its a defenise mechanism, if i’m being a dork its ok for it to not be an attractive photo, but if I were to actually try and look good and fail at that attempt then thats when things get embarassing. This is stupid, and has been one of the more silly things I have done in my life. People are usually much harder on themselves when they see photos of themselves then anyone else looking at the photo ever would be, and its time I got over it.

I was brainstorming and taping my Curvy TV Show for The Curve Network this past weekend, which will air Tuesday September 8th at 8PM EST, and got on a kick about conidence and decided to play it up to the extreme and do things I wouldn’t normally do.  One of the things I spoke about was “Skinny Fantasies” and how you shouldn’t really have them, they should be YOUR LIFE, and decided to put myself out there and do the one thing I’ve ever let my weight hinder me from doing and decided to have some scantly clad photos taken. I’m lucky enough the Nightrider is a photographer and was willing to help me with my sexy photo shoot and we picked out some outfits and hit the bedroom for some photo time.

This is probably one of the best things I have ever done to liberate myself. I have never felt as sexy as I did while shooting those photos. I was popping my booty out, showcasing the girls to their best extent, making my sexy model faces and “smiling with my eyes” as Tyra would say and had a blast doing it. After we were done shooting I sat down to go through the photos and do some minor editing (brightness and such) and to my disbelief I didn’t sit their and pick myself apart. Sure some of the photos weren’t my best angles or maybe weren’t the cream of the crop but I could still see the beauty in them and for the first time ever could see myself the way i know Nightrider must see me. It was a great feeling and totally worth it. By taking my clothes off (not all of them!) it helped me to shed any last bit of self hate I had left and hopefully can set the path for others by what I did. Now I’m not saying we should all get down to our undies and take photos but maybe we should just allow ourselves to be photographed more often, to look at pictures of ourselves with less criticism and to see ourselves as the people that love us see us!

Here is a shot that i took that is showing a little to much areola for the webshow on Tuesday but is one that I am proud of and wanted to share with you!

Over the BC Day long weekend, Definium Design is proud to “Educate, Liberate and Celebrate” with one of our longtime clients, Vancouver Pride Society (VPS), while they host Vancouver’s largest yearly event, Pride Parade 2009.

We have been involved and working closely with the VPS to develop and design the graphics and identity system for their 2008 – 2011 season, a relationship and a client we are thrilled to work with over the years. Stay tuned over the next two years as Definium Design and Vancouver Pride Society reveal the graphics for VPS’s “Educate, Liberate, Celebrate” campaign.

How do you recognize leadership gifts in someone? You may have read John Maxwell’s scale of leadership. I’m not sure how much I agree with the concept or his analysis of the scale, but it’s a useful device to make an observation from my own experience. If you’re a 7 on the leadership scale and you have an 8 working under you, they will likely be a thorn in your side.

How exactly will that manifest itself? They might be the one who critiques everything you do. They might take initiative on projects you didn’t want them working on. They might be the one who takes the inch and turns it into a mile. They might go around the system instead of working within the boundaries. There are leadership traits on display in every one of those abuses of the supervisory relationship.

There are three choices for the manager, then.

1. You can either call it leadership and give them opportunities to grow their abilities in a healthy setting.
2. You can liberate them so they can move on to a job where they can better utilize their “gifts.”
3. Or you can suppress their initiative.

The third leads to broken trust, continued pain and crushed spirits. I’ve been in that position, and I suggest that there are really only two choices for a person like this.

Let me suggest one possible conclusion: look at them as a chance to work yourself out of a job. Grit your teeth and pour into this emerging leader for a year or two, refine their rough edges and then liberate them by stepping aside. After all, if you’re truly a 7 on the scale, the best thing you can do is recognize the time to step aside and let them shine. If you do it right, you can count their future success as your success.

Like so many other things, I get an idea which was NOT on my daily prioritized todo list, and it diverts my attention for about 14 hours. (I started this post on July 7 and after this sentence, I realized I had to get back to task!)

Uhhmmm ... WTF?

Today (actually July 7), it was about an announcement made yesterday (July 6) by Microsoft.  The “beta” launch of hohm.com (that’s not really the address, but it’s riveting, it’s wrong, it’s a bastardization of a sacred word for both Hindus and Electrical Engineers!)

Microsoft’s Hohm is an attempt to get more information from you.  I registered for the service and it took about an hour.  First I had to create a Microsoft Live (something like that) account.  I had to become a registered Microsoft user.  Once that was complete, I could access this burdening service.  By “burdening” I mean that they ask about 3 zillion questions.  I stopped when my profile was about 26% complete.  So overall, there is roughly 12 zillion questions.

Before I proceed, a general question.  Do I really want Microsoft to know this much information about me?  Do I want to let them inside my house, into my attic, into my sacred fridge?  No.  Hell NO.  Same issue I have with Google. There was a point when I was unknowingly giving the guys in Redmond a bunch of personal information.  Then I switched over to freely available, open source versions of their office suite. I had freed myself.  (Well not really, I started using Google, when he was young and handsome.)

The purpose of this post was to provide a few definitions from Wikipedia.

1. Aum – Aum (also Om, written in Devanagari as ॐ, in Chinese as 唵, in Tibetan as ༀ, in Sanskrit known as praṇava प्रणव lit. “to sound out loudly” or oṃkāra ओंकार lit. “oṃ syllable”) is a mystical or sacred syllable in the Indian religions, including Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, and Buddhism.
2. Om – see above.
3. Ohm – (symbol: Ω) is the SI unit of electrical impedance or, in the direct current case, electrical resistance, named after Georg Simon Ohm.
4. Hohm –  Microsoft Hohm is an online web application by Microsoft that enables consumers to analyze their energy usage and provides energy saving recommendations. Announced on June 24, 2009, Microsoft Hohm is built on the Windows Azure cloud operating system. It was publicly released on July 6th, 2009.
5. Hohmann transfer orbit – is an orbital maneuver using two engine impulses which, under standard assumptions, move a spacecraft between two coplanar circular orbits. This maneuver was named after Walter Hohmann, the German scientist who published a description of it in 1925. (See also interplanetary travel.)
6. Uhm – Not from Wikipedia, rather urbandictionary.com. A sound made by those who are rectally intelligent to realize that they must already have thought of an accurate response before opening their mouth to make any sound. Usually used when you are talking to a complete ass.

So, which above definition is closest to “Microsoft Holm”?  My assertion, #6 “Uhm”.  The rest don’t seem to align.  The other definitions are pillars of religion, pillars of scientific theory.

You have to be one astronomical, jerk-off, wannabe, pretentious pile of crap to repurpose and rebrand  a sacred word.  Why not just call the web application built on a a privatized Azure cloud, “Jesus”.  (see http://uber.la/archives/2355 for justification of “privatize” and a good dose of righteous humor.) Why not just come out and say it Microsoft, you want to be Big Brother, just as much as your other Big Brother Google.  Don’t fake it.  I don’t want you as a brother if you’re gonna act like a Mother&*%#er.

It’s done.  My Google Account is gone.

Initially, I was planning on a more comprehensive divorce.  Surgically removing each application from my Google profile.  But, I don’t have the time.  So, I decided the “nuclear” approach was most efficient.  It always is.

Shortly, the few folks that are still in my address book will get a notification, the final notification.  These folks will get my new email addr.

Goodbye emails from Papa Johns, Goodbye emails from AT&T Account Manager, Goodbye Zappos (I am still a customer though), see you later over-hyped EarthAid, ReserveAmerica, CVS, Watchovia, Wells Fargo and others.

Goodbye GOOGLE.  It’s been a pleasure feeding off your brilliance, slurping your nectars.  Sadly, your blood has gone sour.  I am off to look for another host.  Hello Bing, Hello again Yahoo! How’s it going WolframAlpha!

Oh, btw, the “sort of” in the subject line, refers to the unfortunate, inevitable reality that every now and then, Google will need to be used.  I’ll temper this when possible.  But if I bump into Google in a public place, I will be gentlemanly, I will say hello warmly, then proceed to the next guest.

Postscript:  Someone recently alerted me to the amount of data that creditors have on me.  That’s the next campaign, get rid of credit.  Sometime, ask me about the other businesses that I am boycotting.  Despite the positive message from their PR departments, they are NOT in it for you, they care about their stakeholders.
