The human mind is an amazingly complex and powerful thing. It not only controls your body function,

The human mind is an amazingly complex and powerful thing. It not only controls your body function, it can literally change the world. What you think and the actions you decide to take affect you and your surroundings as you act. One miracle of the mind with which I have always been fascinated is the ability to turn a thought into something tangible. If you act upon your thoughts, you can take an idea and transform it into something you hold in your hand. Amazing. Our world was built upon this ability. The car you drive, the house in which you live, the clothes you’re wearing, the computer on which you’re reading this post, all started as just an idea in someone’s mind. If you’re able to grasp this, you begin to realize you hold an amazing amount of power within your mind.

We all have lots of ideas of how our lives should be. Sadly, rather than acting upon those thoughts, we oftentimes let them just stay dormant in our minds. That’s a waste.

I point this out because too many of us are thinking of creative ways to make our lives better yet we’re not acting on those thoughts. Maybe it’s fear, apathy or even fatigue. But, perhaps, there’s never been a more appropriate time to begin acting on those thoughts. Take what your passionate about - what you enjoy most in life and begin thinking about how to increase it’s existence in your world. Expand your thinking and stop telling yourself it can never happen. Stretch your mind to consider the “impossible” as possible for you. This is where you start. The next phase includes writing it down, making a plan and then taking massive action on that plan every day. Sure, you’re likely to hit some hurdles. But when they appear, creatively work on getting over them. This time, don’t let those hurdles stop you. For most of us, we’re capable of so much more than we’ve done. Don’t let that depress you - let it inspire you! Don’t let your thoughts of how to be happy and how to make your world better sit dormant any longer. Let them transform your world.

So, what thoughs will you begin acting on today?

I woke up this morning feeling so amazingly happy for no reason. AND, I had actually tossed and turned in my sleep for most of the night, which is frequently the case these days, as I am pregnant.

In any case… I woke up glowingly, ecstatic. I eagerly went to my computer to find the good news sitting in my inbox that I had received a mentorship with an amazing copywriter that I am very excited to be working with.

The email wasn’t there… After days of waiting in gruelling anticipation to hear the choice that he makes, I knew it would be at least one more day to learn what I already know in my heart. I then carried on with my day with massive smiles on my face and a huge grin in my heart.

Have you ever had days that no matter what happened, nothing could bring you down? For no particular reason at all…

Discover The Secret to Waking Up Happy!

Do want to know the secret to having these kind of days frequently happen in your life?

Years ago I took a course in which I studied the mindset of Billionaires. In the course, one of the most crucial pieces I took away from it, was that every single one of them lives in the “attitude of gratitude”.

I thought I knew what it was like to be grateful. I thought that I already held that belief. Little did I know that gratitude could go so much deeper than many people allow it to.

I chose right then and there to take on the “attitude of gratitude” and my life has never been the same since.

I watch so many people walk down the street with frowns and heads down. As a coach, I listen to my clients be sad and mopey and miserable over little things. When I look around I just see so much unhappiness these days.

When I walk down the street, I usually smile as I walk by people and give friendly waves. Everywhere I go I can see beauty in the area, in the person, in whatever. It is so easy to find the things that are good. It is so easy to be grateful.

Some days, I feel like my heart may explode with the feeling of gratitude that I have for everything that I have in my life.

Please bear in mind… I don’t have a lavish lifestyle. I live in a small unit with my husband and we have two cars that are starting to fall apart. We rarely go out for nice meals together, and usually cook delicious foods at home. When we go for little holidays, we frequently camp or manage to find cheap accommodation. We truly live quite a “basic” life as far as Western culture is concerned.

With all that being said… I LOVE MY LIFE! Do I want more? Heck Yeah! Am I constantly striving to improve myself and my business so that I can take my lifestyle to the next level? YES!

The key is to be grateful!

Only a few years ago, just before doing the course on billionaires, we had weeks that we weren’t sure how we would pay the rent. I looked back at our finances then, and wonder how we even ate the wholesome food that we did. I guess somehow we managed.

Since taking on the attitude of gratitude, I have grown my business from no coaching clients to working with an average of 34 people per month! Most coaches would dream of having that many clients. I have incredibly beautiful relationships with my family and friends and truly I wake up most days incredibly happy.

I sit outside on my balcony, eating breakfast looking at my glimpse of the ocean, and thinking how grateful I am for the life that I have.

The more gratitude that I truly embrace and the more that my heart pours out the joy and happiness and gratitude that I feel, the more that I receive. I receive clients, money, friends, amazing business contacts, etc. It’s like a plentiful, flowing tap that I have turned on. Generally speaking, if I ask, I shall receive.

The more gratitude that I embrace, the more that I receive!

I don’t know if you believe in God or the universe or something bigger than yourself. Whatever you want to call it or however you look at it… I believe that the universe rewards you for being grateful for what you already have. AND… it won’t give you what you aren’t ready for!

If you don’t even appreciate what you have got, why would it give you more? If you don’t manage your money, why would you get more? It will just be wasted, because you don’t know what to do with it.

If you don’t respect your relationships with those around you… why would it give you more people to deal with and not appreciate?

If you want to have more, appreciate what you already have!

You know how partners, friends or family can have really annoying traits, that no matter what you do, they keep doing that same annoying thing. Be grateful for those little annoying things.

My husband leaves his pear cores and other scraps out on the kitchen counter. Instead of getting mad and annoyed… I now giggle and laugh. It’s a habit that he has that is just a part of him. I am so grateful to have him in my life. and that is part of who he is… so I embrace that too. Give it a go and see what a difference that alone makes in your relationships.

Start looking all around you and all the wonderful things in your life. Focus on what is great and you will create even more greatness!

Be like the billionaire and live in the “attitude of gratitude”!

Does it seem like you’re always waiting? Maybe you’re waiting for:

-Things to get better with the economy.

-Your spouse to apologize.

-To win the lottery.

-For your boss to notice you.

-For it to stop being so cold.

You can continue to sit and wait if you want. But, wouldn’t it be better to affect your world rather than waiting for it to affect you? Wouldn’t it be better to be proactive rather than reactive? Why wait when you can DO?

Try these steps to overcome the reasons for waiting listed above:

-Creatively look for NEW ways to increase your business in a bad economy. Most of your competetors are sitting on the sidelines waiting. This is your opportunity to jump ahead.

-Look your spouse in the eye and say, “I love and cherish you.” I feel pretty certain your spouse wants to hear those words from you.

-Chances are, as you know, you’re not going to win the lottery. What can you do with the money you’ve been spending on cards and tickets that will actually create income?

-The one thing that will make your boss notice you more than any other is to go beyond what is expected of you. Most of your co-workers will do less. Do more and you will be noticed.

-I used to hate cold weather. It’s still not my favorite kind of weather, but I don’t let it stop me from enjoying the outdoors anymore. Amazingly, layers of clothes actually will keep you warm. I’ve enjoyed more beautiful frosty early morning jogs this winter than ever before. I realized I was missing out on some of nature’s greatest moments while on the treadmill.

Let today be THE day that you’re going to stop waiting for the world around you to change and begin changing your world instead.

Get started!

What’s first on your list?

A huge winter storm is ravaging parts of the Plains, Mississippi Valley and Ohio Valley. Inches of ice have left thousands without power and many towns paralyzed. You’ll continue to see stories in the national news about this storm for the next few days.

The reason for this massive storm is that the atmosphere is highly imbalanced. For instance, in Middle Tennessee on Tuesday of this week, one town had a mid-afternoon temperature of 71 while 35 miles away it was 37 degrees. That’s imbalance! In nature, the bigger the imbalance, the more chaotic the weather. Hence, a winter storm that will go down in the record books.

The same is true for our lives. When we’re imbalanced, chaos naturally results. It’s just the way the world works. The easiest way to slip into this pattern is to not think about what you’re doing or why you’re doing it on a day-to-day basis. Instead, we just become zombies, doing the same thing as the day before. If you’re tired of living this way, you can change it.

1. If there was one thing you could cut out of your daily routine tomorrow, what would it be?
2. Write down what it is.
3. Underneath it, write down three steps you could take this week to begin elimating (or at least reducing) this from your daily schedule.
4. Do these three things.
5. Keep track of your progress and use it as motivation to keep moving forward.

This works amazingly well with lots of little items that take a lot of your time but don’t add much value to your life. The goal is to reduce the number of things that cause you stress which leaves you more time for the things that actually mean something to you. The more you do this, the more time you’ll find in your daily schedule.

So, what are you going to eliminate?

What you think about and focus on most expands in your life. If you focus on the person you desire to become, you’ll become that person. If you think most about your negative habits, relationships and finances, they will all expand. This is why so many outcomes in our lives are self-fulfilling.

To stop this cycle, do these things:

1. Have a clear understanding of who and where you are currently (but don’t make it worse than it really is).

2. Begin focusing on the person you want to become.

3. Visualize how you would conduct your daily life if you were that person today.

4. Write down the thoughts and actions which are limiting you from becoming that person.

5. Write down how you will change those thoughs and actions to overcome your limitations. This becomes your plan of action.

5. Work like crazy on your plan. Get up every morning thinking and acting more like that person. If you do, each day, you will be one step closer.

6. Keep working on the plan each day until you are there.

7. Enjoy the person you’ve become!

Follow these five steps without fail. If you do, it will be hard to miss your target. Don’t make it harder than it is. If you can conceive in your mind how you want to be, you can achieve it. My wish for you is for you to do well for youself in 2009!

There seems to be some argument about whether life balance can really exist. Understand, balance isn’t a point you’ll reach and always stay there - that’s not going to happen… Instead, it’s a way to design your life so that on most days, your needs are met, you genuinely enjoy life and you’re not always on the edge of crisis.

With that in mind, lets return to the question, is life balance possible? If you ask someone that question who has chronic trouble balancing his or her life, they will probably say, “No.” However, if you ask someone who lives a balanced life, they’ll obviously say, “Yes.” Just the mere fact that there are people who say yes gives you the answer – it IS possible. That should give all of you who don’t think so some hope. Don’t give up yet!

What would you say if I asked you this question?

Today, I received a phone call from my best friend here in Nashville. She said she was in the process of reading a motivational book when she started to think of me (it was at that point that I was flattered that I was in her thoughts!). Susie explained that she understood that in the past I’ve been told I have a restless spirit and she said that although that description has hurt my feelings at times, she wanted to let me know she thinks it’s one of my positive attributes. She proceeded to explain that my somewhat restlessness has me always taking risks, setting and achieving my goals all the while saying, “Okay, I’ve finished that! Now God, what’s next on my agenda to accomplish?”

I’m not sure if I can live up to her standard, but I accepted the kind words nonetheless! Like almost all of you, I do indeed make a concerted effort to strive to achieve excellence – not always getting there but trying all the same. Charlie’s below post, made me stand up and cheer!!

It’s easy to fall into a daily routine that we don’t particularly like. We end up doing

It’s easy to fall into a daily routine that we don’t particularly like. We end up doing the same thing over and over, day after day. We get up after not getting enough sleep, hurry ourselves and our kids while getting ready for work and school, run out the door to a job which we may or may not enjoy all that much, get through a mundane work day, sit in traffic on the way back home, walk in the door exhausted from our crazy day, make and eat a dinner that probably could be more healthful, turn on the t.v. and watch a show we hope will take our minds off of real life for an hour, go back to bed a bit later than we should only to get up and do it all over again the next day. Weekends seem like mini vacations compared to our hectic weeks. We live for Saturdays and dread Mondays. Are you familiar with this?

We THINK that this is the way it HAS to be. It was the way we grew up. It’s the way all of our friends do it. It’s the way everyone with whom we work does it. But, that’s not true. If you’re not happy with your routine, it doesn’t have to be that way. You can change it. It can be different. It can be better. But, it takes effort. It takes effort to analyze your day to discover what you can cut out to make more quality time with your family. It takes effort to look at how you can use your time at work more effectively so that you’re able to actually get your work done and leave the office on time. It takes effort to get to bed a little earlier so that you get more sleep and feel better the next day. It takes effort to talk to your kids about what’s going on in their lives. It takes effort to find quiet time to renew your mind, listen to your thoughts and pray. It takes effort to tune out the noise and find true voices of value that add to your life experience. After you expend a little effort to begin doing these things, you gain momentum and change comes more naturally. It gets easier. The hardest part about starting something new is just starting. Once you’ve spent a few days trying new things, finding a routine that you like better, examining your life to find what brings you true joy, it becomes something you’ll want to do. It’s a great feeling to experience change for the better. It’s great realizing that life can be different from the same old routine. People are changing every day. They’re finding a new path that takes them where they want to go. I’ve seen it. I’ve done it. It’s fun. And a great way to start your life change is to simply ask this question: What makes a good day for me? Once you answer that, your goal should be to do what you can each day to make that happen. A little effort, a change here and there, some thought, some planning, some action and before you know it, you’ve created a life in which your good days happen more and more. You CAN do it. Just give it a try…
