The children laughed in glee as they gathered stones from the beach to line up snakelike along the top of a very old fallen tree. “One, two, three . . . ,” they counted, as they filled their hands. Then they ran to the log. “This one’s first!” came the cry of a sand-covered lad as he plunked the first rock down. “One!” And rocks two and three followed quickly.

One. First things are number one.

When it’s time to get up and go to work, we do things in a certain order. After arising, we take a shower. Then comes getting dressed. Our underwear and socks go on first, before our shirt and pants. Pants go on before shoes. Shoes usually are tied after being put on, rather than before. “First things first” is the order of the day.

Other things in life have their necessary order, too. At breakfast you get the bowl before you pour the cereal and add milk. When you drive to work, you first open the car door and then climb in. The next step is to close the door and put the key in the ignition. Then you turn the key before you push on the gas peddle. For a successful trip, it takes doing first things first.

When building a house, plans are drawn. Then measurements are taken to know the amount of space that will be needed on the lot. Then the ground is leveled. Preparing for and pouring concrete for the basement, framing the house, and putting on the roof follow in a specific order. The rule of thumb is first things first.

When the above order of performance is properly accomplished, the results are usually predictable and good. But when we, either in thoughtlessness or on purpose, turn the process around, little good is accomplished. For best results, it takes first things first.

I have learned that this rule of order generally applies to our spiritual lives, as well. Just as our faces end out cleaner if we first take the time to dampen a cloth with warm water, and then do the scrubbing, our days seem to go better if we first take time for a meaningful connection with God. As our first duty of the morning, if we sit down with the Bible, pray for His guidance as we read it, and then ask Him to be with us throughout the day, and send His Holy Spirit to lead us, He will do it.

Of course, during our worship time we remember to praise God and Jesus for all they have done for us. We ask for forgiveness for any sins we might have overlooked. And we invite God to be with us in all that we do, and to send the Holy Spirit to guide us as we go through our day. Thus, arming ourselves with God’s directions for the day, and His protection over us, we are ready to face our world, whatever it may bring. Should problems pop up, we are ready to instantly resume our conversation with God, asking for His directions regarding how we should handle things. First things first. That’s what it takes.

There is no need to worry about your ability to handle the happenings of your day. Jesus Himself said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33. In other words, God will direct you and present needed opportunities and solutions to you, as you follow His will and keep Him as the center of your life.

First things first. A simple statement. An important concept.

As you follow this plan, you will most likely find your love for God and Jesus growing and becoming more mature. You will look forward to your quiet times alone, where you can “hear” the promptings from the Heavenly Ones. You will sense a peace deep within yourself.

Then you will truly be able to quote Psalm 63:1, as a part of your own prayer: “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee.”

Who–and what will you put first in your life? It’s a very important choice.

Other Texts on This Subject

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”
Proverbs 8:17.

“But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him
with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”
Deuteronomy 4:29

“In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.”
Psalm 31:1.

When it comes to personal health, Life Priority recognizes that most people do not want to compromis

When it comes to personal health, Life Priority recognizes that most people do not want to compromise on the quality of their supplements. What you don’t put into your body is just as important as what you do. Undesirable residues, byproducts, and impurities may accompany any supplement or supplement ingredient that has not been carefully cultivated, processed, manufactured, or stored. Beware! Your health may be affected by any level of contaminants.

You can be assured that Life Priority adheres to the highest quality standards, including the use of the highest-quality ingredients. You can know that you are dealing with a company with all the requisite technical expertise, and especially that we are a reputable company committed to integrity, expertise, and quality as the core of our business philosophy.

HOW IMPORTANT ARE EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE?
Totally important! Expertise comes from experience. Nothing could be more important in the development of superior products.

Life Priority’s team of biomedical researchers and writers, formulators, quality control experts, medical advisors, manufacturing/production specialists, and others, is uniquely qualified to deliver the kinds of innovative, cutting-edge, top-quality products and education that set the pace for the industry. This team represents a greater accumulation in years of experience (dating back to 1968 in one case) than that of any other company in the life-extension nutrient arena.

Life Priority is proud to have the services of two quality control experts: scientists Durk Pearson & Sandy Shaw® whose formulations we manufacture according to their rigorous specifications for their own personal consumption. No one can seriously dispute their leadership in quality assurance and knowledge of quality control. These same rigorous specifications are used in the manufacturing processes for all Life Priority products.

Durk specified most of NASA’s first material processing laboratory in the Space Shuttle and wrote the first draft of the laboratory safety manual. Sandy developed a major corporation’s computerized quality control system. In 1980 Durk was given an award from the International Society for Testing and Failure Analysis, honoring him as “an American Renaissance Man of Science whose positive achievements have extended beyond the laboratory to society in general.” Through the filter of a broad spectrum of disciplines, Durk scrutinizes several candidate raw material samples every month.

CAN ANYONE BECOME AN EXPERT AT QUALITY CONTROL?
Yes – if he or she masters an array of scientific technologies and acquires years of experience in the laboratory, while continuing to read a wide range of the latest primary literature. Life Enhancement is also proud to employ as Director of Manufacturing Dale Fowkes, who has been producing Pearson & Shaw formulations longer than anyone else. About Dale, Durk & Sandy say, “There are not many people who are really experienced in the nutrition supplement production community, but Dale Fowkes is one person who certainly is.” Regarding our testing standards, Dale says, “We spend more money and effort on quality control in one month than most of our competitors do in one year, or more than they have ever spent.”

Will Block, founder of Life Priority Products, has devoted the last 20 years of his life to the health sciences and each day consumes a significant number of the products produced by his company. Motivated by the goal of life extension, quality control is extremely important to him. As he says, “I am in this for the long run, so I can’t afford to make a mistake.”

NOBODY BEATS OUR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION!
Is the topic of anti-aging important to you? Are you looking for ways to reduce stress and anxiety, improve memory, and help prevent the onset of disease? Do you want to enhance your lifestyle and enjoy a greater sense of well-being? Their product knowledge, enthusiasm, and motivation give them the tools they need to help you make informed decisions about supplements for your daily nutritional health plans.
If you are interested in information, innovation, and the best nutritional supplements available, we are here to serve you.

IS THE PURITY OF INGREDIENTS REALLY THAT IMPORTANT?

Absolutely! What you ingest affects your health and well-being. We purchase ingredients with a certified purity greater than 98%. Every ingredient is then additionally lab-tested for quality and purity, every time. We source only from first-rate companies such as Hoffman LaRoche, Ajinomoto, and other leading pharmaceutical nutrient manufacturers from around the world. Only the highest-grade ingredients are in our products!
