A few months ago I bought an external 3TB hard disk for our home computer, mostly for my wife’

A few months ago I bought an external 3TB hard disk for our home computer, mostly for my wife’s 53,000 photos. Turns out that if I had just waited, I could have simply uploaded them all to MyShoeBox.

“We offer unified photo storage across all your devices, for free, at 1,024-pixel quality,” founder Steve Cosman told me a few weeks ago in Toronto. “Or, you can pay $5/month for unlimited resolution.”

Tomorrow MyShoeBox is launching version two of its photo backup and sharing service, with a new iPad app, updated mobile apps, and a new shared galleries feature that allows you to build grouped sets of photos with people you went on vacation with, or family members who shared an event such as a wedding.

The freemium model has helped the company get a quick start.

Search and self-quantification

After exiting from Toronto accelerator Extreme Startups in Fall last year, the service saw 13.4 million photos uploaded in its first month, November 2012. And, Cosman says, MyShoeBox users upload far more photos than Facebook or Flickr users — 3,200 each, compared to Facebook’s 220 and Flickr’s 320.

But the value proposition is much more than photo backup.

Instead, MyShoeBox is a way to enjoy all of your photos, all of the time, on any device you have. Frankly, for most people, their photos are strewn around their main computer (photos from their actual, official, camera), their phone (snapshots from their built-in camera), and their social networks (uploaded from wherever you happened to be at the time). There’s no unified view, no way to see — and search — all your photos at once.

Using MyShoeBox for the first time syncs your photos up to the cloud-based service automatically, in the background, and installing the services’ mobile apps on your Android or iOS-based phone will do the same.

That’s helpful, because we often want to see more of our photos on our mobile devices.

“Our new iPad app is an incredible way of browsing your entire photo collection,” Cosman says. “And it’s one of the only ways you can get your full photo collection on your iPad … most people don’t have enough space.”

What most interested me when I chatted to Cosman is MyShoeBox’ solution to a problem that I think I share with many other digital photographers: enjoying your own work, and finding photos. A former program manager for Microsoft’s augmented reality team for Windows Phone, Cosman has placed special emphasis on automated sorting, tagging, and exploring features.

“So many people that have given up the concept of a photo collection,” he says. “Faces, places, and things are important ways to automatically categorize photos. And they keep getting smarter every day.”

So MyShoeBox highlights places you’ve been, photos you took last year at this time, events, cameras you used, and more, creating what the company calls “an interactive infographic” of your life. That includes personal quantification data like the top times you take photos, and your most photographed neighborhoods.

And if you want to search your photo collection, MyShoeBox has just re-written its search features to be much faster and more powerful as its power users often have more than 15,000 photos each.

“iOS, Android, Windows, Mac … it works pretty much anywhere,” Cosman says. “And once together, it’s automatically organized.”

MyShoeBox is based in Toronto, Canada, and is currently raising a financing round. Its new iPad, iPhone, and Android apps will be live in Google Play and the app store tomorrow.

by Roger White I understand about growing old, and I don’t mind it, really. No, really, there

by Roger White

I understand about growing old, and I don’t mind it, really. No, really, there are a few perks that tag along with decrepitude. Like being able to take a nap any time of the day without having to explain yourself. Or the well-practiced art of feigning random episodes of deafness when the wife has her chore list out. Oh, another biggie is the ability to dodge helping the neighbors with any heavy lifting. That’s a personal favorite.

“Oh, look, hon,” says the wife one glorious Saturday afternoon. “That new couple across the street bought a new hutch. Go over and see what you can do. They need help getting that big ol’ thing out of their truck.”

The glorious day turns dark. “Yes, dear.”

I toddle over.

“Hey, there, young fellah,” I rasp, sounding in the terminal throes of emphysema. “Need a hand?”

“Well. If you think you can, sure!”

“Okay, now,” I wheeze. “I’ll hop up in the truck bed and push her your way.” I go to climb up in the truck and freeze, back bent double. “Uh, oh.”

“You all right?” the wary young couple inquires simultaneously.

“Darn it. Ol’ war wound.”

“War wound? Vietnam?”

“Yep. Battle of Inchon.”

“That was Korea.”

“Oh, yeah. Korea.”

“Well, look, mister. You go on home and rest your back. We can get this. But thank you, anyway!”

I toddle away as the gloriousness of Saturday brightly returns.

Alas, some very real maladies have visited themselves upon me with the piling up of the years, and these are the things that make me ponder my mortality. My weekly stab at playing tennis, for example, has been indefinitely curtailed because of some vague pain in my lower neck that feels like I have an angry lobster attached to my spine. I went to the doc about it; he felt around for a while, wrote me a scrip for steroids, and sent me on my way. Well, I have a big mat of chest hair now and I’m prone to wild fits of road rage, but I’ve yet to feel any relief from the spine lobster. Doc thinks I’ve torn my trapezoid or something. Sounds like a circus injury, I know.

Another aging ailment (AA for short) that has come to squat upon my person is flab. Funny word, isn’t it? Flab. Flab is something I never suffered from as a kid, as a teen, or as a young man. If anything, I could have used a little extra body acreage. I was always skinny as a pipe cleaner—and about as shy. Yes, that is correct. Pipe cleaners are notoriously shy. Anyway, as the seasons have passed and I’m now in the autumn of my years, I’ve noticed my leaves turning brown and…wait, wrong metaphor. I’ve noticed a bit of girth round my midships. The wife insists my beer intake and stubborn sedentarianism are the culprit, but I cling to advancing age as the true cause. By the way, that’s a new religion I’m starting—Sedentarianism—but that’s for another column.

The upshot of this is: I’ve a bit of a muffin top, you see. Well don’t stare.

The thing of it is, it’s not just our outer bods that fall victim to flab. Noticing that I’ve been having trouble staying asleep for any considerable stretch lately, I’ve set myself up for one of those sleep studies. Wifey seems to think I have a flabby uvula. Sounds naughty, I know, but no, we all have uvulas, fellahs. It’s that dangly thing in the back of your throat. Mine is apparently sagging into my breathing passage and clogging me up at night. Yes, even my innards have grown old and tired. My uvula has a beer belly.

A fantastic voyage through water, revealing a hidden universe teeming with physical activity and providing answers so simple that any curious person can understand.

“The most interesting science book I’ve ever read.” Zhiliang Gong, University of Chicago.

“The most significant scientific discovery of this century. What strikes me above all is the elegant simplicity of [Pollack’s] experimental approach. It takes our understanding of the most vital substance for life on earth a quantum leap forward. Many of the experiments can be done on the kitchen table, and you don’t even need a microscope to see the results. Add to that a highly congenial and unassuming personality, and it’s no wonder Pollack is attracting undergraduates and graduates like flies, not to mention many collaborators around the world.” Mae-Wan Ho, Author, Living Rainbow H2O; Director, Institute of Science and Society.

“Dr. Pollack is one of the pioneers in this field, and his discoveries can be expected to have important implications.” Brian Josephson, Nobel Laureate, Cambridge University.

“The most original thinker I have ever met.” Csaba Galambos, University of Colorado.

“Einstein has got nothing on Pollack. Pollack has the uncanny ability to pinpoint the right questions and grasp the simple ideas.”Capt. T.C. Randall, Author, Forbidden Healing.

“This is like getting new glasses! The clarity is astounding.” Charles Cushing, Independent Scientist.

“Fantastic material with revolutionary insights. What impresses me most is that the experiments are visually instantly accessible.”Helmut Roniger, Consulting physician.

“As good a page-turner as a Dan Brown novel. … this book has a folksy style that I know will be very popular.” David Anick, Harvard University.

With balance and grace, Pollack seems to have come closest to presenting a ‘unified field’ vision of matter through the lens of water.” John Fellows, Independent Scientist.

“This amazing book has changed my understanding of all the processes going on in water which I was confident I knew about — the understanding that dictated my many years of teaching and organized my research. I must now come to terms with the demonstration that water is not just a medium in which physics and chemistry happen, but a machine that powers and manages physics and chemistry.” Martin Canny, Australian National University.

“Brilliant! Read the last chapter first.” Molly McGee, University of Washington.

She established this channel and got a big hit immediately! Before i blogged, i just finished this 10 min workout and i had already sweated a bit! The exercise is not difficult at all so it is suitable for all of you!

2. Keeping an eating diary

Deciding to apply for a bond (mortgage) was a big decision for DH and I, especially since we don

Deciding to apply for a bond (mortgage) was a big decision for DH and I, especially since we don’t have any money for a deposit. The need for our own space however was overwhelming so we dove in head first. We made inquiries at a housing development nearby. Everything about it is perfect, it’s location, it’s proximity to Mogi-chan’s nursery and my work plus their plans to build a primary school, high school, library, clinic and shops. There’s nothing to dislike. The size of the home that best suited our pocket was chosen and thankfully it is one of the best options available. Perfect.

When I first got the message that our bond application was approved it felt like the best news since I found out I was pregnant. It was such a wonderful feeling; big news, big changes, new possibilities.

Then I found out that only 90% of the bond was approved. This was a big disappointment. It meant that we had to fork out much more than we thought we’d ever require (we planned to sell our second car for a deposit but now we needed more!). It left me stressed and unhappy. I calculated and recalculated our budget. I was told not to give up but I nearly did. I had to remind myself that this was only one in 3 applications but my mind told me to prepare, in case this was the best we could get. It was ridiculous actually. The installment worked out to more than 10% of the bond that they were willing to grant us. It didn’t even make sense.

After a few phone calls from Bank A, I felt slightly pressured to sign and get it over with but I told the them that I’m waiting for other banks to still get back to me. After much deliberation, tears and nearly calling the whole thing off. I was encouraged by my loved ones and assured by others in the same boat to go for it and everything will work out. I decided to phone bank B & C for their answer. Bank B flat out unapproved, wow I was shocked, then again maybe I wasn’t.

Bank C’s mechanical call operator gave me options and told me I could find out the status of my application by inputting the reference/account number.

I did so and a robotic voice told me that my application was granted. I didn’t think anything of it except that I knew good news was in store for me. The operator, the human one, then confirmed that my bond was 100% approved (This includes the deposit that we never had!). I was elated but then immediately my emotional self-preservation kicked in and I didn’t feel anything ‘just in case’. Only after sharing the news with DH and getting the quote did I realize that my repayment would be a grand less than bank A wanted from me. After a few weeks of arranging with the agent and doing admin, I had time to process the information.

Now having a Pinterest account actually meant something other than doodling and ‘liking’ things I liked. I could actually implement this awesome stuff in my new home and implement the lifestyle that I want to live with my family without having to consult with or run it by a housemate. We could just live our lives.

That’s when it became exciting to me again. My brain can’t comprehend the enormity of owning my own house but I know its a massive achievement. If it was anyone else I’d be congratulating that person. It’s a major investment after all.

So slowly I’m allowing myself to be happy without reserve or ‘what-ifs’. I’m just going to be happy because its freaking fantastic.

Can I get an dry extra arid foamy cappuccino?

Like many other people, my day always starts with a cup of coffee. Admittedly I start my day several hours later than most people, but that’s due to the heavy research that a professional writer, like what I am, has to undertake.

So there I am, standing in the queue trying to reconstruct the hazy segments of the previous evening when I hear the following grating order from a customer.

“Could I get a grande dry cappuccino?”

I have BIG ISSUES with this seemingly simple request. First, what goes the customer mean by the phrase ‘could I get’. Does he wish to serve himself? Make the barista redundant, perhaps? Surely he either means ‘Could I have?’ or ‘Could you get?’

People often say to me “Miles, it’s an Americanism” as if to excuse the startling abuse of the English language. American? Well, so is Michael Douglas, tornadoes and mass shootings, so that doesn’t wash with me. Get it right please.

Secondly, what on earth is a ‘dry’ cappuccino? Compared with a latte, a cappuccino seems pretty dry already, so is the term is intended to mean ‘entirely devoid of liquid’? There must be more foam in a dry cappuccino than there is in the average living room sofa. And why would anyone order a grande? Surely, two times nothing is nothing; except of course when it comes to paying for the large cup of froth. Costa fortune!

Tasting Notes: Coffee Outlets

Starbucks: Aside from the tax thing, I don’t like giving my name just to stop the dopes accidentally giving my skinny latte to some spotty infantile teenager who ordered a milk shake. When asked, I often give my name as say “Ethel”. They don’t even blink!

Caffe Nero: Good coffee, terrible tea. Tip: Never buy a coffee made by a barista wearing a burgundy tea shirt. It says “trainee” for a good reason.

McDonalds: Dark and earthy. In fact, so earthy that this tasted like soil. Try with 2 sugars. And alcohol.

Remember my friends from Waveborn? Well, they were also kind enough to send over a fresh pair of Baysides for my husband to rock this summer, so I forcefully…err kindly…asked him to show them off in this blog post since he was wearing them all over Arizona. I love the look of these shades, and I have to say, my man is lookin’ pretty studly in them…or maybe I’m just biased Remember, every pair of shades you purchase from Waveborn also helps give someone the gift of sight! Check out their campaign here.

Happy Hump Day everyone! Yesterday ended up being a beautiful sunny day, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner outdoors at Spina in the East Village with two of my favorite Aussies. The $5 mussels and meatballs were to die for as well as their homemade fresh pasta dishes. Nom Nom Nom! Tonight is going to be a low key one. I’m hoping the sunshine will come out to play again despite the weather reports.

Have a good one ya’ll!

XO,

Do you remember when the sister and I headed to Florida for a mini-sister-vacay? Remember when we hit up Target like there was no tomorrow? Well these shoes and that skirt is what we walked away with, amongst many other things.

It seems that tons of fashion bloggers are huge fans of designer anything, especially when it comes to a $39.99 pair of “designer designed” shoes! I am one of those peeps. I have decided to invest in better quality items, but sometimes the trendy ones sneak in there, and the trendy ones will only be purchased with a very low price tag..only.

Therefore my usual “trendy” hit ups are places like H & M, Target, Joe Fresh, Forever21. And if I want to spend a little more and probably hold onto them for longer: Zara, Anthropologie, Free People, Club Monaco, Mendocino..along with some really cute small boutique like stores.

So this my friends is a trendy piece, and they are seriously neon and pretty darn great!

12:00 PM: Lunch Run – PENDING

It’s so hard when you don’t have anything to train for to keep yourself motivated. Or so, that’s how I feel. Just some 5ks coming up and it’s they’re just for fun. I’m trying to keep up with the weight training (4-5x a week). Today, though, was tough because it was SO hot in our house. The humidity… I swear, it was so hot when we got back from our dinner that we were literally in underwear and bras (or just a pamper for one kid).

Mommmmy, it’s HOT!!!!

I gave Lili a bath and then I took a shower myself. Holy hotness. Pedro came home and started to put more A/C units in. We were still talking about how dinner was just “ick”. We went to the Spanish Tavern because I was craving Spanish food, but we were both so hot and tired that we didn’t want to trek to our favorite restaurant. Big mistake.

Spanish Tavern

Everything that came out was just, eh… Oh well. Lesson learned, though I did tell Pedro that he owed me dinner at the other place.

In just a month, Lili turns 2.

23-Months Old

And I’m 21-weeks + 2-days with #2.

3+1=4

Are you always training for something? If not, how do you keep the motivation going? Tips.

I know that with Lili, I pretty much did something every single day. And honestly, for me, I feel like it helped with the delivery.

Okay, I better get some work done if I want to get out and run at lunch. Happy Wednesday.

Make me believe the fairy tales.
That is all I ask of you.
To make me fall head over heels for you.
And in return I’ll make you happy.
Happy as you will ever dream of being.
Make me apart of your world.
That is all I ask of you.
I cannot give you much.
I don’t have anything to offer.
But I can be the best for you.
As long as you let me.
Just make me believe the fairy tales.
Let me fall in love with you.
Make me become head over heels for you.
And I won’t disappoint you.
But I need to believe your words.
Believe every lie you are willing to feed me.
Believe that without you I am nothing.
And with you I am the best I’ll ever be.
Make me believe that no one can love me like you do.
And no one will be able to fuck me like you do.
That I am stuck with you.
Through all the ups and downs no matter what.
Tell me those lies.
And as long as I believe them.
You will always have me.
Even if I wish I left before it even started….

The floral printed collection from Belgian power house label Raf Simmons is a very detailed and subtle collection. The collection above is shot by Jeff Hahn and styled by Madeleine Østlie. You will see the gallery above that Simmons has a lot of variety and intricate pieces within the work. Such as – tee shirts, bomber jackets, shorts and even sweats. One thing to note is that all pieces within this collection take on a different floral printed option which allows the buyer to have more all over options. The collection will be available online starting on May 28.

Recently, my world changed a little. I didn’t win the lottery or give birth; I found out my actual bra size. You’ve all heard the statistics that 85-90% of women are wearing the incorrect bra size, which we all casually ignore and think to ourselves ‘ I’m one of the 10%, these women are clearly all ignorant’. Well, I have news for you. You’re wearing the wrong bra size.

Upon perusing Reddit recently I came across the fantastic Sub A Bra That Fits and arrogantly assumed that, although my bra fit may not have been perfect, it wasn’t outrageously wrong. Oh, how foolish I was. This discovery was made during the height of my essay writing period for my final undergrad term so I was very willing to take some time off to play around with measuring tapes and watching endless YouTube links.

Here was my biggest revelation. If you already knew this (it seems so obvious!) then I applaud you and also can’t help but wonder WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?! Ok, here goes. Band size and cup size are correlational. The bigger the band size, the bigger the correlating cup size. Ever wandered around Marks and Spencer and thought ‘that’s never a C cup, it’s huge!!!’ or tried on your standard D cup when shopping and found that your breasts have apparently shrunk to half their size and don’t even half fill your bra? Me too. My mammary-related epiphany occurred when I found this guide. As you can see, a woman wearing a 38C cup has the same volume of breast tissue as a woman wearing a 32E.

Always in media will you hear Glamour-Models bragging about their ‘F-Cups’ as though it is a standard size, generally thought to be rather large. Well, if they’re wearing a 30 Inch band then they’re not boasting about much more than a C cup on a woman wearing a 38 Inch band. This also doesn’t help with the shock some women will feel upon being told that they need to be wearing a H cup bra. One must always remember: it is correlational. Interest peaked yet? By this point I was practically leaping down the stairs, yelling to housemates that the world of bras was so much better than I ever knew.

To help start out with finding your actual bra fitting there is a fantastic guide that can be found here. For a more detailed instruction on how to measure yourself properly for a bra then I strongly recommend that you head on over to Busty Resources. Remember how we’ve always been told that you measure around your back, just under your breasts, and then add on 4 inches to determine your band size…WHY. Why are we told to do this? I’ll tell you why. If you have a 34 back, and are told to wear a 38 then it is much more likely that you will fit into a A-DD size cup. Co-incidentally, the majority of bras made fit into this category. Ever tried shopping for a DD+ bra that isn’t both lacy and expensive? You will have found yourself choosing from a rather small collection of rather large looking bras. If your back measures 36 inches then you need to be wearing a bra that is a 36 inch band size. End. You will then measure around the fullest part of your breast. It is also advised to lean forward at a 90 degree angle and measure around your breasts. This will allow all of the breast tissue to fall forward to where it should be and give you the correct measurement. Then, quite simply, subtract your band size from your breast measurement and the resulting number will correlate to your cup size. If you want even more information then here is the guide to getting started on the Reddit page.

If you are still reading and you haven’t yet dived for the nearest tape measure then I will continue to convince you. When I first took my measurements I was no less than adamant that my apparently ‘correct’ size was outrageously wrong. Time to overshare: I have been wearing a size 38C for approximately five months. Before that I was wearing a 38B for several years. Upon taking my measurements I worked out that I was a 34E/F. In my mind I couldn’t help but think ‘but my breasts are so small, there is no way they are an E. Topless women in magazines are a size E, not me’. Well, I was wrong. But it took a while for me to be convinced. I think the page that quite thoroughly convinced me was this one (NSFW). Here is a collage of women wearing D/DD cup bras which fit them correctly. In my mind a woman in a DD cup had certifiably large breasts. Not the case, apparently. I’m going to willingly go ahead and blame media for perpetuating myths about D+ cups being ‘enormous’ and for skewing women’s perceptions.

The piece that BLEW. MY. MIND. was Busty Resources’ article on Migrated Breast Tissue.. I admit, I am still confused and dubious about this, but I think they have a point. Find yourself to have bulges coming out both above, below and behind your bra? That is breast tissue (apparently). Through wearing cups that are too small, and a band size too big, your bra can shift throughout the day and eventually force breast tissue to move around, giving you lumps of fat under your arms and possibly ending up as lumps of fat on your back. If it doesn’t fit in your bra then it has to go somewhere, does it not? Anything that promises to re-locate back fat into breasts is guaranteed to have women jumping for joy. Through wearing a correctly fitting bra a woman may find that she will gradually need a smaller band size and a bigger cup.

At this point, I was sold. Here comes, possibly, one of the most important things I learnt on my journey to a new bra world. It is the Scoop and Swoop. When putting on a bra I would often simply…place it on my chest and go about my merry way. This is when you will end up with migrated breast tissue – especially if your bra is ill-fitting. When you put on a bra it is recommended that you lean forward, pull the bra away from your side and with your opposite arm reach around and scoop all of the tissue from your back and underarms into the cup. This is when you will really see how your bra fits you. When I did this in my C cup I almost burst out of it completely and was left with the unwanted ‘Quad Boob’. Nothing summarises the necessity of the Scoop and Swoop more thoroughly than this blog post from Bras and Body Image (NSFW) in which she demonstrates her bras both before and after the Scoop and Swoop. If you have tried on a bra and thought to yourself ‘oh this is much too big in the cups’ then try out this method to really see how it fits. Even for smaller sizes it is important to do this or you might end up with more breast tissue sitting under your armpits than in your bra. The underwire and cups should completely encompass your breast – if your breasts spill back out into your armpits then you need a bigger cup.

When trying out your new bra size it is likely to be somewhat uncomfortable, especially if you are suddenly wearing a band size 4 inches smaller than you are used to. If you can put more than 4 fingers into your bra band, or pull it away quite far from your back then it is much too large. A correctly fitting band should leave slight red marks on your skin after wearing. Not so much that it is uncomfortable, but they should be there. It is the band of your bra which does the majority of the support (or at least should be) so if it is sliding down your back and not holding its place then it is doing nothing for you. The straps are there to hold the cups up and keep the shape, not to hang your breasts off. You are going to have to learn to fasten your bra behind your back because, if you are wearing the correct band size, you shouldn’t be able to fasten it at the front and twist it around. You’ll learn it in about 5 days – I did and I am currently sporting a very large burn on my face due to my lack of co-ordination with a curling wand; even the most clumsy of us can do it.

If your new bra doesn’t fit perfectly then try going up or down a cup size until you find the right fit. Each bra is different; padded and moulded bras may be more difficult to fit than an unpadded one. I have never worn an unpadded bra – until now, and I love it. If the gore of the bra does not fit flat, AGAINST your chest then your cups are far too small. If the band rises, or slips down, it is too small or too big. If your breasts spill out over the top then the cups are too small. If your breasts do not fill the cups then try the Scoop and Swoop then reassess.

Either way, you will be much closer to wearing a correctly fitting bra and will, hopefully, continue to share the message about how to *really* wear a bra – and please feel free to be smug about the fact that you are now really in the 10-15% of women wearing a correctly fitting bra. Tell everyone!!!

My recommendations for starting to look for a well fitting, good quality bra would be to head over to Figleaves. They have a plethora of bras, from almost every good quality company and are almost guaranteed to stock your size, whatever it may be.

Two other good links I found which summarise all of this information fantastically are found here and here and here. I could go on forever but here we must part and you must continue on your journey to a correctly fitting bra alone.

Hi ladies! I am Adrienne Ayers.

Writing is one of my passions and through my writing and social activism I plan on enlightening, uplifting and helping others see the beauty in ourselves and the world around us.

The fight for our joy can seem like a constant ongoing battle with us often finding ourselves up against many forces. After dealing with friends, work, and even family, it’s honestly not that hard for the light that so desperately wants to shine within us to be dimmed right before our very eyes. Why is it that sometimes we can find ourselves easily pushed deeper and deeper into the swarm of negativity surrounding us and fall prey to losing the one thing that God so desperately wants us to have; our joy. One reason behind this is the simple fact that we don’t realize how much power we really have over our everyday situations. Understanding that you’re in full control of how things play out on your side can make a world a difference.

It’s important to realize that “Happiness comes from the way you choose to live and respond to the world, not from the way the world responds back.” This is a quote from Ralph Marston who has been dubbed “The Daily Motivator”.

Happiness is a choice, and many times it’s a choice that we seem to ignore because we let negativity take over and build a home right in our heart and also in our mind, which holds the key to open the door to joy.

When it comes down to it, I try my best to ask myself a couple simple questions with every situation that presents negativity to me. “How bad do I want to be happy?” and “Am I really trying my best to experience the joy that I know God wants me to have?”

Both questions are equally important. When asking myself how bad do I want happiness, I allow myself to dwell on the fact that we try our best to attain those things in life that are most important to us. Those things can range from material items to even our emotions. I place my joy on a very high level of importance for various reasons. One reason is because through my joy, I know I’m able to lift others to the same place as myself. Once I’ve done that I can feel good knowing that they too will interact with someone else. The next person will be lifted by their smile, good vibes, or the love that shines through that person’s spirit that I helped.

We all need happiness, and spreading it throughout the world is my personal mission. When answering the second question, I keep in mind that God has given us the option of peace all along but it may not seem like it when we’re presented with a not so peaceful situation. Joy and peace are not decided by the situation you are presented with but how you choose to react to that situation.
