Meet Dr. Brent Lipke DC

But after sustaining a serious injury in High School football and conventional medicine failing to help me, I was referred to a Chiropractor, Dr. Paul Meyers.

When I first entered his clinic I was shocked.  I had never seen such a vibrant healthy place.  Most clinics I had been to were dismal, miserable places full of sick people.  This place was different.  Seniors, babies and people of all ages were lining up for adjustments and loving the process!  Patients were ‘high-fiving’ the staff and laughing out loud. Dr Paul was transforming people’s lives and having a blast doing it!  

I sat through one of Dr Paul’s “Doctor’s Reports” and was amazed as he explained how the body worked and how it broke down, what Health really was, and how Chiropractic focused on correcting the CAUSE of health problems instead of just patching them up. 

I’ll never forget the very first adjustment Dr Paul gave me.  I could feel blood return to my back and the spasms in my legs subside.  It was as if a huge weight had been lifted off of me. It was incredible!  That’s when I knew that this is what I was meant to do for the rest of my life!  I just HAD to become a Chiropractor!”

Dr Brent began his pre-Chiropractic education at the University of Western Ontario where he studied biology, physiology, organic chemistry, anatomy and physics.  After completing his study there he was accepted into the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.  During his four years at CMCC, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy, neurology and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, nutrition, Chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the CMCC Outpatient Clinic.

After graduating in 1995, Dr Brent returned to Guelph (his wife, Jody’s hometown) to practice.

 ”We love skeptics,” smiles Dr Brent.  “I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the Chiropractor for the first time.  So we make a point to explain everything in advance and educate our patients fully so they can make their own informed choice about the care they want.  Patients appreciate that.”

Our focus on education gives our patients a much deeper understanding of how their bodies work, how they break down, what Health really is, and what it is not.  We teach them to look to answer the “Why?” question.  The question “Why do I have the problems that I do?” goes right to the source and handles what is CAUSING their health problems.  Once the cause is identified, patients can then take back control of their health, instead of simply patching up symptoms.

We also have a focus on Corrective Spinal care.  Like braces for teeth, we offer Corrective Spinal care as a opportunity to stabilize the structural cause of your problems, preventing on-going spinal degeneration and a relapse of symptoms.  Like wearing a retainer following braces, many patients choose to get on-going Maintenance adjustments on a less frequent basis to maintain the correction they have made, protecting their health investment and preventing a relapse.  The choice is always up to you.

Dr Brent met his lovely wife Jody while they studied at the University of Western Ontario.  She went on to practice as a Registered Dietician for 14 years, who now practices through the clinic as a Nutritional Cleansing coach, focusing on cleansing, detoxification and weight management. 

Together they have been blessed with 5 beautiful children – Tyler, Jordan, Jessy and the twins, Jacob and Brooklyn. They are all competitive dancers, all sing or play instruments, the boys love football, and the girls love gymnastics.  All of their children were born at home, except the twins, none have been vaccinated or have received antibiotics.  With mom as a Dietitian and dad as a Chiropractor they are healthier than most of their friends and have been checked-out and adjusted since birth. 

In his spare time Dr Brent enjoys running, weightlifting, waterskiing, wakeboarding, mountain biking and golf.  Playing with his 5 kids or having a date-lunch with his wife are special times when he is so in the moment that time just flies by.

Dr Brent gets adjusted weekly to maintain a high level of nerve system function. He has a personal trainer (Taylor Beech of Vitality Fitness Studios) and works-out 3 times a week to maintain excellent health as an example for his patients, and to keep up his physical strength for adjusting them.  He maintains a healthy diet, stretches weekly, takes vitamins and minerals daily, and enjoys running.  He believes the body’s natural state is one of health and that medications are meant for emergencies only, for use when the body is overwhelmed. As such he doesn’t vaccinate his children or give them non-emergency medications, rather he ensures his family have healthy immune systems through proper nutrition and uninterrupted nerve supply.

I had a great talk with Iz & Az last night. I realized that people who I’m surrounded with now lift me higher to make ME a better person, a better friend, a better wife, a better everything. We were also talking about how people like to have their insecurities conquer them and their life. And honestly as a human being, who isn’t?

Today,  I woke up and I realized that I let too many things bother me and stop me from what I want to do and be. So I’m going to fight for ME.

I want a better life,

I want to fight for my future children so they can have a better life than me.

I want to buy that house for my parents.

I want to be everything that I long for that I feel I lack in.

And so, the song below is for all of us.

And especially for Iz, Az & AJ.

I know we can do it and be lifted higher than who we are now in the future.

Of course. I knew it when they told us we would have to do this skill set. And I knew it as I was sitting at the desk waiting to pull it out of the bedpan. (Not really, it was a plastic baggy–random draw of a skill to demonstrate.)

But I did not panic. I studied. A lot. I took all the skills, from enema’s to bed-making to ROM to safety devices, positioning and transfers…I did them all. Over and over until I was comfortable. Mason helped ENORMOUSLY! He let me practice everything I needed (with the exception of enema and rectal temp…big baby) and when I sat down, picked enema, faced the nurse evaluator with ALL that experience, I just…relaxed. I knew the material. I knew the process. I knew WHY I knew the process. She said I seemed very competent. That is good enough for me. Relief. I did forget one thing, but not a failure. And that’s good because I feel that this is my calling. Does that sound lame?

Every time I learn something, or every time I do a skill, even just practice for fake, I feel like I am right where I should be. Like I can really DO this job and be good at it and want to work. It feels real natural. All these years…and now I figure it out. Well, better late than never right?

And speaking of all these years, to get off all that serious, it’s my birthday! Yay Me! I got some pictures….but first, I have to share with you some other people that share my birthday. I turn to D-Listed, as always, and the shock of celebrity birthdays. I knew about Salma and Keanu, but Shauna was a surprise! I think I might be changing what I want for my birthday. 38 years ago today, angels came down from heaven carrying a brilliant lucite pearl, because they believed the world needed more elegance and glamour. As soon as Shauna Sand’s perfect toes touched Earth’s soil, stripper poles got shinier, titty implants got harder and lucite was born. Yeah, anything they called “lucite” before then was just cheap low-grade plastic, because it had not been blessed by Shauna!

Last night, The Empress of Lucite and her greasy baguette went out to celebrate the most important day in history by gracing the streets of Hollywood with her gorgeous presence. Shauna is so pure of heart, because she is thinking of others on her special day. Speaking of, why are you at work? This is the most important day in history!

You must immediately leave the office, head to the nearest Frederick’s, purchase a pair of exquisite lucite heels, go home, place them in the middle of the room, decorate them with lights, kneel before them and thank the heavens above for giving us the gift that is Shauna Sand!

And Shauna didn’t wear her main lucite heels last night, because they like to spend the evening before her birthday handing out heels to less fortunate whores on Hollywood Blvd.

Historias a parte, si hay algo que nunca me pierdo son sus cortometrajes que preceden a cada largometraje. Bajo la dirección de John A. Lasseter ,siempre divertidos y capaces de contar historias de lo más variadas en el lenguage más universal, únicamente la imagen (a excepción de alguno de los últimos títulos). Además son un excelente instrumento en el que estudiar la evolución del proceso digital.
