After a lazy morning reading and blogging we decided to explore Holy Island and Lindisfarne castle which is close to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

The poem ‘Walking on Polanski’s isle’ came from a summer’s walk on the island of Lindisfarne, off the coast of Northumberland, as my mind wandered between what I was seeing, what occurred when Vikings raided over a thousand years ago, and my recollection of, for me, a great black and white film made on the island in the sixties by Roman Polanski. 109 more words
