After four dry days, showers are returning to Perth and are likely each day through to the end of next week, bringing 30 to 50 millimetres of  rain.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

The area from Mandurah to Margaret River should be the wettest with more than 50mm for some.

The wettest days are likely to be today, Saturday and Monday as three cold fronts link up with bands of cloud from the Indian Ocean.

These days are also likely to be the windiest with potential severe gusts of 90kmh or stronger in coastal parts, south of about Perth. Winds of this strength can bring down trees. Gusts in excess of 100kmh cannot be ruled out.

July is traditionally the wettest month of the year for southwest Western Australia and this coming wet spell will take most of the region to about two-thirds of the monthly average. So far, less than half the monthly average rainfall has fallen.

Perth has had 52mm, compared to the average of 149mm.

With this rain to come, this July is still unlikely to be wetter than last year when 179mm fell.

at A) boiling the jug to make a cup of coffee then forgetting, so usually the water has been boiled at least twice before I make the coffee. I guess that’s one way of making sure it’s clean.. lol

and B) actually drinking said cup of coffee with reboiled water. Usually I’ll get about halfway then completely forget about it.

The latter fail is extremely annoying to anyone who makes me a drink. It’s always, “nah I’m not making you a drink, you won’t drink it all!” to which I protest and promise I will… And then I don’t.. My parents try to make me half cups but I complain about that too!

Of course the most annoying thing for me is that when I actually have drunk it all, someone will say, did you even drink it all? To which I think I won’t have, so I think there’ll be some left, and then there isn’t. Talk about let down.

There’s no one home right now. So I have to make my own coffee. And fail exhibit A is presenting itself. I’m up to boil number 2. Just reboiled it and FINALLY have my cup of coffee. In my favourite cup – the free united video cup my mum got on her birthday. I call it my cup. She calls it her cup. It’s whoever gets to it first lol.

So I’m really quite bored. I don’t have any money for petrol so I don’t want to drive anywhere today, because if I did, I’d have to fill my car up the next time I went to town. I have about $40, which I’m either going to use for some new shoes (heels for town) the LARP sword on trademe if I can convince my parents to pay the other half, or to go towards the costs of making my own. Which isn’t much. I just need a cattle prod which I actually probably have hehe, a camping mat, liquid latex, adhesive – ADOS something, and paint. I have paint, just not silver paint. Though the school my mum works at might.. teehee. It’s all about using your resources!

Right now I’m reading Link Up #1 the magazine “connecting correspondence students, whanau and their community” that’s the mag description. So far I’ve got to the first story, about a 15year old who used to eat lots of fast food and played far too much computer games, who now has lost 48kg (120kg down to 72kg) by eating healthy, excercise, goal setting and he’s even got a “renewed passion for learning” good for him!

And yeah. Next over the page is Growing jobs. Doesn’t look interesting… NEXT. Student work from year 9 and down.. NEXT. TCS for students in NZ’s youth prison units.. Wow there are 311 Department of Correction students on the TCS roll. Blah blah english curriculum. Blah blah a 12 year old produced an audio CD about yoga for kids. Blah blah “A bang of a time!” an article bout the chemistry day I went on. There was like two bangs throughout the entire day.. Lol. And the rest of the mag is just boring crap. I’m not sure how it is meant to link things together really…

So I’m going to go finish my coffee and see what crap is on tv. Hopefully there will be a midday school hol movie or I’m playing a game.

Apparently http://www.condron.us/ has been picking up my blog in their site. It cycles through a bunch of blogs at random. It seems interesting enough considering it does bring in traffic and it has been frequenting my blog off and on for the last week or so.

I spent the last 10 minutes cycling through the blogs on the player (all 100 + of them) and found some pretty interesting blogs there myself. Some from writers, some are just your average mum not to mention a plethora of different styled bloggers.

You can apparently attract their player to your blog by blogging about them with URL in the post. Worth a shot at it, I love sharing my heart’s work so here I find myself blogging about them to attract them.

Life Line and Link-Up for Customers with Disabilities

Life Line and Link-Up are national programs that help ensure everyone has access to telephone service. These programs provide discounts to income-eligible individuals for both the initial installation costs of telephone service and for monthly telephone bills. Services differ from state to state and may even differ within a state, based upon individual phone carriers in each region.

Life Line and Link-Up programs are offered to individuals who meet one of the following criteria:

1) Must meet income eligibility requirements OR

2) Receive assistance from:

• Medicaid
• Food Stamps
• Safety Net Assistance
• Family Assistance
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Veteran’s Disability Pension (DP) non-service related
• Veteran’s Surviving Spouse Pension (SSP) non-service related
• Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)

In NYS, there are at least three special Life Line and Link-Up program offerings available to individuals with disabilities. Three of these programs are offered by the following carriers:

Safelink Wireless offers a free cell phone and 68 minutes of free service each month to qualifying individuals. Customers who receive SSI or Medicaid and/or meet income eligibility requirements may apply online at www.safelinkwireless.com. Once the application is approved (often within hours),  a TracFone is generally shipped with 5-10 business days to the customer at no charge. Extra minutes may be added to the monthly program at additional cost. Please note there is no limit to the minutes used, however, extra phone minutes and the related expense can add up quickly.

Verizon Life Line offers reduced rates for home phone service and allows customers the option of Basic rate vs Flat rate. Most fees, surcharges and taxes are waived from these accounts. Phone rates are generally less than $25 per month. Unfortunately, the Verizon application process is long and may take anywhere from 6-12 weeks or more for approval. Life Line can not be applied for online and is faster to process by fax rather than by mail. At the time of this writing, the Life Line application was not accessible via the www.verizon.com website.  Call Verizon Life Line at 1-800-799-6874 for more information.

Sprint Life Line offers reduced prices for cell phone service. New customers who qualify for Life Line will receive a cell phone at no charge but must pay for shipping and for activation ($12 and $18). A two year contract must be signed which provides 200 anytime minutes per month, unlimited nights and unlimited weekends after 9pm for $16.49 per month plus tax. Additional minutes may be used at extra cost and once the monthly bill exceeds $75, phone service is disconnected until the balance is paid down. Other extra fees may be added to the account for Sprint mobile to mobile calls etc.  Call Sprint Life Line at 1-866-827-3290 for more information. Or go to www.sprint.com and type lifeline (as one word) in the search bar. Then click on New York to download the application which must be faxed to Sprint.

PLEASE NOTE – You can only have one Life Line account per individual. This means you can not have a wireless Life Line account plus a home account at the special rates. Life Line is a federally sponsored program which various states and carriers participate in.

Arkitektskolen +- Designskolen
Kulturministeriet offentliggjorde d. 25 februar,  Struktur- og Samarbejdudvalgets rapport, der indeholder en række anbefalinger af fusioner og forpligtende samarbejder inden for Kulturministeriets videregående uddannelser. Rapporten anbefaler bl.a. en fusion af Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole og Den Danske Designskole, samt Glas- og Keramikskolen på Bornholm. Formål er at undersøge mulighederne for mulige fusioner og forpligtende samarbejder mellem de videregående uddannelser, der hører under Kulturministeriet.

Heftige diskussioner:
Ringen er åben og diskussionen er uden handsker - endelig!!  Hvad udfaldet af fusionskursen end vil blive, så er det godt at se nogle holdninger på bordet – hvad synes elever, afgængere og lærer på de 2 skoler.
