I början på 80-talet kom det en våg med nya Brittiska Soul/Funk-band och de hade de flesta hittat ett sound som skilde sig rätt så rejält från deras amerikanska kusiner. Den här höjdaren med Beggar & Co. tycker jag är ett utmärkt exempel på det.

Vad jag föll för i den här låten var speciellt det underbara gitarrspelet som speciellt tar plats i ett av mina favoritbreak genom tiderna. Brukade ofta blåsa på lite extra när jag spelade det hemma i pojkrummet i Västervik.

Utöver Beggar & Co. så fanns det grupper som Light Of The World, Linx, Freeez & Central Line vilka alla bidrog till att sätta det gamla imperiet på musikkartan.

There was some embarrassment amongst the staff of an Asian newspaper recently that picked up a ‘news item’ in ‘The Onion’ and ran with it as ‘gospel’, unaware of what sort of site The Onion is.

But this seems to have escaped the staff writers employed at “The Australian” who reprinted it as fact.

(ano passado eu lhe dei um Naruto Ultimate Ninja 2 copiado do meu!) aheuheaueh Falando sério, o cara merece (o edy vai ficar puto porque eu não fiz um pra ele) porque na casa de quem a gente foi assistir o VMB e xingar os emos ganhadores de quase todos os prêmios? Quem é o companheiro das roedeiras às altas horas da madrugada? Com quem se tentar jogar warcraft III pelo hamachi e não consegue por motivos obscuros? De quem embolsar  gigas de boas músicas? Como jogar RPG sem ele ter mestrado a primeira sessão? Quem é que faz as melhores piadas do grupo? Quem é que faz você ficar esperando na chuva por causa de um plano maléfico? Quem é que faz piadinhas com você no meio das reuniões DeMolay? Como existiria essa bagaça se não fosse as ideias malucas dele? Quem é o melhor da cidade, se brincar é do país, no Campo Minado? Hein? Cuando estás instalando una distro (vieja escuela, no los live cds de ubuntu o OpenSUSE), o bajo alguna otra circunstancia extraña, te encuentras en un entorno sin X. Es decir, no estas en modo gráfico (runlevel 5) sino en alguno de los otros runlevels. Sabes que google puede solucionar tu problema.

En mi caso, olvidé una parte de la instalacón de arch, no recordaba que daemons debia agregar al archivo de configuración. Y bajo consola no podía acceder a el tutorial que estaba siguiendo. Así que recorde una herramienta muy útil y desconocida. Links.

Links es un navegador web que no soporta javascript y corre bajo modo de texto. Así, basta para este tipo de consultas de emergencia. La mayoria de distribuciones lo incorporan por defecto, pero si no, basta con instalar el paquete links.

Raekwon has been in the music industry for years. Many of us know him as the Chef, a member of the Wu-Tang Clan or one of the hardest underground mainstream artists out. Whatever you might identify him as, it’s obvious his new album is getting huge buzz in the music industry. Although he shied away from questions regarding the recent Joe Budden beef Raekwon the chef still talked about his new album Only Built for Cuban Linx II, acting and the major producer lineup for the album.

So what types of things are you working on?

Just things like movies, books and music. You know, I’m trying to stay busy.

You have a new album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II. What can fans expect from this album?

You can expect classic raw hip hop at its finest, I’m taking it back to where I had no deal and didn’t care what people thought.

This rumors you have some special producers on this album. Who is on the production?

Well you know I got an all-star cast. To name a few: Doc Dre, RZA, J-Dilla, Marley Marl, Pete Rock and the list goes on and on for real!

Talk about being signed to Aftermath.

Well actually I was never signed to Aftermath it was more or less a verbal agreement and you know Dre and Aftermath had a lot on there plate and I couldn’t afford to waste more time but it was pleasure working wit Dre because even if I wasn’t signed with them I still wanted him to be apart of the album.

Can we expect some classic tracks with any of the Wu-Tang members?

Of course, you know you got the classic Rae and Ghost things, and we got the whole fam on it but every time me and my brothers get on a record its classic period.

Tell the fans about IceH20 and the companies goals in the future.

Well IceH20 is my company that I plan to take to the next level with new artist, books, movies and so forth. It’s more like a multimedia brand that I want to take to the next level and put some talented people on.

Talk about your acting roles.

I thought it was time for me to span out and brand myself to a new label and it’s fun going into different roles.

I met Grace online…I know huh thats pretty random. I didn’t get to actually meet her until she made an appointment for a photo shoot, so meeting her was actually pretty cool. She’s a nice girl, with some….very interesting personalities and hidden features that I would never expect….if you know what I mean. Grace and I are pretty good friends despite the fact we only seen each other 3 times or 4 times….I was probably forgetting the meteorshower day. Well…she’s just awesome to hang around with and she’s pretty funn!!

This is a small scale demonstration of wireless power transfer between two coupled parallel LC tuned circuits, each consisting of a copper conductor loop acting as an inductor and a capacitor.

Both LC circuits are tuned to equal individual resonant frequencies. One of them is a part of a 1.5Mhz radio frequency oscillator powered by 12 volts DC, while another is loaded by a 24V 5W incandescent light bulb. Brought in proximity, copper loops share a small mutual inductance, essentially forming a transformer. In order to transmit significant amount of power through this transformer a very large amount of reactive power needs to circulate in it’s primary, requiring use of a thick copper tube for the conductor, and a bank of eight 6.8nF capacitors in parallel.
Receiver coil’s leakage inductance is in turn canceled out by another capacitor, allowing for the maximum power transfer to the load.

Experimenting with copper loop orientations, one can find positions of the receiver close to transmitter where no power is received, as total magnetic flux crossing through the receiver loop is zero. Hence this is a directional method of power transmission.

Due to small size of the apparatus very little power is actually radiated in far field, with losses being mainly ohmic heating. Hence this method is also sometimes known as non-radiative or near-field power transmission.

A group of over 300 internet service providers and telecommunications firms is fighting back against the British government’s plans to monitor all emails, phone calls and internet activity nationwide.

The London Internet Exchange (LINX), which represents some 330 companies, including BT, Virgin and Carphone Warehouse, says that the government is misleading the public about the extent to which it plans to monitor their communications and internet activity.

LINX has described the Government’s surveillance proposals as an “unwarranted” invasion of people’s privacy.

A statement from the group to the Home Office reads:

“We view the description of the Government’s proposals as maintaining the capability as disingenuous – the volume of data the Government now proposes we should collect and retain will be unprecedented.”

“This is a purely political description that serves only to win consent by hiding the extent of the proposed extension of powers for the state.”

The group also stated that the volume of data the government wishes it to retain cannot be held by any known technology at this time.

Last year the government announced its intention to create a massive central database, gathering details on every text sent, e-mail sent, phone call made and website visited by everyone in the UK.

The programme, known as the “Interception Modernisation Programme”, would allow spy chiefs at GCHQ, the government’s secret eavesdropping agency, the centre for Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) activities (pictured above), to effectively place a “live tap” on every electronic communication in Britain in the name of preventing terrorism.

Following outcry over the announcement, the government suggested last April that it was scaling down the plans, with then Home Secretary Jacqui Smith stating that there were “absolutely no plans for a single central store” of communications data.

However, as the “climbdown” was celebrated by civil liberties advocates and the plan was “replaced” by new laws requiring ISPs to store details of emails and internet telephony for just 12 months, fresh details emerged indicating the government was implementing a big brother spy system that far outstrips the original public announcement.

The London Times published leaked details of a secret mass internet surveillance project known as “Mastering the Internet” (MTI).

Costing hundreds of millions in public funds, the system is already being implemented by GCHQ with the aid of American defence giant Lockheed Martin and British IT firm Detica, which has close ties to the intelligence agencies.

Currently, any interception of a communication in Britain must be authorised by a warrant signed by the home secretary or a minister of equivalent rank. Only individuals who are the subject of police or security service investigations may be subject to surveillance.

If the GCHQ’s MTI project is completed, black-box probes would be placed at critical traffic junctions with internet service providers and telephone companies, allowing eavesdroppers to instantly monitor the communications of every person in the country without the need for a warrant.

Even if you believe GCHQ’s denial that it has any plans to create a huge monitoring system, the current law under the RIPA (the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act) allows hundreds of government agencies access to the records of every internet provider in the country.

In publicly announced proposals to extend these powers, firms will be asked to collect and store even more vast amounts of data, including from social networking sites such as Facebook.

If the plans go ahead, every internet user will be given a unique ID code and all their data will be stored in one place. Government agencies such as the police and security services will have access to the data should they request it with respect to criminal or terrorist investigations.

This is clearly the next step in an incremental program to implement an already exposed full scale big brother spy system designed to completely obliterate privacy, a fundamental right under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Hmm… eigentlich nicht wirklich, ich bin nur auf dieses tolle Schneeballsystem aufmerksam geworden.  Wenn es perfekt funktioniert, führt es dazu, dass jeder, der am Gewinnspiel teilnimmt seine Chancen exponentiell verringert und gleichzeitig noch zur Werbemarionette derjenigen wird, welche den Preis verlosen. Wenigstens muss man seine Adresse nirgendwo angeben. Ach und ist doch eh egal, man kann was gewinnen.

edit: Was wäre eigentlich wenn ich das Teil gewinne? Könnte ich es dann weiter verlosen? So dass dann alle auf mein Blog aufmerksam werden? Und der glückliche Gewinner verlost das Spiel dann wieder? Wenn man das so treibt muss ja eigentlich rein mathematisch jeder Internetnutzer einmal durch sein. Ok, müsste man bei Kettenbriefen theoretisch auch, aber es gibt ja immer irgendwen der die Kette unterbricht. Vorallem da hier ja auf Grund der nur linear steigenden Anzahl der Leute die das Game verlosen das ganze überhaupt nicht so schnell von Statten geht wie bei einem Kettenbrief. Also ein dummes Konzept. Aber ist doch eh egal, man kann was gewinnen.
