Llegan las navidades y muchas compañías sacan sus armas pesadas para ser los reyes magos de las ventas.
Una de estas grandes batallas la protagoniza tanto Lips como Singstar. Singstar tiene la hegemonía en los juegos de cantar (o dar el cante, según se mire), pero Lips es la apuesta de Microsoft para arrebatarle cuota de mercado.

El año pasado Lips apareció tímidamente en el mercado, sacando un popurrí de canciones de varios estilos. Parecía que solo estaban testeando la acogida de la gente, dado que no parecía que se decidiesen por nada concreto.

Ahora bien este año quiere consolidarse como el gran ganador de estas navidades y por ello aparece Lips Canta en español y Lips Number one Hits. Uno solo con canciones españolas y el otro con internacionales. Lips ofrece algunas novedades y mejoras respecto a Singstar, aunque aún le queda camino para desbancarlo de su trono.

Por ello una de las grandes bazas que cuentan ambas compañías es el Marketing. Odiado por muchos y querido por otros.

Por una banda, Singstar cuenta con Gasol para hacer un anuncio divertido y cargado de humor. Aprovechando que tiene una voz grave, su altura y su tamaño de pié. En el se intenta vender un Singstar basado en las grandiosas canciones de Mecano.

Por la otra, Microsoft apuesta por las típicas canciones odiosas y pegadizas que no puedes sacarte nunca de la cabeza.

Rumors had it that our Caldecott Sex Goddess, Fiona Xie is going to ditch the limelight for the taitais’ society. Such disturbing news to all the guys out there, indeed, isn’t it? She is one of the most desirable women in Singapore and has a voluptuous bust line. One mention of Fiona and the film scene of her and some other actresses running along the bustling Orchard Road in their bikinis comes to mind.

Definitions of sexiness, well has to be the color Red, plunging neckline, hot body, being tall, lean, a firm butt and having a long mane of hair sort of round it up.

Brazilian Supermodel Gisele Caroline Bundchen and Hollywood Glamour Star Angelina Jolie definitely fit the bill perfectly, according to my understanding of Sexiness.

For sure, having a hot body is fundamental but factors such as having a strong character, charisma and body language, especially a pair of lively and expressive eyes contribute to it all, when my friends & I ‘people watch’. Lolx.

In Singapore, most ladies are dressed in shorts and flip flops without much effort to doll up thus I have yet to find someone who can compete with Gisele Caroline Bundchen and Angelina Jolie.

Sigh and yes, my friends & I love to ‘people watch’ and gossip about the ladies other than the hunks in the streets. It is actually more interesting to play fashion police and at times, to gain fresh inspirations in dressing up and most importantly knowing what to avoid so as not to be a laughing stock.

Do you like to ‘people watch’ and have you come across any attractive person(s), whom you deem as sexy? It can be a male or female, a celebrity or a personal friend.

Well, I thank God that, err, I have thick lips as  I have received compliments about it from both my guy and lady friends. Ha-ha, So I reckon that it is one of my assets. Except that, age is catching up and more efforts have to be sowed in order to reap or maintain the self -desirable ‘sexy’ image.

The very first step and top priority is to have a flat tummy but I also understand that Gisele and Angelina go to the gym VERY regularly and have a strict diet. I am trying really.

(P/s: Some of the upcoming Korean celebrities are catching my attention too. Although the fact that many of them went under the knife to look perfectly gorgeous doesn’t sit in nicely with my idea of beauty. Oh well.)

I received Philosophy’s Raspberry Sorbet as a gift from my mom who wanted me to test out the most expensive lipgloss she’d ever seen.  I don’t have the heart to tell her otherwise, but this isn’t that expensive.

You can purchase this at Sephora or Sephora.com.  It is $12-$14 for 0.5oz of gloss.  This gloss in in a squeeze tube and not my favorite type of applicator.  I don’t even know what you would call this applicator other than a “smear” tip because that is how you get it on.

It has a rather large opening which makes application even more difficult.  The smell alone is worth the $14 bucks, but that is the only thing this gloss has going for it.  It is very difficult to apply, has very little color payoff and is waaaaaayyy too sticky.  I just don’t like sticky gloss.  Maybe that’s why I’ve never bothered to purchase one of these glosses even though they smell like heaven and taste rather good.  I just can’t get past the stickiness and application.

I get cold sores. Bet that wasn’t expected now was it. I’ll pause now to give you a moment to feel disgusted. For your information 20-40 % of the population will end up with recurring cold sores, though most people have been exposed to the virus at one point or another (according to webmd.com). Unless your part of the 60-80%, welcome to my world. I’m not sure how it was for everyone else, but I’ve had these bad guys visiting me for as long as I can remember, essentially forever. I remember them in elementary school, and not fully grasping what the hell was burning on my lip. I get them for any number of reasons… sunburned lips, lack of sleep, stress, it’s exactly 45.67 degrees outside, the wind blows west at 12 mph, I mean really anything can awaken my little pals.

Most of the time I just avoid the topic… pretend nothing is there and disguise it with lip gloss. Somedays though, my lip swells so big it looks like I’ve had it injected with oversized marbles. • Aldo Accessories – I only buy the most fabulous rings and earrings from here.  You know, the huge, magnificent kind.  Sometimes I like their studs.
• Aritzia – For the clothes.  If you don’t have an Aritzia or know what it is, check out the link.  Amazing!
• Nine West – For purses and flats.  Love them!
