Bostaden beslutade tydligen att stänga av all värme under gårdagen och natten. Resultatet är ett jäkla snörvlande och alldeles för få timmars sömn.

Men även i de ynkligaste stunder finns det ljus i tunneln (och så länge det inte rör sig om ett tåg är det någonting bra). Håkan Hellström släpper äntligen en ny live-DVD. Det görs i samarbete med Way out West-festivalen och är förhoppningsvis bara början på en lång och vacker fortsättning. Det finns X antal festivalspelningar som skulle kunna bli helt enorma DVD-utgåvor och då Håkan och Way out West visar att det går, ja då bör övriga arrangörer följa detta fina exempel. Mon(k)ey see, mon(k)ey do!

Konserten är filmad med 9 kameror och innehåller även extramaterial där Håkan och bandet talar om konserten samt Håkans karriär fram tills nu. Dvd:n innehåller 2 timmar och 2 minuter material och distribueras via EMI och finns ute i handeln från och med den 2 december. 10% av intäkterna skänks till Barncancerfonden.

-Om bara Sven-Bertil och symfoniorkestern hade kunnat dyka upp så tror att de här två timmarna är ganska sammanfattande för mitt 1:a decennium som sångare. Kanske också ett avbrott för en sambabateria och sedan avsluta alltihop med ett julbord, fortsätter Håkan.

-Jag har aldrig förr sett solen gå upp under en spelning men det gjorde den i Borlänge, man kan se hur det ljusnar under konserten. Det var en sån där sommarnatt som man aldrig vill ska ta slut och jag är glad över att den finns kvar nu, säger Håkan Hellström.

   Un openSUSE 11.2 care este foarte burduşit cu aplicaţii – educaţie, multimedia, grafică şi multe altele – practic un Live DVD care merită a fi instalat fie şi pentru faptul că te scuteşte de o grămadă de muncă dată de post-configurare şi instalări adiţionale . Câteva trăsături ale acestui distro customizat :

* Latest desktop environments: Gnome 2.28 + KDE 4.3.x + Sugar 0.86 + IceWM. Session defaults to Gnome, choice of booting into KDE is available right from the boot menu or at the login screen
* Applications include tons of Educational apps, graphics, development(many IDEs, compilers, debuggers etc), office suite, and complete multimedia support.
* LTSP server. LTSP allows you to run openSUSE on the PCs in the network without even installing or modifying local disks, just PXE boot the machines you want as thin clients. 5 users are already created for testing, linux1 – linux5, password is linux. openSUSE’s KIWI-LTSP has a lot more features and ease of use not available anywhere else. KIWI-LTSP automatically sets up all the services required to run the server including, DHCP, NBD/AoE, TFTP etc. Ideal for school/university labs and even offices.
* Hybrid iso image, single image to burn to DVD or dd it to USB stick, USB session can be persistent if second partition is created. It can be easily installed on hard disk by running live-installer from the desktop or boot menu. Information on how to create persistent live USB from the iso see this post.
* Profiled DVD same performance tweaks as official openSUSE 11.2 medias
* …and lot more in neat little 2.9G package .

   Un lucru care chiar îmi place din start, înainte de a-l încerca propriu-zis este artwork-ul bazat pe o nuanţă de verde închis – bine că am scăpat de kaki-ul ăla nesuferit . Probabil că îl voi instala şi pe hard şi dacă nu face figuri (sper să nu) îl voi păstra ca atare .

   N-aveam eu ce face in dimineata asta (vorba vine caci am pierdut o gramada de timp aiurea in tramvai) si zic sa ma uit putin la noul Gentoo 10.1, mai ales ca am vazut noul artwork misto pe mov – zis si facut – il dau jos si ii dau drumul in VM – KDE-ul e doar 4.3.1 si nu 4.3.2 cum ma asteptam, dar GNOME-le e vechi de tot – 2.26.3 . Mi-a placut melodia de la inceput si sunetul foarte clar fata de alte distro-uri rulate in VM, dar aici s-a oprit si entuziasmul – avand nevoie sa instalez pentru inceput Adobe Flash Payer-ul am zis sa caut un front-end pentru Portage si practic le-am incercat cam pe toate in terminal – niciunul nu vrea sa se instaleze pentru ca nu sunt ebuild-uri si mai trebuie nu stiu ce macaroane si asa mai departe – una peste alta un distro in anul de gratie 2009 care se mai incurca cu astfel de manevre pentru a instala niste amarate de pachete suplimentare nu merita nicio atentie – ce mare branza era ceva echivalent Synaptic-ului sau Sulfur-ului din Sabayon ? Da – Gentoo numai pentru geeksi !

   Distro-ul bazat pe Gentoo – Sabayon ajunge intr-un final si la versiunea 5, dar ceea ce nu-mi place din prima e miscarea asta stupida cu GNOME 2.26 ca desktop manager si cica ready pentru GNOME 2.28 – da, da – am mai vazut povestea asta la versiunea 4.1 cand tot asa GNOME 2.26-ul era valabil via Entropy si a fost valabil dupa o suta de ani .    In alta ordine de idei ceea ce mi-a placut intotdeauna la Sabayon a fost faptul ca e multimedia ready in toate privintele si are driverele video integrate, plus ca spre deosebire de Gentoo – are un GUI la managementul pachetelor – de data asta Sulpur, fostul Spritz .

Phish know as one an Iconic Jam band  is set release the group’s eleventh studio album (first album in five years) The album ‘Joy’ is set for a September 8th release followed by a live DVD in October entitled ‘Party Time’.

The two singer-songwriters behind the movie ONCE, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (aka The Swell Season), are out and about promoting their new record, Strict Joy.  It’s available for pre-order on Amazon.  It is set to be released on September 29th.

They just did a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR.  Its available over here or as a podcast (do a search for “NPR Live Concerts” in iTunes).  They do some new songs in the NPR studio as well as some faves.

Fata de RC-ul de care am mai scris pe aici nu a venit cu nimic nou, exceptand fireste bugfix-urile de rigoare . Se instaleaza usor KDE 4.3 RC3 .
