Canibus teamed up with Eminem’s former rap group, D12, to take shots at the Detroit rapper, Marshall “Eminem” Mathers. The Jamaican born rapper, Canibus, seems to be carrying on the beef that started in 1998 when he though Marshall had ghost-wrote a diss record by LL Cool J. Since then there have been shots back and forth from both rappers. On this track he spits a few harsh line like “You pushed D12 to the side to sign Volton 5, if Proof was alive he’d b dyin inside , you aint no hiphop messiah, you a bitch cause you dissed Mariah..”. The D12 members seem to be bitter about being ditched by Eminem and got a bit personal, mentioning his step-dad and his previous drug problem. They also claim that Marshall had fallen off and wasn’t a good enough rapper. We’ll have to wait for a response and see if Slim Shady still got tricks up his sleeves. I bet Mariah & Nick Cannon have this track on repeat!!

Curtis “50cent” Jackson finally released his hyped up album, ” Before I Self Destruct“, which the rapper claims is his last. The project, that comes with a movie written and directed by him [50cent], only managed to move between 150 – 160K units. From what l got from fans feed back, they say he has lost it and just aint the same as when he came out. The Queens Bridge rapper’s switch from gangsta rap to R’n'B/hiphop type style didn’t work to his advantage, like it did for LL Cool J. Prior to the release of the album, he shed tears for Rick Ross and Tripple C’s on their failure to move a lot of units and took shots at Jay-z as way of promoting himself. Maybe karma just came too quick for ‘Pimpin’ Curl’, i guess its true that ” Men lie, women lie, numbers DON’T”

It looks like old wounds heal slow as Canibus has set his sights back on Eminem to release another diss track at the Detroit native.

Rumored to be titled “Pop Killer,” the rapper, alongside another rapper known as DZK, digs up the past beef as he goes in on Mr. Mathers.

“I’ma fry you on behalf of Mariah and Michael, put you back on dem drugs, make you suicidal.  You can’t shut the record down, n*gga it’s viral.”

For those that don’t know the history, beef between the two reportedly started back in 1998 before Shady was even signed.  Em states that he was approached by Canibus and Wyclef Jean and was asked if he wrote the lyrics to LL Cool J’s diss track “The Ripper Strikes Back” which he denied, but added that Bus was rude with him.

Bus later tried to apologize for the incident by showing up at the Warped Tour in 1999 and asked him to rap along with him on the track “Phuck U,” but Shady turned it down, allegedly because he felt the track was a diss to Cool J.

Shots were allegedly fired initially on The Slim Shady LP and escalated once Canibus did his own version of “Stan” from The Marshall Mathers LP where he saved the life of the title character.  The two continued to spar with each other up to 2002.

“He’s a devil in a red dress on MTV.  He signed more Black people than a basketball team.  What you tryna say subconsciously, you can’t ride the beat like me.  Consciously, you know I’ll rock you to sleep.  Slim Shady, you a coward cause you scared to rap with me.  The only Black man you respect is 50.  And the greatest rapper of all time was dead right and dead wrong, you shouldn’t even have been on that song.”

Artists such as Royce Da 5’9” have started to weigh in on the attempt by the rapper to wage war once again.

Wherever the random diss came from, only Bis knows, but Em is one with quite the track record with battle rap.  “Warning” shows that he isn’t afraid to throw a woman under the bus and his relentless references to his former wife Kim shows that he knows no bounds and can see no boundaries.

Engaging countless battles in his career ranging from Everlast to Cage to Ja Rule to Jermaine Dupri, the white rapper has earned his stripes in the battlefield.  Good luck.

Throughout the 70’s & 80’s, many of these artists threw up tags and bombed on trains and walls all over the world.  Now, they have evolved into incredible talents in fine art.  One of these cool dudes is Eric Haze or “Haze” as he’s famously known. What’s pretty freaking awesome about Mr. Haze is that he had a huge solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Hong Kong.  Nice, right?!  I had the pleasure of going to the opening of his exhibit at the Level 2 Gallery in downtown NYC recently.

First of all, I got there late.  Anybody that knows me understands how awful I am with time.  Whatever, love me or leave me!  I get there and head upstairs to the gallery and I walk into the room, and its totally rocking.  The ambiance was on full tilt.  The people, the music, and the lofty venue with to die for huge windows set the scene.  The place was packed with the “downtown” likes and hipsters while DJ A-Trak and DJ Neil Armstrong spun the adrenaline.

Screw the art at this moment.  I can’t see a thing because there is too much activity and heat clouding my view.  Now, I’m sweating bullets!  I need a “free.99″ cocktail and one of those gi-normous windows to catch a breeze for a minute.  Not only did I find all of the above, but I also caught the aromas of the leaf (if you know what I mean).  Let’s get focused, I think to myself, and check out the art.  While doing so, I’m told KAWS and Jose Parla were there.  Check out these artists as well…Quality!

As an observer, his style is that of a minimalist that focus on lines and graphic shapes.  I did enjoy his black & white monochromatic pieces.  Don’t think I’ve ever seen art interpreted that way.  That felt good!  Overall, not really the type of art that I gravitate towards, but he’s certainly talented.  You have seen his work before even if you don’t know it.  His roster reads like a scroll from the old ass days..Public Enemy, Def Jam, Hip Hop logos, G-Shock etc..  You get the point.  If you don’t know him, then get to know him because he’s legendary!

Fresh Out The Oven é o nome do aparente 1° single do novo álbum de J.Lo – Love?. Super criativo como o próprio nome do álbum, a canção é um saco, e eu não sei por que estou fazendo esse review – essa música e seu respectivo clipe são pura bost# mesmo. Acho que tô só indignada de ver uma coisa dessas à essa altura do campeonato. Parece que Jennifer só mudou seu visual e estilo de canção pra seguir tendências atuais – uma coisa meio Kylie Minogue, David Guetta, quem sabe até uma Lady GaGa enrustida  - só que ficou mais Kylie do que Jennifer, se é que vocês me entendem. A impressão que fica é que, enquanto rappers e afins estavam dominando totalmente as paradas, foi bom associar sua imagem ao Bronx, Ja Rule e LL Cool J. Agora que a coisa está pendendo um pouco mais pro Dance Pop, de repente nos deparamos com cabelo curto, fashionismo barato (meio pobre, pra falar a verdade) e Pitbull. Se bem que colocar Pitbull em qualquer trabalho musical já é um erro fatal por si só…

Como diria Dado Dolabella : Jennifer traiu o movimento.

At the Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood party at Voyeur, Audrina, 24, was spotted oogling over Mark Salling, 27, the mohawk-sporting hunk from FOX’s new hit show Glee.

Audrina and Mark were reportedly very close at the event and even shared a table. They talked for 45 minutes, whispering into each other’s ears and laughing. Just before the clock struck 11pm, Audrina and Mark made an early exit with their respective entourages. Their cars followed one another out.

Hopefully she’s slowly forgetting about Justin Bobby. The last time Audrina dated an actor, it didn’t go so well. Hopefully this one is more down to earth.

Now, I’m from Missouri. Not a hotbed of urban beats, at least not back in 1985.  I was a country boy who knew I was different, but instead of now where its a bit easier to express your sexuality in High School, not so much then in Jefferson County. So I chose to be different musically. It started when Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall, then Thriller, wooed me from a childhood of Bee Gees and ONJ into the dark, we’ll mocha, side. Safe, sweet, non-threatening urban music. I felt edgy. I mean MTV wasn’t even playing MJ yet. But then boom. MJ hit MTV and it was all open wide. R&B pop music got much more popular around mainstream America, and even was OK to listen to in my neck of the woods. That got boring for me then. I needed something a bit riskier. So not only did i dip my toe into metal, but I found a second new outlet too. Rap. Not rap as you know it now, but early rap. Right before the dawn of hip hop as a multimillion dollar Top 10 industry, before the Beastie’s fought for your right, before Run DMC made we wanna vomit this way, there was just fun early hip hop.  Me and my best friend PJ were jammin’ hard on the likes of Kurtis Blow, LL Cool J’s Radio, UTFO and especially my 2 pics for today, Doug E Fresh’s La-Di-Da-Di and Toddy Tee’s Batter Ram.

They both make me giggle with glee for different reasons. La Di just reminds me of all the great free style shit that was going on in NYC at the time and how inventive and original this was at the time. Just 2 guys. No decks, no band, no nothing. Just talent. And Batteram, an early West Coast offering with its pre-gangsta simplicity putting down drug dealers and talking about how he’s got a wife and kids and a job. Admirable, but not too street. Hilarious. But I loved it at the time.

Well, after that, rap went 2 bad ways, Pop (MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice) and Gangsta. Neither appealed to me and I’ve only dabbled sinces (Missy, Matisyahu, De La Soul, Roots). But we had a few good years, hip hop. Thanks.

I’m a NCIS fan. Because of that, I watched the NCIS and NCIS: Los Angles premieres. Anyway, when I watched the NCIS: Los Angles premiere, I immediately thought that the actress who plays Hetty Lange looked like Edna Mode, the character that created the uniforms for the Incredibles, in the movie The Incredibles. Personally, I just found it really freaky that they look so much alike. I would say that they based Edna Mode on Linda Hunt. Anyway, I just found it freaky.
