Daniel tomou coragem, encheu seu peito de ar, virou um copo de J&B goela abaixo e foi atrás de seu alvo.

Suavemente loira, olhos pouco claros, braços de pêlos loiros e seios avantajados. Pareciam falsos, é verdade. Mas só pareciam. Ou não. “Nunca vi falsos, nunca nem toquei em um par tão perfeito… como vou saber diferenciar apenas no olhar?”, questionou Daniel a si mesmo, para logo depois voltar à realidade:

- Humm… oi, tudo bom?
- Ahn? Ah, oi. Quer alguma coisa?
- Queria convidar você e suas amigas para sentar comigo e meus amigos naquela mesa.
- E por que deveríamos?
- Bem… – Daniel titubeou, pensou que seu convite pudesse ser entendido de outra forma, mas quis arriscar mesmo assim, dadas as circunstâncias:

- Vocês são três, nós somos quatro.
- Mas na mesa só há mais dois… – disse a loira.
- A garrafa daquele raro J&B 15 anos é o nosso quarto parceiro. E ele é quem mais deseja conhecê-las.
- Então vamos!

Paulo e Fabio, amigos de Daniel, souberam aproveitar aquela noite, e por isso não se recordam muito bem do que aconteceu. O J&B os pegou de jeito. Mas Daniel lembra de todos os detalhes.

Ele lembra perfeitamente que Fabio se atracou com a morena e que Paulo teve para si a asiática. Já Daniel, encantou-se com a loira. O J&B segurava velas, quando Paulo, já bem alto e precisando ir ao banheiro, virou para a loira e perguntou:

- ONDE É QUE SE MIJA AQUI?!?!?!

A loira, que de loira não tinha nada, prontamente respondeu:

- O senhor gostaria de ir ao toalete?

Paulo só não ficou vermelho de vergonha porque não entendeu muito bem aquela situação. E também não ficaria vermelho de raiva pois já estava roxo de tão bêbado.

- Vamos embora meninas. – disse a loira.

Paulo quis segurá-la. Um erro que custou o que restava naquela garrafa de J&B, mas que, ao menos, tiraria Paulo do inevitável coma alcoólico daquela noite. Adrenalina salvadora essa.

Hoje, Paulo brinca dizendo que foi batizado com a água benta que irá impedir que nasça chifres em sua cabeça. Ou não.

Speaking of which… XDDD

Last Friday in Geo, we had this group project we were working on, so our teacher decided to let us listen to music from Youtube while we worked. ( Yes… that’s when one of the girls decided to play Justin Bieber)

Near the end of class, the Backstreet Boys ” I Want It That Way” started blaring, so naturally, everyone started to sing along.

We were really loud…

And then this random Grade 12 walks by, and stops and stares at us.

” WTF?”

At that moment, the song just happened to play, ” I WANT IT THAT WAY~”

Which of course, led me to scream out, ” THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID.”

And what made it better was the Grade 12 dude yelled it out the exact same time as me.

He gave me a high five.

I felt so proud of myself.

I love high school. XD The people are awesome.

Ah Mistabishi, it has been way too long. Although this may be his last release on Hospital Records after his pseudo-DJing scandal at Bassment presents Hospitality at Bar Mango. Personally, I could care less whether he DJ’s live or not at a set. There is a certain tinge of authenticity that comes with live mixing, as long as the tunes are good and nobody can see, who will notice? Although this clearly wasn’t the case at Hospitality. He even released a previously unreleased track on breakbeat.co.uk

In any case, the two tracks featured on one of the latest Hospital releases are absolutely wonderful, with a hint of weird not previously featured on Hospital or any label for that matter. The first track is Matrix’s remix of ‘From Memory’ from the album Drop. It’s an eerie sounding, almost euphoric cut of the song. The male and female voices are capped in such a way that gives it a soulful feeling unmatched by anybody else. It’s quite an oddball of a song.

The second track is aptly called ‘I Feel LOL’ and rightly so. It’s a bouncy tune with a female synthesized type of voice. It features a seemingly teenage idea of love with quite a few curses that do indeed bring the LOL. It’s a neat little track, yet at about 3:30 into the tracker it goes through a bunch of speed changes and the last minute or two finishes out at at least 1/2 speed. It really could have been better without the slowdown.

In any case, it’s a must have for any collection.

it is what it is. and that is hilarious.

In my Com 101 class watching Crash (2004) that features Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Eva Mendez, Brendan Frasier etc etc yadda yadda and the sex scene where the cop’s mom calls comes up. He picks up DURING sex and pisses off his hispanic partner. He then calls her Mexican and she schools him and tells him that she is Salvadorean and Puerto Rican. He then says

“Ah. Well then I guess the big mystery is, who gathered all those remarkably different cultures together and taught them all how to park their cars on their lawns”

Of course everyone laughs and I even hear a few comments in the class because, well, it’s a lecture class & the lights were off – there was anonymity and people’s true colors come out then.

One kid a few rows in front of me said “Yeah damn Mexicans”

So I yell.

“A white man taught us”

Silence.

Pasando a las presentaciones de los American Music Awards, a alguien se le ocurrió invitar a Jennifer Lopez para dar pena ajena cantar (?) su nuevo sencillo Louboutins durante la ceremonia. Pues bien, todo iba conforme a lo planeado con una coreografía basada en el boxeo, cuando en una parte de la cancion, JLo se subió en sus bailarines y dio un salto para luego no calcular bien y caer de nalgas en el piso. Me sorprende que el impacto de esas masas gelatinosas con el suelo no causaron un terremoto que derrumbara el edificio. Algo me dice que más de una persona del público se desmayó por miedo a eso.

Menos mal que estaba usando tenis, porque si hubieran sido tacones el changazo hubiera sido peor y tal vez habría requerido que su esposo Skeletor subiera al escenario para cargarla. ¿Pero qué estoy diciendo? Skeletor es tan enclenque que si intentara levantarla, se pulverizaría en mil pedazos. En fin, para ver el momento justo del sentón, adelanten el video al minuto 2:40 ó pueden verlo en forma de gif aquí:

AOL is releasing its ties to Time Warner officially on December 10th of 2009, just before the start of the new 2010 year. This is a bold move, and they declare that their advertising strategies and management of the brand are to be just as strong. Several new logos have been released as the proposed new logo of the company, a far cry from those used in years passed. Their company name has even been altered to conform to mainsteam culture, or at least that’s what I’m proposing this is an attempt at. As can be seen from the picture’s caption, many have already compared it’s decision to lowercase the “o” and “l” of the previously written AOL, to that of “Lol.”, a commonly used abbreviation among instant messengers and texters alike. (Remember: AIM is a deviation of the same company, one of the most used instant messengers, and my messenger of choice).

The Positives: To me, releasing from Time Warner is going to be difficult, and given that the brand, in my opinion, is suffering from lack of integration into today’s socially connected environment, and even from viral marketing, seeing as it’s merger did just that and merged the brand, making it no longer a singuarly used brand name, means that the only way this seperation is going to work for for AOL is by extremely strong marketing and brand identity. Without strong integration and brand identity, and spreading this via the social networking chains, AOL will die alone. This is smart on their part to work to redefine themselves, and basically, essential to their existence.

The Negatives: This is a whole new logo, which is always pass or fail with companies. Brand identity is what defines a brand in the mind of the consumer and places their awareness in the appropriate location. To change is to take a huge step outside of the box and hope to swim and not tie a stone to their foot with a crash to the bottom. Changing something so dramatically involves smooth transition and intense marketing strategies. This can’t be something tossed together overnight, but a well-thought out plan of action. Seeing as this is the first that I’ve heard of the break, and the official date is only days away, I’m truly hoping this isn’t as rash as I have the feeling it might be. It definitely says that to the consumer, and makes one doubt the power behind AOL’s management team.

Noted Problems:

1. As mentioned, this resembles “Lol.” – I hope they plan on being more social network oriented if that’s the approach they were going for. Changing tyography styles or manipulating what was pre-existing is drastic. Sometimes, a change in font type or style is necessary more than just an alteration. Be sure this is truly what you want to say about yourself and that you are prepared to have valid backing for why you chose this for your brand. 2. Graphically, I’m not so sure that leaving the first letter capitalized is so wise. It looks a bit off. I would have gone with all lowercase if I kept the same style and font type. This is too similar without a real reason behind it. Any marketer knows that switching your letters around a bit isn’t re-branding. If it doesn’t have some serious validity, you end up causing the opposite effect: a lack of respect for the marketing team.

3. The logos chosen (See more at: http://mashable.com/2009/11/23/aol-logos/) don’t seem to have anything to do with the brand. They remind me of signing into my bank account online and having to pick from the random pictures until I see something I like that I feel fits me, or even a different array of random AIM profile icons. AOL is more than instant messaging, and definitely was defined before, now it looks sporadic and jumbled with no real sense of definition. The bottom 3 are the absolute worse, because they aren’t even true objects to me, just squiggles someone drew out. Did they hire preschoolers to liven up the brand a bit with crayon art? I can’t even tell what half of them are, much less why that should speak AOL to me, of Aol. in this case. Strong brand identity and management of a brand calls for one strong, single, unified symbol that should feel, speak, even sound like that of the brand. When you see it, you should recognize it as AOL’s logo and should understand why you relate it as such. These haven’t even hit photoshop yet… I see halftones and pixels!

But at least we got back into the CP Warfare spirit. Nice battles, it was fun – even the arguing. So yeah, I agree with Ads. Let’s see what Sergie says now…

I agree, this was good battle. But I think since you didn’t give us Yeti with Walrus, but only Walrus, then we will have 1 more thing before we agree. You either declare RPF as the best medium army, and become close allies or fight again and see who earns it, and probably have more arguments again. -.-

If you choose the first option, the RPF will announce you as the 2nd best medium army due to sportsmanship and active, reasonable leaders. We will also present an “close-brother allie treaty” which will make RPF and MFW a brother army, also making RPF help MFW at any battle they wish us to attend. If RPF is in trouble, MFW also could help if they have time. Sounds like a good deal unless you want the same thing over again with Option 2.

P.S. – That last bit owes itself to a nifty little show called NCIS, a guilty pleasure for anyone of refined taste, but well worth it anyway for the cast. The cast has an amazing amount of chemistry for being in yet another csi rip-off, and the characters are so well realized that one wishes that NCIS had been the first, and not CSI.
