Tempo di ritorni alla musica anche per Jennifer Lopez, a due anni di distanza dal suo sesto (e non fortunatissimo) album Brave.

Per un rilancio in grande stile, la scelta non poteva che ricadere sul duo di hit-maker più utilizzato del momento, The-Dream e Tricky Stewart, che confenzionano per la sexy latino americana una club banger tutta da ballare, in quello stile pop urban che è diventato il loro marchio di fabbrica.

Il testo, in perfetto tradizione J.Lo, racconta la storia che alla diva piace di più: lei ha il cuore spezzato, ma fiera prende le sue cose e se ne va. Stavolta, lo fa indossando un paio di strepitose Louboutin: le scarpe del celebre stilista francese, famose per la scintillante suola rosso laccata. In altre parole, più che una canzone uno spot in musica, intitolato (appunto) LOBOUTINS.

A parte il bridge a tre quarti di canzone, che fa perdere (inutilmente) il ritmo, questo singolo è davvero riuscito: un mix di sex appeal e fierezza, i due elementi che da sempre rendono la Lopez così favolosa, uniti ad un ritornello ossessivo che si canticchia già dopo il primo ascolto.

Ma questa non è l’unica nuova canzone della diva. Come sempre più spesso accade, l’album (intitolato Love? e previsto per Gennaio 2010) è stato anticipato anche da un buzz single, utilizzato per una divertente (anche se non molto originale) campagna di viral marketing, intitolata Who Is Lola. La Lola in questione è un personaggio interpretato (indovinate un po’) dalla nostra Jennifer che, con la partecipazione di Pitbull interpreta questa Fresh Out The Oven in sua vece. Il brano è prodotto dai Neptunes e, seppure non abbia riscosso grandi consensi, personalmente lo trovo divertente, con un bel beat elettronico e i fraseggi ansimanti della diva perfettamente mixati con le rime tamarre del rapper di Miami.

Chiamatela J.Lo, Jenny, Lola o, semplicemente, Jennifer, la Lopez è ancora una delle dive più hot dell’ultimo decennio. Determinata, più che mai, ad infiammare di nuovo i dancefloor e farci ballare. E se non potete farlo indossando un paio di Louboutin, per stavolta vi perdono: andranno benissimo anche un paio di comode Converse.

 Hello Darlings and Happy Thanksgiving to all you humans out there! Of course, if you knew what I knew about turkeys, perhaps you would try something I had today – Carrot Casserole!  So Tasty and none of those  nasty feathers to worry about!  Oh well, to each his own, n’est pas?

Anyhoo, darlings, I promised I would introduce you to other horses here in our lovely gated community and I NEVER go back on my word unless I can’t possibly help it, so here is one of the REAL HORSEWIVES of HOLLYWOOD.

Her name is Lola and boy does it suit her!  She is very very very blonde, from her size 10 hoofs to her mane.  Not that I am jealous – I most certainly am NOT!  I adore being a black beauty and  after all, I am lead mare here in Pastureville – but enough about me – for now!  Back to Lola!

First of all, she came from an auction!  Can you believe that?  Yes, my dears!  She actually had to stand and have humans bid on her!!!  I would have died if it were me!     I came from a lovely EXCLUSIVE residence called  Equine Advocates!  They have a lovely place up in Northern NY State.  I don’t think Lola even has papers!  Qu’elle domage!  

So now she is here in Pastureville and who does she think she is?  She thinks she is so hot!  We’ll of course we are all hot here in the summer – after all, it is Hollywood – but she thinks she is hot all year round!  You should see how she prances around - especially when Shiloh is around!  Tail up… well, I can’t really go into it further, but YOU KNOW!    She is so very very very blonde.   Yesterday we were waiting for the caterers to come and she said she wasn’t sure if she wanted hay that night.  Darlings, I am SURE you know this, but we dine on hay.  Hay in the morning, hay in the evening, hay at suppertime.    So I asked her what else she would like and she said… that Dried Grass.

I admit it, it was the cap that first caught my eye! It happens often, that I get drawn by the bottle or the cap, only to discover later that I really like the fragrance itself. Most of my fragrances (I am not a stable person, I change fragrances as soon as something else catches my eye…eeer I mean my nose!) had elaborate bottles: Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, Alexander McQueen Kingdom, Oh! De Moschino.

So, it was all bout the cap: that vinyl multicoloured flower, that reminded me strongly of Jeff Koons’ creations. As I later found out at the Lola website (yes it has a website of its own), the cap was designed by Marc Jacobs after twisting together layers of fabric to create an elaborate flower bouquet. And yes, as the website also points out, the cap is irresistible to touch!

So after adorning the cap, you move on to smell the fragrance, and as the cap promises, it is flowery enough (but not too much). It is a discrete, youthful and classy fragrance. It also reminds me of early spring (although it is winter now). The exact notes are (according to the Lola website):

Base notes: Vanilla, Warm Torka Bean and Creamy Musk

Heart notes: Rose, Fuchsia Peony and Geranium

Top Notes: Pink Peppercorn, Pear and Ruby Red Grapefruit

So…my only concern now is how to transform the cap into a brooch when the fragrance runs sort.

Something's got their attention...

It’s been a busy but boring few days in the life of Jen, and I’ve taken the liberty of sparing anyone reading an account of my errands and printing mishaps. So, I’ll skip right to the good stuff. Ok, it’s not that good but humor me.

I was lucky enough to dogsit for the cutest dog ever (aka McGreggor) this weekend, and after walking him Saturday night post-Coney Island venture, I began walking downtown to Union Square to meet Eugene. But I was sidetracked a bit by the thought of the northern outpost of Vanessa’s Dumplings. A quick left turn on 14th ensued, and Eugene was forced to watch me eat 8 pork and chive dumplings before we could continue our walk to the Brooklyn Bridge.

If you’ve never walked across the Brooklyn Bridge on a crisp fall night, you’re missing out on one of New York’s finest free pleasures. I hope to repeat it again soon. And what visit to the finest borough would be complete without a stop at the infamous Harry Boland’s?

On this particular trip I was dared to brave a dive bar dirty martini, which could quite possibly give new meaning to the name. I courageously ordered two, and they were delicious and dangerous.

Sunday saw me pretending to work while watching movies on Stephanie’s cable, but I did eventually get my work done and delivered just in time to pack up the car with my bags and a seriously pissed off kitten to go to Queens.

Some awesome Astoria Mexican food and one ridiculously early flight later, and I was ready to eat again! Dad obliged by taking me to Cracker Barrel, where there’s still a non-smoking section and you can order an entire breakfast without a hint of green. They do serve the most amazing biscuits I’ve ever eaten, and I suspect Crisco without care. Woo North Carolina!

The South: The Home of White Food

I feel like an emotional wreck. How Kay just suddenly disappeared. Not even a peep from him. I’m tired. I still miss him and his conversations, his laugh, his voice. But he ran away. He was such a pussy that he didn’t want to confront me about anything. Instead he just pretend as if what we had didn’t happen and didn’t matter. That is the most painful part. It is like we shared so many thoughts and time, and yet at the end of the day it didn’t matter one bit. I am trying to suppress my feelings for him and so far I’ve been doing okay, but time and time again I forget and let my guard down and I feel like crying and raging at the same time. I just despise relationships with no closure. Sure, nothing happened between us as a couple, but I don’t think we were just acquaintances either. I guess I have no choice but to scrape out of this on my own.

Last Friday, I went drinking with Lola, MF and Ken. I was depressed, upset, raging and god knows what else. Ken said Kay could be scared, and whatever else. I don’t really know what to think anymore. So I got so pissed drunk on Friday, and I stupidly drunken texted Kay.

Me: Wer u? Lol I’m srly damn 9 7 drunk now lol.
Kay: Where are u?
Me: In dsara perdana. I’m so fkn drunk it’s not funny anymore lol.
Kay: I m in town.. who is with you?
Me: Some drunken frens too lol.
Kay: Haha u should be ok then lol.

Then I proceeded to stupidly say that I loved him, missed him and I wanted to see him. And his reply? “Haha not funny lor, coming from someone drunk. Go get some rest la”

Now, that was farked up. One thing I wanted to die the next day when I read my messages again. Secondly, he was a jerk. The next day I sms him “Sorry for all the drunken messages last night”. He didn’t reply and since then I still haven’t heard anything from him. I found out he was a lil sick via FB. But that’s it. If he died now, I wouldn’t even find out about it.

I have to move on. How do I do that? I have no idea… yet.

There’s nothing like a good fall to cheer me up.  This time at poor Jenny’s expense nonetheless.  Or actually I think she has adopted a new stage name, after taking a moment to Google the facts I return to you with “Lola.”  According to one site that came up in the Google earch description for “Jennifer Lopez new name” (which turned up to be a blank dead end link) Jennifer Lopez denies claiming a new name.  So I’m a little unclear as of now…either way the video gave me a good laugh lol.  In a “Damn that’s so shitty I’m embarrassed for them” kind of way.  I mean that’s the bitter-sweetness of falling isn’t it?  The embarrassing faces you make and movements you make while in that split second of not being in control of your body, or in J.Lo/Lola/Jennifer Lopez/whateverhernamereallyis’s case that split second of falling smack on that infamous ass of hers.  In front of thousands of people in the audience, and millions of people watching live nonetheless!  I wonder if she chewed anyone’s ass out about the floor being slippery or something…unless maybe it was just that her heels didn’t have the right traction or something…lol either way that sucks.  But you know what?  Infinity million kudos for that quick recovery!  Either way, I still love her and that big ole derriere.

My heart skipped a few beats when I saw the cap for the Lola perfume bottle from Marc Jacobs. Love the shape. Love the colors. Love the design. And…we can do this!!! This design would make a beautiful pin.

Panic ba o reyalisasyon?  Di alam ng lola kung ano ang nadama pagharap sa salamin at lumantad ang mga puting buhok.  Bigla napatanong ng bakit.  At parang komersyal ng safeguard soap, nagsisagot ang pagkarami-raming kunsensya (teka, dalawa lang dapat sila di ba? hmm…. ).  At eto ang mga comments ng mga nagsipagsalita …

1)  MATANDA KA NA LOLA SUFING

Ngeh, obvious ba?  Sa dami ng sumasakit na parte ng katawan ko, di ko na kailangan pang makita ang mga puting buhok para maalala ko yan, sigh.  Kaya nga lola na ako di ba?  hayyy…

2)  DI KA NA HEALTHY LOLA SUFING

Yeah, yeah, tell me about it.  Unang taon ko pa lang dito sa Amerika e napro-project ko na ang aking health deterioration.  Bakit?  

(a) Walang exercise dito, ke sadya o di sinasadya (well, i mean the exercise i want, hehe).  Una, walang naglalakad dito, er, meron din – sa malls, hehe.  So compared sa paglalakad ko sa Baguio noon, walang ganun dito dahil super sasakyan-addict mga tao dito.  Biruin mo, tipong four blocks away lang ang grocery store sa amin, ayaw pang lakarin.  Bakit ulit?  Either dyahi (baka akalain ala kang car, urgh) or tamad (kaya kami puro overweight dito) or kse kultura (ayaw mong pinagtitinginan ka kse madalang nga ang naglalakad sa kalye, di uso) or kse takot (daming krimen dito noh!  at isa sa mga paborito ang abduction cases) yay, kakatakot!  Pangalawa, yun nga, ayoko ng exercises nila.  Bakit ulit?  E gym-style kse as in puro treadmill, cyclical, and weights, ngeh!  Tapos ala silang taebo, at ang taekwondo ay pambata lang, walang pang-isip batang tulad ko, sigh.  At eto pa – willing na nga akong i-admit na damatan na’ko at ok na lang din ang tai-chi, kaso kahit tai-chi, ala pa din!  Anak ng tinapa!    At pangatlo, missed ko na ang di sinasadyang ehersisyo tulad ng paglalakad sa Baguio mula Abanao hanggang SM.  Dito ko lang na-realize healthy-living pala ako sa Baguio noon kahit polluted na ang hangin .  Imagine mo ang benefits ng paglalakad mo papunta sa SM pag may bibilhin ka dun o kung may ka-date ka:  1) tipid sa pamasahe o gasolina 2)  enjoy kang maglakad dahil along the way, madaming small shops or small chats (meron at meron ka kasing makakasalubong na kakilala sa session road, hehe), and 3) nag-e-exercise ka ng mo namamalayan, so no effort na, free pa!  O di ba?!

(b)  Puro packaged food! 

Mas gusto ko sa aking 3rd world country, da Philippines.  Kahit sabihihin mong wa-class and behind sa teknolohiya at anupamang modern ways of living, mas fresh naman ang pagkain.  Dito sa Tate, ang karne at isda puro naka-package!  Malay mo pa kelan kinatay yun.  Or mukhang fresh nga pero sabi nila ininjectionan lang ang mga yun ng pampakulay upang magmukhang sariwa (hehe, akala mo Pinoy lang ang marunong mameke ha).  Sa Pinas, kaninang umaga lang pinarte ang manok o kinatay ang baboy.  At ang mga isda, buhay at tumatalon-talon pa.  Ang gulay dito, ok lang naman pero kung hindi limitado sa klase, mapapanganga ka naman sa presyo, lalo kung organic-achuchuchu!  So yan, di na alam kung anu-anong klase ng preservatives ang nasa katawan ko ngayon, sigh.

3)  GAWA NA NAMAN BA NG AMERIKA YAN?

Tubig kaya?

Sobrang lupit kse ng tubig nila dito kaya nga super-uso ang moisturizers dahil matutuyo balat mo pag hindi ka gumamit nyan.  Pero potable naman daw ang tap water (kahit declared ang arsenic contents, yay!).

Shampoo kaya? 

Palibhasa pang pekeng-kulay ang mga ka-shampoo-han dine.  Nandyang ngayon ang buhok e blonde, bukas brunette, sa susunod na bukas e red, sa sususnod na linggo pink, sa susunod na buwan e orange, then next e multi-colored na.  Hmm, baka nga yung shampoo, kaya namumuti ang buhok ko … baka napagkamalang ala-storm of X-men ang kulay ng buhok ko kaya may-i-turn-whitish na sya, yikes!

Oh well, tama na nga at baka sa kaiisip o kaka-analisa e lalong mamuti lahat ng aking kabuhukan.  Tingin ko naman nakikiayon lang siguro ang aking buhok sa aking kinalalagayan – namumuti palibhasa’y nasa daigdig ng mga puti, ahahahah!

Ayan, nahawa na din ako sa kanilang kakornihan. Istapet. :)

Today was designated as official Coney Island Day, mostly because Lana wasn’t busy and it stopped raining. After a minor scheduling issue involving evil technology and subway blackouts, Dylan (the designated photographer), Lana, and I made it to Coney Island and headed straight for Nathan’s.

There we braved the line and the natives for delicious hotdogs (for those of us staying true to he legend). Afterward we stopped for ice cream and I had a life-altering cup of the most amazing flavor I’ve ever had–yellow cake with chocolate icing. I’m thinking of unhorsing the grape juice for top addiction.

While we ate our dessert we walked along the boardwalk dodging dogs and old people all the way to Brighton Beach to sample a little Russian culture and broaden Lana’s horizons.

But eventually we’d seen all the discount fur we could stand and headed back, but not before introducing Lana to the best park in NY and subsequently the best kitten in the borough of Brooklyn.

Does she not listen to the music before she releases it?

Dacă iubiţi ciocolata, dar o cam evitaţi de teamă kilogramelor în plus, avem o veste bună pentru dumneavoastră. S-a inventat ciocolata pentru slăbit.

Povestea zilelor de trecere si asezare o voi scrie curand. Acum mi-e dor de margele. Le-am mangaiat in gand, le-am simtit mirosul in somn, tanjeam dupa tacerea concentrata in varful pensulei. Tot amestecul de ganduri inspaimantatoare s-a dizolvat pentru ca azi, fara pregatiri, fara sa fac din moment ceva special m-am dus la cutia cu bile si m-am apucat de treaba.

Am gasit cheia si bucuria si dincolo-ul asa cum le lasasem. Nu se pot pierde pentru ca sunt din interior. Ce fraiera am fost indoindu-ma. M-am intors la povestile voastre care asteapta cuminti sa fie spuse.

Inca nu e nimic gata asa ca va arat un sirag pe care l-am facut inainte de mutare, cu gandul la saluri porugheze la vitalitatea de sub melancolie, la poezia si delicatetea oamenilor de-aici, la simplitatea lor.
