Look 4: Night Out
This look is rather simple, and one that nearly every model woman should more or less already have in her closet.  It’s The Little Black Dress, of course.  What makes this particular LBD special is the detailing on it.  It’s a satiny material with a lace overlay, all black, so it’s got some pretty neat dimension.  It’s also gathered at the top, forming a flattering sweetheart/ballet like neckline.  While I’ve worn a variety of shoes with this particular dress, the classic sky-high pump never fails to elongate legs.  I paired my dress and heels with a long strand of deeply colored, irregularly shaped freshwater pearls, which I tripled up, and a black satin clutch.  I left off earrings and just let my hair hang over my ears.

I’ve done this a little different, since my dress isn’t available at all any more (it’s made by Laundry, and I snagged it at a steal during a sale).  I’ve gone and found three looks that I love, which I’ve listed for you below.  And not only that, but I’ve looked at three different pricepoints too, ’cause, well, I’m cool like that   The pumps in look one happen to be the ones I’ve got on in the above shot.

Preso meio bagunçado mas o mais fofo é a frente, uma trança frouxa que vem do lado. Amei e quero copiar nesse minuto! E o olho dela que já é pouco bonito foi realçado com sombra marrom-acobreada rente aos cílios de cima e de baixo

January Jones com meu coque favorito do momento, beeem no alto da cabeça, e make com olho esfumado e em tons de azul (combina com o olho E com o vestido, eu achei bonito e acho que meio que não importa se tá combinandinho ou não, importa se tá bonito)

Outro penteado fofo da January, com enfeite:

O coque baixo pra um lado, a franja pro outro e um enfeite pra completar, fofíssimo

A Eva Mendez adora um truque eu também sou fã: fazer um tracinho de delineador só no final do olho, dá uma alongada, dá um efeito ótimo e é muuuito menos trabalhoso do que fazer no olho todo! Ela usa blush rosa porque em moerna também fica lindo (eu gosto bastante do Desert Rose da MAC em morenas). E esse preso bagunçadinho, como já falei milhares de vezes aqui, amo!

De novo com o truque do tracinho, e um cabelo bem peruona com um super enfeite. Ela é esperta então equilibrou o cabelo com bem pouca maquiagem

Chanel Iman de delineador mais animado e boca apagada! Tão vendo meninas morenas e negras? Vocês também podem usar boca apagada – aqui me parece corretivo, porque é no backstage de um desfile!

E aqui, no desfile da Versace, ela usou sombra roxa, lindo né?

Kate Beckinsale, que glamouuuuur! Aaamo glamour… Belo coque, olho esfumado muito chique (reparem que ele não passa da linha do côncavo, mas é puxadinho na linha da sobrancelha pra alongar, e embaixo é esfumado também (e tem que caprichar no corretivo pra não ficar zumbi) e blush rosa que né, sempre dá aquele toque… a cor do gloss também é bonita (e eu não faço ideia de qual seja)

O coque da Natalie Portman é bem mais singelo mas nem por isso menos bonito, baixo e com voluminho no topo da cabeça. Olhos esfumados com sombra marrom meio rosada, ai amo a Natalie

Penelope Cruz definiu bem o contorno dos olhos com preto, como a pálpebra dela aparece bastante se ela pintar tudo pode ficar meio over, então ela faz só no contorno e no resto uma sombrinha iluminadora douradinha, e muito rímel

E pra terminar, uma das minhas belezas favoritas dos últimos desfiles de Paris

Coque no alto e olho borradinho e meladinho! A sobrancelha apagada não me favorece muito mas eu gosto do visual em que fica bom (as que já tem os fios naturalmente mais clarinhos, fininhos, falhos, que podem clarear mais com maquiagem)

Com o calor não tem jeito senão escolher roupas frescas...

Voici 3 tenues avec mes supers nouvelles chaussures ! On m’a reproché il y a quelques temps que mes tenues étaient importables. Certes c’est totalement faux puisque presque toutes les tenues que je poste ici sont mes tenues du jour, donc celles que je porte au lycée. Néanmoins voici ma vraie tenue du jour, vraiment rien de fou puisque tout ce que je voulais c’était avoir chaud. Mais bon… Les deux autres tenues sont celles que j’ai imaginé ces derniers jours pour aller avec mes boots. Pas extravagants puisque les chaussures se suffisent à elles mêmes.

I haven’t been a good blogger. I always forget or are too tired to take my picture after a whole day. That or the light becomes way to drab when it is has become dark outside (that happens around four in the afternoon here).

Oh well, now I’m here again. So what has happened since last time?

On friday I went to the album signing, and yes I wore the tights, if you were wondering. In the last minute I took another pair of boots though. I stood in line for about 45 minutes, but it was a pretty nice experience. People are so friendly, open and warm in that kind of environment. And the artist, she did recognise me. Fun! But I in retrospect I just feel like I could have said something more clever, smarter, cooler. I felt a bit like hrm.. a fumbling idiot at times. But Boyfriend says it couldn’t have been that bad. Oh well, what’s done is done.

The concert was lovely, the day after. Afterwards Boyfriend and I convinced my parents to have a drink with us “out on the town”. Whole lot of fun!

Then it was sunday. And after that monday. Work began yet again. I’m a bit uninspired at the moment. I guess we all have periods like that.

So today, I’ve been working from home and I felt like wearing white after reading this post

On sunday it’s the first of advent, do you celebrate that overseas at all? I know you do Thanksgiving before Christmas, but advent? Every sunday until Christmas we light a candle on advent. I’m so looking forward to it, I couldn’t help myself, this past sunday I spent most time in the kitchen baking Christmas goodies. I love Christmas, finally it’s here!

What do you think fashion is?  Everybody has their different views on it.  This is my little spin on how I see it.  I have used different items from *LP* Designs and incorporated it into these looks.  Some are an everday look and goes to a night on the town look.    I enjoyed putting these looks together and hope you enjoy it also.

Eu não sou uma pessoa do Verão. Não gosto do tempo abafado, não posso tomar muito sol porque viro um pimentão, odeio suor, odeio perder o apetite porque está muito quente, odeio não conseguir dormir porque está muito quente. Odeio, odeio e odeio. Hahah.

Sendo assim, fico sem graça no verão. Não tenho vontade de me arrumar muito (pra quê? a roupa vai ficar toda suada mesmo), não invisto muito em roupas de calor, nem nada. Ou seja: não esperem muitos looks meus por aqui nos próximos meses.

These were shot some time ago at Doll Museum in Riga. It’s  a small selection of  our vintage clothing both for girls and boys that can  be bought in our vintage boudoir located in Riga, A. Briana 10 or at our Etsy shop.

While we were shooting these pics, museum was helding an exibition called Harvest of  Moscow doll artist Sasha Petrova and photographer Yulia Osina-Fridman, you can see some pics here. Their work is truly amazing. They also visited our little shop one late evening and bought few vintage goodies.

If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I don’t know if I agree with today’s quote entirely, but it seems fitting. I’ve decided life’s too short to hate myself. Which is not to say that I’m suddenly in love with myself, just all giddy with the beauty of all my flaws. I wish, but no. Not quite. But I may be getting there, to where I can find peace with myself. I’m working on it.

Sometimes I just look at myself in the mirror and am intrigued. I’ve put on a lot of weight since 8th grade. I try to figure out what my lowest weight was, using little simulators they have online. But the simulators are for healthy living sites or weight loss sites that try to get you to a healthy BMI, so they won’t let me put in my height and weight that I had then. The BMI goes below 19, so they won’t let me figure it out. I’m guessing it was 110. Maybe a little more, little less. Surprisingly, I didn’t weigh myself. The numbers didn’t matter. It was the control and the feel and the look. I don’t know what it was. But I’ve put on a lot of pounds since then. Thirty pounds, actually. Maybe even thirty five. A lot.

Fat hangs over the side of some of my pants like a muffin, and when I lean over sometimes, there are little rolls here and there. My stomach and thighs are soft, not hard and toned. I have boobs and a butt and hips. I don’t look like Kate Moss. I don’t look like the girls in magazines. And I don’t care.

I’m starting to see that my body tells a story. It explains a lot if you really analyse it. Not that I’m saying you should all analyse my body. Please don’t, actually. That’s crossing the creepy line by a long shot.

There are stretch marks on my chest and the sides of my hips from shooting up inches in height in a short amount of time. I grew up too fast. That shows the physicality of that statement, but if you look deeper, I mentally grew up too fast, too. There are skinny scars on the top of my wrists from holding cats. I’d hold them to my chest to comfort them, even though they’d scratch the shit out of me. I try to understand people and hold them close even though they’re scratching the world away with insecurity and fear. My therapist pointed out that when I’m feeling better, I dress better. I wear short wrap dresses to highlight my crazy-long legs and almost-hourglass shape. I’m okay with what I’ve got now. I don’t hide my body with baggy clothes. (By the way, if you find something close-fitting, that skims over your body and doesn’t make anything hang over, you look really hot. If you wear baggy clothes, you look homeless. Take your time shopping to find something perfect. Just a few tips there for the ladies. ) I don’t hide anything, and I show that in how I dress. I’m fine with who I am and what I have. I wear 5 inch heels and I’m 5′8″ which, if you suck at math like me, makes me 6′1″. I can be intimidating, that says, but I’m not, really. I just like how they make me look and how they look themselves. Heels are cute. I just don’t care. I don’t care if I look or seem scary because I know that I’m actually not. I go from wearing 50s wrap dresses to 60s mod minis to 70s glittery gold shadow to 80s bright colours and off-the-shoulder sweatshirts to 90s flannel. I am bipolar, and so is my wardrobe.

How I look on the outside reflects my inside. If you examine yourself, you realize that your body tells a story. It explains you. It is a part of you, and it is a perfectly imperfect part of you. So what if you’re fat? That means you like good food. I consider that a pretty nice attribute. I like good food, too. Some of us are genetically blessed; some of us aren’t. So what if you have scars on the inside of your arms? That means you’ve hurt. That means you turn things inward. But they’re scars. They’re not cuts. That means you’ve made it. You have hope. That you believe in the possibility that life is worth living. That’s a pretty good attribute too. So what if your hair is a different colour every week? Maybe you don’t like conformity. Maybe you’re bored easily. But at least you’re not lying about it: you’re open about your attitude. You’re willing to put on that public of a statement. That’s pretty impressive, too. I don’t believe that there is any sort of body that doesn’t have a story. We all have stories. As women, we are taught to use our bodies to tell different stories, to tell the “right” stories. I think that’s total shit. We’re told to be confident but then ads featuring 98-pound girls are shoved in our faces. It’s just hypocritical. I say fuck that. I say be yourself. I say let your body express who you are and how you feel. Don’t hide it. Be proud of it. Even if you’re sad, be proud that you at least are alive, not just existing. If you’re sad, you still are feeling, and feeling is living.
