Vanishing Act EP (instrumental loopscapes)

Merry Christmas, everybody!  My first post on shredsomething is a gift to you all.

This half-hour of music represents the latest iteration of my ongoing “acoustic hardware live PA” project – an attempt to marry the worlds of acoustic and electronic music. Filling a niche in the ecology of sound somewhere between ambient neominimalism and tribal downtempo, this vast aviary of shifting textures evokes lush mindscapes and soaring vistas, riverine journeys and driving drum scenes.

Each improvised composition was recorded in one take with no overdubs or laptop wizardry. Everything you hear comes from live acoustic guitar and kalimba I processed through pitch shifters, delays, and wah, then looped and remixed on the fly.

Looping in AE

- once in bitmap choose half-tone screen and make adjustments

Keying
- Allows you to pick a range of pixel color values that become transparent
- Select screen colour (choose color) pick mid-level green
- change view to  ’screen matte’
- expand screen matte attributes
- adjust clip back and clip white till a good alpha is established
- despill bias – choose an average skin tone to remove green highlights

Don’t get sit there about think about making music, or try making music when you don’t have a clue. Get help and learn how to produce music correctly, you need to advance as quickly as possible and keep high consistent music coming out everyday. You need to get a myspace and build up a fan base, sell your music yourself and be an independent artist as much as you can be to be noticed by the major record companies. I want you to make it so take my advice and do the above, it will only benefit you and in the long run if you take it seriously.

Producing is something you can learn in your spare time and is something that can be very profitable, you can make hundreds a day just producing music and putting them for sale on the net. A few of my friends to this and make hundreds every single day before they consistently make good music and maintain a good reputation. This is the same image that you want to mirror to become a known artist, you want to put out music regularly and build a fan base. Build a name for yourself, a brand, something you could take to a fashion label and say I want to make some clothing with you or even aftershaves. Look at what the major artists are doing in the fashion world and believe that can be you, you could be up on that poster in times square if you put in enough work. Consistently putting out good quality music is the key.

The best way to learn is always to be taught when it’s something so creative, well taught to a certain level and then left to be creative. You need to find out how to use music production software and learn how you can use it to express and create hit records for the world. Start today producing music properly today, find somebody that can help you and push you to make that music consistently. Someone that will tell you when your standards are dropping or growing, someone that can teach you about sampling and looping, mixing and mastering, Everything you need to know about the music studio.

The third program of looping is to define the profesion of person who older than 40 years. Here the rules :

      person(john,smith,45,london,doctor).

person(jane,wilson,62,glassgow,surveyor).

profesion:-person(Forename,Surname,Old,_,As),Old>40,

After you write profesion on Prolog, the program will be end by displaying the result as below :

1. ?-profesion.
john smith is a doctor
jane Wilson is a surveyor

For the second problem of looping using PROLOG is define and test predicate to read character of user input and stop its process before the first new line or character ?.

The rules of this problem is :

•  repeat is predicate that loop the process inside the program.
• get0(Word) is predicate to read the word that input by user and convert it to ASCII numerical.
• stop(Word) is predicate to stop the process.
• stop(13) is indicated that the program will be end when user entering the blank character that also mention as firs new line.
• stop(63) is indicated that the program will be end when user entering the ? character that has 63 of ASCII.
• put(Word) is used to display again the character that entered by user after converted into ASCII.
• Fail is predicate that make the program after reach certain condition.

  Test the rules to your SWI Prolog. Write go after you consult the rules file.
  

I think you have familiar with looping using Java Programming, but now, it will be wonderful when you know the other programming language using pure logic, namely PROLOG. It can be applied to loop operation as in Java.

For the first application of looping using PROLOG, we can find the square of first number to the last number inclusive we enter.

Write the rule like below and save as firstLast.pl

• output_values(First, Last) :- First>Last used to continue the program when First number is greater than Last number.
• When the first number reach the same number as Last number we’ve input, the process will be end by displaying the result of last square number. It is show on the second rules above.
• But if the square is less than last number we’ve input, so the process will be continue. The process is product first number with first number and put the result on N variable. Then, the first number before, will be add by 1 to find the next square number until the first number (that put on M variable) same as last number. (Show on the last rule).

  Now, open your prolog and consult firstLast.pl
  Test the program use 6 as First number, and 12 as Last number. It will find the square number of 6 until 12 (the square of 6,7,8,9,10,11,12).

To discover a sound you can walk in; a sound which scares you and yet reminds you of that sweet, same fear that is being alive; a sound which pulses in each further step you take and pulses in your spine is an uncommon thing.

Any regular visitors would have noticed a link pop up in my Delicious links to the right there for Zoe Keating. Hers is this sound.

I thought I’d be able to leave it at a link but hers is a unique melancholy.
It is the soft warmth of expectant hope ebbing on the knowing, aged realization that each time a new happiness is known, so too is the understanding of its its fragile new-born nature and the possibility of its end – making it all the more important.

I haven’t heard an album and I’m not the first to know her music. I’m assured it’s available online and I’ve managed to find some tracks to download for free.

What I do know is that the next time she plays in London. I’ll be there.

I discovered Dub FX (Benjamin Stanford) thanks to a random search for dubstep around 1.5 years ago. His music is incredibly different from any other genre out there. The main thing about his music is that it’s made on the spot and every live is completely different from the last one. He uses a loop-station and firstly records a main beat – makes it repeat, adds bass, harmonica and tops it up with wicked rhythms and singing. The mercurial thing about all this is that he uses his VOICE  ONLY. At some points it may seem that a whole orchestra is playing but when you raise your eyes, you know that it’s all been done by one man – Ben.

He’s a man of principles – he has rejected all the recording deals he has been offered, he lives a gypsy lifestyle by traveling the world and making music on the streets. If people wish to pay for his sounds, they can – but that’s up to them.

His lyrics are about the problems of this world – the corruption in our society, mainstream thinking of the 21-st century, wars and self-destruction. If people would take the time and dive into the thoughts behind the words not just the amazing vibe that flows in his music, we could make this world a better place.

Well.. Last weekend I had the chance to attend his concert and I can easily place this live among the top 3 of my entire life. He sits there with Aerosmith and Metallica. Pretty massive, as both of the other bands have been making music for around 30 years. Dub on the other hand has skyrocketed with only 4 years of experience.

He tends to surprise, the last song of the night was a brilliant redo of the old “Ghostbusters” theme-song, way to kick the feeling through the roof. A lot of fun and vibes – a night well spent.

For people who gathered interest in this guy should check out his videos from youtube. The first video to watch is probably “Love Someone” as there he explains how and what he is  doing with the sounds .

Setelah memahami notasi algoritma, mari kita lanjutkan pemahaman kita ke struktur dasar algoritma. Algoritma merupakan langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah. Langkah-langkah tersebut dapat berupa RUNTUNAN AKSI, PEMILIHAN/PERCABANGAN AKSI, dan PENGULANGAN AKSI. Ketiga jenis langkah tersebut membentuk konstruksi suatu algoritma. Semua program yang ada di dunia ini pasti mengandung salah satu dari ketiga struktur ini. Jadi, sebuah algoritma dapat dibangun dari tiga buah struktur dasar, yaitu:

1. Runtunan (sequence).
2. Pemilihan/Percabangan (selection).
3. Pengulangan (repetition/looping).

1. RUNTUNAN (SEQUENCE)

Sebuah runtunan terdiri dari satu atau lebih instruksi. Tiap instruksi dikerjakan secara berurutan sesuai dengan urutan penulisannya, yakni sebuah instruksi dilaksanakan setelah instruksi sebelumnya selesai dilaksanakan. Urutan instruksi menentukan keadaan akhir algoritma. Bila urutannya diubah, maka hasil akhir mungkin juga berubah.

2. PEMILIHAN/PERCABANGAN (SELECTION)

Adakalanya sebuah instruksi dikerjakan jika kondisi tertentu dipenuhi. Kondisi adalah persyaratan yang dapat bernilai benar atau salah. Dalam pemilihan dikenal beberapa struktur pemilihan, yaitu:

# If – then

Aksi hanya akan dilaksanakan apabila kondisi bernilai benar. Sebaliknya, apabila kondisi bernilai salah, maka aksi tidak akan dilaksanakan.

Struktur Umum:

If kondisi then

Aksi

Struktur pemilihan if-then hanya memberikan satu pilihan aksi bila kondisi (persyaratan) dipenuhi (bernilai benar), dan tidak memberikan pilihan aksi lain bila kondisi bernilai salah.

#If-then-else

Struktur pemilihan ini memberikan dua buah aksi yang akan dikerjakan tergantung pada nilai kondisinya.

Struktur umumnya:

If kondisi then

aksi 1

Else

aksi 2

Else artinya ”kalau tidak”. Bila kondisi benar, aksi 1 yang akan dikerjakan, tetapi kalau tidak, aksi 2 yang akan dikerjakan.

Contoh:

If x > y then

Tulis x sebagai bilangan terbesar

Else

Tulis y sebagai bilangan terbesar

Contoh diatas adalah untuk menentukan nilai terbesar dari dua buah bilangan bulat, x dan y (andaikan x tidak sama dengan y).

#If-then-else if

Apabila pilihan aksi yang dilakukan lebih dari dua buah, maka struktur pilihannya menjadi lebih rumit, biasanya untuk pemilihan seperti ini disebut pemilihan bersarang.

Contoh: menentukan bilangan terbesar dari tiga buah bilangan: x, y, z:

If x > y then

If x > z then

Tulis x sebagai bilangan terbesar

Else

Tulis z sebagai bilangan terbesar

Else

If y > z then

Tulis y sebagai bilangan terbesar

Else

Tulis z sebagai bilangan terbesar

Kelebihan struktur pemilihan terletak pada kemampuannya yang memungkinakan pemroses mengikuti jalur aksi yang berbeda berdasarkan kondisi yang ada.

3. PENGULANGAN (REPETITION/LOOPING)

Pengulangan digunakan untuk menjalankan satu atau beberapa pernyataan sebanyak beberapa kali. Dengan kata lain, pengulangan memungkinkan pengerjaan beberapa kali perintah tetapi penulisan perintah tersebut hanya satu kali.

Struktur pengulangan yang umum digunakan antara lain:

#Pernyataan for

Pernyataan pengulangan for digunakan jika kita sudah tahu berapa kali kita akan mengulang satu atau beberapa pernyataan.

Bentuk umum pernyataan for adalah sbb:

For pencacah := nilai_awal to nilai_akhir do

Aksi

Aksi akan dilakukan sebanyak hitungan pencacah pengulangan, yaitu dari nilai_awal sampai nilai_akhir.

#Pernyataan repeat-until

Pernyataan repeat-until akan melakukan pengulangan aksi hingga kondisi (persyaratan) berhenti terpenuhi.

Bentuk umum pernyataan repeat-until adalah sbb:

Aksi

Until kondisi

Tidak seperti pada struktur for yang jumlah pengulangannya diketahui sebelum pengulangan dilaksanakan, maka untuk struktur repeat-until digunakan jika jumlah pengulangan tidak dapat diketahui di awal. Namun yang pasti, pengulangan aksi akan terus dilakukan sampai kondisi berhenti dipenuhi.

#Pernyataan while-do

Sama seperti pada pernyataan repeat-until, pada pernyataan while-do ini digunakan untuk pengulangan yang belum diketahui pasti jumlah pengulangannya. Berakhirnya pengulangan ini ditentukan oleh suatu kondisi. Bila kondisi sudah tidak terpenuhi, maka pengulangan akan berakhir. Dengan kata lain, selama kondisi masih terpenuhi, pengulangan akan terus dilakukan.

Bentuk umum pernyataan while-do adalah sebagai berikut:

Catatan:

Pada pernyataan repeat-until dan while-do, pada dasarnya hampir sama yaitu digunakan jika jumlah pengulangan belum dapat ditentukan. Tetapi terdapat perbedaan yaitu pada pengecekan kondisi. Jika pada pernyataan while-do, kondisi dicek pada awal blok pengulangan, pada pernyataan repeat-until, kondisi dicek pada akhir blok pengulangan.

Perbedaan yang lain, bila pernyataan while-do mengulang pernyataan selama kondisi masih terpenuhi, pernyataan repeat-until mengulang pernyataan selama kondisi belum terpenuhi.
