Prepare for a Country Throwdown

Montgomery Gentry and Jamey Johnson have been announced as the headliners for the debut of the Country Throwdown tour. The festival-style, amphitheatre tour will not only include music, but also lifestyle attractions, vendors and pre-show tailgating parties at each venue. There will be a total of 12 main artists performing on three stages, including Little Big Town, Jack Ingram, Eric Church, the Eli Young Band, Lost Trailers and Emily West, plus several singer songwriters will be featured in the Bluebird Café Tent throughout the day. Country Stars Assist Children's Hospital Through Project Paper Doll

A kick-off party for Project Paper Doll, an effort to help raise money for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, was held Monday evening (Nov. 17) in the hospital’s theater.

More than 50 celebrities, including country artists Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood, all contributed to the fundraising project by decorating their very own wooden dolls in the shape of the Nashville hospital’s logo.

Monday’s event included a display of the dolls that will be auctioned on eBay in three different groups from Nov. 28 through Dec. 17. Country artists attending Monday’s event included Luke Bryan, the Lost Trailers and American Idol alumnus Kristy Lee Cook.

Trailer Choir Up For "Best New Duo/Group" on About.com

Trailer Choir is up for “Best New Country Duo/Group” on About.com. The band is up against Carter’s Chord, Lady Antebellum, Eli Young Band and The Lost Trailers. Currently, Trailer Choir is in second place behind the Eli Young Band.

If you have not heard of them yet, you soon will. The band is currently opening for Toby Keith on his tour with Montgomery Gentry. I saw them in July at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California and I only wish that they could have played more than the two songs that they did.

Their first hit is called “Off The Hillbilly Hook” and it can be found on the new sound track for the movie Beer for my Horses.

CMT has a great posting which includes the Unplugged at Studio 330 performance of “Rockin’ The Beer Gut”.
