An up-and-coming sound fusing North East Los Angeles originality with traditional Westcoast shore beats. Though it is only the beginning of (what we hope to be) a beautiful trajectory, their performance at Corazon del Pueblo‘s “Flowers of Fire” was a libation of liberation, as their uncompromising melody mantle messages of self-love and communal affirmations. It is rumored that The Stone Soul Echoes sound will soon splash through a city near you during the summer of 2012. Here is a preview of what is to become a reverberating novelty.

(As an aspirational healer) being in the audience at El Rey Theater, I transverse to an anachronistic luminous heaven of synchronicity throughout the two hour set. Saul Williams’s performance was nothing less than a spiritual experience. I witnessed an artist bring forth his unlimited unfettered unequivocal genius, propelled by the beat of his drum, of his base, of his tenor, as king of his domain. Experimental music doesn’t quite describe the profusely profound magic of harmonizing that went down that night. Williams’s sweat dripped from stage to audience, every shake perspire a new drop of water, like nourishment to the soul. At one point, he leveled it up, surfing to the floor, moshed it with the eclectic crowd- that might or might have not understood the depth of his words- a sequence of welcoming the ancestors climatically finished off with the ultimate rocking out.
