Neste segundo post, estarei esclarecendo algumas diretivas no preparo para a prova, como por exemplo, a forma como organizarei os estudos e os metodos para melhor aproveitamento tanto do tempo quanto do material que usarei neste periodo.

A principio, estarei usando somente materiais encontrados na internet, pois acredito que esta é a fonte mais atualizada e em sintonia com os requisitos da prova da LPI.

Vou começar praticamente igual a forma de estudo usada pelo Hebert Moroni, em seu blog: blog do moroni

gostei muito do metodo de estudo proposto por ele, e tentarei seguir conforme demonstrado no blog dele.

Primeiro é necessário acessar o site da LPI e verificar o que é pedido na prova.

Today was one of those days when I received a press release that had already been issued in India (GMT +5.5) hours prior. primeiramente vamos conhecer o que é LPI ou Linux Professional Institute. LPI é um fundação sem fins lucrativos constituída em 1999 pela comunidade Linux, onde desenvolveram, uma certificação internacional reconhecida por empresas do mundo todo, baseada na comprovação do conhecimento em sistemas GNU/Linux.

A certificação LPI está entre as 10 mais procuradas do mundo por profissionais da área de Tecnologia da Informação.

Certificar-se é uma forma de atestar conhecimentos profissionais, ou seja, validar a eficiência de alguém em determinado assunto.

Pese a que la información es pública y está más que comentada, me he fijado que hay bastante desconcierto y bastante confusión entre el derecho a copia privada y  la definición de copia de seguridad (o backup).

¿Qué es el derecho a copia privada?

Artículo 31. Reproducciones provisionales y copia privada. 1. No requerirán autorización del autor los actos de reproducción provisional a los que se refiere el artículo 18 que, además de carecer por sí mismos de una significación económica independiente, sean transitorios o accesorios y formen parte integrante y esencial de un proceso tecnológico y cuya única finalidad consista en facilitar bien una transmisión en red entre terceras partes por un intermediario, bien una utilización lícita, entendiendo por tal la autorizada por el autor o por la ley.

2. No necesita autorización del autor la reproducción, en cualquier soporte, de obras ya divulgadas cuando se lleve a cabo por una persona física para su uso privado a partir de obras a las que haya accedido legalmente y la copia obtenida no sea objeto de una utilización colectiva ni lucrativa, sin perjuicio de la compensación equitativa prevista en el artículo 25, que deberá tener en cuenta si se aplican a tales obras las medidas a las que se refiere el artículo 161. Quedan excluidas de lo dispuesto en este apartado las bases de datos electrónicas y, en aplicación del artículo 99.a), los programas de ordenador.

Vamos, que el derecho a copia privada es la copia de una obra (literaria, artística o científica) para uso privado y sin ánimo de lucro. Además la LPI es tajante en que para realizar la copia privada, no es obligatorio haber adquirido la obra original, vamos que un amigo tuyo puede hacer una copia de un DVD y regalarte dicha copia, siempre que no se vaya a utilizar con ánimo de lucro.

Como bien queda claro en el artículo anteriormente citado, el software (sistemas operativos, vídeojuegos, programas informáticos) no está amparados en el derecho a copia privada, así que para utilizar una copia, hay que haber comprado el original (o su licencia original) y hacer así una copia de seguridad.

¿Qué es una copia de seguridad?

Una copia de seguridad o backup en informática es un archivo digital, un conjunto de archivos o la totalidad de los datos considerados lo suficientemente importantes para ser conservados. También se emplea el termino a veces como un eufemismo para denominar a cualquier archivo pirata. La única diferencia reside en haber comprado anteriormente el contenido del backup o haberlo creado el poseedor.

Es legal hacer una copia de seguridad de cualquier obra, sea software o no, ya que se trata de una especie de seguro ante los posibles daños que pueda surgir el original. Simplemente es obligatorio haberla comprado si se trata de alguna obra sujeta a algún tipo de copyright.

Hay excepciones en las que se pueden utilizar copias de seguridad (de obras sujetas a copyright o a licencias privativas) con ánimo de lucro:

- Negocios que utilizan música. Pese que para utilizar una obra audiovisual en un negocio, es obligatorio haberla adquirido antes, puede utilizarse una copia de seguridad. Eso sí, además hay que pagar las tarifas pertinentes a la SGAE.

- Negocios de alquiler de obras audiovisuales o videojuegos. Recientes sentencias han pronunciado que dado que al repetido uso del producto, este se puede dañar, es completamente legal hacer copias de seguridad.

De todas formas, en el caso de las obras audiovisuales es muy complicado demostrar el uso fraudulento de una copia de seguridad, vamos, de las llamadas copias piratas. El acusado siempre puede decir que la obra original se estropeó y que no ha guardado la prueba de compra.

Donde sí es fácil de demostrar, es en el caso del software, ya que simplemente hay que mirar si se utiliza una licencia no original o se carece de licencia.

“Leyendas urbanas”

• Es legal utilizar “software pirateado” si se borra antes de las 24 horas. . Si no se tiene el original o la licencia original, es ilegal desde el primer momento. Esta frase podía (y puede) verse en los términos de uso de muchas páginas de roms de videjuegos, Y es totalmente falsa, no viene recogida en la LPI.
• Es legal, la descarga de aplicaciones abandonware (juegos descatalogados o de compañías que han desparecido o quebrado). Aquí está el artículo de la LPI al respecto.

Artículo 98.

1. Cuando el autor sea una persona natural la duración de los derechos de explotación de un programa de ordenador será, según los distintos supuestos que pueden plantearse, la prevista en el Capítulo I del Título III de este Libro.

2. Cuando el autor sea una persona jurídica la duración de los derechos a que se refiere el párrafo anterior será de setenta años, computados desde el día 1 de enero del año siguiente al de la divulgación lícita del programa o al de su creación si no se hubiera divulgado.

Vamos, que hay que esperar 70 años de su lanzamiento o creación. Dado que el primer videojuego, el Tennis for Two (precursor del PONG) fue creado en 1957, aún no existe la descarga legal de abandonware. Eso sí, también cabe decir, que es poco probable que se tomen medidas contra las páginas que ofrecen este tipo de aplicaciones.

• “Ya pago canon, así que es legal que utilice copias piratas de videojuegos”. El canon de la SGAE, se trata de una compensación para los autores y editores por el derecho de copia privada. El software no viene recogido en dicho derecho y además es ilegal su copia si no se tiene la licencia original.

Esto desemboca en que si lo que tienes es una copia de seguridad y dado que el canon es indiscriminado, puedes perfectamente reclamarle a la SGAE el importe pagado por el DVD utilizado. Eso sí, hay que hacerlo por vía judicial.

Buen dia amigos, hoy reflexionando un poco me he dado cuenta  de como evolucionas  mas rapido cuando hay algo que te apaciona ,  ya hace unos años que he convivido con diferentes amigos, compañeros y usuarios interesados en poder lograr que su  traste  (tanto el viejo polveado PC ,  como el salido tienda, ” Nuevo de Paquete “) corra  su distro de manera optima tanto  para evitar los costos de una licencia ( en donde pagas casi tu salario para que funcione), pero sin tener algun interes en conocer como se mueve el engranaje interno (Todo un mito.!!)para lograr un simple login en consola , todos  asisten a eventos con el unico afan de conseguir la mejor apariencia,pero pocos  interesados en probar mas haya.

Otro grupo de linuxeros tratamos de transcender y nos interesa el saber mas del porque linux sigue siendo un sistema mas robusto, somos una clase de persona extraña con una pasion prolongada sobre los temas de tecnologia y el opensource , diria yo que ya es la fase en la que ya probaste las delicias de la libertad y el control y te haces adicto a el , muchos de nosotros con diferentes status y oficios pero todos tratamos de conseguirlo.

Hoy me llega  a la mente tratar de tener mayor preparacion ligeramente mas de alguno hemos pensado en lograr una certificacion, hoy navegando me encontre un tutorial para prepararse a el ” LPI EXAM “  mediante el portal del grupo desarroyadores de IBM (IBM como olvidarla..).

Se los aconsejo, solo nesecitan registrarse.

Empolyed inside I.T. for most companies today almost always means in some degree you will have to pass a certification Exam. If you're a network engineer this stands for you will need to take a IBM Certification Examination. To take and take a Hyperion Solutions 70-620 Test is not an easy matter. Here I will write out some tips and advices on how you can pass your CompTIA certification Test Once.

There is usually three reasons why you would need to take a certification Test.

1. Your Boss requires you to take it – this is often need to justify the salary they are paying you and for managers to gauge your expertise level.

2. You want a new job – Many times having a Oracle certification on your resume will help get your foot in the door to a new company and new opportunities.

All of these tests are given at a special facility that is designed to administer the tests in a controlled environment. Nothing can be taken into the testing room while you take your test with the exception of two pieces of paper and a pencil provided by the testing center. Tests are delivered to workstations in the testing room that have been downloaded over the internet to the testing center.

Taking these tests can be very unnerving. However, passing these tests can be done by anyone. You simply need to invest in the study materials and time to get the job down.

The sure fire way to take these test:

To prepare for a CIW Certification Exam you should do the following.

Get a Good Study Book

Visit your local bookstore and look through the Cognos BI0-210 study guides. Find a book that is easy for you to read and makes sense. Every author writes differently and can convey technical details differently. You need to find an author that writes in a way that allow you to absorb the material.

Get Practice Examination Software

Next, you need to get a hold of a practice Test. There are many teams now that sell practice exams that will help you prepare for these difficult test. You need to buy a practice test that is focused on your particular Examination, for example the CompTIA Certification Exam.

Finally, read the book that you purchased once through, highlighting along the way key areas that you may want to come back to later to review.

Then, install your practice test software and take your first practice test. Don't worry you will most likely fail your first time through. Don't get discouraged, everybody does. Most practice test software will come will a bank of about 400 questions or more, each divided in to 4 practice tests. You need to take each practice test 4 times! After the 4th time (you should be passing by now- if now take them again until you do take) Lastly, take the final practice Test which will be the entire bank of 400 questions.

After this point you are ready to take the real Exam. Your head has swollen to a point you didn't believe it could swell to. Pick up the phone and call your local testing center to schedule your Exam. Take it as soon as possible.

It’s not that long ago but the pictures do look rather old fashioned, I’d be interested to see other people’s year of birth in Google image results.

Last week I ran my first 10k. I have to admit that I am not really a “runner.” I started running a couple of months ago in response to my best friend’s challenge of “Let’s run the Disney ½ Marathon in January 2010!” Since then, my focus for running has been on the previously unattainable goal–FINISHING—each morning run, a 5k, a 10k, and now a half marathon. This morning, as the alarm clock went off at an ungodly hour and I dragged my butt out of bed to complete my 5 loops in partial darkness, I thought “Why am I doing this?” The misty rain didn’t make it any more enjoyable and my ankle with its 2 plates and 15 pins inside groaned its disapproval. As I began to run, I thought about how this was a lot like leadership.

In the Leadership Challenge Workshop, we talk about how leadership is a journey. Great leaders are constantly learning, stretching themselves, focusing on continuous improvement. Some days being a leader is fun and seems almost easy, and others, it’s more difficult and requires more patience, energy, and time.

With every lap I ran, the rain lessened, the morning sunlight appeared, and I got into my rhythm. But then I realized I was coasting, just going through the motions. I had already completed 6 miles in the 10k and was only running 5 miles this morning. My goal shouldn’t be on finishing, it should be on bettering my form, regulating my breathing, and improving my time.

Leadership is a journey. The 30 behaviors from the LPI are proven to help leaders get exemplary results, but only with increased frequency of those behaviors. It’s not about being able to do the behaviors; it’s about consistently doing the behaviors. This requires constant focus, pushing ourselves when required, and striving to reach our potential.

I have about 12 weeks until my ½ marathon. I have a lot of work to do on my journey to achieve that goal. Leadership is a journey, too, and it doesn’t have a finish line. But the milestones and goals along the way can motivate us to higher levels of performance. We can recognize the challenges and believe that we have the passion, knowledge, skill, and commitment to lead and inspire others to reach new goals.

Digital versus Film

Selbst im professionellen Sektor ist diese Debatte noch nicht zu Ende: Weiter auf Film fotografieren oder nur noch digital.

Nikon F4 (links) und Nikon D2H (rechts) - analog vs. digital

Längst keine Diskussion mehr im Bereich der aktuellen Nachrichtenfotografie. Hier zählt die Schnelligkeit. Aber im Stockfotobereich kann Film durchaus noch eine Alternative sein. Denn professionelle digitale SLR-Kameras sind nicht gerade preiswert. Schon gar nicht die, mit den zig Megapixeln. Um nur ein Beispiel zu nennen: meine Nikon D2H hat als Vorführgerät so ziemlich das in Euro gekostet, was 1990 meine F4-E (auch ein Vorführgerät) in DM kostete. Sie war mehr als dreimal so teuer wie damals eine Nikon F2 mit Motor MD-2!

Dann kommt da noch eine ganz andere banale finanzielle Überlegung hinzu: man hat funktionsfähige und robuste Werkzeuge, für die man einmal viel Geld bezahlt hat. Will man die heute verkaufen, dann kriegt man kaum noch was dafür. Man muß nur mal reinschauen bei ebay, wie dort solche Gerätschaften geradezu verramscht werden. Sicher, wenn du Profi bist, dann sind die Kameras längst abgeschrieben. Aber … 

Analoge Profi-SLR's und Dias

Die D2H hat mal gerade 4,1 Megapixel. Da hat selbst eine Coolpix P5000 mehr. Das reicht zwar dicke für mehr als 90% aller möglichen Verwendungen meiner Bilder.  Im Zeitungsdruck allemal selbst für größere Formate. 

Und auch in Zeitschriften und Magazinen verlangt die übliche Abbildungsgröße nicht nach mehr.

An der Stelle mal ein “Retro-View”: vor der Zeit der digitalen Bilddateien habe ich meine Abnehmer keisewegs nur mit 18×24-Abzügen beliefert. Das war nur mal ganz früher bei SW-Fotos so. Farb-Prints gingen im 13×18-Format an die Presse raus (angefertigt im Schnell-Labor, in einer Stunde waren bei Photo Porst hier in Nürnberg der Film entwickelt und die Prints fertig!). Da war auch der Preis der Grund dafür. Und auch das konnte größer als lediglich als “Briefmarke” gedruckt werden. Siehe z.B. nachstehende Publikation mit einem Abdruckformat über zwei Spalten in einer Zeitschrift.

Anders sieht es da aber schon im Hochglanz-Buchdruck aus …

… da sind bereits höhere Auflösungen selbst für eine Viertelseite gefragt. Also doch eine D3 kaufen? Nie und nimmer nicht! Ich wüßte nicht, wie ich die bezahlen sollte. Wenn man sich mal überlegt, daß die Honorare im Fotosektor seit 20 Jahren nahezu unverändert sind. Eher rückläufig. Man denke nur an Microstock-Agenturen, bei denen sich durchaus auch die Größen der Verlagshäuser bedienen. 

Alternative? Eben auf Film fotografieren, statt der D-SLR in einen – guten – Scanner investieren, der im Regelfall dennoch preiswerter ist als die Super-Megapixel-Reflex? Dias oder Negative mit 5.000 Pixeln lange Seite digitalisieren. Sehr arbeitsaufwendig. Sehr zeitraubend. Aber rentiert sich die unter viel Aufwand produzierte Qualität noch? Im Zeitalter von Microstock. Dem allgegenwärtigen, von einer Vielzahl von Fotografen - insbesondere Amateuren – bedienten Konkurrenten?

Ich persönlich habe mir die Nachtschichten am Scanner seit mehr als drei Jahren abgewöhnt. Zu viel Aufwand. Denn, wie gesagt, für 90 Prozent meiner Bildverwendungen reicht die D2H. Und es ist schlußendlich auch eine Raumfrage. Denn das analoge Bildmaterial muß archiviert werden (und eine Viertelmillion Dias und Negative habe ich mindestens im Archiv) und das digitalisierte Material dann noch zusätzlich.

Meine eigene Zukunft ist daher nur noch digital. Meine “alten” Arbeitsgeräte sind “eingemottet” und stehen zum Verkauf. Ich kenne aber Kollegen, die parallel auch immer noch auf Film fotografieren. Und auch welche, die nur auf Film fotografieren.

Drum Frage und Diskussionsanstoß: Wie sieht’s allgemein so aus damit? Hat er eine Zukunft, der Silberhalogenidfilm?

Quo vadis photography? Ein Plädoyer für die Nikon D2H. Bekenntnis eines Pressefotografen gegen die Megapixel-Hype. Warum man seine analogen Geräte nicht einfach auf den Müll schmeißen oder zu Dumping-Preisen verhökern muß. Als hochqualitatives “Zweitgerät” weiter in Betrieb. Für all die Motive, bei denen es nicht auf die Schnelligkeit ankommt, die Bilder gleich verfügbar zu haben. Denn mit einem guten Scanner holt man aus Dias und Negativen gut und gerne 15 Megapixel!

Ich bin ein Vitalstoff-Fan. Das ist bekannt. Als solcher habe ich natürlich auch den Podcast “LPI on Health” des Linus-Pauling-Instituts der Universität von Oregon (Oregon State) abonniert. Die Redaktion des Podcasts hatte anlässlich der Konferenz ein Interview mit dem diesjährigen Preisträger der Linus-Pauling-Medaille Prof. Michael Holick vom Boston Medical Center geführt. Die LPI-Podcasts sind jeder für sich wirklich erstklassing. Doch dieser war jede seiner 18 Minuten ein einsamer Genuß! Ich dokumentiere gerne auch die Abschrift dieses beeindruckenden Beweises wissenschaftlicher Exzellenz!

Was mich wirklich beeindruckt ist die Ruhe und Sachlichkeit, in der Prof. Holick darlegt, warum Vitamin D, das nur Vitamin genannt wird, tatsächlich aber ein Hormon ist, so eminent wichtig für die menschliche Gesundheit ist. Es ist ganz maßgeblich auch seinem mehr als dreißigjährigem Wirken zu verdanken, dass inzwischen ein Umdenkprozess eingesetzt hat. Über die sich wandelnde Haltung habe ich hier bereits anlässlich des Ersten Hohenheimer Ernährungsgespräches berichtet.

Lange galt Vitamin D als fettlöslicher Vitalstoff als gefährlich. Tatsächlich ist die Vitamin-D-Vergiftung die seltendste Diagnose der Welt! Demgegenüber stehen Erkenntnisse, wonach rund 1,5 Milliarden Menschen, also ein Viertel der Weltbevölkerung an einem Vitamin-D- Mangel leiden.

Forscher wie Dr. Holick machen dafür unter anderem die Massivität von Dermatologen verantwortlich, die “seit mehr als 40 Jahren vor den Gefahren der Sonnenstrahlung” warnen. Holick, der dafür vor fünf Jahren aus der dermatologischen Abteilung der Boston Medical Center zurücktreten musste, blieb seiner Haltung treu, die er auf unzählige Studienergebnisse stützt. Ein Lichtschutzfaktor 30, der heute zum Standard geworden ist, fängt jedoch 99 Prozent aller Vitamin D-produzierenden Sonnenstrahlen ab. Holick plädiert für regelmässigen, moderaten Sonnenlicht-Kontakt an Armen und Beinen für rund 15 bis 30 Minuten zwischen 10 und 15 Uhr am Tag. Erst danach sollte Sonnenschutz aufgetragen werden. Natürlich hält Holick nichts von exzessivem Sonnenbaden. Sonnenbrand muss vermieden werden! Eine ihm unterstellte Nähe zur Sonnenstudio-Industrie weist Holick zurück. Vitamin D-Level im Blut können im Winter sichergestellt werden, wenn es im Frühjahr, Sommer und Herbst genug Vitamin D gibt, was im Körperfett gespeichert und bei Bedarf abgegeben werden kann.

Solch moderater Kontakt zur Sonne und ausreichende Vitamin D-Versorgung (Holick selbst nimmt 2000 I.E. Vitamin D pro Tag und empfiehlt 1000 I.E. für Kinder), mindern nicht nur das Risiko an Hautkrebs zu erkranken, sondern auch für zahlreiche andere Zivilisationserkrankungen, betont Dr. Holick. Vor allem Schwangere sollten darauf achten, ausreichend mit Vitamin D versorgt zu sein.
